The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette marked a wild, unexpected, utterly satisfying departure for Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. Inspired by and dropped in the wake of classic psych-pop vocal albums like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pet Sounds, this is one of the most ambitious efforts from the famed Jersey Boys. Gone are the doo-wop and Motown inspired harmonies, the light pop about girls, and arrived was a complex, insightful album of social commentary. Critics loved it; it's taken the fans longer to come around. With this beatiful reissue, a new generation can discover a different side of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, and go on a wild ride.

Fetty Wap rose to popularity after his debut single, “Trap Queen,” featured on this album, reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped him secure a deal with 300 Entertainment. He followed that up with two Top 10 hits, “679,” and “My Way,” which are also included on this debut record. This debut on vinyl has been out of print since original release in 2016 and will include additional bonus tracks new to vinyl.

The second of the Beat's three albums expanded to included 2 sides of non-LP tracks and B-sides. Wha'ppen reflects the band's signature melange of musical styles and influences, shifting from a heavy reggae/ska/punk sound to a more eclectic sound that included African, steel drum, and dub influences for a wholly original sound. Social Conscious and politcally oriented lyrics that remain as relevant today as the context of the album's original release during the 1981 riots in England.

Unfortunately these sleeves arrived with seamsplit. Otherwise the records play excellent.

Alzheimer, the record, is a Stranger everywhere on Earth. Wherever you might be listening to it, it will always be from somewhere else. The product of a foreign culture, for even though it was created and recorded in Caracas, Venezuela between January 1997 and 9/9/99. It is the result of forgetting everything and recomposing a new Sound World from the faintest, blurriest recollections of musical culture. Its purpose is confusion, its uniqueness is creating it in the realm of Music; a clash of instruments and minds.

Everything you will hear in the record was performed by humans and insects, spoken and sung by living beings, roughly a decade before the “smartphone”, which is probably the most stupid, final creating of mankind. The Alzheimer ensemble still exists and fully supports this initiative of celebrating the 24th year of its first of two published albums on vinyl. The spirit of our group will never be captured by robotic “intelligence”. We will fight it in every possible way through unpredictable cultural action and the infinite Human creative talent are uniting under our banner.
