A prized and rare record which is nowadays repressed by Barbecue imprint in 2021, in its 12’’ version, with the original, the Disco Mix, instrumental and the A Cappella, and is accompanied by a new modern and festive edit by French house producer Blutch.

From the film freaks at Varèse Sarabande comes Reel Cult, a sensational new reissue series for B-movie soundtrack aficionados. One of the two titles kicking the series off for Record Store Day is the cult-classic, soul-jazz soundtrack for Ossie Davis' seminal cinematic social commentary, 1972's Black Girl. This LP features (AAA) lacquers cut by Jeff Powell from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram clear/black swirl vinyl in a tip-on jacket. Groovy!

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the album ‘Monty Python Live At Drury Lane’. Inspired by Terry Gilliam’s unmistakable animations and graphics, the original artwork was created by Kate Hepburn and has been adapted for a first release on picture disc by Darren Evans and Holly Gilliam, who were also responsible for 2019 ‘Life Of Brian’ RSD release. It was recorded in March 1974 on the last night of a sell-out four week-run at the London theatre. The album features live versions of sketches made famous on the BBC TV progamme Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

1971 soundtrack from Ennio Morricone Pressed on Transparent Clear Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano “Sacco e Vanzetti” is a 1971 dramatic movie directed by Giuliano Montaldo and masterfully starred by the two lead actors Gian Maria Volonté and Riccardo Cucciolla; the film deals with the everpopular topic of the death penalty by recounting a real event that caused quite a stir at the time: the sentencing to the electric chair of two Italian immigrants who were executed in 1927 after a sevenyear trial.

For “Sacco & Vanzetti” Ennio Morricone composed one of the most intense scores of his long and successful career, starting with the mostly romantic and extremely sad theme for oboe and orchestra “Speranze di libertà”. Joan Baez’s charming voice interprets “La ballata di Sacco e Vanzetti”, divided into three parts alternating with the macabre theme of “Nel carcere” provided by electronic effects and ripping strings that would fit well in a giallo movie. The ballad motif is then reprised and played by liturgical organ and orchestra in “Sacco e il figlio”, while “La sedia elettrica” is an experimental electronic music cut. The closing song “Here’s to You”, sung by Joan Baez, has become a sort of anthem worldwide.

On the occasion of Record Store Day 2024, this legendary soundtrack is exclusively reissued on clear vinyl, with new artwork and a 30x30cm insert. Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

1974 soundtrack from Ennio Morricone Pressed on Red Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano “Allonsanfàn” is a 1974 historical film written and directed by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani; set in 1816 in Italy during the Restoration period, its cast features, among others, Marcello Mastroianni, Lea Massari, Laura Betti and Mimsy Farmer.

“Allonsanfàn” is the first collaboration between the two directors and Morricone, who would also compose the music for the film “Il prato” (The Meadow, 1979). The soundtrack starts with a main marching theme, “Rabbia e tarantella”, introduced by the piano and reworked in a thrilling way by the full orchestra; Giuseppe Tornatore liked it so much that in 2009 he asked Morricone to write a similar musical theme for a sequence of the film “Baarìa”. This motif is alternated with the bucolic passages for flute and orchestra of “Ritorno a casa”, the festive “Dirindindin”, the classical piece “Te Deum Laudamus” for orchestra and choir and “Frammenti di sonata” for solo violin and small ensemble.

This score was only partially issued on vinyl in 1979, and subsequently only on CD; for the first time, then, it’s here released on clear red vinyl in an extended version, including a 30x30cm insert. Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

A Record Store Day 2024 exclusive!

This is the masterful score that Italian composer Franco Micalizzi created for the 1979 Sci-fi horror film Stridulum (aka. The Visitor). The Giulio Paradisi film featured a star-studded cast including Mel Ferrer, John Huston, and Shelley Winters. Although it wasn’t as commercially successful as expected at the time, its unique subject matter and expressive style eventually attracted a cult following. While Micalizzi is better known for his ‘Poliziotteschi’ flic scores and collaborations with director Umberto Lenzi, his trademark sound is unmistakably present on Stridulum with its visually evocative, engaging, and spacey take on funk. The film’s commercial performance aside, all this is enough to make Stridulum one of Micalizzi’s most captivating, if eccentric, works. Packed with great tracks such as the film’s main theme, the multiple variations on the ‘Sadness Theme’, and the standout sci-fi disco-funk of ‘Jerzy Again’, the Stridulum score offers plenty in the way of listening enjoyment. The present re-issue features the original artwork from the 1979 first pressing, along with bonus tracks including 7 alternate tracks and outtakes.

