This LP would not have been possible if Edipan hadn’t conserved two mono masters in good conditions in its archives (stereo mixes have gone lost). Unfortunately it was not possible to cancel some magnetic flaws. We brought to life an OST that contains all the popular and well respected music elements of Maestro Nicolai: dissonant strings segments, experimental effects of an evocative classical main theme, ambiguous and mysterious, accompanied by pop rithms. Direction AND Cast Directed by Peter Collinson in 1974 and starring: Oliver Reed, Elke Sommer, Richard Attenborough, Gert Fröbe, Herbert Lom, Charles Aznavour, Maria Rohm, Adolfo Celi, Stéphane Audran, Alberto de Mendoza, Orson Welles (just voice). Plot A stranger that calls himself U.N. Owen invites ten people to stay at an isolated house in the Iran desert, drawning them with weird excuses. The nearest town is twohundred miles away and there are no phone in the house. Once arrived, they don’t meet the house owner but they hear his voice recorded while he accuses them of several homicides still unpunished, for which they would pay with their lives. From this moment on, they will start to get killed one by one. Only two of them will save themselves: Vera Clyde and Hugh Lombard, who didn’t commit the crime Owen accused them of, since they were mistakenly called to the house.

Wewantsounds is delighted to release for the first time on vinyl the Lalo Schifrin"s soundtrack for Frank Perry"s thriller "Man On A Swing" from 1974. Featuring Schifrin"s superb mix of Jazz, Bossa, Groove and atmospheric soundscape, the soundtrack, recorded in LA with the Wrecking Crew"s Emil Richards, Bud Shank and Howard Roberts among others, finds the composer at his most inspired. Delving in the Paramount tapes, the label has re-sequenced the soundtrack from scratch and found several unissued cues as bonus tracks. Among which the mindblowing rhythm track for the title "Radio Source", featuring a super Funk breakbeat. The Soundtrack has been remastered for vinyl by Colorsound studio and features liner notes by Jeremy Allen with artwork by Eric Adrian Lee. By the time Lalo Schifrin composed the soundtrack for Frank Perry"s psychological thriller in 1974, starring Cliff Robertson and Joel Gray (who"d just won an Oscar for his role in Bob Fosse"s Cabaret) he was Hollywood royalty having worked on such iconic films as Bullitt and Dirty Harry. Perry on his side, had caused a stir with The Swimmer in 1968 starring Burt Lancaster (although he would dismiss the film after being fired from the production) and followed up with a string of great cult movies including "Last Summer" (1969), Diary of a Mad Housewife (1970) starring Carrie Snodgress - whom Neil Young famously fell in love with upon seeing the film and "Play It as It lays" in 1972, adapted from Joan Didion"s eponymous novel. Breaking from the social dramas from of his previous films, Perry decided to shoot a thriller based on journalist William Arthur Clark"s book "The Girl on The Volkswagen Floor." The film follows a police officer investigating a murder with the help of a strange ambiguous clairvoyant played by Gray. For the score Perry went to Lalo Schifrin who"d just come out of a bad experience on The Exorcist working with William Friedkin who"d rejected his music in favour of Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield! The score was recorded in LA with the Wrecking Crew and, although the full line up is not known, it included Emil Richards, Howard Roberts, Bud Shank and of course Schifrin on piano. "Man on a Swing" is pure undiluted Schifrin from the early 70s. The score plays like a long suite alternating Bossa Nova ("Juke Box Source"), Lounge Jazz ("Trip to La") and groove ("fm Groove") with superb "suspense" soundscapes like "Rosehaven Hotel". The label has gone back to the Paramount 3-track tape transfers and come up with an updated tracklist (a CD version briefly appeared in the 2010s) - re-sequenced and augmented with a handful of bonus tracks and alternate takes. A highlight is certainly "Radio Source Rhythm" which, losing the guitar and organ, reveal a jaw dropping funk breakbeat that is in the league of Dirty Harry and Enter the Dragon. This and the whole soundtrack, will ravish all the funk diggers and Lalo Schifrin fans around the world.

