Warzone were a cornerstone of the Nyhc scene, sharing the stage with legends like Agnostic Front, Cro-mags, Murphy’s LAW, Youth OF Today, and many more. First-ever Vinyl Reissue. Limited Edition OF 500 Copies ON Black Vinyl IN Gatefold Sleeve With Double-sided Insert AND Liner Notes BY Stefano Gilardino. Founded in the northern Italian port city of Ravenna in the summer of 1980, S.I.B. (Swelling Itching Brain) was comprised of former members of new wave covers band R.N.A. Transfert, singer Tracy Crazy a huge UK Subs fan. The band’s scorching live performances drew a loyal following, leading to an approach by L.M. Records, Ravenna’s foremost punk and new wave imprint, to cut Third World War, their sole LP. The band’s sound was a very personal one, with reggae, punk, hardcore and new wave all part of the mix—too varied for an audience strictly loyal to genre boundaries. Unjustly overlooked following the group’s demise, we are pleased to give Third World War the reissue it deserves some 40 years later.

Deeply inspired by Aleister Crowley’s esoteric thinking , Thelema are regarded as one of the crucial 80’s post-punk acts from Italy. Orignally released in 1986 Tantra was the band’s debut album, a unique chemistry between occultism, acid guitars and pagan rhythms.

Emerging from the northern market town of Grantham in the early 1980s, English Dogs reached the punk spotlight opening for Charged GBH and Discharge. Debut album Invasion of the Porky Men features the band’s original line-up, with drummer Andrew Pinching, bassist Mark ‘Wattie’ Watson, guitarist John Murray and vocalist Pete ‘Wakey’ Wakefield, the hardcore focus very different from the metal direction they would take after Wakey moved on and Gizz Butt added his guitar pyrotechnics. This debut disc is a must for all UK hardcore fanatics, who like their punk delivered in raw, unadorned thrash mode.

It’s 1980 in Orange County, California, and Punk Rock has been scorching the ‘burbs for a few years. Eddie Joseph has been on the Southern California scene the entire time, plotting his poisonous rock’n’roll maneuvers since the mid 1960s when he began playing in garage bands. Eddie had been honing his skills on roots music and swinging teenbeat well in advance of his foray into a new, seedy, violent punk blitzkrieg. There’s a master plan at work here, and it involves select players depending on which direction Eddie needs to bleed out of his system. The recruitment of Mike Patton and Matt Simon of OC legends THE Middle Class get Eddie AND THE Subtitles rolling for a slew of shows with comrades Black Flag, Adolescents, Circle Jerks and every other degenerate crew in the radius. A DIY imprint called No Label Records is formed (with literally NO Labels on the vinyl!) and the first single “Fuck You Eddie!” is unleashed. Recorded in Fullerton by JON ST. James at his legendary Casbah studio (The Vandals, Social Distortion, Berlin), these sessions also yielded a handful of tracks that would appear on the exceedingly rare Skeletons In The Closet LP (No Label Records, 1981). “Zombie Drug Killers,” “No Virgins In Hollywood,” and “American Society” (the short fast loud version covered by L7) appear here as the opening trio on this newly re-sequenced reissue. Geza X is also on board to produce a handful of tracks with peripheral Subtitles including Nicky Beat (germs, Weirdos) among the sessions’ players. The results here are another manifestation of Eddie’s one true love. Even as a punk allegiant, songwriting, sound and style are the priority. The dusted and dark goth-pop of “Magic” and “Stream of Consciousness” are crucial to the plot, setting a unique tone that works in a sea of one-dimensional scene releases, taking full advantage of Geza’s synth-mimicking microtonal guitar techniques. A tribute to Dave Dacron, chief miscreant of Dangerhouse Records’ Rhino 39 is also set to tape as consolation to X, as Dacron’s 16 year old life was tragically cut short in an automobile accident in 1980. But the party rocks on with covers of “Louie Louie” (also appearing on the elusive Fuck You Eddie! single) and “We Gotta Get Out of This Place,” as a testament to Eddie’s obsession with the timeless now-sounds of his delinquent adolescence. Friends and fellow freaks JON Blair (of surf cats JON AND THE Nightriders) and Bobby Paine (later of rockabilly hepsters THE Paine Brothers) lend their own song-smithery for four more originals: “Boppin’ Little Bobcat, ”“Treat me Right,” “Gina” (covered in 1984 by Josie Cotton and again in ‘89 by Stray Cats) and “Your Head’s In The Right Place,” respectively. Skeletons In The Closet remains an unusual and rare artifact in the ashtray world of punk, DIY and outsider music, and Slovenly Recordings is blasted to present it to the world one more time.

