Following our releases of Bianco Rosso e Verdone and Sono pazzo di Iris Blond OSTs, we are glad to announce a new tribute to the music for the great cinema of Carlo Verdone with the release on vinyl of the original motion picture soundtrack of Acqua e sapone, composed by Maestro Fabio Liberatori, the artist who features the greatest number of collaborations with the Roman director. Shot in 1983 it's the story of Rolando Ferrazza (Verdone) who, stolen the identity of Father Spinelli, finds a job as private teacher for Sandy Wash (Natasha Hovey), a young teen-ager model with whom he will soon fall in love. The story will come to a bitter-sweet conclusion, in the typical style of its director, for sure more bitter than sweet, with the unavoidable separation of the two lovers and the return to normal life, now permanently marked by the experience. A movie that, like many others shot by Verdone, was a landmark of an era, portrayed through the humanity of it protagonists, their forbidden dreams, great delusions and tragic daily life, everything narrated through a biting poetic style and delicate irony in a guise that made Verdone's cinema a unique genre. The wonderful music by Fabio Liberatori, previously partially available through a compilation dedicated to his soundtracks, now finally released for the first time in a complete edition dedicated to this score with a great electronic frame, a sound that the musician skillfully masters chiseling a series of moods throughout the story. A soundtrack which deserved since too many time a full edition, at the dawn of its 40th year of age, now available in this deluxe release, featuring a 180 grams colored vinyl with the wonderful original artwork by Renato Casaro on the cover, with the two protagonists' faces. This release has been possible through the collaboration with Cecchi Gori which gave access to Maestro Fabio Liberatori' score, remastered under his supervision by Gianrico La Rosa, and with Sony Music Italy which authorized us to add STADIO's songs, "Acqua e Sapone" and "C'é", which could not be missing from a tribute to this movie. Editing by Claudio Fuiano, graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini, limited edition to 500 copies.

"Rob wanted the world of The Northman to feel harsh and uncomfortable, and for everything to feel like it was caked in mud and dry blood, so it was crucial for the score to mirror that." Composers Robin Carolan (Tri-Angle Records) and Sebastian Gainsborough (Vessel) were given a task of epic proportions when director Rob Eggers (The VVitch, The Lighthouse) asked them to create the score for his ambitious and highly anticipated new film The Northman, releasing on April 22nd. They needed to make a score that both honored the immense research that had gone into the authenticity of this Viking era period piece and complimented the cinematic maximalism of the film for a modern audience. The artists stretched themselves to the depths of their creativity and the resulting album is a gorgeous sonic tableaux that places the listener right in the center of the film. While arranging the score the composers consulted musician and ethnographer Poul Hoxbro for inspiration and insight into the history of Viking music. Having backgrounds in left field electronic music, Robin and Sebastian felt liberated by the constraint of using a small selection of musical tools for this piece. "Electronic music has almost limitless potential when it comes to making sounds and that's obviously an incredible thing, but you can also go down the wormhole and get lost in it sometimes. There's no risk of that happening when you only have a few primary instruments to draw upon." Robin remarked. They utilized traditional instruments such as the tagelharpa, langspil, kravik lyre, and säckpip to build the cinematic world of The Northman but they also took creative freedoms in adding instruments likes drums, which some academics believe wouldn't have played a big part in Viking musical culture, simply due to the lack of archaeological evidence of actual drums. "One of the pieces we wrote was intended to emulate the sound of a bullroarer; an ancient instrument used in sacred rituals or in battle to intimidate enemies. It makes a really disorienting roaring vibrato sound and low frequencies capable of traveling insane distances." Robin says when asked about one of the more unique aspects of the score. Everyone involved put so much effort into both their research and their creativity and this richness is evident in every track. The album as a whole is a cinematic masterpiece of sound and ambiance, both gorgeous and disturbing, like the film it so beautifully accompanies.

