Established in the 1930s, Novesta is a brand that’s not only known for its unique sneakers but also for producing in Europe. For Novesta, it’s not just about fashion – this company is dedicated to manufacturing shoes according to the highest environmental standards. That’s why Novesta solely uses certified materials such as natural rubber, organic cotton and linen to produce sustainable footwear pieces of the highest quality. Novesta shoes are hand-made and finished with the signature tire marks around the outsole.

The German Army Trainer by Novesta comes directly from the archives of the brand, and the production of these Bundeswehr indoor sneakers, also known as GAT, probably represents a small paradox of the cold war. Originally developed by adidas for the Bundeswehr (German army), the brand had this athletic shoe made for the military by the political opponent in the Eastern bloc. Apparently, this contradiction was neither a problem for the Bundeswehr nor for the communists in Czechoslovakia. Recently, the Novesta GAT has been revived at its historic production site.
