Revelation EP is the debut release of Australian record label Denude, showcasing the latest work of Melbourne based artist Eddie Hale. The title track Revelation is both driving and warm - layered percussion lines rise and fall amongst Detroit inspired stabs and subtly textured elements creating an infectious and uplifting groove. A2?s Surging is both tunnelling and driving - straight into late night / early hours territory - with swirling sounds forming a hypnotizing sonic bath for the body and mind. Deep Club rounds out five years with its fifth addition to the label arm, a split 12-inch EP of raw, unbridled techno. Trespass / Cop Watch reaches outside of Deep Club’s inner circle, enlisting the talents of Grey People, one of the crew’s favorite American techno producers. After posting key releases for Proper Trax, CGI, and Public System Recordings, Grey People released 12-inches for Valcrond Video and Nerang Recordings, as well as a new album with fledgling French label 99cts Rcrds, all while commanding Nashville’s techno underground and helping run the budding TRAM Planet label and party crew. Adding to the fun, Occidental crawls back out of the shadows to contribute two brain-melting tracks to this split twelve.
Occidental starts it off with two not-so-similar versions of “Trespass”. “Trespass (Juss Feel It)” delivers 140 BPM of filthy frequencies straight to the brain stem in just over four minutes. You juss gotta feel it. Next, “Trespass Dat A$$” slows the pace down and turns up the spanking. This one is all about the thick, pulsing kickdrum, lush pads, and deep moans. The flip side belongs to Grey People. “Intercepting Encrypted Messages” channels a repetitive, bloopy synth rhythm and powerful drums before the hi-hats and claps smack the dancefloor. “Cop Watch” draws on Grey People’s Chicago roots for a dynamic and frenetic dance.

Counterweight started at the end of 2015 as a party-series in Munich (Rote Sonne). It was about pushing the style of techno we stand for and which we couldn’t find easily in our city. We are glad to introduce you to our new full length album, sound designed and arranged by Spanish duo Crime as Service. Their musical output has always been solid and consistent, always offering diverse visions on techno sound. For this particular work they have explored the deepest side of their sound palette, starting with the beatless intro Unlocked, made of subtle drones and field recordings. Next track is Altered Circuits, a bass heavy groove on the first bars soon followed by mechanical components colliding with atmospheres and micro drone. A combination of pressure and deepness. Shadow Crew follows with a continuous sequence over a shuffled beat, the usual textures appear on top of the main synth line spicing the mood, until bleeps and asymmetrical components complete the equation. Zombie Botnet changes the mood drastically, adrenaline goes up and new sonic components add hypnosis to the overall feel as the track goes by. Second slice of plastic opens with Lazarus Group, intense and dark with super effected synth lines running through the stereo field wisely. Darknet Operation, as the title suggests, is opaque and gray but also liquid with water samples appearing randomly along the arrangement. The groove behind is relentless and effective, one more time mixing intensity with mindfulness. Unknown Exploits shares similar feelings as the previous one, a combination of tension and sonic details. Closing the release, Deconstructed Blockchain, aimed directly for the dancefloor with a psychedelic approach on the main sound, constantly mutating and evolving as the minutes go. A solid collection of well-crafted techno tunes, aside from tendencies and hype, made to last.

Pulse 01' is the first release in PITP's new series, which is an ongoing exploration of ambient tech, while offering a more structured display of beat-driven ambient music. Pulse 01 features brand new tracks by Syne and Influx. Syne is Dennis Huddleston from the UK, who is most recognized for his ambient work as 36. He returns to his Syne alias for the first time in nearly 5 years, with only his second record since his 2017 self-titled debut LP. 'Dystalgia' is a 12 minute opus, spread over 3 movements. Soaring pads and razor sharp percussion combine for a dynamic, emotionally charged journey in sound. Showing love to the Detroit greats, but recognising the distinct UK influence which made him fall in love with Techno in the early 90's, it's a surprising pivot in Dennis' sound and one which all lovers of beautiful, melodic ambient techno should enjoy. Influx is James Bernard from the US, who is most recognized for his solo work in recent years. Influx was his trance/techno alias for much of the early to late 90's and released his work with well-respected UK and US labels.