Clear Blue Vinyl Edition Gatefold Cover and Brand New Artwork! “Murderock - Uccide a passi di danza” (internationally released as “Murder Rock” is a thriller/horror 1984 film directed by legendary Lucio Fulci about a dance school in which a mysterious murderer kills female students with a long pin. Its soundtrack was entrusted by the producers to Keith Emerson, another incredible artist, a virtuoso keyboardist and composer. In those early 1980s, having temporarily shelved the prog-rock experience of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Keith Emerson launched a solo career that led him to compose a number of soundtracks, including “Inferno” (1980), “Nighthawks” (1981) and, then, “Murderock”: here we have an energetic mix of 80s pop/rock anthems, perfectly in line with the sounds of the time, dressed with baroque and magniloquent arrangements that make the whole result extravagant and eccentric, almost impossible to classify and consequently unique. The most ‘straightforward’ and least extravagant tracks are “Tonight Is The Night”, “Streets To Blame” and “Not So Innocent”, sung by special guests Doreen Chanter and Mike Sheppard. “Murderock” has become a cult title among genre film fans over the years, and is here reissued on the occasion of Black Friday 2023 in a new clear blue vinyl version with gatefold sleeve and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. It is only natural that an animated version was born in 2000, produced by Madhouse, under the name of “Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting! of 76 episodes (covering the first thirty volumes of the series). This narrates the beginnings and the rise of a high school student, Ippo Makunouchi, in the world of professional boxing. Find now a selection of the best anime music with rock and jazz accents with the final destination: The ring! Three composers worked for this selection: Tsuneo Imahori (trigun and Gungrave), Hideki Taniuchi (in collaboration with Yoshihisa Hirano on Death Note) and Naoya Mori.

Transversales proudly presents the first LP reissue of “Les granges brûlées”, original soundtrack written and performed by Jean-Michel Jarre shortly after his work experience at G.R.M (Groupe de Recherches Musicales). Probably one the first ever electronic music score, recorded with very scanty means: a Vcs3 synthesizer, a Farsifa organ and three synchronized Revox tape recorders. Director Jean Chapot, who understood immediately the interest in the gap between this hyper classical rural thriller and this groundbreaking music, let Jarre absolutely free to compose. Built up around several melodic leitmotifs, the score of “Les granges brûlées” allowed Jarre to pursue his personal research: to bridge the gap between experimental music and pop music. A long awaited release for a wonderful soundtrack composed by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis for the first italian cop-movie. A great proof of ability by the director Enzo G. Castellari with this superb movie interpreted by a great Franco Nero.

“Una pistola per Ringo” and “Il ritorno di Ringo” are two movies from 1965 that belong to the ‘spaghetti western’ genre, directed by Duccio Tessari and starring Giuliano Gemma as the main character. The two movies, not actually having much more in common besides their title and protagonist, were filmed in a very short time, thanks to the huge success of the first ‘chapter’. The soundtracks of both movies, by Ennio Morricone, show the incredible versatility of the composer, who at the time had already collaborated with Sergio Leone in “Per un pugno di dollari” and “Per qualche dollaro in più”. Thanks to the precious contribution of conductor Bruno Nicolai, the choir of the Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni, trumpeter Michere Lacerenza and harpist Anna Palombi, the Maestro wrote a mainly classical score, developing a wide range of sensations and dynamics in which epic atmosphere, drama and tension alternate to reflective moments or even romantic ones.

