Echocord sub-label Echo Echo continues this July with Orbite’s ‘Interstellar’ EP, a threetracker from the Berlin- based producer. Orbite is a brand new project founded in Berlin, Germany with a nod towards the raw, dubby sounds often heard across the clubs in the city, and where better to inaugurate things than the recently launched sub-label of Copenhagen’s Echocord, one of the leading imprints in the realms of Dub Techno, home to pioneering acts like Rod Modell/Deepchord, Pole and Fluxion who have paved the way for Orbite’s own twist on the genre. The ethereal pad textures of ‘Skylar’ lead on the package, deftly evolving alongside bubbling synth tones, swelling chords and shuffled percussion to create a create dynamically unfolding six and a half minute cut. ‘Moment’ follows, edging things further into dubbed-out territories with heavily delayed dub echoes and mesmeric spoken word poetry intertwining to create a, hypnotic beatless soundscape. ‘Organi’ closes the record with emotive, billowing pads, warm bell like tones and vocal murmurs running alongside swinging shakers and stripped-back micro-house percussion.

Amsterdam based label Anagram readies label co-founder Sinfol's first solo release in three years entitled 'Pull Back'. The release, which features four passionate tracks, sees the light of day in the beginning of April. Since the launch of Anagram three years ago the label has put out a steady flow of releases from artists such as Anetha, Octual, Stefan Vincent, Elad Magdasi and Haze. However, the imprint has also acted as the main platform for Sinfol's own productions. Blurring the line between various subgenres, the Dutch artist is an eclectic one and meanders between acid, house, techno and more. The chords and arpeggios set the mood in 'Life Off Measure' where robotic elements rise to meet them, carving the way for 'Result' with its oscillating tones, clap fueled percussion and three-o-three licks. 'Pull Back' is packed with a thunderous energy that's intertwined with Sinfol's soulful vocals and ethereal synths, before swaying into deep house territory with 'Exhale'. E.D.C wishes to explore electronic music through different universes where spaces, noises and textures are central to the creative process. His researches aim to experiment and think outside the box, allowing us to navigate through purposely-colored music and other worlds where Every Detail Counts.

In this first release, the reverberations in each track create a shaking outcome that warns about the upcoming epic adventure with the wind of indestructibility that the tracks blow in our direction.

Endless is the key to understanding the whole release. Electric from the first second, it explains the journey we are about to embark on. Dark and almost gloomy from the beginning, the break gives the impression of a light breakthrough, as if the way suddenly clears.

The City of Clones takes us to a heavy atmosphere, as if we were waiting in the middle of a fog for the untying of the plot, though the denouement remains uncertain.

When Nobody Cares is an experimental journey through unexplored landscapes, with the discoveries marching under our eyes, which contribute to create an experience of fullness.

Too Many Ifs reminds and completes the cycle. Chaotic on purpose, it unveils the encounter of an intriguing living shape.

Los Angeles based Natan H and Malta based artist Owen Jay return as Gauss with their first EP of 2017. Entitled Resonator it offers more deep music with an electronic soul and is their fifth EP for their cultured label Gauss Ltd. The title track opens things up with a crunchy and impactful mix of weighty dub drums and spangled techno chords. It's a heavy track that builds in momentum and is sure to mangle minds with its skewed stabs and wiry electronics. Shifted is a more fierce techno track with urgency in the kicks and a sense of anger in the coarse little snare explosions. More gurgling synths add weight and this one is a real stomper as a result. Cutting ever more loose, Odyssey is a mix of IDM sound design, soulful synth smears and percolating electro tinged drums that are slick and futuristic. Least Squares completes this techno picture with spitting hits and claps, underwater chords and acidic sonar pulses that soothe the mind. This is an expansive EP that marks an exciting evolution in Gauss's sound.

They deliver a stunning two tracks EP with Farrago and Marco Effe on remix duty. The EP starts off on a joyous note with the track Mirth. As this is an old English word for gladness, the main melody takes you on a carefree ride supported by a stomping kick and dreamy pads in the back. Farrago takes a more stripped down approach with his version. He builds on the dreamy pad, making it serve as a warm blanket over his signature tight percussion. Contradicting Mirth, the second original slowly starts to drag you into a feeling of hysteria, hence the name. Taking their signature kick as the foundation, Hush & Sleep use a haunting melody that lingers on in the back and sets an eerie mood. Marco Effe’s remix is a deep stunning techno groover. Taking the main melody but twisting it into his own wonderful creation and sending you off on a journey into time and space.

The Swedish label Fasaan Recordings reinvents itself once again with a 4-track EP from the Free Arts Band. Still rummaging around in the general field of dance music, but now with a touch more avant-garde on their palette. The faceless entity that is the Free Arts Band introduces us to the simple idea of bringing a drum machine to art school. Infused with the creative space of the white-painted studio, a healthy dose of post-modernist pondering and the depth of traditional lineage, these four jams seem oddly timeless. Each of them riding on the verge of reductionism, they seem to ask: how funky can this get with as limited means as possible? Opening track "Cool Grey" offers synthesized new age jazz with some sundazed guitars, while "KADK" strips everything down to their primal elements and lets the rhythms do the talking, pierced occasionally by a woozy keyboard figure that perfectly mimics the gestures of someone walking in on the wrong party. With lo-fi gloom, the heavyweight of the EP, "Inhouse" rolls along on a beat that gently approaches the aesthetics of a West Coast low rider cruising track. Closing the cycle is a sequel to its opening track, and walks you out into a Japanese garden of British new wave guitar twang and brightly colored Badarou-style synths.

River In Me’ is the first single taken from Trentemøller’s new album ‘Fixion’. While the new album is scheduled for a September release, ‘River In Me’ will be available from June 24th and features Jehnny Beth of Savages on vocals, while Trentemøller contributed his own rework for the B-side. ‘I’ve been a huge Savages fan since their debut record.’ says Trentemøller. ‘ I met their producer Johnny Hostile at a festival in Paris and ended up inviting him to support us on our tour. Jehnny actually tagged along for some of the dates. Afterwards, he dropped me a line and asked me to mix the next Savages record ‘Adore Life’. Myself, Johnny and Jehnny built a real friendship in the process so it felt right to ask her to sing on a few of the songs. She has this really intense and unique voice and it ended up being really challenging, and fun, to take that voice out of the Savages’ universe and into mine.’ Swedish director Åsa Riton and Swedish artist Andreas Emenius created an outstanding video for ‘River In Me’ which will be published on the release date of the single. The new album ‘Fixion’ follows on three full length albums ‘The Last Resort’, ‘Into The Great Wide Yonder’ and ‘Lost’ as well as ‘artist-compilations’ like ‘The Trentemøller Chronicles’, ‘Reworked/Remixed’, ‘Live In Copenhagen’ and ‘Late Night Tales’.

Satori´s latest Album “In Between Worlds” gets its second round of Remix Treatments. First Mix is coming from Satori´s good friend and former release partner El Mundo who turned “Compulaire” into a hypnotical tech house version. Second is Just Emma and the duo made a perfect dancefloor suitable mix of “Pink & Orange Sky” – likewise Britta Arnold did this to “Compulaire” and spiced it with a acidish bassline. Norwegian duo Of Norway have chosen “Tuti” and mixed it with groovy and relaxed beats – perfect for the morning after hours. For the way home Alexander Christian´s Remix of “Ehsan” is the best companion.
