Basically, the EG Chambord Bride by Paraboot and Engineered Garments is a classic men's shoe with a derby vamp, if it weren't for the leather strap running across the instep with a polished 1-pin buckle. This detail and the slightly raised U-shaped seam at the front of the upper turn this Paraboot shoe into a stylish hybrid design, which, like some styles from this brand, is fitted with a Norwegian-stitched Goodyear rubber sole that has been made suitable for outdoor use thanks to its rough tread.

Norwegian stitching was developed mainly for mountain and work boots, and the principle can be described as follows: The shaft is sewn to the sole by a welt. Two seams are visible: the so-called Norwegian seam, which connects the frame with the upper and the first stitch, while a seam created by small stitches connects the frame with the sole. However, it's also possible to do it without a frame - in this particular case, both threads are sewn directly on the leather of the underside of the upper. The advantages of the Norwegian seam are the rock-solid and flexible assembly technique, which makes the shoe waterproof and resoleable. From a technical standpoint, the advantages of Norwegian stitching are comparable to those of Goodyear stitching.

Paraboot insoles, heels and soles are still manufactured and vulcanized with the same composition as in the past. As a result, the rubber achieves the best material and mechanical properties in terms of comfort, adaptability and wear resistance. Paraboot's rubber compounds come from France and are vulcanized on their own presses in the company's workshop in Saint Jean de Moirans.

Paraboot x Engineered Garments EG Chambord Bride - features:

• upper: semi-gloss leather, pressed with the help of a smooth hot plate
• leather lining
• Norwegian stitching
• homemade vulcanized rubber sole
• handmade in France
• re-sole option: Goodyear and the Norwegian style offer the option of re-soling
• made in France