“La Califfa” (1970) is a very rare example in which the director and author of the book on which the film is inspired coincide; we’re talking about Alberto Bevilacqua, who won the Nastro D’Argento prize as Best New Director with this film. The film deals with the issue of the class struggle, and in particular the love-hate relationship between a businessman (Ugo Tognazzi) and a female worker (Romy Schneider, almost too sensual here) who lost her fiancé at the working place. A romantic and dramatic work, as the music written and orchestrated by Ennio Morricone, here often surrounded by an impressive aura of sacredness. This LP also features, as guests on voices and choirs, Edda Dell’Orso and I Cantori Moderni di Alessandro Alessandroni. Surprisingly, despite the success of the film and its soundtrack received at the time, “La Califfa” has never been reissued on LP since the early ’70s. This new edition on Vinyl Magic record label eventually fills this gap and, except for the front cover image, the artwork has been completely renewed: the inner sleeve contains in fact many reproductions of posters and lobby cards of the film. Various tracks, never released on LP until today, have also been added to the final tracklist.

Although this wasn’t directed by but Sergio Leone, but by the less known Giulio Petroni, “Tepepa” is one of the best films in the spaghetti western genre, thanks to a perfect synopsis – even if as set in the ‘abused’ Mexican Revolution of the early ‘900 – to a trio of exceptional actors and, finally, to Ennio Morricone’s soundtrack. The protagonists are in fact the immovable doctor John Steiner, the histrionic revolutionary Tomas Milian and the massive Colonel Orson Welles, a unique and practically unrepeatable combination, however directed in a ‘leone-ish’ way by Petroni, who often focuses on large panoramas and close-ups on the character’s faces. As always, Morricone means quality: for “Tepepa” the Maestro creates a memorable soundtrack, dominated by strings and, curiously, by the acoustic guitar! Reissued several times on CD, this album has been reissued on vinyl almost 40 years later! When the film was premiered in the theatres (1969) just a the single 45rpm “Viva la Revolucion / In Mexico I would like” had been released; both songs are of course included here, the second of which is sung by Christy (stage name of Mary Cristina Brancucci) in a very felt and compelling way.

Another dream coming true! One of Giuliano Sorgini’s finest and most sought-after titles is finally available as an official LP reissue – the first ever – remastered from the original tapes.
Originally released in 1971 on the small library music imprint FAMA, which operated as a sub-label of RCA Italy, the record contains the original music written for Scappo per cantare, a small, pseudo-psychedelic ‘musicarello’ (musical comedy film) broadcast on RAI television and starring, among others, Italian singers Gianni Morandi and Mauro Lusini.
The only credited album artist is Sorgini, but it’s impossible not to perceive, in this record, the hand of his close friend and colleague Alessandro Alessandroni.
This should not come as a surprise. In the early 70s, the two composers and multi-instrumentalists had a fruitful collaboration that saw them, under the monikers Braen (Alessandroni) and Raskovich (Sorgini), produce an abundance of works together, most of which have now gained the recognition they deserve. These include, among others, two 7” singles from their band The Pawnshop, three records in the series Alle sorgenti delle civiltà (Folkmusic), the crime/noir library albums Quarta pagina (Usignolo) and Inchiesta giudiziaria (Octopus Records), as well as the LP Tempo Libero (Panda Records), which was released shortly after the record presented here and in some ways drew rhythmic inspiration from it.
While their collaboration remained unacknowledged on the original release of Scappo per cantare (this was not uncommon at the time, especially in the field of library music), the record sounds perfectly in line with other works composed by Alessandroni in the early 70s, such as Complesso Gisteri’s Mostra Collettiva (co-written with Oronzo De Filippi), or even a landmark album like Spontaneous, where Sorgini contributed to a handful of tracks.
So, yes, the sheer beauty of Scappo per cantare is the result of an incredible synergy between two heavyweights of Italian library music! Airy and sweeping melodies à la Zoo Folle, psychedelia à la Under Pompelmo, and various percussion instruments played by Sorgini seamlessly blend and fuse with elements and touches provided by Alessandroni.
More specifically, we find Alessandroni’s signature, melancholy whistle in “Desolazione”; the peaceful and dreamy sound of his 12-string guitar in “Scogliere” and “Con Amore”; the trademark harmonies of his vocal ensemble Cantori Moderni in the last two tracks mentioned and in “Per cantare”; and his ingenious use of distortion on his Fender Stratocaster in the suspenseful transitions “Concentrazione” and “Fantocci”, as well as in the frantic/hypnotic hippie numbers “Mordente” and “Fendente” (as a side note, it is worth remembering that Alessandroni experimented extensively with distortion in the rock-infused album Underground, co-written with De Filippi and released in 1971 under the moniker Braen’s Machine, probably a reference to British psychedelic band Soft Machine).
The creative relationship between Sorgini and Alessandroni was so symbiotic that it would be useless to try to identify in more detail their respective contributions to the sound of Scappo per cantare. The alchemy between these two musical geniuses is the key to the album’s exquisitely Italian mixture of cheerful lounge, sweet psychedelia and smooth easy listening.
To do justice to the quality of the music, this remastered reissue is enriched by a new artwork by Eric Adrian Lee, who drew inspiration from the psychedelic visual culture of the period in which the album was written and recorded.

