QL Research is an industrial EBM project by Luigi De Donà, recorded when he was only 18 years old, in 1996, in his room in Limana, a small industrialised suburb of Belluno stretched out in the valley at the foothills of the Dolomites, in the northeast of Italy. He recorded on cassette using a 386dx computer with a Soundblaster and a Yamaha DX7, distributing the tape independently by hand at the Istituto Tecnico Negrelli in Feltre (bl), where he was attending a computer course. The experience of his older brother Spectrum 48K firing 8-bit sounds led him to delve deeper into the issue and develop a sort of sir Clive Sinclair cult. Years later he began programming and exploring the FM synthesis, while wearing a Manchester United scarf. In 2006, the company he worked for registered a patent in the US under his name: “Intelligent multicast module at the application level for multimedia transmission”. Publication number: 20060098664. Luigi died on 16 April 2009 at the age of 30 from an aggressive form of brain cancer, leaving behind a three-year-old daughter. A few months earlier, when his brother was supposed to take the disc with the last medical examinations to the head doctor, he had said to him: -Just bring the doctor a Throbbing Gristle CD.-

Alzheimer, the record, is a Stranger everywhere on Earth. Wherever you might be listening to it, it will always be from somewhere else. The product of a foreign culture, for even though it was created and recorded in Caracas, Venezuela between January 1997 and 9/9/99. It is the result of forgetting everything and recomposing a new Sound World from the faintest, blurriest recollections of musical culture. Its purpose is confusion, its uniqueness is creating it in the realm of Music; a clash of instruments and minds.

Everything you will hear in the record was performed by humans and insects, spoken and sung by living beings, roughly a decade before the “smartphone”, which is probably the most stupid, final creating of mankind. The Alzheimer ensemble still exists and fully supports this initiative of celebrating the 24th year of its first of two published albums on vinyl. The spirit of our group will never be captured by robotic “intelligence”. ZentaSkai undertook a period of research into the underlying structure and organisation of the human brain
before writing ‘The Architecture Of The Mind’. The Berlin-based artist then took what had been learned and
kept it in mind when writing the music that marks Mask's first album release. It comes with extensive
background notes on each track, and an operational manual of sorts - notes from the artists as to the effects
each piece will have on those who hear them.
"The message conveyed by this album is that life itself is filled with music, but our egos often prevent us from
being in harmony with this symphony. Inner chaos and silence can be challenging to bear, leading us to seek

The gorgeous 'Mind Mapping' opens up with deep and dubby drums and lush harmonies that soothe you to

organic found sounds. 'Fügung' keeps the deep and introspective moods coming before the crisp tech of
'Flow Dreaming' ups the ante with more drive and layers of vocal whispers, hi-hats and smeared dub chords.
Elsewhere the likes of 'Quiet Reflection' lean into the groove with swirling pads and one-word vocal sounds
drifting through the air over propulsive drum loops, and 'Boiling Range' suspends you in deft synth loops
amongst the stars over a prickly house beat.
The superb synth craft and well-designed grooves continue through the dusty deep house of
'Karl-Marx-Allee' and minimal dub of 'Dynamic System' before the elegant melodic techno of 'Apeiron' and
dreamy synthscapes of 'Parallel 30' close the album in a reflective fashion.

Ifach continues its new series of reissue projects with an expanded version of Baby Ford & The Ifach Collective's Sacred Machine album, which has been lovingly remastered by Dubplates & Mastering for the occasion. When the first cargo ships from Western Europe docked in Klaipėda after the fall of the Iron Curtain, no one could have imagined that a completely new and unknown musical culture would arrive in Lithuania along with them. It was the first city in this country to get a taste of what was then called electronic rave music. Did you know that Iceland had its own rather influential rave scene back in the 1990s? Whatever the answer to that question, you will want to check out this first-ever collection of anthems from that era which is now on vinyl for the first time. This collection came on Thule offshoot label TMT Entertainment as a CD in 1992 and features memorable and timeless tracks from back then, many of them now with cult status. It's called Alsaela, which translates as "ecstasy" and gives you some idea of what to expect from it. It features a non-stop selection of old school rave alongside some lost and previously unavailable classics by Agzilla & DJ L.S.K and some unreleased gems from Ajax. A great bit of history that still does the trick.