We've not been able to get to the bottom of who Kenny Burns is (or at least this one - there was a famous Nottingham Forest footballer of the same name in the dim and distant past), and 89: Ghost main man Neil Tolliday is keeping tight-lipped. Either way, this label debut from the man of mystery includes some genuinely impressive moments. Picturesque closer 'Crease', where dreamy chords and kaleidoscopic synth sounds rise and fall atop an unfussy dancefloor beat, reminded us of Nail's own 1993 cut 'Cassiopeia', while 'Crank' is a thrusting slab of early morning techno peppered with squelchy acid motifs, chiming electronics and loopy, mind-mangling riffs. Elsewhere, 'Croak' is an angular slab of warped techno intensity, and opener 'Creak' is a hypnotic neo-trance number.

Utrecht label U-Trax welcomes 90s legend P.A. Presents for an enhanced re-release of his first two releases on this label, namely "Salicylic Acid" and "Flight Simulator". Ironically P.A. Presents aka Peter Aarsman is the only artist on U-trax that actually is born and bred in the city of Utrecht. Even more irony lies in the fact that he hasn't lived in the city for 25 years and has only recently returned home. He was an early player in the hip hop and boogie scenes and long before house landed in Europe he was playing disco and Italo which helped establish him as a truly vital DJ talent. The two reissue EPs presented here marked his production debut back in 1993, both of which are hugely sought after and pricey techno records on second hand markets. In 2019 he returned to the music scene with two new EPs on U-Trax in the the form of Swirling Gas and Sax Madness and new releases are planned for 2020.

One half of Giant Swan, Robin Stewart breaks the ice for new label ipaadi with what he calls “a weird love letter to ‘maximal minimalism’”. Written in 2017 long before he had considered releasing solo music and all one drum machine, Robin presents a dry, bone-crunching set of industrial experiments that leave the clasp wide open for high-intensity dancefloor moments. “Albatross” is a snapshot of Robin in a more frenetic, unyielding sonic space. Ranging from an enveloping sustain on the opening title track, a frantic 160bpm kick drum shower on “thcx” to an almost downtempo feel on “Triffid”, all of which feel borne out of a vast, collapsing industrial landscape similar to the one that he is also known for as part of Giant Swan. Robin states that it's unlikely he'll make tunes like this again and cites label owner Yewande Adeniran (Ifeoluwa) as one of the main inspirations behind the record. Yewande convinced Robin to consolidate the tunes on Albatross; the two Bristol based DJs have developed a friendship while each becoming rising stars on UK techno rosters over the last few years. Ipaadi is the second label started by Yewande in the last year, the first, Intervention, focusing more on activism, charity and community through its releases whereas Ipaadi, is more of a personal project for the music they love.

There are various reasons why it took so long to realize a record together… but here we are… and this is how I imagined it and what I had hoped for… Circles Bros is Wim Lecluyse. Originally from The Netherlands but living in Belgium now for many years. He has been making and releasing his music since 2002… amongst others on his excellent Morc Records label. With his music Circle Bros is submerging you with hypnotic lo-fi ambient and drone music with a folklorish feeling and a psychedelic touch… His work has been shifting from more song based to ambient like pieces… or a perfect blending of that… “Waves/Peaks” came into existence when Circles Bros sent me a proposal for an album… but instead of releasing the complete album I proposed to make a record out of the two long mersmerizing tracks which were part of the selection he sent me… when in the dialogue about this the working title of one of these tracks turned out to be “Vrystaete” I knew for sure this was the right way for a Circle Bros record on Vrystaete… These two long tracks with a minimal structure are created with minimal means and minimal post-production… the tracks evolved out of shorter pieces and are “stretched” creating this dreamy and otherworldly vibe… This is music to sit back to and get into and let it come over you and flow with it… Music to experience and not talk about to much…