Those familiar with the incredible work of Nathan Johnson will not be surprised by his melody forward approach to such a dark and cynical film. Occasionally bleak but always gorgeous, the film delivers on its promise of grifters and hubris, but Nathan's score balances the equation with a propulsive and somber and simple score. Nathan Johnson and Guillermo Del Toro made beautiful music together. It is a brilliant partnership, one that I hope continues into future productions.

As soon as the pilots of the Space Oddities endeavour decided to tackle Yan Tregger's oeuvre, a major problem surfaced: where to begin? And where to end? Upon which side should one launch into the ascension of this body of work? It will have taken Alexis Le-Tan and Jess years to put up this selection, capturing the profusion and eclecticism of Tregger who, at 81 years old, has yet to lay down the arms and still defines himself as a "jack of all trades". Symphonies, library music, movie soundtracks, TV credits, advertisement, French variété, pop, disco, electronic, experimental or relaxation music, Yan Tregger (born Edouard Scotto di Suoccio) took up all genres, styles and formats through a career spanning from the end of the 50s to this day. How the Stakhanovist successfully went down so many different routes can be explained by his innate talent for composing melodies; they are the very basis on which his iconoclastic production was built. Ten years ago already, Yan Tregger had welcomed us in the studio of his Parisian suburb pavilion. There, sat in front of his machines and albums framed on the wall, he had delved into the midst of a life writing itself like would a rather unusual musical score.

The 2010 war drama film Henri 4 (Henry of Navarre) was directed by Jo Baier and based on the books Die Jugend des Konigs Henri Quatre and Die Vollendung des Konigs Henri Quatre by German novelist Heinrich Mann. The film follows the autobiographical story of the protestant Henry of Navarre and his rise from battlefield warrior to France's beloved King Henri IV. It's score is composed by Hans Zimmer in collaboration with Henry Jackman. Zimmer has scored over 200 projects which, combined have grossed more than 28 billion dollars at the worldwide box office and earned him an Academy Award, three Golden Globes and three Grammy Awards amongst others. Jackman has established himself as one of today's top composers by fusing his classical training with his experience as a successful record producer and creator of electronic music.

A Jazzman's Blues is the 2022 Netflix drama film written, produced, and directed by Tyler Perry. It stars Joshua Boone, Amirah Vann, Solea Pfeiffer, Austin Scott, and Ryan Eggold and others. The film centers on the forbidden romance between Bayou and Leanne who are best friends. The orchestral music in A Jazzman's Blues was composed by the classically trained composer Aaron Zigman, who has previously scored music for films including The Notebook, The Company Men and Sex & the City. The evocative backdrop of Lake Como and the rare beauty of Piero Piccioni's music. “Fatevi Vivi, La Polizia Non Interverra” (1974), also known as “Kidnap”, is a detective story directed by Giovanni Fago, with actors of the caliber of Henry Silva, Gabriele Ferzetti and Philippe Leroy. The film draws inspiration from the many cases of kidnappings recorded during the Seventies. The first vinyl edition of the soundtrack, edited by Musica Per Immagini, offers the listener a selection of his most significant tracks, carefully remastered, already released on cd. The soundtrack is a fabulous mix of lounge atmospheres, explosive action music and mysterious moments from which the sound of tubular bells emerge, as in the bittersweet pentaphonic opener Lovely Mood. Synthesis of a different mood from that adopted by his peers, exemplary in Ambushers, played by bass, guitar and piano, plus the string section in counterpoint. True hip hop break. Within the depths of the tracklist, it is easy to identify the third axis of the project, The Persuaders, thanks to the irresistible rhythm of the brass. The Sicilian Mafia motif is also distinctive, punctuated by the traditional sound of the Jew's harp. Another distinguishable aspect of Piero Piccioni's work is the wealth of themes. The composer goes beyond the model that provides for the creation of a main theme and a secondary theme with related variations, because he creates leitmotifs and musical figurations tailored to each of the salient situations and related protagonists.

Brainticket was an obscure Krautrock band born out of a 60's jazz group featuring Belgian born keyboardist Joel Vandroogenbroeck, based in Switzerland. The leader went for a fortunate solo career after the former group disbanded, reaching a cult status especially in Italy with a series of sought after libraries. Released in 1978 on Cenacolo, Images Of Flute In Nature is pure magic translated in music. Conceived by Joel with a little help from vocalist Carole Muriel (an American performer already involved in Brainticket and Drum Circus), the album is literally a deep connection between kosmische music, ambient and ethno-global rhythms.

