In the past, up in the northern region of Japan, bags were hand woven with mountain grape vines. In a similar fashion, the Puebco Harvest Basket is hand woven by farmers during their off season with Indonesian rattan and pinewood in the southern part of china in Guangxi. It's a quiet, inland town, with no airport. Even with a days work, only three of Puebco's Harvest Baskets can be produced. Puebco decided not to add anything to the bag other than treating the surface and adding a plate to reinforce the strength. Normally Puebco doesn't get involved in this level of handcraftmanship, but the designers were drawn to the balance of the color, shape and details involved. There's something about this item that pulls out memories from the past but at the same time it's somewhere in-between nostalgic and modern. Dimensions: approx.
