Bound/Cured are two brand-new songs from the Richmond, Virginia/Asheville, North Carolina/San Diego, California, quartet Bleach Everything. Their first new recordings since 2019’s split LP with Integrity, Bound/Cured goes even further into both the pure violence put forth on 2018’s So We Gnaw LP and the melodic components introduced on the aforementioned Rftcc recording. Clocking at 1:29 and 1:08 respectively, both songs get in, get to the point, and then get out with razorlike precision, cutting exactly as intended. Thematically, “Bound” explores the uncertainty of luck and life and never truly knowing how it can, will, and can still shake out. “Cured” addresses the notion of figuring out how one must come to terms with the truth before death takes care of the task. It took you longer to read to this point than to experience both songs in their entirety.

Hidden Spheres is the alter ego of Manchester’s Tom Harris, who first made his mark on the underground circuit with his release ‘The Bloos’ on Moods & Grooves, before following it up with the much in demand ‘Waiting’ on Lobster Theremin offshoot Distant Hawaii. Here, Tom joins the Scissor & Thread family, the Brooklyn label founded by Francis Harris, and home to music that traverses a number of boundaries. Hidden Spheres fits right in - the five track 1985 EP blends house, broken beat, ambient, jazz and other elements into a heady brew. ‘King Tut’ starts proceedings, a laid back jazzy groove, rich in textures and soulful flourishes. ‘My Names’ touches on the UK broken beat legacy of 4 Hero and Bugz in the Attic - an off kilter groove layered with sweet jazz and house inflected licks. ‘Karl’ is a much more direct dancefloor track, albeit with the deepness that we expect from Hidden Spheres.The penultimate track ‘1985′ steps into the unconventional house vibes of Detroit’s third wave. ‘Soon We’ll’ finishes up the EP - a supremely jazzy piece built around the sax, piano and washes of strings and ambient elements - a superb closer for a deep and heartfelt release.

Now she's back with a surprisingly fresh 12” vinyl named Floating Herbert. The synthesizer (she calls him Herbert) supplanted the uplifting jazz samples from Münchner Jazz Bar. A slightly more mature mood took place of the lighthearted, uplifting sound we know from her.

This maxi is a soulful masterpiece for the joyful, in-between mood of an early summer outdoor sunset party. With this edition we continue our special limited edition series of 555 individually colored vinyls. Each record is a random-colored, totally unique piece. NOi!SE is a band that has always dealt in pure honesty at every stage, from songwriting to performance. The listener is always guaranteed the unvarnished truth as the band members see it. However, there are many truths in life, and some of the hardest to put into words can be the truths imparted to those closest in your life, such as from a father to a son. Years ago, while serving in the military, lead singer and songwriter, Matt Henson, set out to gather his thoughts to speak his truth to his son Liam, in the event that the worst came to pass, leaving the young man to grow up without a dad. It was a message to offer the fatherly advice and encouragement he feared he may not be present to give, a truth imparted the best way he knew how: through music. Matt recorded a demo with bass, guitar, and vocals, with the intent of circling back to the song when possible. About a year later, his bandmates surprised him with what they had added to his original recording. As moved as he was by the gesture, Matt remained uncertain about releasing it given the raw, emotional honesty of a song written for an audience of a single loved one, as well as its degree of departure when compared to a traditional NOi!SE song. Ultimately, the band will continue to speak their truth on all subjects. The raw honesty and intimate truths in this song, which will resonate with parental figures and children alike, will be shared with the world on a limited-edition picture flexi, featuring artwork by Liam himself!

Next in line in the Snaretrade series is an EP by one of our favourite people: Gols.

He operates the Hoot label, has released with Ghent label/party Ojoo and has been crafting tracks low key for a long time.

We start out with dessert: In Au bain marie we’re given some elegant yet hard to follow instructions on how to make the perfect chocolate mousse. DJ and Knetterbar operator Yentl kindly lent her voice, not knowing the recording would be used as a final take. In Hundreds and Thousands, Gols weaves thick layers of percussion and synths, forming a dense and deep structure that pulls us in. In the midst of moving his music studio, this track was the last one to be recorded before pulling the plugs and boxing the gear up. On the flipside, Regrooved is a shuffling, sneaky and amusing bit of house that never really admits if it’s just arriving at the party, or just about to leave. After-hour fare for those who like something sweet after dinner.

Sons of Traders 002 is a Compilation 8 Tracks Ep of loosely knit artists that surround the duo Sons of Traders (Mike Tansella Jr. and Tans). Leading the EP, the title track “Rotten to the Core” is a slow stomper with a forceful vocal sample and some various squelches. LA’s Kosmik picks up the tempo with “Murmurs” which features a hypnotic synth loop over a 4/4 beat. On “Chomping at the Bit” C.L.A.W.S. and Tyrell trade off between claps, hi hats and short delays underneath a sinister synth tone. To close the A side of the record is Future Blondes out of Texas with “2020 ultra visions”, a cut that can only be described as a sinister barrage of slamming drums and tones. The B side launches with “The Other Side of Town” by The White Lines, a dark electro workout with vocal samples, dark synths and growling bassline. Frigio label boss Juan Pablo brings us an intricate drum pattern with layers of synths on “Night Drive in Beijing”. “Self Feral” by Chris Mitchell is something with a hip hop swing, heavy drums, various feedback and vocals. Closing the EP is Dragee, a new artist from Tel Aviv. “Them” features a hard snare that holds together the demented vocals, claps and bassline that develop throughout the track.

Blending emotive pianos, shuffling percussion and weighty basslines, with perfectly complimented sax licks and deft synth lines. Multiple is the sixth full length record by the prolific maximalists known as LITE. Over the past 16 years, the Japanese quartet has established itself as one of the most influential groups across a host of subgenres. Though usually referred to by touchstones such as "math-rock" or "post-rock," LITE has developed an uncanny ability to fuse their influences into their own unmistakable dialect that defies generic genre classification.At times, Multiple's compositions find themselves at unlikely stylistic intersections. Conversating funk riffs will interweave with challenging rhythmic phrasing, blurring the lines between lead sections, obscuring where passages begin and end. LITE's distinct voice is emphasized in tracks such as "Double" and "4mg Warmth,"where melodies meander incessantly, constantly taking the listener to new territory.While many LITE songs unfold at breakneck pace, others entertain entirely different worlds altogether. In songs "Ring" and "Blizzard," the band tests the limits of their abilities with slowed-down, genre-bending forays into hip-hop and dub. On "Ring," LITE collaborated with rapper Maco Marets and singer Utena Kobayashi, where the latter's talents were also tapped for the song's ethereal steelpan section. As LITE has shown over nearly two decades, there exists no style that they cannot master or otherwise weave into their designs.