This recreation of the Turning Point self-titled 7” from 1989 is the second release as Revelation Records reissues the band’s out-of-print catalog. From New Jersey, Turning Point were the state’s answer to the hardcore movement of New York and Connecticut of the late-’80s, playing up and down the East Coast with Chain OF Strength, Bold, Judge, Burn, Mouthpiece, and many more before disbanding in 1991. Jade Tree and Think Fast! Records released the band’s catalog as a discography in the early 2000s so none of the releases have been issued as stand-alone records since they were first put out.

The legend of Crime looms large among punk aficionados the world over. Formed in the mid-1970s, the band's dual-guitar sound, confrontational image and sleazed methodology still serve as inspiration decades later. With only a handful of singles released during their active lifespan, Crime's legacy grew significantly as archival recordings began to trickle out in the early 1990s. Of all these excavations, San Francisco's Doomed was one of the first and certainly one of the most powerful. Culled from 1978-79 studio demos and rehearsal tapes, San Francisco's Doomed captures the frenzy of Crime's sound in a fittingly loose, devil-may-care framework. Side one is a gloriously unpolished assault of classic, gutter-level punk with vicious live set staples like "Feel The Beat" and "Piss On Your Dog" taking marquee placement over the more well-known singles tracks. Side two finds Crime taking aim at the so-called New Wave, augmenting their attack with ripped odes that bear the direct influence of science fiction and rockabilly on the group. Few recordings from US punk's first wave match the raw intensity heard on San Francisco's Doomed. As Michael Stewart Foley writes in the liner notes, "Unimpressed with the once idealistic counter-culture and all the bands associated with it, Crime declared itself San Francisco's First And Only Rock 'N' Roll Band. Dressed in police uniforms and driving sonic ice picks through listeners' eardrums with the volume cranked past 10, they looked more like a street gang that might take your wallet and slash your face with a switchblade just to watch you bleed. But despite the band's best efforts to stand apart, Crime could have come from nowhere else, at no other time."

Formed in late 1977 in Darlington, UK, legendary punkers Major Accident were initially influenced by the Pistols and the Clash. A very sad fate befell their early studio activities: both their first recording sessions in 1980, which was supposed to be their debut single (Terrorist Gang/War Boots) and the following one, which produced a completely mucked-up, unusable first edition of this LP, remained unreleased for years. It took until late 1982 for their first proper release to see the light of day: produced by Donkeys guitarist Neil Ferguson, their debut album Massacred Melodies finally came out on Step Forward, supported by a full UK tour with label-mates Chelsea. The distinctive 'Clockwork Orange' image (they were the first punk band to adopt the look from Kubrick's famous movie, which was banned in the UK at the time and impossible to see anywhere) and their song writing, by far more peculiar than the average Uk82 punk band, allowed them to grow a sizable following, and their classic sleeve artwork by Paul Dillon started appearing on the back of more than a few black leather jackets.

Originally released in 1979 on their own Disposable Records, this record was the brainchild of John Irvine in the UK. The record was pressed in a tiny edition, was played on John Peel several times and vanished without a trace. An excellent example of the UK DIY scene of the time later popularized on the Messthetics compilation series. It ranks number 12 in the top 100 DIY singles list that ran in Ugly Things issue #78. We’ve repressed it in an edition of 400 on red, purple, double mint green and olive green vinyl.

Mirroring the original double-sided “Travelin’ Band”/“Who’ll Stop the Rain” 45, which dropped in January 1970, this release showcases what were the band’s newest songs in a live setting. Side A features the Royal Albert Hall performance of the song from April 14, 1970, and marks the very first release of this rare recording. Side B, meanwhile, offers a live version of “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” recorded at the Oakland Coliseum, and previously released on the platinum-selling live album, The Concert.