Pavel Fedoseev is Kikok. As one of the few remaining members of the Komi tribe, he used the Komi words Ki (= arm) and Kok (= leg) as his brandname "Pretty important elements for a human being, aren't they?" he says of the name. Georgian DJ and producer Vulkanski returns to Bite with his first full length album Skeptical Answers. Serving as a longtime resident at Tbilisi club Khidi, he’s also known as one of the key figures pioneering the local electronic music scene. Achi Tabukashvili stands for rich, vibrant techno and grinding, metallic soundscapes that are elegantly arranged through his high fidelity productions and singular dj sets. Vulkanski’s Skeptical Answers traverses over 10 tracks the infinite ranges between tectonic club techno, to UK-inspired IDM and broken beat, while reaching to contemporary weightless and electro territories. Producer Tabukashvili describes and questions a period of a deeper esoteric search through the labyrinth of contemporary viewpoints on instrumental sonics and its unexpected answers. In addition, Vulkanksi is known as one half of duo Greenbeam & Leon who began DJing and performing throughout Georgia in 2002. They notably appeared on Boiler Room in response to the police raids at Bassiani and Cafe Gallery 5 years ago. With Vulkanski’s debut Bite EP Science Gardens in 2018, he illustrated his detailed vision of his own dense soundscape productions culminating in a memorable Berghain debut for label cofounder Phase Fatale’s Ostgut Ton album release party in 2020. Now, Skeptical Answers examines a wider spectrum of sonic possibilities, aimed towards the most daring of dancefloors existing between the liminal bounds of club music and its deconstructions. Over the years of brave experimentation Without Letters have delved into a variety musical genres from noise-rock, krautrock to footwork, trance and hard techno. By filtering out what is the most sincere and engaging in their creative process, they have since rediscovered archives of early clubbing music, its social values and sound aesthetics. That provided fissures for getting around the notion of guitar as once rebellious, now obsolete instrument, its raw immediacy more potent now than ever.Without Letters debut album Abundance Supreme comes from Lithuanian club culture, its changes, desired or actually happening and from the parties we’ve been to in the past couple of years. It’s a manifestation of what happens despite the anxieties stemming from the ubiquitous state of abundance. Maybe Abundance Supreme is residue from the sexual revolution that never happened in Lithuania, us being its specimen in need for transition. The album is some palpable energy, a proposition yet to be voiced, not in theory, but through our bodies. Pulsing rhythms and piercing hoovers and stabs as suggestive ways of opening up, of being together in a shared space. Suspended between all this being a pretentious farce or potentially a quite pleasant, even pleasurable. Trance inducing rhythmical structures and the sharp guitar outbursts invoke krautrock inspired blissful harmonies without offering an escape. Dark, frantic pace underlies Without Letters set, with clear intent to cut through the hierarchy of performer and the listener, to melt all that into a playful, potentially ecstatic co-participation.

Chapeau Music is glad to present this first limited vinyl release from Niceteed. “Nothing But Pain EP” is an obscure record wrapped by hard and uncompromising dancefloor-oriented raw grooves and punchy low ends. Only 300 copies, gone is gone, no repress. The title track “Nothing But Pain” has huge rounded kick, violent sub bass and mighty groove elements absorbed inside the reverberated synth stab and vocal, a track which belongs in the peak-moment of every secret rave. If we consider we also have a more Tech-oriented banger remix by Josh Coakley everything collides on an absolute terrific A-side. The flip side opens with “Leben”, a tribute track for the crew that Niceteed is part of in his hometown. Here the fast and weighty kick drum hugs the rhythmic components, gritty hi-hats and claps. Everything settles down on the straight and impact synth stab line. The final track “Ketama Aurea” lead us in the darkest part of this record, a gloomier zone that perfectly fits the end of this EP. Over the baggy kick drum everything is surrounded by the tangled synth melodies, their sounds are intertwined in the mix like arms of ravers in the murkiest warehouse party. Here the melancholic vocal is opposed to the warm bassline that stands out after the breaks in an impressive way.

Originally slated for release in 1993 by Super Doppler Communications. It was primitively programed on 8-track sequencer then recorded on a 4-track tape machine in Hani’s spare bedroom studio in Denver, Colorado. 26 years later, now Hani’s name became internationally known & till this day he continues to produce & remix under many aliases while running his own label Soterios Records. In 2017 Hani started receiving several purchase requests from seekers of this nameless track from Jeep Warehouse Beats Vol:1 on B-side called “Vector Selector”. During the search for the master DAT, Hani found this extended version now available for the first time on Jeep Warehouse Beats Vol:1.5. Included on the B-side is a track never before released from the same year 1993 that was slated for a single release. We are happy to make both tracks available with some help from Synchrophon in France.
