Stunning sleeve artwork is by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and illustrator Samuel Donato, depicting Jin and Jun Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, and newcomers Azucena, Victor Chevalier, and Reina.

The TEKKEN 8 music team smashed out banger after banger for the soundtrack, retaining the series’ trademark sound of hard-hitting dance music and electronica. 15 tracks have been specially mastered for vinyl and will be pressed onto heavyweight discs, to be housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve. Sleeve art is by Niklas “El Huervo” Åkerblad, the visionary artist for Ultros, and renowned artistic and musical contributor to the iconic Hotline Miami series.

Oscar Rydelius — AKA Ratvader — created a mellifluous, melodic soundtrack that sounds both organically human and alien at the same time. Hypnotic musical build-ups are patiently drawn out. He took the lead from Åkerblad/El Huervo’s mesmerising art, while ensuring Ultros’ music “leaves room for the eyes.”

The score is peppered with field recordings of nature sounds from the Amazon rainforest and Peruvian instruments like whistling jars and bone flutes, giving some tracks a 1960s and ’70s New Age feeling. Classical instruments like the Cello and Flute, as well as haunting vocals, sail atop dense harmonic tapestries. For parts of the recording during the Covid pandemic, Rydelius and Åkerblad rented cabins on the Swedish island of Gotland (a notable Ingmar Bergman and Tarkovsky filming location) in order to soak up the natural vibes of that environment.

Central to the soul of the soundtrack is Cello player Björn Risberg, whose lyrical playing features prominently. Joining him were multi-flute instrumentalist Adrian Åsling Sellius, violinist Agnes Högberg and vocalist Anna-Maria Lundberg, in addition to El Huervo on multiple tracks.

The vinyl track selection focuses on the world and Sarcophagus of Ultros. Ratvader personally curated the tracklist so that listeners would spin the vinyl, lay flat on the floor, and enter the world of the game, aiming for “a pleasant and present experience.”

The soundtrack for “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” on Nintendo Switch, which has sold over 20 million units worldwide by December 2023, is now available on CD.

Crafted by UK-based Italian composer Alessandro Baldessari, 'Dario Argento Panico' is the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the documentary retrospective and intimate portrait of Italian giallo master Dario Argento. Premiering at the prestigious 2023 Venice Film Festival, this evocative soundtrack immerses listeners in a diverse array of styles, conveying a rich spectrum of emotions and enhancing the narrative arc of the film. The soundtrack was commissioned by Giada Mazzoleni, film producer and head of Paguro Film. The collaboration between Alessandro Baldessari and director Simone Scafidi started with a conversation, during which Simone articulated his vision for the documentary and invited Alessandro to explore the theme of the doppelganger. Written and recorded between 2022 and 2023, Baldessari's compositions preceded much of the filming process, enabling him to craft a musical narrative that offers a distinctive perspective. The music serves as a parallel reflection on the film's themes - duality, love, grief, family dynamics, anxiety, suicide, and, notably, panic - profoundly enriching the storytelling experience. Baldessari's meticulous approach to composition is evident in the soundtrack's cohesion, achieved through recurring melodic and rhythmic motifs, rather than using a single sound palette. A notable example is the use of Dario Argento's name transformed in a musical motif and subtly integrated into the piano pieces that underscore many pivotal scenes. The soundtrack features a diverse range of tracks, from the pulsating energy of 'Panico Titles' to the tender introspection of 'Suicide and Memories' and the haunting melodies of 'Ominous Doppelganger.' Notably, the film ends on the notes of the entirely string-based composition 'Partenza,' offering a stirring conclusion to the sonic journey. The album includes two bonus tracks and the track 'Tre', from Baldessari's previous work, 'Nostalghia'. The music has been written, played, and mixed by Baldessari, who, for his first full-length film, wanted to curate every aspect of the soundtrack.