Hailing from Britain’s formerly industrial heartland of North Yorkshire, The Burial was a forward-facing ska-punk/Oi band with a strong Left orientation, channelling 2Tone, Northern Soul, punk, and folk influences. Rhythm guitarist Eric ‘Barney’ Barnes made sure the world knew these skinheads were antifascist and the use of a full horn section made their sole LP, A Day On The Town, stand out. Unlike the Redskins, who soon moved to the student circuit, The Burial remained embedded in the working class communities from whence they came; this fine, often overlooked LP will be devoured by all fans of ska-punk and Oi!.

Punk only hit Italy in 1980, and the hardcore scene followed straight after confirming itself as one of the most active and interesting scenes in the world. Back in the day most of the bands came from the north of the country, among them: Negazione, a Turin based band which soon became one of the crucial Punk-Hardcore realities in Europe. Originally released by German label We Bite Records in 1988, "Little Dreamer" was Negazione's second album. Compared to their debut release this second effort shows a first step towards a more eclectic sound approach where thanks also to an evident growth in terms of technical skills the band's original inflamed energy opens up to a wider expressive variety of speeds and dynamics.

Sabotage Organized Barbarian, best known by their acronym S.O.B were part of a hardcore punk movement in the 80s that envigorated Japanese youth along with other acts like Gism and Gauze. The ravaging tempos and punishing aural densities grappled with the ears, and their sphere of influence quickly broke the banks of their native Osaka, with acts like Napalm Death acknowledging the bands importance for their own sound and grindcore to come.

In 1988, S.O.B teamed up with Alchemy Records founder Jojo Hiroshige, and his prolific Japanoise band Hijokaidan to form S.O.B Kaidan. With Hiroshige’s crushing distortion squeals stacked on top of S.O.B’s high-tempo percussive aggression, the two made quick work of anything that dared to obstruct their path at the cross-sections of hardcore and noise.

Their only LP Noise Violence and Destroy remains the only relic of their collaboration, and has become hard to find. The initial batch of 3000 LPs were quickly snapped up, and the brief CD runs that followed are now rare items. As part of the Alchemy Records Essential Collections series, P-vine is thrilled to reissue Noise Violence and Destroy on limited edition vinyl for the first time with an iconic Japanese obi strip attached.

Bristol Punk Pioneers Disorder formed around 1980, during the second wave of UK punk rock. Their approach to DIY ethics was so deep that they decided not to sign to Riot City, but to create a label of their own, for a bunch of classic singles the average distortion level of which led BBC DJ John Peel to describe Disorder as sounding like "shit". In fact, unlike many contemporaries like Crass or Conflict, Disorder showed no ambitions in stylistic experimentation: their debut LP 'Under The Scalpel Blade' is one blast after the other of pure rage, packaged in two-minute bursts of hyper-speed drumming, distorted guitars, and screaming vocals. The Fits were a punk rock band from Blackpool, Lancashire, England. Originally released on Rondelet Music, this EP entered the UK Indie Chart in December 1982 and peaked at number 44.

Death Sentence was certainly a band of its time as the looks of the boys suggest with their boots, studded jackets and spiky hair. The four songs on this Ep epitomize everything to love about that genre. It is fast and basic, it is sloppy, it is snottier than a six-year old on a rainy day, it is pissed, spontaneous and distorted.

Re-issue of Naked Raygun's - Jettison on Transparent RED Vinyl! Naked Raygun's finest work came at a pivotal point in hardcore's nadir, and Chicago's finest did not disappoint with Jettison! The band is tightly wound, and whether they're ploughing straight ahead or experimenting with groove, Naked Raygun fill the air with grit and texture. Jettison is their masterpiece.

Re-issue Naked Raygun's 'All Rise' the second full-length album recorded by Chicago post-hardcore band in 1985 - on White Vinyl! Chicago punk legends Naked Raygun are famously, the first live band Dave Grohl ever saw, and even opened for the Foo Fighters at Wrigley Field, Chicago, 2015 All Rise was the first Naked Raygun album to feature Pierre Kezdy on bass and Eric Spicer on drums, though all of the album's songs had been written by vocalist Jeff Pezzati and guitarist John Haggerty before Kezdy and Spicer joined the band.