It is a noteworthy collection of works that has not faded with the unique scent of Sanullim, and contains several songs that still shine with charming emotions and whimsical or vague sensibilities. 〈Express Train (Inside)〉, a mountain sound-style hard rock with dynamic rhythm, fuzz guitar, and Kim Chang-hoon's wild shouting, Kim Chang-wan's soft vocal and brilliant keyboard sound, 〈Can't Tell Anyone〉, Love It includes the elegant performance songs and , and the beautiful song that achieves the climax of romance and lyricism. This soundtrack is one of many Cinevox Record rarities, this time brought forth over 50 years ago by the genius of Ennio Morricone, in the heyday of Italian underground cinema, years when true masterpieces were made, often innovative from various points of view (plot, photography, colors, settings, screenplay...). "4 Mosche di Velluto Grigio" (4 Flies on Grey Velvet) ends the so-called 'animal trilogy' by Dario Argento, and sees the director in an absolutely inspired moment, yet probably unconscious that he'll leave an indelible mark in the history of world cinema with his following works. This movie, for some reasons, was never officially released on videotape - apart, perhaps, in an obscure French edition - and only recently has finally been issued on optical disc, while from the soundtrack only released a 45rpm single was pressed at the time, before it was fully recovered in the '90s. In "4 Flies ..." Morricone wrote one of his most 'rock-oriented' soundtracks - without of course neglecting his indelible touch - also thanks to the fact that the protagonist of the film is a rock drummer. You hear echoes of Deep Purple, not surprisingly given that Argento wanted them as the first authors of the movie score, and it is no coincidence that his most famous film is titled... Deep Red!

"Rivelazioni di un maniaco sessuale al capo della squadra mobile" (best known internationally as “So sweet, so dead”) is a 1972 giallo film by Roberto Bianchi Montero, director of various other movies mainly belonging to the western and erotic genres; the latter is here mixed with thriller and noir, for a very good final result. The soundtrack is here entrusted to the well-known pianist, arranger and composer Giorgio Gaslini (1929-2014); among the most important Italian jazz musicians of all time, he’s been quite prolific during his whole career, also in the vast field of soundtracks. In this case, he creates a memorable theme with a handful of notes and enriches it with typical 70s orchestral pop arrangements, adding an elegant touch with easy-listening jazz and lounge atmospheres. Overall, “Rivelazioni…” is a multi-genre music work in which mellow and romantic sounds coexist with more obscure and abstract ones, made with only string instruments and percussion. Originally released in 1972, this soundtrack is now reissued on LP for the first time in over 50 years, in a yellow-coloured edition with audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano and five bonus tracks here released on vinyl for the first time ever!

Following the release of Lee Selmoco's "Mosaico" we continue our journey with Vedette Records to bring back to life part of their incredible catalog, with the reissue of the first instalment of the "High Tension" series by Lesiman. Born in Florence in 1935, Paolo Renosto, the man behind the moniker Lesiman, was an incredible composer, experimenter, music teacher and piano player whose amazing skills and sound research brought him to work with Luigi Dallapiccola and Bruno Maderna, as well as being a member of the Associazione Nuova Consonanza of Roma. He obviously joined, for some time, the renowned Gruppo d’Improvvisazione, with Franco Evangelisti and Domenico Guaccero. Released exactly 50 years ago and packed with dramatic tension, obscure drums and asphyxiating atmospheres revolving around the theme of war, composed with the additional input of Romolo Grano, Sandro Brugnolini and Guido Baggiani, this first volume in the series is a holy grail in Italian libraries as well as a prime example of "music especially crafted for films, television, radio, publicity and industrial use". Now available on vinyl for the first time as a limited edition of 500 copies.

