For it's 46th outing, Klasse Wrecks recruits the Brooklyn based producer Gee Dee to it's ranks. Gee Dee aka Greg Droggitis turns in a wonderful and fully fledged collection of tracks that burst to the brim with atmosphere and sunny vibrations. True to the label's ethos, the music is as always, hard to pin down under one specific genre but instead slyly calls on various classic House, Electro and Acid tropes. The overall sound is one that is both universal and transcendent, feeling familiar but still surprising. 'Dream In Colour' is indeed an apt title for the EP as it spans the musical spectrum and is a lucid and vivid trip into the imagination of this new and exciting producer.

he collaborative bi-coastal project between Andi (nyc) and Machino (la) is dark, spiraling music that conflates the tension of running EBM basslines with the monstrosity of electro-saturated, industrialized beats. In 2021, Andi and Machino began sending music back and forth to each other virtually—thousands of miles apart—as they built upon their passion for creating off-the-cuff, dangerously degenerate dance tracks.

Parafernales, their first release out this summer on Mannequin, is a conceptual EP that deals with power struggles: love and lust, strength and destruction, dominating and domination. Andi's vocals are spoken, whispered, and yelled simultaneously, as if to mirror the mania of having control and losing it at the same time. The EP title, Parafernales, is a nod to Machino's first language of Spanish and stems from the idea of miscellany: it is parafernalia for drugs, or, simply, accessories for unsavory activities. With inspirations from turn-of-the-90s erotic thrillers to the Chilean post-punk band, Los Prisoneros, the duo collide in a manner that is unadulterated and, at times, completely unhinged.

Machino is an electronic performer and music producer from Mexico based in Los Angeles who started out making moody ambient, techno and has now pivoted towards industrial music. He has released several EPs on different labels such as Tresor and X-img. Andi is a DJ, producer and music journalist based in NYC. She runs the nine year strong label/party Synthicide in NYC.

Patricia Kokett follows up two critically-acclaimed esoteric techno releases on Knekelhuis (Bizarr [2020], Diabel [2018]) with a new EP – Psykhe – to be released by Isla to Isla on the 25th of april 2023 as a 12” vinyl and digital.

Psykhe sees Lithuanian musician and composer Gediminas Jakubka continuing to explore his distinct sound, but taking it in a new direction: a step away from the euphoric new age dance floor and into a significantly murkier, more precarious territory. Psykhe is meant as a sonic simulacrum of the artist's psyche during the pandemic – a quickened mind bred by a decelerated world. In that and other senses, the record is a modern take on the ‘80s/’90s Detroit ethos of dance music created for an illusory dance floor.

Incidentally (or not!), Psykhe is much more electro-based and darker – intent on delivering catharsis, but not euphoria. Das Risiko starts us off with a eurotrance-infused, punchy electro beat, housing a nostalgic melody and driven forward by a raw, ever-mutating bassline. Throughout this and other tracks on the record, we hear Kokett exploring his love for disembodied voices. On Sangre Seraph, their ghostly presence is felt strongly as they take center-stage in a sequence that feels almost Sleazy-esque. The wistful synths guide us into Love Your Ghosts – an electrific banger slathered in dreamy whalesong and a fitting companion for the just-before-dawn 4x4 vibes of Khaoss, forming the emotional peak of Psykhe. The closer, Eunuchy, epitomizes the record with its soft (and somewhat sad) kosmische background, accentuating a strong rhythmic core.

Awtomat Supabreakz has concocted a 9 tracks ep mixing electronic space-funk, beats and breacks loops on the label Ylgr Recordings.

Pure electro straight from Eupasia caves. A release from Velvet Skin, a new Electro alias from VIL, an influent Portuguese techno producer and DJ, co-founder of Hayes Collective and that already has released music on Klockworks.

Up next on Space Dust is Miles, exploring 4 variations on an other-worldly electro vibe with his 'Peeking Through Clouds' EP. The landslide-worthy bassline of 'Hole in the System' kicks off proceedings, with sharp claps and sizzling rides occupying the space left behind, while squelching stepper 'Light Years Away' presents itself as another wieldy dancefloor weapon on a US-garage tip.

On the flip, bass continues as the dish of the day through 'In Transmission', as moody synth work rides a subdued breakbeat. 'Peeking Through Clouds' boxes off the EP in an ethereal fashion... but this shimmering closer remains a floor-focussed weapon.

