This special, sixth release on Neotropiq brings together four artists from the DJ collective that has grown from the booth of the label’s secretive and sought-out parties in South London. The “Treefrog Army EP” features solo tracks by the label’s founder, Silverlining, alongside Neotropiq residents, Trixie, Oliver Moon, and South London legend, Tom Gillieron.

What is Neotropiq? The neotropical realm is the bioregion that provides the lungs of the planet and is home to the highest concentration of biodiversity and unique species anywhere, many of which are endangered. The label’s emblem, the treefrog, celebrates individuality and nature whilst recognising the need to protect both. Therefore, Neotropiq can be defined as a multi-background, gender-balanced, and cross-generational collective of DJs, producers, and music lovers. Just as we might see a caravan of camels and a shoal of piranhas, the collective makes up the beautiful army of treefrogs that is Neotropiq.

The “Treefrog Army EP”, therefore, marks out distinguished yet complementary atmospheres that wander between several shades of electronic dance. As if each were telling their own distinct tale, this body of work flows like a late-night conversation between four good friends. With all tracks mixed or pre-mastered at Silverlining’s recently built North Wood Cabin Studio, this family excursion represents each artist’s individual sonic palette and groove while perfectly complementing the others.

Silverlining’s opening track, “Murine Illusions”, is a powerful, peak-time, West-Coast-inspired acid house workout cruising on an irresistible, rumbling bass arrangement and nostalgic vocal samples. Next up is Trixie, whose “Handshake” is a simmering and hypnotic encounter, with glitchy broken drums and whirring, otherworldly synths that animate another life around the body of the track.

On the B-side, Oliver Moon doesn’t hold back with the dynamite “What You Want” where icy Tr-707 drums brush by as you find yourself caught in an elasticated groove that's full of surprises. Mysterious vocals by Moon himself are laced throughout, creating a sense of curiosity on the dance-floor. Last but not least are the chunky Motor City-infused vibrations of Tom Gillieron’s “Orange Clouds”. Subaqueous pads create a mesmerising dreamworld and combine with crisp drums for the hazy hours of the morning.

This four-tracker offers a breath of fresh, forest air from the Neotropiq crew who break genre conventions while sharing a love for warm aesthetics. Outside of production, the crew also shares a love for vinyl digging, and in the booth, they each deliver their own unique energy. The all-encompassing collective is not only united by music, but also use their unified voice to speak up about injustice and imbalances around the world.

Berlin label Sinxergy returns with four distinct approaches from Spain's Manuel Ibanez, aka Atonism. Known for his notable releases on Freddy K's Key vinyl, Atonism plunges us into a universe of four sharp interpretation, tailored for the dancefloor again.

"2020" is a skillful blend of athmospheric sound design and perfectly measured percussion. Atonism demonstrates his expertise, particularly in drum and bass, through a masterful arrangement evident in "Enigma."

He also collaborates with Tehotu, an international Berlin techno figure and the head of Sinxergy, on "Action et Reaction". Those track finds the perfect balance between the power of a 4-4 techno beat and an airy, surprising sound design, supported by a vocal capable of shaking a warehouse.

Anything the on-point Brazilian contributes to Drumcode is always top notch. From his 2020 album ‘Straight Lines & Sharp Corners’ to the cracking ‘Catarse’ EP from 2018 to last year’s sci-fi themed ‘Premonition’, the vast collection of quality music the artist has dished up on Adam Beyer’s label always stands out amongst the crowd.

The producer, who’s a practitioner of Vipassana meditation, takes inspiration from the spiritual realm for his latest production work. ‘Awaken’ is a hyper euphoric anthem inspired by light that packs plenty of bottom end power. We can’t wait to hear this played during the upcoming festival season. ‘Revelation’ is a spitfire trippy techno outing, which utilises Eastern scales and takes influence from ritualistic ceremonies from Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures. Amazingblaze emerged as a pivotal tastemaker in the new school scene, marking his debut on KNTXT in 2022 with his Venture EP. Last year, he further solidified his presence on the label, with the release of two EPs and a remix of Charlotte de Witte’s single ‘High Street’. He has been obsessed with music since a young age and that shows in his productions which blend the inspirations of his youth with plenty of fresh contemporary style. Kaleidoscope ups the ante further with more scintillating hard techno drums and flashes of synth that will chime perfectly with strobe-lit clubs. A spine-tinging breakdown features angelic vocals before the drums kick in and power things to the next level. Thank You, God Always is more straight up with hard edge drums and synths that spray about the mix with bright rave energy and futuristic soul and last of all is Habits, an urgent and high speed wave of lush trance techno with a classic vocal stab and more celestial voices drifting up to hypnotic effect.

Wonderful and intriguing quality Ambient experiments from Argentina on the Lapsus label! There are albums that tap into the very heartbeats of rhythm, melody and intricate sound design, pulsating with every musical note. This is the case of "Septimo Sentido", the new album by Buenos Aires-based producer Seph. Sebastian Galante aka Seph is no stranger to these realms; with almost two decades of experience under his belt, he has established himself as one of the leading talents in the Argentina techno scene and as one of the most intriguing minds in alternative Latin American electronic music. His productions have found a home in cutting edge labels such as Insurgentes -a platform led by the DJ and producer from Medellin (Colombia) Verraco, and sister label of TraTraTrax, which has reduced gaps between the Latin electronic scene and the rest of the globe- or his own label Aula Magna Records. He has also fostered collaborations, among which stands out his project Oscean alongside Andres Zacco, a project that was recently released on the legendary Berlin label Tresor. In his new album "Septimo Sentido", Seph exhibits superlative production skills and masterfully showcases the widest palette of the braindance sound, that intersection where countless genres and sub-styles can coexist. Here we hear echoes from the mid-90s that revive undeniable references of early IDM; but with a renewed form, under a fiercely contemporary new skin. At the core of this intriguing album, we find an artist whose devotion to experimentation takes his rhythmic and melodic obsessions through vibrant magical-techno-urban landscapes, where radiant colors and mutating forms collide in a bold and imaginative sonic journey. A1 kicks off with vintage Sci-fi mind exploration samples and quickly evolves into a pulsating and accelerated acid trance rumpus, with the sample weaving its way around the tracks main goan filtered synths and throbbing bass, for a perfect, reflective end of night closer.

Still keeping things pacey and sci-fi, B1 guides us into more traditional trance territory, with lighter 808 kick drums and a progressive arpeggiated synth line that links up with his paranoid friend half way through for some machine talk , before metallic bass and electric guitar mates comes barging in to abruptly end all chat.

B2 continues the trip and lands us on an unexplored planet deep in the outer universe. Pensive, melancholic and breaksy IDM frequencies transmit through our vessels radio, whilst a woman reminds us that we still have our 'Body's' as we float in space.
