Terrace Martin is known for being the main producer on Kendrick Lamar's historic masterpiece To Pimp A Butterfly. His debut album 3ChordFold, released in 2013, is finally available on vinyl!

When this album was released in 2013, he was still not well-known worldwide, but had already gained a following as a notable producer in the hip-hop and jazz worlds. The album features guest appearances from a number of great musicians, including Kendrick Lamar, Robert Glasper, Snoop Dogg, Ab-Soul, Wiz Khalifa, Lalah Hathaway, Musiq Soulchild, Ty Dolla $ign and 9th wonder. It should also be noted that a number of artists who stepped up later have participated on the album.

The style of seamlessly combining sampling and instrumental performance to freely cross hip-hop, soul, and jazz is reminiscent of the Soulquarians, and is showcased in a cover of 'I'm For Real,' an 80's urban soul gem by Howard Hewett, featuring with a star-studded lineup including Snoop Dogg and Lalah Hathaway. Kendrick Lamar is featured on the exquisite mellow tune 'Triangle Ship', which samples the AOR classic 'What You Won't Do For Love' by Bobby Caldwell. "No Wrong No Right" is a collaboration between Jazz pianist Robert Glasper and James Fauntleroy, who was given seven songwriting credits on Bruno Mars' Grammy-winning album 24K Magic. On 11 October 2010, Brainfeeder released the debut album by a 23 year old ex-skater, painter and music producer from Chino Hills called Teebs (real name Mtendere Mandowa). The title 'Ardour' means great enthusiasm, love or passion and was a fitting descriptor for his inherently warm, lushly textured beats. It’s an undisputed classic in the Brainfeeder canon and more widely considered an essential chapter in the ever-evolving puzzle of the global “beat scene”.

Brainfeeder and Teebs are celebrating the 10th anniversary with a limited special edition reissue of this landmark record. Pressed on deep pink 2LP and housed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve with artwork by Teebs himself, the new edition features six previously unreleased bonus tracks.

With roots at the ‘My Hollow Drum’ collective, Dublab and Low End Theory, Teebs has been a staple in Los Angeles music. “My creative family in LA is so important,” he explains. “It’s a part of who I am when I step outside and how others in LA view me. Stranger Danger from North East LA hit Chopped Herring up with a project and it completely blew them away. Ridiculous break selection from and drug-fueled, hedonistic comedy from MC's Denzer, X-press & Stranger. What a treat this one is. There is definitely more to come from Mr Danger in 2018, no doubt!!
Stranger Danger started producing in the year 2000 and his first beat machine was a Boss SP 505, but he always collected vinyl since as early as the age of five when his parents bought him the first Fisher Price, Toys R Us record player.
Danger started freestyling and writing rhymes in 1995, but didn't actually start recording or mixing until 2001. He formed tha Roach Killaz in 2016 after his younger cousin X-Press told him that he and his homie Denzer wrote and spit ill rhymes as well.
During this time Danger was recording at a friend’s studio called The Halfway House where he met a 20-year old MC and producer named Saker, who he took under his wing as his protege to help him with production on the album.
In another studio session shortly after meeting, Saker brought his homie named Duer, and that’s when the puzzle pieces aligned perfectly and they knew they had something special. All of their influences are very similar. If it sounds dope, then it is! Greatest influences growing up were MF Doom, Kool Keith, DJ Premier, Kutmasta Kurt, RZA, Apakalypse, Necro, and DJ's like DJ Shi'iteand DJ Rob One.
The recording process is simple, let Mc's go at it until you hear something that you feel can help them sound better, whether it be vocal fluctuation, vocal tone, cadence, or energy.
Too much pride is a “no no”, it's all about doing whatever it takes to make the illest records possible. Stranger Danger digs or listens to music from all era's and over the world and studies music for at least six to eight hours a day, so what keeps him inspired daily is the opportunity to find incredible samples to flip.
It's an obsessive disposer but therapeutic at the same time. He used to have small intense spurts of creating, but now it's an all the time thing as he works on three to four albums at the same time constantly and always tries to top the album he did last.
X-Press, Denzer, and Stranger Danger are all Highland Park natives, (North East Los Angeles). Duer and Saker are originally from the San Gabriel Valley, which is in Los Angeles county as well! - Tha Roach Killaz, Killin Roaches.

But things didn't quite go according to plan. “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People” is Toby Young's hilarious account of the five years he spent looking for love in all the wrong places and steadily working his way down the New York food chain, from glossy magazine editor to crash-test dummy for interactive sex toys.