Plant43 wrote a trio of EPs over the winter season at the end of 2022 and the start of 23 and has been putting them out on his own Plant43 Recordings label. This third part from the man born Emile Facey is another emotional rollercoaster that conveys the wintry scenes in which they were written while also taking you on to the more warm and optimistic light of spring. Lithe electro rhythms and icy synths open up on 'Tidal Flexing' while 'Reflective Waves' gets a little darker and more intense. 'System's Edge' is a celestial cruise with quick, slick drums and masterful leads then 'Mind Drift' channels Drexcyian cyborg funk to close. The final part of the story comes on Colored Vinyl but only in limited quantities.

Richard Lamb’s second and (presumably) final release under this moniker is a bit of a special one. Lamb starts off with ‘Salt Lick’. A track with beautiful, lush, sunny sounds that lure you into an unexpected world of electro, heavy bass and more dance orientated tracks like ‘A Life In Harmony’. Following up his first EP ‘Automatic Tango’ on his own Montreal based Temple imprint, there’s still hints of early Moog greasiness but overall it’s a more decisive production compared to the previous one. Intricately layered percussion mixed together with dreamy pads take you on a journey to a hidden Utopia where tight arrangements and tribal-esque rhythms dictate the pace. Once more we are shown how versatile Lamb’s productions are and how he juggles genres freely, ranging from dub to electronica, experimental, idm and techno.

The second side of this EP features two remixes by non other than Norwegian DJ and producer DJ Sotofett. A heavyweight in the electronic music scene who needs little introduction takes on the EP’s title track ‘A Life In Harmony’ and turns it into two electro-acid pieces ready to tear up any dance floor, or anything else for that matter. Surrender to the acid and indulge in these masterful tracks.

Mayudepth who is a DJ and producer based in Tokyo will release her second EP “Angels from Hell feat. Umi Ishihara.” from Shiki Kyokai label. Featuring the talented film director Umi Ishihara. SIDE.B includes a remix by DJ Shufflemaster, who is a founder of Shiki Kyokai. The sounds loaded Umi Ishihara’s poetry reading will project memories and scenery from the wriggling age onto the dance floor.　

Part two of our retrospective takes our journey deeper into the woods with his unique brooding electro, vivid sparkling soundscapes and minimum for the maximum dirty brown The Hague Acid (tm). Whatever, I'm just gonna go ahead and say it... gorgeous and essential.

Under meters of concrete in central Cairo, a relentless buzz rebels and forms a melody. A tired man tunes his machines to catch a snatch of it, and accidentally creates a playground where these abandoned sounds can flourish. They develop a sense of humor and an acid tongue. A few children with bent ears find their way to an alley with an entrance to the playground. They would later describe what they heard as a delicious hybrid: one part cream, one part bubble gum. So, bend your ears and maybe you'll hear it too.

Aufgang B never disappoint with their rough sound excursions. Finally they continue the infamous Demo series with three techno tools rich in mind-melting sound design. Just what all of us have been waiting for!

Natural Sciences Recs and Harsh Reality Music team up for the first reissue of Henry Hektik's Motion P. Music, booted up as a 12" sampler for DJ's not yet consumed by the candyfloss. A figure who collaborated with M. Finnkreig and active in the 80's German underground and tape trading circuit, he disappeared off the grid, leaving few documents of his music behind, with the handful of remaining tapes swallowed by mould or fried in electrical accidents. What is left is true unhinged tracks from the edge, with six cuts of jacking proto-house (Haiwasa, T.B.A), night-stalker surveillance wave jams (Hong Kong Wedding Night), Black ops narco paranoia (Private Apocalypse) and static knuckle-dragging workouts (Here Comes Escape). A snapshot into a man on the edge!! Limited to 300 copies worldwide with insert and fanzine.

Producer & musician Handshaking continues the legacy of Finnish electronic music with the upcoming album ‘There was a chance’, due for release on May 19th of 2023. Handshaking is a familiar name in the Helsinki underground scene and has become known for surprise-filled and versatile DJ gigs and energetic live performances.

Handshaking’s 2020 debut LP Garden Clogs was a long-awaited work for the electronic and dance music audience. The limited 200 vinyl edition sold out during the release weekend. Image Magazine said the “Handshaking’s debut album is of the highest quality in terms of production value, which competes with peers like Yaeji, Peggy Gou and Jaakko Eino Kalevi”. Handshaking releases via PME Records, which is the biggest independent label in Finland, representing artists like Alma, Babel and AHO. Founded in 2012, the label has almost 30 artists in its roster with a wide variety of genres.