Psycho 2000 - A dark but funky theme that begins with an occulting Italian echo-oscillator drone that is soon followed by pulsating bass and breakbeat drums, leads to tremolo guitars, an ostinato on electric mandolas, strings climbing eloquent ladders, otherworldly electronics, and a cinematic finale. An evocation of a parade of wooden nutcracker soldiers elaborately dressed in gold-trimmed black uniforms down a wide avenue decorated with mardi gras beads and animal skulls upon golden cobblestones toward a tornado spiralling out purple-hued glissandos and curlicues of elephant smoke. White Spiritual - Head nod action, the twinkling of a late 60’s Vox Continental II with sickly transistors, the noodling matrix of an intergalactic telephone exchange carried on a bed of bouncy bass with a firm backbeat. The Johnny Guitar Watson-esque bite and sting of a ‘67 Teisco guitar preludes slabs of unison dark brown moog and organ giving way to the dance of fingers over the black naturals and white sharps of the Continental II.

Following on from his UK top 10 album "Seeking New Gods" Gruff Rhys is pleased to announce his forthcoming soundtrack to the film The Almond And The Seahorse via Rough Trade Records. The soundtrack will be released as a foil numbered, limited edition double-LP, on yellow vinyl with a fold out film poster and digitally. The 22-track album comprises original songs and instrumental score, all composed by Gruff Rhys. Recorded between 2021-2022 with a host of featured musicians including members of the National of Orchestra Wales, the music features throughout the forthcoming film of the same name, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Rebel Wilson and Celyn Jones. Set for release in early 2023, the film tells the story of archaeologist (Rebel Wilson) and an architect (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and their fight to re-imagine a future after a traumatic brain injury leaves them adrift from the people they love. The title of the film itself refers to the nicknames given to the parts of our brains that lay down new memories and hold on to the old ones. Tonally, the soundtrack compliments the movie perfectly: the drama of the subject matter and the human relationships is counterbalanced by the film"s wry humour and lightness of touch, and the varied compositions and styles on Gruff Rhys" score and compositions reflects that. "The soundtrack for The Almond & The Seahorse was recorded largely in pandemic conditions so it was a matter of recording in bursts of possible activity in various friends" studios, homes and even scout halls as chance permitted. Composer Lorne Balfe's overall musical and philosophical approach to Black Adam was 'to get the emotion and darkness of the main characters back story across to the audience, whilst simultaneously intertwining the old themes and familiarities of the DC comic book world and introducing a new class of superheroes.” He further noted “One way to bring in the feeling of an ancient world together was to collaborate with traditional instruments from Latin America, India, Africa and the Middle East. A particular highlight for me was a percussion session I did where we enlisted several musicians playing various traditional instruments together to achieve this specific sound. Further, we had a large brass section across the score to give the weight and power of the main character’s past, which I balanced out with high tempo, more melodic sounds to give the audience that more familiar heroic feel. We also experimented a lot with choir on this project which was able to contribute a unique and classical sound that ties in nicely with Black Adam’s story.”

Released in 1988 for the little-known NEC Pc-8801 gaming console, Last Armageddon is a Final Fantasy-esque post-apocalyptic game set on a world in which demons and mutants fight alien robots for dominion over the wasteland that Earth has become. The game was moderately popular in its native Japan, spawning a sequel in 1994, but never made it to the global market.

