Theme Ltd presents two new releases from resident artist GAIKA
, https://www.somersethouse.org.uk/residents/gaika also featuring THE NARRATOR and Liu. The two tracks circle between various influences and bear a bright flash of versatility from the artist and his collaborators. ‘Racing Gloves’ is underscored by THE NARRATOR’s melodious, delicately discordant passages. It’s then supplemented by GAIKA’s visceral, close-to-home rap style and calculated production. This textural balance, the two voices in tandem, makes for a perfect synchronicity. ’S Composites’ featuring Liu, guides the listener between the gentle throes of multilingualism. It’s a unique mix of ethereal melodies supported by a classic RnB beat, enriched by a soft, swelling droning that seems to mimic breathing. As the track inflates and deflates, we’re carried by Liu’s honeyed vocals to her countdown, and the track’s final minute-long ‘breath’.

The second release from the My Favorite Soul label is a 7-inch featuring singer Keyco. This ambitious project features Keyco's empowering vocals, recorded with a live band assembled once again by producer Chick-d.

Side A, titled ‘Watashi Jishin,’ is a cover of the track from Ayumi Ishida & Tin Pan Alley Family’s classic 1977 album *Our Connection*. The cover retains the original’s spoken word sections while infusing a touch of Latin funk into the sophisticated city pop vibes, giving the song a warmer feel. (It's also worth noting that a recent cover of "Bye Bye Jet" from the same album by Muro featuring Keyco remains fresh in memory.)

Side B, ‘I Am,’ is a cover of the hidden gem by neo-soul duo Kindred the Family Soul from their 2003 album “Surrender to Love”. This track features a soft and warm band arrangement, with standout contributions from Swing-o (of 45trio) on keys and Tsuyoshi Kosuga’s mellow guitar. However, the real highlight is the heartfelt harmonies shared by long-time collaborators Keyco and Mika Arisaka, whose gentle and beautiful vocals make this recording truly captivating.

An analog single of Tatsuro Yamashita's classic cover, which was previously only available for digital release! It includes "Koukiatsu Girl" newly mixed for this analog release, and the lead song "That Must Be September" from the latest original album "dreamin'" on the B-side. The song was written, composed, and arranged by Junk Fujiyama's sound creator, Tatsuki Kamiya, who has worked on all of Junk Fujiyama's recent works, creating an ongoing city-pop sound.

As (Tocotronic discoverer) Myriam Brüger recently said so beautifully after the first EAT THEM show in Berlin: “Finally a really uncool band again!” That was actually meant as a big compliment!

In keeping with the holistic aspect of the project - and complementing the band name - titled "ALL", the album covers the full spectrum: from drum machine and sonic youth guitar melange, nervous post-funk to anthemic lo-fi indie -Rock, everything an indie heart desires can be found here.

The first single released today is “Do You Love Me When I’m Dead?”, a catchy song that takes place sonically where it is most beautiful in the rich history of suburban pop: in the garage. The piece reflected the live line-up, which was expanded to include bass and drums. The beat clatters happily and the open guitar chords flow! However, Hofmann transcends the suburbs with reverberated singing about an emotional urge to move and flies into the city, the disco or even through clouds and the landscape.

The Psyché France collection, dedicated to a certain French alternative pop, has more surprises in store with this 9th volume! This new immersion in the 60's and 70's will astonish you with curiosities concocted by psychedelic visionaries and forgotten mavericks. Start the adventure with Gascon troublemaker Jacques Filh and his striking anthem about the famous Drugstore des Champs-Elysées, before listening to the highly cult Calcium, whose drummer was Alain Sireguy, and Jacqueline Taieb. Very rare 'Anita' by Claude Guilain, who was a member of the group L'assemblée, will delight fans before a roaring instrumental by the Electric Max Band (alias Jean-Pierre Castelain), followed a De Roubaixyesque track by Patrick Roche and the sensual 'Femme' by Patcho. More after the inevitable band Triangle, Guy Skornik will open the side B with 'Gurdjieff', from the album 'Pour Pauwels', before Voyage and especially Quo Vadis, produced by eminence grise Igor Wakhévitch, give this side a more Rock-like feel. Kosuke Shimizu of mama!milk releases his first solo album on vinyl. The gentle and sincere passion that blows up like a vapor and the carefully spun creaking layers of concrete sound are just beautiful and fragile melodies delivered from the bottom of the sound. Based on his work with mama!milk, a group that brings an aesthetic and beautiful worldview from the city of Kyoto to the world, double bass player Kosuke Shimizu is known for his work in the low range of the psychedelic pop band Labcry and in numerous session work, including with EgoWrappin'. This, his first solo album, clearly highlights his talent as a composer/sound creator.

Every aspect of her dazzling, multifaceted output interrogates the way we experience the world around us - be it solo microtonal explorations, site-specific installations, or commissions for leading New Music ensembles. Shenfeld balances orchestral ambition and compositional rigor with the joy of noise, and granular detail. Under the Sun provides a daring expansion of that musical vision, a series of pieces exploring change and repetition, deep time and the ephemeral moment, equilibrium, and imminent threat. Composed and produced between a studio in Berlin and on-site at one of the world"s deepest marble quarries in Portugal, the album"s powerful sounds are a meditation on the natural world, wrestling with the looming threat of catastrophe and crisis, and the power of community and collaboration to enact change. Our environment is more than just an abstract theme, it is interwoven into Under The Sun"s very sonic DNA. Field recordings taken deep within the still-active quarry in Portugal were recorded, quite literally, under the scorching sun on one of the hottest days on record in the country. Thundercat has teamed up with Tame Impala for his brand new single, "No More Lies." This is the first new Thundercat song in over three years and comes ahead of a slew of tour dates for the bassist, who has performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes, among others, before heading to Australia, Asia and the UK this summer.

The duo of Bruner (Thundercat) and Parker (Tame Impala) are musically made for each other and electrify listeners. With "No More Lies," the duo hits the sweet spot between their two individual, complementary styles with uncanny precision. A new world of Makoto Kawamoto never seen before has been created.

Love & Light' is the third album from UK singer-songwriter Tom Speight. The record is both a wonderful evolution in Tom's songwriting, and perhaps his most personal, heartfelt work so far. Title track 'Love & Light' is dedicated to Speight’s older sister, Cathy.