Richard Thompson's score for Grizzly Man - Werner Herzog's 2005 documentary film of real life and death in the Alaskan wilderness - is one of the best-kept secrets in the British guitarist's epic canon: an instrumental masterpiece disguised as a movie soundtrack. Recorded over two days as Thompson played live in the studio to Herzog's footage - mostly alone, at times in chamber settings with cello, piano and percussion - these tenderly detailed melodies and quietly visceral improvisations are cinema in their own right, rendered with pictorial instinct and the dazzling technique forged in Thompson's lifelong passage through traditional folk, psychedelia, North African modes and intensely personal songwriting. Eli Keszler's score meets at the confluence between the visceral electro-acoustic Giallo style and brooding acoustic drones, which feature his abstract and textural percussion playing he has explored in his solo music. All of this working together to evoke the very haunts of the film's Uptown locations.Speaking about the score Keszler said_ "The score was built around the 'pentagram melody' as we called it, a seven-note symmetrical pattern that formed the sign found on the tarot card, a repeated motif of dread and premonition found in the film. In the Scary Theme and later in Tarot Theme three variations occur, where each tonal triangle is introduced individually, followed by it playing in counterpoint to each other to complete the symbol.Nekrasova's work is a thriller centred on two young women who unknowingly move into a Manhattan apartment that used to belong to Jeffrey Epstein. The psychosexual drama is steeped in Giallo, with a touch of DePalma and Polanski. Premiering at this year's Berlin International Film Festival, it took home their prestigious 'Best First Feature' award.Keszler other film work includes contributions to Daniel Lopatin's score for the Safdie Brother's acclaimed, Uncut Gems, while his solo music has been released on LuckyMe, Empty Editions, ESP Disk and PAN. His album 'Stadium' released on Shelter Press was awarded Boomkat's 2018 'Album Of The Year' and Pitchfork claimed his most recent album 'Icons' (2021) as 'strangely wonderful'. One Night in Miami is a 2020 American drama film directed by Regina King (in her feature directorial debut), from a screenplay by Kemp Powers, based on his stage play of the same name.

It had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 7, 2020 and was the first film directed by an African-American woman to be selected in the festival’s history. It received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with critics praising King’s direction, the performances and the writing.

It is scheduled to be released in a limited release on December 25, 2020, followed by digital streaming on Prime Video on January 15, 2021

On one incredible night in 1964, four icons of sports, music, and pop culture gather to celebrate one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. When underdog Cassius Clay, soon to be called Muhammed Ali, (Eli Goree), defeats heavy weight champion Sonny Liston at the Miami Convention Hall, Clay memorialized the event with three of his friends: Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge).

Based on the award winning play of the same name, One Night In Miami is a fictional account of the actual night that these formidable figures spent together in the hotel. It looks at the struggles these men faced and the vital role they each played in the civil rights movement and cultural upheaval of the 1960s.

Digitmovies releases for the very first time on CD and LP the complete edition in full stereo of the OST for the Italian cult TV series "Orzowei" which was composed by the prolific brothers Guido & Maurizio De Angelis. Based on the novel “Orzowei” written by Alberto Manzi and issued in 1955, the story was adapted into 13 episodes of an international TV hit series wich was produced in 1976 by Italian and German companies. It was directed by the French filmaker Yves Allégret and starred Peter Marshall as Isa / Orzowei, the British star Stanley Baker, Doris Kunstmann, Vincenzo Crocitti, and Bonne Lubega. This TV program was broadcasted in Italy in early 1977 and presented again with version especially re-edited for cinema theaters called "Orzowei - il figlio della savana” (“Orzowei - Son of the Savannah”).
Isa, a white child abandoned in the forest of South Africa, is found and raised like a son by an old great warrior and by an old woman, both of them belonging to the Swazi people, an ethnic grouping of the Bantu tribe. Due to his white skin he is jokingly called Orzowei, “the found”. After his escape from the Swazi village, he takes refuge to a forest where he is adopted as a son by Pao, the sage man of a Bosciman tribe. At the end Orzowei will really have to fight against the Swazi, the people who had brought him up as a child, and to defeat Mesei, his arch enemy.
In those days only one single was issued: RCA BB 6054, a very big international record hit. This CD has been possible thanks to the stereo master tapes which have been well preserved in the RCA archives. Concerning "Orzowei" besides the 45 rpm single versions “Orzowei” and “Le notti di Orzowei” we have also added alternate takes of the famous theme song like a different mix, the instrumental version, an evocative version with an echoed solo flute, the very cool karaoke version, an alternate take of “Le notti di Orzowei” without flute (all the original material discovered on the master tapes, if we consider that possibly in the TV series library music was re-used). Only recently we were able to discover on another mastertape three extra alternate takes that with big joy we include in thi very new re-issue. A OST of the ’70s Italian TV CULT which we absolutely wanted to rescue and preserve to honour the musical art of Guido & Maurizio De Angelis.

