In the heart of Sheffield's electronic / industrial music scene of 1979, Peter Bargh and Mark Holmes created the experimental project Mein Glas Fabrik. This VOD release is a combination of their two cassette albums, recorded on simple equipment using tape loops, home made synths, samples, random radio frequencies and a legendary Shergold guitar. Death TV was favourably reviewed in local fanzine "Tigers on the Moor", Exotic Percussion followed soon after. While influenced by a wide spectrum of musical genres, Mein Glas Fabrik created a fusion of sounds, not adhering to any specific genre...expect the unexpected!

More than simply being a band, Addict Ameba is a wide Italian collective that makes brotherhood the weapon to live music together crossing all cultural boundaries. The driving force lies in the heterogeneous background of its members and the relative familiarity with different folkloric areas. The original and ambitious arrangements make the result a delicious soup! In this first work, their personal Afro-latin-beat reveals a sincere meeting between African and Central American traditions… for this reason they are against the drift of continents! The collective is connected to Al Doum and the Faryds, sharing some of their members, the same music label and the Guscio Studio where the album has been cooked thanks to the wisdom of the great master pirate. You can travel halfway between the Atlantic continents, where a gritty guitar deploys a solid knowledge of the stronger Latin-rock - you know the “Santana of Piola” is on board! - but it absorbs Funky and Tuareg riffs too, as well as brilliant psych deviations. Heavy horns abound with solutions and influences, blowing arias of Ethio-jazz or Cuban-Salsa crossings, such as Calypso and Caribbean progressions. However, it’s the rhythmic sailors section that supports all the dynamics of the sound with impeccable qualities of polyrhythm, sending seas of bodies into ecstasy; maybe they learn this rowing on a boat? Panamor represents "a profound union between living beings and objects in an increasingly divided World”. Such pirates of love!

The four original compositions now find themselves on a brand new 12” backed by remixes from Detroit’s Byron The Aquarius and Larry Houl. "Where Did Y’all Go?" expands on EOTH's previously established House sound and brings in elements of bedroom pop, with lyrical content exploring the modern conundrum of maintaining relationships in the age of social media. Not much is known about the Lyon native, but his music has built him a keen worldwide following since his debut productions surfaced in 2017.

The members of the Zonke Family from Nyamapanda, Zimbabwe, belong to the few remaining master musicians of the matepe, a type of lamellophone which belongs to the family of the mbira. This complex interlocking music is played on each instrument with four fingers, each employing independent rhythmic patterns which effects many psychoacoustic tricks on the listener's ear. This is the first time ever a full matepe ensemble is captured on a studio album. We hope this album is a step towards bringing this music to new audiences – as well as a contribution to its preservation.

Originally released in the mid-to-late '70s on "The Electric Jazz of Gus Giordano" album, The Johnny Frigo Sextet's covers of "Scorpio" and "Spill The Wine" get a long-overdue 7 inch release. Previously included on Ubiquity's Groove Merchant "Trippin" compilation in 1996 and then again on "Johnny Frigo's Collected Works" re-issue by Luv N'Haight in 2002, "Scorpio" has been on the radar for a while with "Spill The Wine" now getting a proper re-introduction to folks who may have been unfamiliar with the Sextet's other works.

Side A features an over-the-top funky version of “Scorpio” by the legend Dennis Coffey. The original in and of itself is considered one of the top tunes in the Funk (and sampling) canon but this cover takes it further w/ open drums, wild organ taking the lead and a thundering bassline holding it all down underneath. "Spill The Wine" on the flip transports the original into Latin meets Jazz-Funk territory w/ flourishes of Exotica heaped in for good measure.

