Strictly limited edition of 500 copies of "From The Levels Below", the 1995 self-distributed debut release of the Harleckinz (Big Sal, Doubleface and Boogieman) from Berlin, Germany.

The press profile that was originally accompanying the vinyl release stated the following:

"Harleckinz was founded in 1989 in Berlin, Germany. The group consists of three rappers, as well as a D.J., aged 19-23. The Harleckinz are multicultural and multilingual with ethinical backgrounds: American (New York), German, Jamaican, Spanish, and Turkish. The music has potential to embrace an underground, as well as mainstram audience due to it's strong beats on one hand, and soulfoul, melodious accompaniment on the other hand. Lyrics and music are solely written / produced by the Harleckinz.

As far as it is known, Harleckinz is the first German HipHop act seriously attempting to internationalize the rap music scene by intentionally seeking a record contract / career in the U.S. and simultaneously or subsequently promoting their anyhow made name throughout Europe's, precisely Germany's, flourishing HipHop community. The Harleckinz have performed in the U.S. and Germany with celebrities such as Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, K7, D.J. Kool Herc and Zhane (see performances)."

In the years after the Harleckinz hit the charts with 2 singles and released their one and only album "Now We Are Talkin'" in 2000, followed by a KMC crew album in 2002 via Universal.

To us, "From The Levels Below" is still one of the best Hip Hop records ever been produced in Germany. Next to the vinyl reissue the release is also made available digitally for the very first time.

Following the critically acclaimed "Pillars" EP with MindsOne, Kev Brown teams up again with Ill Adrenaline Records, this time collaborating with fellow Low Budget Crew member Hassaan Mackey to bless listeners with "That Grit".
Both the Washington D.C. based producer-on-the-mic and the Rochester, NY emcee are longtime members of the prolific artist collective and have previously worked together various times, but this mini-album marks the first time the two embark on a full project. Most boom-bap enthusiasts should already be well acquainted with both Kev Brown and Hassaan Mackey: double threat Kev Brown already showcased his skills on microphones as well as production boards on countless releases and has been dubbed "king of basslines" by fans worldwide. In addition to his solo recordings Kev's credits include beats for heavyweights like Busta Rhymes, Biz Markie, De La Soul, Jazzy Jeff, and Marley Marl just to name a few, as well as handling entire album production for LMNO, Kaimbr, and Raw Poetic. Hassaan Mackey released a string of albums, including a full-length LP with Apollo Brown, and appearances on releases by Oddissee, Kaimbr, The Left and L'Orange.
Recorded during a series of impromptu bus and train trips Hassaan took from Rochester to visit Kev in Washington, "That Grit" was created with a spontaneous approach, reflecting both Mackey's freestyle background and Brown's proven "random joints" formula. Entirely produced by Kev Brown and featuring his signature bassline-driven and raw but soulful sound, "That Grit" consists of an intro, eight full-length tracks and six instrumentals. Hood Reishi is a genre defining album produced entirely by Ruckazoid. He's released music on Kanye West's G.O.O.D music label with Hudson Mohawke, and albums with J-Dilla, Dj Shadow, a #1 iTunes single with Breakbot, and most recently featured on Machinedrum's Human Energy as a vocalist.

Ruckazoid is known to raise the bar and his new Hood Reishi moniker is no different. The concept of this album was to use analog equipment from the past to create a new sound for today. Electricity runs through each beastly machine to produce each sound, with drums from a real TR-808 and other various analog drum devices connected to create the ultimate boombox. Since the recordings are analog, the album is able to push the sonic limits, making you feel like your system is about to explode, without destroying your ears.

It's a sound that must be experienced, and a sound that cannot be produced with software. The process is similar to shooting on film, with each track composed from captured performance. Using analog gear to create this sound is no easy task, but when achieved, nothing sounds comparable.

The album starts off with arabic sounding bells from the vintage Roland Super JX, then the chorus drops the mission statement:

"Soundboy run better put on ya sneakers, when you play this sound it fi blow out ya speakers, kill all dem woofers, kill all dem tweeters, me no stress me just smoke on da reefer yeah, pushing that dope like a dealer, I got the sound that fi wake up the sleeper"

The voice then changes when the verse comes in, and the listener's face is usually 100% mashed at this point. From there it's non-stop bass designed to keep you engaged like a dog hearing a new sound for the first time, head tilted and all. It's THE NEW SOUND, with just enough vocals to keep you locked in, but not too many vocals, as this album is really all about the sounds. If you're looking to hear the next level in bass music, this is for you.

If you're a DJ ready to soundclash, this record will shut the whole thing down.

Ill Camille has been a vital member of the LA music scene for some years. "Singing was always a big passion for me..I was always fascinated at all the acrobatic vocal runs some singers do with their voice. To me it's an athletic thing and I definitely see myself as a vocal athlete..and for that deeper understanding of my voice that I now have I have to thank my vocal coach Betty Lane. She literally helped me to push out the voice that had been waiting there for years, ready to come out, like "John use me, I'm your voice" and It was always a goal of mine to make a project that showcases my singing. I started writing poems around 8 or 9 years old, then songs, and then raps. It all leads back to Home, in the most literal sense. The house I’m sitting in front of on the video for "Home" is the house my parents brought me home to as a baby. So for me it’s like going back to the original source, the original purpose. That purpose for me is to sing.
