Mindscapes is the 4th album by Norwegian prog band The Windmill. All music and lyrics were composed and written by Jean Robert Viita and Erik Borgen. All arrangements by The Windmill. The creation of this album, Mindscapes, is a testament to The Windmill's unwavering dedication and boundless creativity. It consists of four tracks, including the epic Fear and three other shorter songs. The album was meticulously written and recorded from October 2022 to April 2024 and expertly mixed and mastered by Karl Groom, ensuring a high-quality musical experience for the listeners. Drawing inspiration from Camel, Genesis, and Jethro Tull, The Windmill has evolved their sound in this album. Formed in 1972 by former Colosseum keyboard player Dave Greenslade, the band also featured former Web and Samurai member Dave Lawson (keyboards, vocals), former Colosseum bass player Tony Reeves and drummer Andrew McCulloch (formerly with King Crimson and Fields).The calibre of the members of Greenslade ensured that the group would be innovative, ground-breaking and dynamic in their musical approach and would also be notable due to the absence of a guitarist within their ranks. Originally issued in November 1973, 'Bedside Manners Are Extra' was a fine album and featured such classic compositions as the album title track, "Pilgrims Progress", "Time to Dream" and "Sunkissed You’re Not".This new vinyl edition of this classic album has been remastered from the original tapes and was cut at Abbey Road Studios. From one of the last few concerts of King Crimson’s final US tour of the ‘70s, “usa” was issued as an epitaph for the band in Spring 1975 as a single album, at a time when doubles or even triple live albums were considered more the norm for live releases. Deleted towards the end of the vinyl era in the mid-1980s, it remained unreleased in the CD era until the expanded edition was finally issued in October 2002.