Reissue of Rudimentary Peni's stunning debut 12-song 7". Recorded in 1981 at Street Level Studios and originally released on their own Outer Himalayan label. Skating the lines of punk, post-punk and goth, Paranoia was formed in the northern potter’s town of Stoke On Trent from the ashes of politically-oriented protest group, Civil Defence. With the Brereton Brothers on drums and guitar, and bassist Mick Edgington and his wife Jan on vocals, the group had an intimacy not often encountered in punk, their outlook and northern location bringing them onto Riot Squad’s Rot Records for this sole LP. The music is fast, bold and deals with pertinent themes, “Vietnam,” “1984” and “My World” protesting political failures, “Dead Mans Dreams” and “Man In Black” edging towards the gothic. An overlooked classic that reflects the underground musical shifts of the early 1980s.

Improved Sequence brings back to life an essential weirdo hc-punk ripper from Berkeley legends Fang. This is where it all started in 1981 when Fang guitarist Tom Flynn and bass player Brian Beattie released this incredible 7" documenting the 'experimental' in yr face sound they soon refined on 'Landshark'. Remastered by Brian Pyle and featuring the original artwork this is as good as it gets and we dare say... a classic!

Article 58, named after the Soviet classification for counter-revolutionaries, were formed in Scotland by Gerri McLaughlin (vocals), Douglas MacIntyre (guitars) and Ewan MacLennan (bass), with Stephen Lironi (drums) on these recordings. The group existed for a short period of time, burning brightly before burning out. A single, ‘Event To Come’, was produced by Postcard Records’ Alan Horne and Malcolm Ross and released on Josef K manager Allan Campbell’s Rational label. Article 58 were the opening group on many bills in Scotland, including support slots circa 1981 with A Certain Ratio, Scars, Josef K, Delmontes, Bauhaus, Restricted Code, among others. Josef K invited Article 58 to support them on some dates in England to promote their only album, ’The Only Fun In Town’, after which Article 58 recorded tracks for an as-yet unreleased album. One track, ‘Reflection’, did surface on a cassette/ zine product (‘Irrational’) released by Rational Records. However the teenage tension and strain of all that accompanies being in a group proved too much and Article 58 split up at the end of 1981. ‘Event To Come’ was to be the only single released by Article 58. The B side, ‘Icon’, is a previously unreleased recording. Both tracks are presented in a brand new sleeve designed by The Creeping Bent Organisation for release on the Optic Nerve label.

As some of you may know, the Strike Under song “Closing In” was used in our film Industrial Accident but for fans interested in a deeper look at the artists who helped shape the label’s origins, this EP marked the first legitimate release by WAX Trax! Records and was responsible for officially launching the independent label. This important piece in the story of WAX Trax! has been out of print since the early 80s and we’re very happy to offer it once again under the WAX Trax! imprint.

WAX Trax! has been built on punk, trash, art and dance from the beginning. As the label celebrates its 40th Anniversary. Immediate Action is the perfect symbol as we begin to recognize the 1980-2020 timeline.

