Combining the company’s century-old legacy with modern-day convenience, GR3 represents Goldring’s stylish re-entry into the turntable arena.

Developed in collaboration with a renowned British hi-fi manufacturer, GR3 is equipped with the multiple award-winning Goldring E3 moving magnet cartridge, offering true plug-and-play functionality. Its built-in phono pre-amplifier allows seamless compatibility with any amplifier or powered speaker, while designed to maximise the flywheel effect, its Phenolic resin platter ensures consistent rotational speed for enhanced audio fidelity.

Additionally, GR3 comes with a choice of high-quality interconnects from Goldring’s world-renowned sister brand QED, ensuring a vigorous connection and sound quality.

Key features at a glance:
• Pre-fitted with a Goldring E3 moving magnet cartridge: This serial award-winning cartridge comes pre-installed and perfectly aligned on the GR3 tonearm, offering a balanced, refined and dynamic sonic performance.
• Built-in phono stage : For maximum convenience, GR3’s integrated pre-amplifier enables effortless connections to any amplifier or powered speaker of choice.
• Phenolic resin platter: Designed to maximise the flywheel effect, the platter ensures consistent rotational speed for enhanced audio fidelity.
• Choice of QED interconnects: Goldring provides a choice of either a 1.5 m phono-to-phono or a 3 m phono-to-3.5 mm cable from QED, one of the most respected names in audio interconnects and cables, ensuring optimal connection and sound quality.
• Elegant design: GR3 pairs premium performance with a high-gloss black plinth and perspex dust cover, offering a sophisticated aesthetic that matches its superior sound.

Pre-fitted Goldring E3 moving magnet cartridge
Goldring’s E3 cartridge is considered one of the best performers at its price point – just see the six consecutive What Hi-Fi? best buy awards for proof. Combining plug-and-play simplicity with uncompromised audio performance, the E3 arrives pre-fitted and pre-adjusted to the GR3 tonearm.

It features a stiff and lightweight aluminium cantilever offering accurate tracking, more detail and reduced distortion, while a 'dual magnet' generator ensures authentic reproduction, better channel separation and a more musical soundstage. Designed and engineered in the UK, micro-adjustments during production ensures a consistent and reassuring performance for the life of the product.

Built-in phono stage
Not every amplifier or powered speaker has the necessary gain and EQ to deal with the signal from a turntable. So, to make life easier, GR3 boasts an integrated phono pre-amplifier in order to do this job. It means this single turntable that can happily connect to any amplifier or powered speaker you decide to use without the need for extra phono amplification or boxes. Combine it easily with Q Acoustics M20 or M40 powered speakers for a user-friendly and musically powerful vinyl system.

Phenolic resin platter
The remarkable speed stability of the GR3 is maintained by employing a phenolic resin platter with an enhanced fly-wheel effect. By distributing the majority of its considerable mass at the outside of rotation, inertia is increased and therefore speed variations are suppressed. This gives the GR3 a very good wow and flutter performance which in turn ensures that the fidelity of its musical reproduction remains high.

Choice of QED interconnects
Goldring’s sister company, QED, is one of the most credible and highly regarded manufacturers of analogue and digital interconnects in the world - so choosing either a 1.5 m phono-to-phono or 3 m phono-to-3.5 mm cable to plug GR3 into a compatible amplifier or powered speakers, ensures a stable and robust connection.

Elegant design
To complement the GR3’s class-leading performance, a combination of a stylish high-gloss black plinth, covered by a perspex dust cover delivers a premium and sophisticated design that can match perfectly with any system or fit seamlessly into any interior design space.

Coreless Direct Drive Motor Achieving Stable Rotation
The direct drive system uses a slow-turning motor to directly drive the platter. This system has various advantages. It offers high performance, such as rotation accuracy and powerful torque, does not require replacement of parts and maintains high reliability over a long period of time. On the other hand, the direct drive system was said to produce a rotation irregularity called cogging. For the SL-1210MK7, a new coreless direct drive motor was developed. This motor employs a coreless stator. The removal of the core (iron core) from the stator eliminated the root cause of cogging. Furthermore, the magnetic force of the rotor magnets was improved to the highest possible level, and the gap between the coreless stator and rotor magnets was optimised, thus achieving high-torque-performance equaling that of the SL-1210MK5. Boasting smooth rotation and powerful torque, this motor reproduces sound accurately and faithfully from the groove on an analogue record.