The vinyl album is limited to 300 copies. “Dreamwalks” as well as the other songs on “A Dive Into the Subconscious” musically reflect the emotional level of memories and experiences of the producer. Drips Zacheer deals with central issues of his life, such as family, friends, travel and also fears and tries to reach the subconscious of his listeners through this sound game. The appropriately playful cover designs come from the Berlin artist and illustrator Rahel Süßkind. Drips Zacheer is a real beatgeek on the midi controller. The 25-year-old musician has been producing hip-hop instrumentals for almost ten years, which are based on LoFi, Chill-Hop, BoomBap, jazz and also progressive rock and Bossanova. Until he was 19 he grew up in Chalkida, the capital of the Greek island of Evia, until he moved to Rhethymno on Crete to study audio engineering. He started out in 2011 as a producer for a befriended hip-hop crew, and in 2016 he began producing beats for himself. Since then he has established himself as one of the most relevant producers in the Greek beat scene and with his choice of sounds shows that he has a knack for vinyl samples and harmonic arrangements. His upcoming album “A Dive Into the Subconscious” makes it clear that instrumentals are not only used as a background for rappers, but have earned their own standing in the scene. Too Numb to Know showcases Profligate continuing to shirk the heavy electronics of his early years for razor sharp pop. On 2018's Somewhere Else, Noah Anthony delivered catchy nuggets while adding live instrumentations, reinvigorating his songwriting and sonic palette. This new song-driven approach gained praise from Resident Advisor, Pitchfork and The Wire, exposing Profligate to new listeners. Anthony worked on Too Numb To Know while living on both coasts of the United States, but eventually completed the album in Cleveland, Ohio, where he currently resides. Anthony recorded demos in Philadelphia and in Los Angeles, which was a creatively-challenging, emotionally-depleting city for him - after losing the computer holding original recordings of Tntk to a thief, he took a friend's suggestion and moved to Cleveland where he finished the album, and added contributions from allies like Matchess, Lazy Magnet, Gel Set, Missions, and others. Tntk is about growth, reflection and change. Lead single "Hang Up" urges the artist's younger self to trust his instincts during chaos. Its message pairs with bright keyboards, a pulsing beat, and soft, alluring vocals - on the chorus, he croons "Nothing you create but love penetrates." It's an urgent, driving pop song that fuses electronics with rock instrumentation like the best of Alternative radio. "A Little Rain" and "My Days" feature evocative melodic and textural beauty. The latter's hopeful and assuring chorus is unexpected and welcome. Softer moments like these are interspersed throughout Tntk in between kinetic numbers like "No Clear Way" and "We Can Punish," or "A Stranger" reminiscent of his noisier, beat-oriented years. This varied approach and attention to detail is garnish to an already tight song cycle.

A download code is included. Runden is a collaboration by Martin Brugger (bass) and Simon Popp (drums), both of contemporary Jazz quintet Fazer, and neo-classical pianist Carlos Cipa. Their debut LP is a conceptual record reflecting on Minimal Music, Afrobeat, and Dub Techno of the late 90s/early 2000s. While Cipa's solo works build on clear harmonies, for the recordings of Runden he prepared the piano to make it sound like a faintly tonal percussion instrument and his mechanical patterns contrast the syncopated drum grooves of Popp and the deep and sparse basslines of Brugger. The musicians explore, over the course of seven tracks, the concept of circular music. Each piece is based on a four-bar-motif played in a loop and varied subtly but steadily over time, creating a sense of eternal recurrence and timelessness. This makes Runden a meditative but demanding record, that only grows with every listen.

In The Land of Silence is the first full length album by experimental artist Ireen Amnes. The founder of the London based collective Under My Feet. debuts on Sonic Groove with an immaterial journey contemplating suffering, liberation, the importance of affection and unity. This ambient album reveals a hidden connection between these human emotions. From anger and rejection, to love and unity, the sounds explored by the artist represent a recent journey within. Echoes of all unspoken words reverb into the wounds of time; that constant ebb and flow of existence; that relentless stomping of exchanges. She now sways in and out of consciousness, transported by nothing but his will to life, his ecstatic memory, his murmured love that now forms this soundtrack to her life.

Hey Existeers! The new Pudel Produkte release has arrived! This time, it’s more like a record for yellow press readers – due to the high celebrity density on the two tracks! First, there’s Richard Fearless. The guy has been on the “Mission Impossible” soundtrack and he was famous in New York and London as Death IN Vegas. He composed the music on this record and recorded it together with the slackers of Circuit Diagram, which is why the project was aptly named Death Circuit. That’s logical, that’s correct, excellent! One track of theirs is called “Strom Dub”, and the full length of it has been pressed onto the A-Side of the record. It sounds like Synthesizer music usually sounds: Sexy and warm and cold. The tears of technology dripping onto your head for eight and a half minutes while the spirit of the 80s sneaks in through the back door. Like the B-Side, this track is a grower, a slow creeper you’ll want to hear again and again.