The magic 80s nostalgia is here! Sonor Music Editions in collaboration with Beppe Savoni and Giuseppe Giammetta, respectively known in the digital space as Disco Bambino and Sovraimpressione announce a special release by the Italian queen of silver screen, actress Eleonora Giorgi. The limited edition 7-inch includes a rework of the 1981 soulful disco track "Quale Appuntamento...", written by Bipap, Cristiano Malgioglio & Pino Presti, originally released on the iconic Ricordi label; on the B-side, restored and for the first time ever on vinyl, "Magic", taken from the 1980 original soundtrack of the film "Mia Moglie È Una Strega", with music arranged and directed by Detto Mariano.

Joel Vandroogenbroeck was an arranger, conductor, producer and, above all, a unique multi-instrumentalist in the world of music. The Belgian artist was also famous for being the only permanent member of the group Brainticket and the main promoter of its creativity, often renewed with the contribution of exotic instruments. At the dawn of the Seventies, this versatile musician began a parallel life as a composer of singular music libraries tailored to comment documentary images. “L'Immagine Del Suono” was one of them, originally released by Italy's Flirt Records and now repressed on vinyl by Musica Per Immagini for the first time. This album circulated, however, unnoticed in a limited number of copies among insiders, only rediscovered later by fans, thus raising Joel Vandroogenbroeck as a real pioneer of ambient and new age music. It is appropriate to consider the twelve short-lived pieces of “L'Immagine Del Suono” as a sort of continuous and visionary experiment, with the addition of electronic gasps, a strong dose of inevitable psychedelia, fragments of synthesized jazz, all coming from experiences both internal and external, hallucinatory and hedonistic. All of this combined creates a mysterious and abstract hybrid. Sonic raw material is sculpted with artisanal care, at times twisted and cryptic, characterized by a transversal irony, to the point that the interference of rock elements in the course of the set divert the listener's attention and momentarily interrupt the flow of consciousness. “L'Immagine Del Suono” is a concentrated example of the avant-garde, free from categorisation of any kind, developed in a non-commercial key and, equally, is drawn from a direct line via what was previously expressed within the folds of the then contemporary works of Brainticket.

The long-awaited LP reissue of the soundtrack version of the masterpiece movie “Marusa no Onna” directed by Juzo Itami, set in the National Tax Bureau Inspection Department, will be released on December 3rd! Starting with the main theme “Woman of Marsa”, which has an extremely powerful flowing saxophone melody, this is a masterpiece of Toshiyuki Honda’s impressive sound suitable for a film full of originality.

Brainticket was an obscure Krautrock band born out of a 60's jazz group featuring Belgian born keyboardist Joel Vandroogenbroeck, based in Switzerland. The leader went for a fortunate solo career after the former group disbanded, reaching a cult status especially in Italy with a series of sought after libraries. Released in 1978 on Cenacolo, Images Of Flute In Nature is pure magic translated in music. Conceived by Joel with a little help from vocalist Carole Muriel (an American performer already involved in Brainticket and Drum Circus), the album is literally a deep connection between kosmische music, ambient and ethno-global rhythms.

for music, experimenter in his genetic code, innovator by vocation, at ease with various instruments in order to forge
avant-garde themes. Piero Umiliani was already forward in building completely new sounds in the late Seventies. “Tra
Scienza E Fantascienza” finds his alter ego Moggi experimenting with alternative grooves, electronic music, jazz tunes
and soundtrack motifs. One of the most interesting music libraries in the Italian composer's discography, reissued with a
new remastering by Musica Per Immagini, is in full harmony with its title.

sometimes apocalyptic, at times familiarly near, more often disarmingly far away, and always capable of inspiring our
imagination. For the histrionic artist it took, perhaps, less of a cosmic leap to create this masterpiece. Centred on the
cover, a strange creature with only one eye, its hands on a beaker containing a mysterious red liquid. To its right, a
symbolic circle is imprinted on a sandy surface, and three bizarre constructions, similar to the volumetric flasks found in
a laboratory, of differing heights and shapes. There is a strange blue planet in the distance.

