Bands were imitating bands that were imitating bands that were ... you get the idea. Wobbler was something very, very different. In keeping with the original progressive ethos, they took inspirations from a wide variety of sources. 60s and 70s rock, jazz, electronica and extreme metal, to name a few. They combined these influences with a deep and astute understanding of what it was that made the best 1970s progressive rock tick. Re-issue of second album from Wobbler - Afterglow! After the success of their debut “Hinterland” in 2005, the band stretched forward to show a truer picture of the band’s inner nature. Many fans were asking for the early demo they did in 2003, and these tracks were re-recorded with the full band for “Afterglow”. The strong influence of black metal can be heard both in the surprising power and aggression of some sections, as well as the structure and tonality of many of the riffs. Paradoxically, “Afterglow” was also a more dyed-in-the-wool proggy prog rock album, with its epic-length compositions and detours into renaissance and baroque music. “Afterglow” was also a well-received record, scratching the itch that fans had felt for those early demos, and cementing the band's position as a leading light among "retro" prog bands.

Wizrd is a Norwegian rock band that dips its toes in all kinds of genres. From rock and indie to jazz and prog, Wizrd knows all the rules but deliberately break them.

Formed at the Jazz Conservatory in Trondheim, Wizrd's four-piece line-up consists of Hallvard Gaardløs (Spidergawd, Draken and more) on bass and lead vocals, Karl Bjorå (Megalodon Collective and more) on guitar and vocals, Vegard Lien Bjerkan (Soft Ffog and more) on keyboards and vocals, Axel Skalstad (Krokofant, Soft Ffog and more) on drums.

Since 2020 the band has been working on their debut album, produced by Norwegian film score composer and Jaga Jazzist drummer Martin Horntveth. The album was recorded in Studio Paradiso in Oslo by Marcus Forsgren (Bror Forsgren, Jaga Jazzist) and Horntveth. Bergen based musician and producer Matias Tellez (Young Dreams, Girl in Red) has mixed the album.

“Seasons” is a groovy, catchy and progressive masterclass, with beautiful vocal harmonies, awesome melodies, quirky jazz grooves and a rock’n’roll drive to die for.

In 1968 four of the five original members of The Wizards From Kansas formed a band called ‘New West’, and began playing in the Lawrence, Kansas area, at clubs and parties. Californian guitarist Robert Manson Crain joined the group soon thereafter, expanding to a quintet. Reaching on the same esoteric drift as Clear Light or Emitt Rhodes, the band unleashed an even excellent cover of Buffy Sainte-Marie ‘Cod’ine’, more in the vein of Quicksilver M.S.

Over the years of brave experimentation Without Letters have delved into a variety musical genres from noise-rock, krautrock to footwork, trance and hard techno. By filtering out what is the most sincere and engaging in their creative process, they have since rediscovered archives of early clubbing music, its social values and sound aesthetics. That provided fissures for getting around the notion of guitar as once rebellious, now obsolete instrument, its raw immediacy more potent now than ever.Without Letters debut album Abundance Supreme comes from Lithuanian club culture, its changes, desired or actually happening and from the parties we’ve been to in the past couple of years. It’s a manifestation of what happens despite the anxieties stemming from the ubiquitous state of abundance. Maybe Abundance Supreme is residue from the sexual revolution that never happened in Lithuania, us being its specimen in need for transition. The album is some palpable energy, a proposition yet to be voiced, not in theory, but through our bodies. Pulsing rhythms and piercing hoovers and stabs as suggestive ways of opening up, of being together in a shared space. Suspended between all this being a pretentious farce or potentially a quite pleasant, even pleasurable. Trance inducing rhythmical structures and the sharp guitar outbursts invoke krautrock inspired blissful harmonies without offering an escape. Dark, frantic pace underlies Without Letters set, with clear intent to cut through the hierarchy of performer and the listener, to melt all that into a playful, potentially ecstatic co-participation.

Witchthroat Serpent was created in November 2011 in Toulouse, France, by Fredrik (guitar/vox), Niko (drums) and Lo Klav (bass), with the aim to spread occult and powerful doom stoner. The band toured extensively throughout Europe, playing both underground shows in various countries and making it to big festival. In 2018, after the recording of the third full length, Lo Klav decided to leave the band and is replaced by Ügo. Then in 2020 Djé joined the band as second guitarist. In January 2021 the first recording of this new quartet is finally scheduled and gives birth to two new unreleased tracks, exclusively recorded for the split with Dead Witches. Now in 2023 the band is presenting the brand new album Trove of Oddities at the Devil's Driveway released on Heavy Psych Sounds.
