Cinthie launched the Collective Cuts imprint 2019 with a VA from Kettama, Asquith, 9th House and S3A and has since gone on to release a follow up EP from the latter and a split EP from Anaxander and Azuni. As the name would suggest the label was built as a platform for Cinthie to showcase the music of her peers. Here we see this continue with a four track package welcoming back Asquith while introducing three new acts to the roster. Up first is Manuold with his ‘Classic Paradise’ cut, a disco-tinged house track employing soaring diva style vocals, bright keys, choppy bass hits and sweeping pad sequences throughout. Lobster Theremin’s Asquith then takes thing in a rave driven direction with bumpy breaks, heavy doses of sub bass and a hazy, resonant atmospheric pad. UC Beatz steps up next with ‘Picnic On A Roof’, laying down a smooth deep house feel via warbling Rhodes, cinematic strings, wandering jazz tinged bass and organic drums before Yard One round out the release with ‘Disjoint’, fusing a dynamic drum workout with gritty bass hits, bright synth sequence and emotive atmospherics.

Around six years ago, a bunch of djs, musicians and music lovers started gathering for weekly five-a-side football matches on a small, run-down pitch in Kreuzberg 61. Because much like music, football brings people together, wherever they are from. This collection has been a long time coming and collects tracks by players from seven different nationalities, all based in Berlin, united by both their love of the beautiful game as well as their passion for electronic club music. 11 tracks are on offer here (what did you expect?), each one dedicated to the composer’s football hero - a tribute to their unique skill and the beautiful moments they’ve brought us on the pitch. As such, the tracklist forms an all-star fantasy “Mannschaft". Compiled by player-coach Tristan Jong (aka Gratts) and made possible thanks to Markus Lindner (aka Delfonic), the package lives on the grass pitch between corner flags techno, deep house, disco and broken beats. It features music by established underground artists like Venezualan digger Trujillo, We Play House Recordings stalwart Harry Baldi or Juliano as well as debuts from the likes of Nemorna, James Martin and plenty more indeed. Five of the tracks are pressed loud onto vinyl as a club sampler - including full artwork comprising of some of the team pictures taken throughout the year - to the complete 11 track package. “Una Vida De Barrio”, then? Brixton electronic label Dream Diary announces the arrival of Abstract Chemistry EP by veteran UK producer and DJ Aubrey. The release marks the seventh in the label’s catalogue.

When Dream Diary were scouting talent for the label’s next round of releases, the name Aubrey came up with enthusiasm. The team met Aubrey in Berlin over a long weekend, inviting him to record his next release for the London label. The only stipulation in the arrangement required that the EP follow the Dream Diary tradition of being written and recorded at Octagon, the label’s home base and recording studio in Brixton.

Aubrey took up the offer and camped out at Octagon for a week in the fall, crafting a house and techno trifecta sprinkled with the studio’s choice collection of analog equipment. On Abstract Chemistry, Aubrey plays into his signature fusion of vigorous grooves and textured sound design, fitting perfectly into Dream Diary’s discography of spirited electronic music.

Active in the UK techno scene since the early 1990s, Aubrey’s prolific output spans nearly a hundred releases over a nearly 30 year career. His third full length album Gravitational Lensing was released earlier this year on Out Electronics Recordings, following recent releases on Assemble Music, Barba Records, Metroplex and Curle Recordings.

After Brexit, we thought it would be a brave attempt to snatch the Queen's interpretational sovereignty over the colour purple. So, we have named our new record just like that. Of course, this is only half the truth, as we named all six other UV050 compilation records after colours as well. The purple one, this one right here, is the second to last, completely with the wonderful artwork by Leipzig's Doppeldenk and four tracks to dance your ass off to. Krakow's Chino shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic FORBIDDEN VOICES sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Being a spiritual brother for a long time, it's actually the first time Berliner Johannes Albert releases on Uncanny Valley with his VISION UTOPIA, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with ROAMING THE STREETS: A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg's finest, blesses us with MOON OPERATOR, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries that no one has ever listened to before. A pretty interesting find for La Bella Di Notte who digs this super rare and weird white label offering with some retro-futurist imagery. Things kick off with "Space Disco". While the instrumental edit is a joyful, string-led number, the dub edit takes vibe on a deeper, more clubby tip. "Elephungk (Percapella)" closes side A, which is a wigged-out tech-house tune with garnishes of intergalactic effects. "Head (F.)lu(X.)" on the flip is a catchy, arpeggio-driven track with excellent sub-bass and a groovy mid-paced house tempo. The journey ends with "Guiro" a slow, electronic broken beat/synth workout with dark, alien undertones and anti-gravity keyboard sequences. Do not miss this one! Collectors item!

Cocada, a project which emerged as a diffuser of the musical talent present throughout Latin America, quickly spread its sounds to the four corners of the world, becoming a great initiative for electronic music. We couldn’t be happier by this time, Cocada’s first release as a record label is born with some respected artists and a beautiful story behind. The wonderful artwork was illustrated by the Brazilian artist Paula Dornelles, who dedicates herself to the production of experimental artworks, she was able to convey through all her creative potential the depth of the meaning present in the word “freedom", a small sample of Latin American talent also in the visual arts. On the album, who begins the work is the Brazilian duo, Diogo Vaille and Marcelo Abreu aka Bruce Leroys, with “Liberdade” (Original Vocal Version), a rework of a classic MPB song. The artists managed to perfectly merge the melancholy voice present in the song with a deep and dense bass line, bringing all the emotion present in the lyrics, causing goosebumps. However, the duo isn’t alone in this release. None other than Ricardo Villalobos has also left his trademark with a great remix, featuring fuller grooves and inserting multiple textures for the track.

4th Wave appeared on the Techno scene in the mid-90’s and like a comet shone blindingly before quickly passing rarely to be seen again.
Fortunately 2 glorious EP’s were left in its trailblazing wake; the Touched EP for Carl Craig’s Planet E label in 1995 and Attention Please for Kirk Degiorgio’s Op-Art offshoot label in 1996.
This release has been approved by Steve Paton - the producer behind 4th Wave - who wasn’t easy to track down. Lovingly remastered from the original first generation DAT masters, this EP adds a bonus track “Lounge Music” previously released on the Objet’s D’Art III Compilation and never before available on vinyl.
The music is classic golden-age UK Techno. Detroit influenced with a European twist - the original copies are scarce and only available for collectors prices on the used market. This re-issue makes all four 4th Wave Op-Art tracks available to a new generation and collectors alike.

Sweden's Jo-Rel aka Joel Alter spells out house music on HUMAN MATRIX with great effect. You can't resist being dragged along by a track that is well composed down to the last tiny little detail, but always comes across light and easy. Synth stabs for the masses. Will Saul is a key figure in UK dance music. Approaching his twentieth anniversary as a DJ, producer and label founder, Saul has helped break the career of key artists such as Leon Vynehall, Midland and Dusky via his Aus Music label, has himself played some of the world’s finest nightclubs and contributed to !K7’s storied ‘DJ Kicks’ mix series, which he also curates. Finally returning to the production fold himself with his first full-length album in thirteen years, ‘Open Too Close’ is a condensed trip through the influences, discovery and sense of history that have helped shape his career and drive a forward-facing, unblinking passion for new music. The record’s concept reflects Will’s enormous skill and knowledge as a DJ, and as it’s title suggests, “"represents what I play in a club if an 8 hour set was condensed into 10 tracks.”