Behold! Yes, Blue Butterfly, one of the absolute stunners on the revered Selected Sound, is finally available for all the beat-heads. Heavyweight library funk with a psychedelic touch, the super in-demand Blue Butterfly from *deep breath* Hardy's Jet Band, Orchestra Klaus Wuesthoff, Jan Troysen Band and Orchestra Gary Pacific - was originally released in 1971. Incredibly ahead of its time, it's been rare and sought-after for decades.

For many aficionados, this is the best Selected Sound release. Loaded with fuzzy wah-wah guitar, deep flute-lines atop soulful psych-rock breakbeats and huge organ action, its uncompromising funk will blow you away. Sampled for many hip hop beats and dropped by well known rare groove DJs around the world, one jewel in particular from this glorious German vault needs little introduction. The intro to Orchestra Gary Pacific's mesmeric "Soft Wind" rides the illest, crispest drum break you've perhaps never heard - like, the drum break to end them all - alongside a smooth, deep bass line from the heavens. It featured notoriously on the beloved Dusty Fingers comps of the 90s and was brilliantly sampled by Pacewon for his eternal "Sunroof Top". Just listen and be dazzled.

Beyond this mini-masterpiece, the other killer tracks offer brilliance in abundance. Hardy's Jet Band take control of the full A side, and it's full of dynamic psych-funk bombs. Hard, "big city" industrial groovers. In particular, the initial one-two of "Sorry, Doc!" and "Wind It Up" provide thrilling funky-blues rock instrumentals showcasing relentless guitars, flutes, sax and organ, the latter containing gorgeous, hypnotic breakdowns; these tracks just slay. The title track, "Blue Butterfly" is a real deep strut of a track with fantastic soloing from guitar and flute over crisp drums whilst the highway banger "What You Call To Be Free" certainly sounds a lot like unbridled, rhythmical liberty.

On the flip, the ghost-riding "Lady In Space" is a string-drenched acid-western foxtrot. Yep. “Pop Happening” by Jan Troysen Band is a heavy, druggy psych-fuzz organ groover whilst their slow beat-organ-flute gem "A Blue Message" is a gorgeous psych floater conjuring deeply strange frontier lands. Preceding their monster "Soft Wind", the soulful, uptempo groover “Ghetto Gap” by Orchestra Gary Pacific contains solo piano and flute whilst closing out the set is the free-and-easy samba beat of "So Far".

Founded in the late 60s by German composer and musician Klaus Netzle (who recorded under the alias Claude Larson for Sonoton) Selected Sound began as a production music company specialising in jazz, orchestral and electronic recordings. You can’t miss those early LPs in their iconic glossy metallic copper sleeves with minimal German typography. Serious, classy stuff.

Wow! Tonio Rubio's Rhythms is a stone-cold killer, a heavyweight library breaks LP and the inaugural release in Be With's new partnership with legendary French library label Tele Music. Yes, you lucky people, there's lots to come. For this extremely special 50 year anniversary re-issue, we've reproduced the classic Tele Music sleeve with a full colour insert featuring rare photographs, fresh liner notes and personal memories of Tonio from the likes of Jean-Claude Vannier, Jean-Claude Petit and Janko Nilovic.

Sumptuous opener “Latin Leitmotiv” is all funky phasing effects and a killer montuno, with what sounds like piano and bass in tandem, stoking straight up Latin fire. The gritty hard funk of blaxploitation groove "Red Medium" is dripping in wah-wah attitude and head-nod oddness. The atmospheric, exotica-tinged "Dead Slow" emulates the languid, sensual afro groove of Quincy Jones’ wild masterpiece “Gula Matari” whilst the proggy, electric jazz fusion epic "Rock 73" is 9+ minutes of moody, rolling menace.

