Guttr is not only a collective of respected legendary Hip Hop emcees and up and coming artists, but also a mindset. Guttr is a collective, and in a sense, Rap’s first unionization. The entire project was produced by Havoc from Mobb Deep and spearheaded by Executive Producer, Storm. This debut project is front-manned by West Coast renowned lyricist Ras Kass and Philly's newest buzz, R.J. Payne. The two share sharp bars along with a star studded list of stellar guest features. With Havoc supplying the entire album's soundscape, the music is respectfully reminiscent of the classic Mobb Deep albums we all know and love. Having a West Coast lyrical perspective by Ras Kass on this production is like having Kendrick Lamar on a QTip track. This combination creates a sound that is different, unique, and magical. 79rs Gang originally formed in 2013 when Big Chief Romeo Bougere of the 9th Ward Hunters and Big Chief Jermaine Bossier of the 7th Ward Creole Hunters put their differences aside and came together to build a bridge with music, releasing a traditional Mardi Gras Indian music album (Fire On The Bayou) in 2014. Today, Jermaine and Romeo—working alongside writer/ producer Eric Heigle (Arcade Fire, The Soul Rebels, Lost Bayou Ramblers)—have created an album that is rooted in the unique traditions of New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian culture, while launching that culture forward, bringing each track to dance floors and block parties around the world.

2022 RZA LP, who reprises his own Bobby Digital Production Persona for this one, produced in association with DJ Scratch. Back in 1998, RZA had already cemented his status as Wu-Tang Clan's man behind the boards, producing the entirety of the group's respective solo albums. But when it came to his own breakout moment, the producer opted to introduce the world to Bobby Digital, a cartoonishly hedonistic mad-rapping alter-ego and grew so fond of the character that he released another album under the moniker before finally delivering 2003's Birth of a Prince as the RZA. Now it seems Bobby Digital is back in the picture and potentially set square up with his host. On Friday, RZA announced a new album, RZA vs. Bobby Digital, with the release of the hard-hitting new single, "Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater." According to a press release, production on the album is handled by DJ Scratch. "Giving Scratch the reins as a producer and me taking the reins as an MC, that's what frees me up creatively and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don't have to be focused on everything," the producer noted in a statement. The new single marks the second Bobby Digital drop of the year, following "Pugilism," which was slated to be featured on the long-rumored project, The Cure, but seems to be a part of another upcoming collection of songs under the moniker titled Digital Potions. However, neither of those projects have a firm release date at the moment.

It was the early 2000's in Jacksonville, FL. Pre-social media, the Myspace Era. The acclaimed indie rap quartet, Asamov had recently put Duval County's underground Hiphop scene on the map, and their triple-threat frontman, Therapy aka Paten Locke was searching for some new inspiration. Paten would find the spark he was looking for in the newly minted couple making 'Heavenly Noise' in Jacksonville nightclubs - Batsauce and his wife, Lady Daisey. With Batsauce on the beats and Lady Daisey providing vocal harmonies (and graphics for the group), Paten found himself surrounded by a new creative energy that allowed him to relinquish the reigns on the production side and focus on his pen-game. Thus, The Smile Rays were born and they immediately started shinin'. Their soundscapes were rooted in funk, jazz and soul - sticking to a similar formula of eras past but adding twists and turns to make it their own. Their lyrics & song concepts were uplifting and hopeful. Their chemistry on stage was undeniable. With their electric live show and eclectic makeup, the trio took Jacksonville by storm and the world took notice. Paten's experience with Asamov opened doors for the group and soon they had their first deal on the table - a 12" single with Germany's Jakarta Records for their beloved anthem for the babies, 'A Toast'. On the heels of their initial 12", they were enlisted for the 'Rawkus 50' and released their first EP. Soon to follow, Japanese label 'Subcontact' offered to release another 12" plus their debut full-length album. That release became Party...Place. and it was released in 2007 in Japan only, on CD. Now for the 1st time ever, the debut album from The Smile Rays is available on all DSPs + limited vinyl pressing.