‘Hasta el Final’ is surely the best album made by Subterranean Kids, absolute pioneers of hardcore Barcelona and indisputable references for any national hardcore band, and we are tremendously excited to announce their reissue on BCore. Originally released in 1989, it is the first time that the album has been reissued on vinyl and we do it in a wonderful remastered edition that also includes two bonus tracks - the two songs that came out on compilation cassette No. 92, also released in 1989 by El Lokal. -. In the words of Boliche himself, drummer and leader of the band, the recording of the album was a real nightmare due to the state of the recording studio, but none of that can be seen in the final result: it is his most complete work and the one that shows a more interesting and varied palette of what hardcore punk can be. Jayne/Wayne County's most audacious album is also possibly among the most important albums of its age. Released in 1979 just as the new wave was teetering on the brink of some kind of bold step forward, Things Your Mother Never Told You was one of the sudden shoves which sent it sprawling into its destiny. Electro-punk starts here. Producer David Cunningham takes only a portion of the credit; in years to come he would lead the Flying Lizards into the realm of heavily stylized electronica. But County's songs match his ambitions all the way, from the harsh, grating soundscapes behind "C3"'s muttered imprecations to the soft-spoken paranoia of "Waiting for the Marines," and onto "Berlin," the song that put into words everything David Bowie (among others) tried to convey about that city via image and insinuation. It's not all electro-art smarts, of course. "Boy With the Stolen Face" and the pouting, punishing "Wonder Woman" are archetypal Electric Chairs - a reminder of how, at the band's very best, they could run the Rolling Stones close in the swaggering rock & roller stakes - and the murder mystery "Wall City Girl" could have fallen off a forgotten volume of Nuggets or Pebbles. The title track, meanwhile, doesn't simply seethe with all the promise -- sexual, social, and societal -- which made County the superstar (s)he so very nearly was, it also lets listeners know why no one has ever truly snatched that crown away. Cry Of Angels is an eloquent, even anthemic defense of Enlightenment values on which the guitar textures and the hook around the chorus superbly complement one another. An artful blend of County's characteristic outrage and the pure pop genius that lay behind the garish accoutrements, Storm the Gates of Heaven jams its eight tracks between two undisguised classics, the anthemic title track and a so-optimistic reading of "Tomorrow Is Another Day, not to mention a stunning cover-version of the Electric Prune´s "I had too much to dream last Night"

Brummie punks Dead Wretched only managed to release 2 EP’s “NO Hope FOR Anyone” and “convicted/infiltrator”, but in those 2 releases were songs of such strength and catchiness that they still stand up today as some of the best songs to ever come out of the punk rock scene. They were originally called The Wretched, but on discovering that there was a band from Newcastle already with that name they decided on Dead Wretched. This rules. Absolute quality.

RED London was formed in 1981 in Sunderland, UK as a left-wing Skinhead band that most of all mixed socialist ideas with the working class mentality. Anthemic Oi! with nods of early protest folk and the New Wave atmosheres that were so popular among their contemporaries. This band is a great example of Early Eighties political Punk Rock which needs to be rediscovered for sure.

Record Store Day 2021 Release. Punk parodists Splondgenessabounds achieved more than most in the early 1980s, with three chart hits, including a top-ten smash and another in the top thirty. Formed above a mini-cab office in Peckham, southeast London, they scored a contract with major label Deram through a Battle of the Bands contest, debut single B-side ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ hitting number 7 on the singles chart in June 1980. An equally unlikely cover of Boer War saga ‘Two Little Boys’ hit the top thirty and initial single A-side ‘Simon Templar,’ based on the theme from The Saint, was also popular. This incredible debut album has each of these tracks and so much more, with plenty of fart songs and a closing dub of ‘Two Pints.’ This is the sound of the band at their magnificent best, a pick of the bunch for all Splondgs fans.

Belgian Waffles Records is happy to announce the new release Bw014. La Vie En Rose « Shitparade » 7’’. Four songs of pure punk nihilism with political lyrics drenched in social criticism. Recorded in 1978 and unreleased to this day. The band formed in Ghent, in the flamish north part of Belgium, from the ashes of Basta who released a single in 1977. They only lasted a few months and played a handful of concert before disbanding. Some members went on to form the well know synth wave outfit Nacht und Nebel.

Channel 3, aka CH3, was formed in 1980 in suburban Cerritos, about 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles, with frontman Mike Magrann, guitarist Kimm Gardener, bassist Larry Kelly and drummer Mike Burton. Signing to Posh Boy in 1981, their eponymous EP had the hit ‘Manzanar,’ which was championed by John Peel on the BBC. Posh Boy founder Robbie Fields was in the producer’s chair for their excellent debut, Fear of Life, a blistering punk assault on American values. Free from the heavy metal leanings of their later work, this no-holds-barred debut is a must for all fans of So-Cal hardcore.

"I And I Survive" is a 1982 EP by Bad Brains, released on the heels of their iconic self-titled debut album. The recordings come from the "Rock for Light" sessions, and were produced by Ric Ocasek. The release was previously out of print for nearly four decades.

This reissue marks the third release in the remaster campaign, re-launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains' recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing.