The soundtrack composed by the great Koji Hayama (who would later make his name with soundtracks for the Cho Aniki series, as well as his work on Nintendo’s Smash Brothers), is one of the finest examples of video game music from the 80’s. Particular praise should be awarded to the immediately recognizable “Battle Theme”, which has gathered millions of views on YouTube. One listen, and it’s clear why - the song combines invigorating electronic beats with earworm melodies, and with just a touch of nostalgia added in, it’s perfect for almost any situation. That’s not to say that the rest of the album is lacking in any way, with songs that range from spooky ambient (“Nighttime Movement Theme 2”) to full-on industrial dance numbers (“Spaceship Control Room”), spread across 13 tracks. Originally released on CD and cassette, P-vine is proud to be giving Last Armageddon’s soundtrack its long-deserved release on vinyl! This irresistible new selection tells the story from 1968 to 1985 of a prolific label that sometimes produced ten albums a year, and which delighted many French and foreign film directors who, to 'flavour' their films, drew on this sumptuous catalogue. In this volume 3 Tele Music, we have highlighted legendary artists who have left an indelible mark on the history of the music bookshop and on the history of music in general: • Janko Nilovic (also known as Yanko Nilovic, Anady Loore, E. Orti or Alan Blackwell), • Jean-Jacques Debout with his irresistible “Mitsuko” released in 1967 and re-released in 1969 on “Music Bazaar”, • Bernard Lubat, the impressive percussionist, vibraphonist, multi-instrumentalist and very good “scator” (Bernard played in the Doubles Six with Quincy Jones and Eddy Louiss), • Gabriel Yared, the man with a hundred film scores. CBE, the Chatelain, Bisson and Estardy studio is located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. Still in operation and run by Julie Estardy, it has been receiving major artists for over half a century. It is a place of reference. At the time: Johnny Hallyday, Claude François, Sheila, Carlos, Françoise Hardy, Nino Ferrer recorded their hits there. Now it's the turn of Sebastien Tellier, Bertrand Burgalat, Keziah Jones, Tony Allen, Jeff Miles to name but a few. CBE and its giant Bernard Estardy put Tele Music in the best conditions to produce an atypical and powerful sound. Bernard Estardy had a custom- built mixing console built by his German friend Gunther Loof, offering the perfect tool for recording 4 and then 32-track Arp 2000, Moog, Korg, Prophet synthesizers and all acoustic instruments. The field of experi- mentation was limitless. Until now, the titles of this collection were only available in vinyl format, via rare and expensive prints that collectors sell for a high price on dedicated websites. for music, experimenter in his genetic code, innovator by vocation, at ease with various instruments in order to forge
avant-garde themes. Piero Umiliani was already forward in building completely new sounds in the late Seventies. “Tra
Scienza E Fantascienza” finds his alter ego Moggi experimenting with alternative grooves, electronic music, jazz tunes
and soundtrack motifs. One of the most interesting music libraries in the Italian composer's discography, reissued with a
new remastering by Musica Per Immagini, is in full harmony with its title.
Science fiction has opened up our eyes to a variety of scenarios, possible or impossible, sometimes with a happy ending,
sometimes apocalyptic, at times familiarly near, more often disarmingly far away, and always capable of inspiring our
imagination. For the histrionic artist it took, perhaps, less of a cosmic leap to create this masterpiece. Centred on the
cover, a strange creature with only one eye, its hands on a beaker containing a mysterious red liquid. To its right, a
symbolic circle is imprinted on a sandy surface, and three bizarre constructions, similar to the volumetric flasks found in
a laboratory, of differing heights and shapes. There is a strange blue planet in the distance.

Directed by Kihachi Okamoto, The Sword of Doom is a 1966 Japanese samurai movie that tells the bloody and brutal tale of revenge and redemption. This deluxe LP features new artwork from Yuko Shimizu and marks the first time that the soundtrack is available on vinyl!

Starring Tatsuya Nakadai and featuring Toshirô Mifune, The Sword of Doom tells the story of Ryunosuke Tsukue, a masterful but heartless swordsman in feudal Japan. After deliberately killing an opponent in a training exercise, Tsukue then murders his mistress and flees town. After spending time in a haunted geisha house, Tsukue sees the ghosts of all his victims and spirals into madness, leaving a trail of destruction and bloodshed in his wake. As time passes, the years of brutal killings and evil deeds begin to weigh on his mind, ending in a climactic battle between Tsukue, a group of assassins, and the ghost of his past.

The Sword of Doom soundtrack, composed by Masaru Satô (Yojimbo, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla), is full of dark and yet melodic cues, and takes many influences from traditional Japanese instruments and music. A minimalist yet powerful score that brings to life the struggles of Tsukue’s inner demons. The tone ranges from brash fight scene orchestrations into quiet and lilting flute themes, but underscoring it all, Satô's music feels the evils of Tsukue.