Moonlight is the breathtaking soundtrack to the film of the same name Rolling Stone has called "A masterpiece" and won the Oscar 2017 for best movie. The album features the critically-acclaimed score by composer Nicholas Britell, as well as choice songs including "Every Nigger Is A Star" by Boris Gardner, "Cell Therapy" by Goodie Mob and "Hello Stranger" by Barbra Lewis. Britell is an award-winning composer, pianist, and producer. In 2015, Britell scored Adam McKay's Oscar-nominated film The Big Short, and his music also featured prominently in Steve McQueen's Oscar-winning film 12 Years A Slave, for which he composed and arranged the on-camera music including the violin performances, spiritual songs, work songs, and dances. As a producer, Britell produced Damien Chazelle's short film Whiplash, and subsequently co-produced the Oscar-nominated feature film. Britell's emotional and evocative score to Moonlight has resonated with audiences from early festival screenings, earning accolades from critics in their reviews of the film which underline how the music is wrapped into the very fabric of the film itself.

Daschenka Project sets a counterbalance to this contemporary melancholy: the groovy, earthy music creates fertile ground for lightness, on which Dascha Lüscher talks in a charismatic, warm voice about the things in life that we all encounter: about rampant consumerism and self-optimization, about secret desires and hide-and-seek, of pointless conflicts that lead nowhere, of hardened fronts and the desire for more harmony, in short: of injury and healing, of pain and pleasure. The music sounds as if Jamiroquai, Morcheeba and James Brown are working together: „Funky Trippin‘ Soul“ sums it up best, according to bandleader, Dascha Lüscher. That‘s why the EP „Spinning Round“ is combined with „The Eighties Session“ for their debut: five of their favourite songs from the 80s - Simple Minds‘ „Don‘t you (forget about me)“, „Sledgehammer“ by Peter Gabriel, Chris Isaaks „Wicked Game“, „Rebell Yell“ by Billy Idol and „Sign o‘ the Times“ – originally by Prince – all arrive with weightless feet in Daschenka Project fashion. With the releases of „Don‘t You“ and „Wicked Game“, Daschenka Project was able to increase the number of followers on social media from 300 to around 4500 within a few months. The two videos have over 300,000 views on Facebook alone. This is a remarkable success, and one can be curious about where the journey will go, after all, there are seven more songs in the pipeline. The collected work will be released under the title „Spinning Round“ at the end of May 2023 by the Basel label „Burning Sole“ on vinyl and digitally and on CD throughout the year. For the studio recordings, she was able to win over musicians such as Michael Chylewski, Jean-Pierre von Dach and Peter Wagner, who have performed on stage with Joss Stone, Seven, Kunz, Adrian Stern and Sina, among others. Despite being the driving force behind Daschenka Project, Dascha remains humble. In addition to her sense of grooving bass riffs and her multifaceted voice, she sees it as her strength to bring the right people together at the right time to let something evolve that gives people a feeling of togetherness and optimism.

Equal parts sonically punishing and ethereal, the soundtrack delivers a unique punch that further intensifies the mind-bending, acid-trip experience of the film.

Divinity is a sci-fi dystopian odyssey produced by Steven Soderbergh and helmed by visionary director Eddie Alcazar. Set in the distant future, scientist Sterling Pierce dedicated his life to the quest for immortality, slowly making progress developing a serum named Divinity. Jaxxon Pierce, his son, now controls and profits from his father’s once benevolent dream. Society on their barren planet has been entirely perverted by the supremacy and pervasiveness of the drug. Two mysterious brothers arrive with a plan to abduct the mogul, and with the help of a woman named Nikita, they set on a trajectory hurtling toward true immortality.

Amidst the film’s extraordinary tapestry of stark aesthetics and themes, the score is a ten ton barbell of sonic weight. Crafted with 8-bit samplers, Wavestation synths, extended choir and string techniques, the soundtrack manages to swing wildly between the arenas of both music and sound design. Like all rich soundtracks, listening to the score on its own re-conjures the imagery of the film in the screen of the listener’s mind, an aural experience that manages to encapsulate and pulse a matched intensity of the film.