Diverse New Functions Adapt to Various Playing Styles

Torque / Brake Speed Adjustment
The newest digital motor control technology, accumulated through the development of Blu-ray disc products, is applied to improve adjustment by allowing the torque and brake speed to be adjusted individually in four steps.

The Pitch Control Function
The pitch control function allows fine adjustment of the rotation speed within ±8% / ±16%. It does this through digital control, from positional detection of the slider to rotational control of the motor, eliminating the unnecessary DA conversion. This greatly improves tracking performance to achieve accurate and stable pitch adjustment.

Reverse Play Function
The reverse play function, which brings forth new possibilities of creative performance, makes its first appearance in the SL-1210 Series. In addition to 33-1/3 rpm and 45 rpm, a rotation speed of 78 rpm is supported.
*The torque / brake speed adjustment, rotation speed switch, and reverse play can be adjusted by switches on the main unit.

High Sensitive Tonearm
The tonearm, which has continued to support the leading edge of the DJ scene for many years, inherits the highly reliable static-balance universal S-shape tonearm. Using high-precision bearings, it achieves a higher initial-motion sensitivity than the SL-1210MK6. This accurately tracks the groove on the phonorecord to assure excellent tracking performance with minimum stylus jumping even in harsh playing conditions such as scratching.

Stylus Illuminator Featuring a High-brightness and Long-life White LED
The stylus illuminator features a new push-type structure for intuitive operation, and employs a high-brightness and long-life white LED. The illumination area and intensity were reviewed to provide improved visibility of the stylus tip even in a dark environment.

High-rigidity Cabinet and High-damping Insulator
The chassis, an essential part for reducing external vibrations, inherits the audio quality enhancement technology fostered through the development of high-end turntables. The aluminium die-cast chassis is rigidly integrated with a special material consisting of ABS mixed with glass fibre to achieve a two-layer construction. The combination of this special high-rigidity material and a metal chassis raised the rigidity and vibration-damping performance to higher levels, realising a robust cabinet for beautiful sound reproduction. The insulator is comprised of a spring and rubber to provide optimal frequency characteristics. This not only assures high sound quality and superb howling resistance, but also effectively shuts out external vibrations under high sound level conditions.

The revolutionary concept combines the highest quality of music playback with a design that has won several awards worldwide – including the German Design Award and ‘Best Turntable’ award from ‘What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision’ magazine. With the concept, to find an affordable entry point to the high-end world is a breeze. It reveals the magic of optimum sound reproduction even for those music lovers who could not previously afford this experience. You can buy the concept in a package with specially developed moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridges. A frictionless magnetic bearing tonearm is responsible for the optimal performance of the cartridges. All critical parameters from cartridge tracking weight to anti-skating are preadjusted in our factory. The concept represents the ideal of stress-free ‘plug and play’: unpack, connect, put the record on the platter – and just enjoy music. There was never more audiophile technology in this class of turntables.

The concept achieves these highest of requirements, realising the Clearaudio vision.

Beneath the sleek, contemporary exterior is a level of technical sophistication unique to Clearaudio.

The concept‘s body is carefully crafted from medium-density wood fibre (or, optionally, pressure-formed solid wood) with a selection of smart made-to-match surface finishes. The body’s upper layer incorporates a special high-tech satined plastic compound designed to minimise unwanted resonance.

The DC motor is fed by an external voltage-stabilised power supply and is completely decoupled from the chassis, isolating the record from any mechanical interference.

The concept tonearm features a magnetic bearing that is friction-free for extremely low distortion and superb performance. The package is completed with the high-quality Clearaudio CONCEPT MM or Clearaudio CONCEPT MC cartridge (toneam and/or cartridge upgrade possible).

With the concept turntable package, Clearaudio offers you an extremely innovative design that is very affordable.
