AMOR DE DIAS, the long-term collaboration between Alasdair MacLean (THE CLIENTELE) and Lupe Núñez-Fernández (PIPAS), release their sophomore album "The House at Sea" on Merge Records. This is not a "new"?Apache Dropout platter, but an archival sidestep into the Fugs n' fried view of their early beginnings. Before the Indiana trio cemented their unique red-level, distorto proto-punk they focused on a more obliterated bent on traditional forms. Fiddle, distortion and echo drive most of these songs, as sung by Sonny Blood, that tout distrust of banks, ballot uncertainties and magnetic heads. It's a bleaker vision than the recent Bubblegum Graveyard LP on Trouble in MInd, even with the blownout take on Chuck Berry's "Memphis, Tennessee" and hints of Holy Modal Rounders to Kim Fowley doused throughout these sides. Culled from the group's first two self-released cassettes - "Cha Cha" in 2008 and "Lysergic Choogle: Not for Pigs" issued a year later -- the 10 songs are equally formed by their recording in a grain silo and the group's Magnetic South studio as much as the songwriting. Born in a Metz's bunker during the 2006 summer, The Feeling of Love is at first the solo project of G.Marietta (A.H. Kraken's guitarist and singer, In the red records). Ephemeral idea that initially couldn't have gone further than a few short songs, belched and recorded for the tape label Luisance Sonore. The postulate was to play on the garage blues and no-wave's codes in order to find a primitive, repetitive and minimal idea of rock'n'roll. Finally, after 2 years playing gigs in Europe, and a few 7" out (Yakisakana, Floridas Dying, Rococo records, etc.), the "one man band" mutates: from a one-piece to a two-pieces, the Feeling of Love is more generally a three-pieces band, with Seb Normal (the Normals, Crash Normal,etc.) on drums, and s. (A.H.Kraken, Vingt Mille Punks) on keyboards. The Feeling of Love put out then his first two LP's, "Petite tu es un hit" on Yakisakana and "Ok judge revival" on Kill Shaman records. On the latter, the blues and his repetitive gimmicks that were the driving force to reach a trance state are being perverted by krautrock and psychedelism. A year after, the band carries on with the "kraut space garage" vein on his third album, on Born Bad records (mars 2011). Songs stretch out, the drums go more tribal, the synth hammers out his keys on an infinite highway, and the guitar gets lost in delay pedal's fog.

For the first 7" record released by Medical Records, we are proud to reissue the long lost and out of print 7" by Disco Volante. Disco Volante was essentially Terry Clarke (aka Terry Tanx) formed in London in 1982. Inspired by the early Bond films and their soundtracks (Disco Volante was a yacht in Thunderball), Tanx played live in a number or small clubs between 1982-1986. Using a small number of Roland instruments (TB 303, TR 606, MC-202, and SH-09), Disco Volante self released a cassette entitled "Traction in Rehash" now which is sadly lost. In 1984, the 7" single "No Motion" with the same title as A side and "Click" and "Punishment Tank (Live)" as the B side on Catalyst Box Records. Terry recollects that the recording only took 2 days, and the engineer had no experience with this style of music. The end result has a very DIY aesthetic despite the use of a professional studio. Unfortunately, the single was not commercially popular and received no publicity due to music press strike at the time. The single began to gain cult underground popularity in the 90s and 00s with the resurgence of new wave which resulted in a spike in prices for the long lost single. The track "No Motion" is a very catchy layered synthpop hit that is quite unique yet capturing the essence of the early 80s new wave sound very nicely. "Click" on the b-side is a march-like track with propulsive synthetic bass textures and monotonous analog drum beats. The final track "Punishment Tank Live!" is a track recorded live at the Red Box, London with a punk feel with intense delayed vocals, guitar and overlayed synth hooks. Beyond out of print and sure to appeal to lovers of the DIY coldwave and synth 7" revival and resurrection. Presented on high-quality thick transparent green 7" vinyl in a limited edition of 500 hand-numbered copies.

After a career as a comic book artist as well as a musician in the bands Zoppo and Avec-A, Yuri Landman began designing experimental musical instruments. Based on prepared guitar techniques, he built his first instrument in 2001 to solve the inaccuracy of instant preparations. In 2006 he got in contact with Liars. Developed over six years of prototyping, he fully realised the Moodswinger for them with commissions from numerous other musicians to follow. Yuri has custom built derivatives for such musical luminaries as Sonic Youth, Half Japanese, Enon, Lou Barlow, dEUS, The Dodos, Blood Red Shoes,Liars, HEALTH, Liam Finn, The Luyas, The Veils, Melt- Banana, Micachu & The Shapes, The Go! Sleeve art by Alexander Tucker We are delighted to announce the release date for our next Latitudes session, a recording by the very wonderful duo Grumbling Fur. Featuring two of our favourite people and musicians, Alexander Tucker and Daniel O'Sullivan. Both of these gentlemen have graced the series previously - Daniel with his Victorian prog-synth band Miasma And The Carousel Of Headless Horses, and Alexander with Ginnugagap, a solo session, and a guest appearance on a forthcoming set from Bardo Pond. We have long held a flame for Furrier, the Grumbling Fur album on the icy cool Aurora Borealis label. We quickly invited them for a session - but with little expectation of anything happening in the near future. This was a group whose members define the word prolific - O'Sullivan himself had at least four bands on the go at the time. Still, we're nothing if not hopeful. Lo and behold, he Fur came back with not only a date for recording, but the tantalising prospect of a new sound - more focussed and stripped back - with more op' sensibilities coming to the fore. The results are stellar. As soon as the loping breakbeat and pentatonic piano run of "Wylderness Waiting" kicked in, we knew he Fur had created something very special on our behalf - the extra space and minimal approach providing a wonderful backdrop to Alex and Daniel's instantly recognisable lyrical harmonies.