Tracks like ‘The Brothers’ and ‘Reflective Dreams’ cascade Vangelis-esque tones, painting with broad strokes of cinematic grandeur and ethereal wonder. ‘Main Titles’ and ‘Infinity Techno’ conversely swing hard into relentless, punishing sonics; with brutal, pulsing energy representative of the twisted, relentless pursuit of immortality. A standout of the album is undoubtedly “Divinity 2 Infinity: The Odyssey,” featuring cult hip-hop hero and lyrical-savant Kool Keith. Written for the film’s end credits, the track is a satisfying throwback to the 90’s original soundtrack cut bespoke-tailored to the film’s narrative themes.

DJ Muggs and Dean Hurley’s synergy yields a soundtrack that takes Divinity beyond the screen and into a multi-dimensional experience, inviting its listener along uncharted aural terrain for an unforgettable odyssey in sound.

50 years ago, Franco and Luciana De Gemini had recently moved to Rome, both looking for their place in the world. He a talented musician, she a beautiful young bride, they lived in a small penthouse with a huge terrace full of flowers and views that spanned Rome, from the dome of St. Peter to the Altar of the Fatherland to the Castelli Romani: over 40 kilometers of the Eternal City. Through his collaborations with many great maestros of the period and his involvement with the orchestras, Franco got to know many people including Fulvio Corradini and Benito Costa (the former an administrator of prestigious record catalogs, the second a trusted friend). In fact, they had already caught wind of a small record label called Beat Records Company, founded on May 12, 1966, but the two had no time to devote to the endeavor so they trusted its administration to Franco De Gemini by actively involving him as a partner. It was on March 23, 1968, that they set foot in that office on Viale Medaglie D'oro. Beat had published 58 tracks, had 16,500 Liras in cash and a tax fine of 140,000 liras for failure to report. That was the day that Franco and Luciana began their adventure, which would last for him until July 20, 2013, and for her until March 3, 2016. It was an Intense fifty years, always with one foot on an airplane, in a smoke-filled recording studio, in front of a Moviola viewing the scrolling images of film or around a table with incredible characters, to talk, create music and art, or simply to enjoy life. That little two-year-old son that was once picked up and held by Franco and Luciana is now a man of 50, a man with whom generations of film and music fans have been able to cultivate their passions, served and revered by the tireless work of this incredible couple. Having reached this important landmark in time, with over half a century of history behind us, we decided to revive five significant favorites from our musical catalog and replicate them in their original format, a tribute to our past and yours. The fifth appointment of this revival is with one of our scores unreleased on vinyl, Alla Ricerca DEL Piacere by Teo Usuelli, a score we love deeply for a movie featuring the divine Barbara Bouchet, a beautiful icon beloved on both sides of the ocean. The music--iconic as well, and among the most appreciated in our catalog--has been included on Beat at Cinecittà albums and used by the Cohen bros., who included Piacere Sequence M36 in The Big Lebowsky. The film earned the #1 spot in the Kids section on Netflix in 86 markets globally and the #1 spot for all movies regardless of genre/demographic in 20 countries. The first week of release, the soundtrack amassed over 25,000 Shazams and 3 million streams across DSPs. Its first vinyl release, on opaque purple vinyl, is for RSD Black Friday 2022.

The soundtrack features seven original songs varying across genres, with pony characters voiced by Vanessa Hudgens, Kimiko Glenn, James Marsden, and Sofia Carson. Original songs include “It’s Alright,” written and produced by Parisi and performed by teen heartthrob Johnny Orlando, and “Together” written and produced by Aaron Pearce and performed by Callie Twisselman. But for purists the arcade version remained top dog, and it is with this in mind that we have pressed the original arcade version soundtrack for Darius II onto vinyl, making this its debut on the format!

Record Store Day 2021 Release. Following their 1990s hiatus, Wire reformed in 1999, and, after setting up their own Pinkflag imprint, between 2001–2003 released five distinct Wire items: Twelve Times You (pf3; 7-inch vinyl), Read & Burn 01 (pf4; CD EP), Read & Burn 02 (pf5; CD EP), Send (pf6; CD album) and Pf456 Redux (pf456 Redux; 12-inch vinyl album. Following the two Read & Burn CD EPs, Wire released the full length album Send, combining some tracks from both Read & Burn EPs and four unreleased pieces. Since none of the tracks had previously been issued on vinyl, a creative solution was sought to include all of the tracks from Send and the two Read & Burn EPs. This was achieved by some quite brutal edits! Thus the title Pf456 Redux is both catalog number and descriptor of the process. However, none of the tracks on PF4, PF5 and PF6 were ever put out on vinyl at full length—hence Pf456 Deluxe, which includes everything from those three releases and Twelve Times You, for good measure. As in many things with Wire, form follows function. This limited edition version for Record Store Day 2021 comes with a hard -bound book containing text about these recordings and photos from the period.