In every arts community, there are people who, despite being little known even to fans of the scene, are deeply embedded in its past and present. When it comes to NYC independent hip-hop, Joseph Fusaro aka Steel Tipped Dove is one of those people. Not only has he quietly made beats for everybody and their cousin but for more than fifteen years Dove has run a recording studio out of the same 2nd floor walk-up in Brooklyn, weathering gentrification and the proliferation of home studios alike. In that time, a wealth of artists have crossed his threshold; some famous, some forgotten, and many in between. Dove’s was always a place where you could schedule a last-minute session or have an out-of-town artist meet you at 1am after their show, no need to worry, Dove would be there. Call Me When You’re Outside is a testament to that energy: inspired collaborations with disparate artists from across the country and the indie music spectrum. The album features Elucid, billy woods, KeiyaA, The Koreatown Oddity, Pink Siifu, Shirt, Fat Tony, Fielded, Fatboi Sharif, and Skech185, and is entirely produced by Steel Tipped Dove. The “The Balancing Act” album title is inspired by the way Statik balances his responsibilities as a father, as an artist, as a producer and as a DJ. To execute his vision for the album cover, Statik enlisted famed designers Dom Dirtee and Tristan Eaton, whose work can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art's (MoMA) and has been featured across the world from Paris to Shanghai.

The album follows Statik’s collaborative album with Bun B in April 2019, when they famously teamed up to release TrillStatik – a joint album that was created entirely from scratch during an 11-hour livestream on YouTube. Prior to that release, Statik released a 2017 solo artist album, 8, which featured heavyweights like Run the Jewels, G-Eazy, Wiz Khalifa, Action Bronson, Wale, The LOX and Raekwon, among many others.

Three days after the WHO declared the
Covid-19 virus a global pandemic, and cities
across the country were weighing what steps
to take to contain its spread, Statik Selektah
and Termanology—who record together under
the name 1982—announced that they’d be
using the mandated time indoors to make a
new record. The album would be called The
Quarantine, and its creation would be livestreamed. They invited a dozen guest emcees
to join them in the studio—this was before
strict “social distancing” measures had been
imposed—conducted a marathon 11-hour
recording session, spent the rest of the night
mixing and mastering the record, and
dropped the finished product the next day.
Fittingly, the album’s cover depicts the
elements that presumably were involved in its

The Starvin Art Clique consisted of Christopher "30 Fingaz" Gittens, Robert "Hawaii" Russell and DJ Joe "Guess Who?" Davidge and "Starving Art" was their only album. The full production was handled by Guess Who? and Shane "The Doctor" Faber, features included artists such as Shawn Smith, Jaie, Mekolicious and others.

Originally released on CD on Joe Davidge's Overkast Records in 1998, the release was accompanied by a then and now hard-to-find 12" EP with 5 tracks of the album plus an instrumental version.

Available in a limited run on 2LP, CD and cassette plus digitally on all major platforms.

United by hustle and an unmatchable enthusiasm for alternative hip hop, Spoken Nerd and Juan Cosby have teamed to make the synth-pop/hip-hop-fused LP, Grapes. Grapes was actually first concocted as word of a rumored reboot of "Tales From the Crypt" landed in the ears of Nathan Conrad. The whispers of rebirth for the series stoked the fire of nostalgia in fans of former years, but simultaneously sparked a larger scheme in the Nashville based rapper, Spoken Nerd. Wheels turning, Nathan Conrad, aka Spoken Nerd, shared his ideas of cultivating a "Tales from the Crypt" mixtape to Cincinnati based producer, Juan Cosby. Surely the "on-brand" horror themed lyrics of Spoken Nerd would mesh seamlessly with the John Carpenter-esque beats by Juan to fuel fans of EC and, perhaps, catch the ears of EC themselves. Unfortunately, EC Comics went out of business in the 50's, and the internet rumors proved unfruitful of reboot, but the brainchild of Juan & Nerd's soldiered on. Much like the Crypt series, Grapes is an album that covers topics like deception, forbidden fruits, envy and sacrifice. Absolutely Killer project here outta Chi-Town 92-95. You MAY know the excellent 'Universal Language' from the 1995 cd/tape released entitled 'Talent Fest' but the rest from 92-95 are proper dope. As a long-time fan of People Under The Stairs and Damu The Fudgemunk, this is a full-circle moment for Soul Supreme. He deejayed alongside Damu in the past, and he has shown his appreciation to both P.U.T.S. and Damu with various tribute mixes. Matter of fact, this release is a full-circle moment for any hip-hop head: this 45 marks the very first time Thes One and Damu can be heard on one record together.

In typical crate-digging fashion, Thes One flips key elements from Soul Supreme's "Taking The Stand" into a neck-snapping beat. The instrumental album version of "Taking The Stand" can be found on the B-side of this 45. The original is a beautifully melodic jazz-funk head-nodder featuring drums by Tamuz Dolev and a spirited guitar solo by Radiohop's Johnny Biner.

"Taking The Stand" originally appeared on Soul Supreme's highly acclaimed instrumental albumPoetic Justice. Released last year, the album channeled his ongoing legal battle with a Norwegian label that stole his music. Fresh off his latest collaborations withRaw Poetic, Damu The Fudgemunk hopped back on the mic for this remix to voice his displeasure about shifty record labels. Damu also laid down cuts for the outro of the track, serving as a tribute to the lateDouble K.