Without Umiliani’s contribution, Italian jazz, film music and library music would lack some of the key identifying features we associate them with today, thanks to his ability to carve out a distinctive sound identity from his personal craft, the studio he built and the trust he gained from his collaborators. This identity for many simply encapsulates the cipher of an unrepeated age of Italian popular music.
At the Sound Work Shop studio (opened in 1968) Umiliani conceived the majority of his projects and hosted the recording sessions for numerous movie soundtracks, pop hits and library music albums by the most remarkable musicians in Rome — including himself. In this exciting environment, he had the opportunity to experiment with many different styles, from funk to psychedelic rock, from disco to avant-garde, from easy-listening to electronic music, following the ever-changing needs of the soundtrack and library music industries. He therefore mastered an extreme variety of genres, moods and atmospheres, often mixing up their peculiar features to achieve unusual combinations in albums conceived both for production purposes and for home listening.
Umiliani’s ability to reinvent the concept of musicianship in the fast-moving society of his time made him a modern musician in the most complete sense of the term, by putting himself in charge of every facet of his work, from the conception to the production, the recording, the publishing and even the packaging of his own music.
In less than two decades, Umiliani released almost 80 records on the three labels he established between the mid-1960s and the early 1970s: Omicron, Liuto, and Sound Work Shop, besides all the music he was simultaneously composing for movie productions, licensed and published by Italian major companies.
This box set allows us to fully appreciate this little-known side of Piero Umiliani in an unprecedented way: his ability to seamlessly intertwine his musical creativity with his vision as a producer and publisher emerges clearly from this series as a unique feature of this composer. This corpus altogether constitutes a remarkable contribution to the so-called Italian sound of the 1970s, covering areas such as library music and film music and a plethora of genres such as jazz, funk, psychedelia, prog, easy listening, electronic music and much more!

Magnificent music is what takes an RPG from “great” to “one of the classics,” and one thing’s for sure: Sabotage Studio understands what makes the classics. On top of their in-house composer Eric W. Brown working full time on the brilliant music for their modern RPG opus Sea of Stars, they enrolled Yasunori Mitsuda as a guest composer. Anything less than a legendary score simply wouldn’t do.

We at iam8bit are humbled to play a part in bringing that score to life, here for you. This is the Sea of Stars 2xLP, a veritable epic on Solar Orange and Lunar Blue wax. It’s the score to Sea of Stars, with all the swelling highs, whimsical diversions, and touching twists present in the game, forever enshrined on vinyl for your home listening pleasure. This double LP features 20 essential track selections, pressed to mustard and blue solid colour vinyl. These come in printed inner sleeves, which slip into a wide-spined outer sleeve printed on reverse board. Sleeve art is by the Monster Hunter team.

The Monster Hunter: World music team comprised long-time series contributors Tadayoshi Makino, Akihiko Narita, Yuko Komiyama, and Masato Kouda, alongside Zhenlan Kang (Resident Evil series). From the Ancient Forest to Elder’s Recess, the sometimes soaring, sometimes playful soundtrack is full of memorable moments. Thunderous, layered percussion, aggressive brass, and sweeping string motifs push and pull players through their tense struggles with Teostra, Bazelgeuse, and the like. Clark reworks his score for Naqqash Khalid’s award winning debut feature film ‘In Camera’ into a mesmerising, brilliant and varied album. Containing smoky, timeless synth instrumentals like ‘Running Dreams’, a bittersweet cover of Carpenters / Sonic Youth classic ‘Superstar’ and an epic, rising builder ‘Green Breaking’, it’s a deeply rewarding listen that fits perfectly into the canon of Clark soundtracks.

Director Naqqash says "This soundtrack and body of work Clark has invented feels like another character in the film – like an extension of the film’s atmosphere and interiority – it became so intertwined with my experience and memory of IN CAMERA – it’s difficult to pinpoint where it begins and ends. And for that I feel deeply privileged to have had this collaboration with him… Clark is an essential player in this film”

Clark says “I was going to just include the cues from the film, but got far too into recording new stuff that fitted the tone and emotion of the film. Favourite tracks: Tangent Cloak, Bleeding Building and Sensual Dismay. Little peaches that popped out in one breezy take. It’s got a really specific, colour/tone this record. It’s drenched in muted joy/dark euphoria. It sounds like Sensual Dismay but can’t really call it that, it’s the soundtrack for a film called In Camera.