Waxwork Records proudly presents the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack vinyl to the 1973 British-Italian Thriller, DON’T LOOK NOW. Directed by Nicolas Roeg and featuring Pino Donaggio’s very first effort as a film music composer, Don’t Look Now tells the story of a married couple (Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie) who travel to Venice, Italy for work following the recent accidental drowning-death of their daughter. The couple encounter two sisters, one of whom claims to be clairvoyant and informs them that their daughter is attempting to contact them to warn them of danger. The classic film dives deep and focuses on the psychology of grief and it’s effect on relationships while blending elements of the supernatural with vivid, impressionist imagery of flashbacks, colors, patterns, and editing techniques that have been known to alter even the viewer’s perception of what is actually occurring.

Waxwork Records is beyond excited to present the complete score by Pino Donaggio (Carrie, The Howling, Tourist Trap) on deluxe 180 gram vinyl with high quality packaging. Barbie the Album is the soundtrack album for the 2023 film Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig. It was released by Atlantic Records on July 21, 2023, the same day as the film's North American theatrical release. The album was produced by Mark Ronson, Kevin Weaver, and Brandon Davis. It was met with generally favorable reviews from critics.

The album was promoted by the release of six singles; the album's lead single "Dance the Night" by Dua Lipa topped the charts in 10 countries including the UK and Ireland as well as reaching the top ten in 25 countries including the US. The second single was "Angel" by PinkPantheress and the third was "Barbie World", a collaboration by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice with Aqua, which reached the top ten in 15 territories including the UK and US. A fourth single "Speed Drive" by Charli XCX was a top ten hit in the UK and Ireland. The fifth single "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish topped the charts in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, and Australia, and entered the top ten in 15 countries. Ava Max's "Choose Your Fighter" was serviced to airplay radio as the album's sixth single on July 28, 2023.

Upon release, the album was met with critical and commercial success. It debuted at number one in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand and reached the top ten in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States. At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, the album won Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, while four of its songs ("Dance the Night", "Barbie World", "What Was I Made For?", and "I'm Just Ken") received nominations for Best Song Written for Visual Media. "Dance the Night" and "What Was I Made For?" were additionally nominated for Song of the Year and the latter for Record of the Year.

Originally released on white vinyl for Record Store Day 2021, this much sought after soundtrack is now available on a limited run of Transparent Red Vinyl. 2020 saw the release of the critically acclaimed “Audrey”, a documentary film taking an intimate look at Audrey Hepburn’s life with access to never-before-seen footage from her family’s personal collection and produced by the multi award-winning team behind “McQueen” and “Churchill”. The soundtrack was composed by Alex Somers, an American composer and producer who has written and collaborated on soundtracks including “We Bought A Zoo”, “How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy”, “Aloha”, “The Circle”, “Captain Fantastic”, “Shia LaBeouf's Honey Boy” and Taylor Swift's Netflix original documentary “Miss Americana”. His work was first noticed in 2009 with Riceboy Sleeps, his ambient album collaboration with partner Jónsi (Sigur Rós). Following “Riceboy Sleeps”, Alex co-produced Jónsi’s 2010 debut solo album “Go”. He then opened his own recording studio in Reykjavík where he co-produced and mixed Sigur Rós’ 2013 album “Valtari”, and continued to collaborate with artists Jónsi, Julianna Barwick, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Gyða Valtýsdóttir, Damien Rice, Amiina, Sin Fang, Briana Marela. “Audrey Hepburn was such a special person” Says Alex Somers. “It was my goal to tap into what made her such a one-of-a-kind soul and create a melodic and sonic accompaniment for her. Collaborating with Helena was a beautiful and rewarding experience. The music poured out and together we experimented and pushed deeper to tell Audrey’s story; there is music here that is dark and there is music here that is light and uplifting, but the common thread is that it is honest and true to the spark that was Audrey.”