Full of pointed notes about an industry rife with prejudice and hypocrisy, In Camera deploys elements of surrealism and fantasy to trace how its young British-Asian protagonist’s sense of self is affected by the tokenism of a world he hopes to conquer. Candid and acidly funny, with an unsettling eye for the warped and bizarre, it’s a playful, stylish satire not just of showbiz but also the myriad absurdities of modern life, with a complex, supple central performance from rising star Nabhaan Rizwan.

They must quickly find 11 other players, as the inter-school championship begins in 24 hours. Numerous artists and composers were involved in creating the theme music and accompanying songs, including Kosuke Morimoto, who contributed to various theme songs for Fullmetal Alchemist and One Piece. Any fan of the series will have a strong feeling of nostalgia when they recall the music that marked them during their teenage years. The very Pop-rock and J-pop tones will remind them of those after-school afternoons watching episodes of this epic anime on Game One. You'll also be able to hear the voices of the Japanese cast, including the voice of the main character, Sena Kobayakawa, on many of the credits and accompanying songs. The manga turns 21 in 2023. To celebrate, the author wrote a 55-page one-shot called “Brain X Brave”, which appeared in early January 2024 in Weekly Shonen Jump. Hirokazu Tanaka is a Japanese composer best known worldwide for game music such as the "Metroid" and "Mother" series, as well as music for the world-renowned "Pokemon". The LP contains 17 ambient tracks carefully selected from the approximately 400 private demo tapes he left behind over the past 30 years since the 1980s!

Finally, the album "Moshi Anison ga Subete Showa no Robot Anime Fu Datta Ra" (If all anime songs were in the style of robot anime from the Showa era), which covers classic anime songs in the "Showa Robot Anime" arrangement, is now available on LP! A total of nine songs, including a cover of Neon Genesis Evangelion's theme song "A Cruel Angel's Thesis"!! A number of classic anime songs, all reincarnated in the style of Showa-era robot anime! The singer is Ichiro Kageyama, a veteran singer who loves Ichiro Mizuki, the king of anime songs, so much that he has developed a voice that sounds just like Ichiro Mizuki.

The second installment of the "Class of 1983" series from 'pixel games', the video game developer of the highly acclaimed retro-style action game "Donut Dodo", is now available on analog vinyl! "Cash Cow", a bull, runs across the stage at a furious pace to retrieve his stolen treasure! The game is a thrilling one-shot death game, and features 9 songs, including some weird and wonderful western music!

DESCRIPTION

The premise for Five Nights at Freddy’s is inspired by and tinged with familiar nostalgia from our collective childhoods — pizza parties at the family amusement center in Anytown, USA, presided over by archaic animatronic creatures who fancy themselves a rock band.

We always knew there was a darkness there, amongst the dusty game cabinets and wobbly tables — something lurking, something… off kilter. It’s a plot that jettisoned Freddy Fazbear and pals into the retrosphere of megastardom — a franchise of countless games, books, and merch drenched in depths of lore, with the feature film from director Emma Tammi (and our pals at Blumhouse and Universal) as the culmination of it all.

However, an effective horror experience is nothing without its accompanying sound, and The Newton Brothers certainly showed up for this score. From the opening title track, they hypnotize us with the haunting vocals of a children’s choir, cut with the melodies of nursery rhyme horrorshow. It’s a chilling hors d'oeuvre, leading into a pulsing, synthy moody main course that is both a 90s throwback and freshly sinister. How could we expect any less from the boys behind the maniacal music of Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep?

Like all iam8bit releases, the unboxing is part of the fun, too, with four collectible character jackets featuring everyone’s favorite funtime gang — Freddy, Chica, Foxy and Bonnie — adorned with glow-in-the-dark eyes, ensuring even while listening in total darkness, you’ll have company. Minted on delicious Pizza Party Red vinyl, it’s an absolute feast for fans.

It’s a killer soundtrack, but be careful. You never know what other surprises could be waiting inside…