But the *real* highlight of this cult classic - and why it has long been *so* desirable - is the devastating, deep, hypnotic minimalist groove of "Bass In Action N°1". Very much in conversation with Quincy's rendition of "Hummin'", the loping, rumbling bassline and sweet electric piano over clean, crisp drums making it one of those tracks that sounds like a hip-hop beat 20 years ahead of time. Sensational. “Bass In Action N°2“ features Tonio's own vocal scat performance. Remarkable.

Antonio "Tonio" Rubio Garcia got his start playing the double bass in jazz clubs. In 1962, Tonio joined the Golden Stars, the first backing band of France’s teenage idol Johnny Hallyday. A genius musician with a unique guitar sound, he played on standards of French chanson including Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot’s "Bonnie and Clyde", Françoise Hardy’s "Tous les Garçons et les Filles", Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin’s "Je T’aime, Moi Non Plus" and Serge and Charlotte Gainsbourg’s infamous "Lemon Incest". Tonio also lent his brilliance to such legendary figures as Janko Nilovic, Jean-Claude Petit, Hervé Roy, and Jean-Claude Vannier. The latter remembers Tonio as “a secretive, mysterious man, with an endearing personality, albeit difficult to reach out to. His virtuosity as a bass player allowed me to write very innovative basslines, because he was able to play any of my eccentricities!”

The fourth release in the "Morricone Segreto" series is the first complete issue of Morricone's psychedelic, erotic music for the film "Quando L'amore È Sensualità" (When Love is Lust, 1973), one of the legendary Italian's many masterpieces. Some tracks had already been heard on compilations and have cult status among Morricone fans. Here you can hear the unabridged soundtrack with 11 previously unreleased tracks for the first time, freshly remastered from the original tapes.

In 1968, the future composer of The Things of Life (Les Choses de la Vie) seriously considered becoming a director. He wrote and shot Florence, a short film influenced by the New Wave and composed its soundtrack, under the benevolent eye of Vladimir Cosma. The first spectators of the film are unanimous: failing to have seen a visionary cinematographic opus, they have discovered a real movie musician. From this first attempt, Philippe Sarde imposes his melodic talent on the picture and initiates his sense of counterpoint. This founding soundtrack, however, remained in the boxes for more than 50 years, before finding a place of choice on the B side of our album. To open the ball, we offer you another forgotten score: the almost unused score of Loulou, Maurice Pialatís cult classic. In 1980, the naturalist director planned to use original music to accompany the wanderings of his sublime love duo, played by Gerard Depardieu and Isabelle Huppert. He commissioned a bare, impressionistic score from Philippe Sarde, then changed his mind and kept only a timid end credits. The meeting between the two giants of French cinema did however take place, as evidenced by the first side of this beautiful lp. This album was produced from a high definition transfer of analog tapes, without compression or alteration, and respecting the dynamics of the original recordings.

Daughters of Darkness is a 1971 English-spoken Belgian horror film. Directed by Harry Kümel, this cult erotic vampire film stars Delphine Seyrig, Danielle Ouimet, John Karlen, and Andrea Rau. The story features a newlywed couple that stops at a posh French hotel on their way to England. They meet a beautiful, red-lipped woman whom the hotel owner swears had been there 40 years ago, even though she hasn't aged. She introduces herself as Countess of Bathory and folks begin to wonder.It's score was created by multiple award-winning composer François de Roubaix, who is seen as a precursor of the French electronic music next to his jazz expertise. Years after it's original release, the music was picked up and sampled by several hip hop artists, such as Ice-T, Ab-Soul and Lil Wayne. Critics, actors, and directors call it one of the best horror movies ever made. A retrospective poll by Time Out in the early 2010s placed the film at number 90 in their top 100 horror films.In 2021, we celebrate the movie's 50th anniversary. Filmfestival Gent will show the movie in it's entity with an orchestra playing the score. With the help of director Harry Kümel and Patricia and Benjamin de Roubaix, the Original Soundtrack of Daughters of Darkness is available on black vinyl and contains an exclusive poster and printed innersleeves.

Directed in 1972 by Romano Scavolini, "Un Bianco Vestito Per Mariale'" features a cast with some familiar faces from the Italian thriller genre like Evelyn Stewart and Ivan Rassimov. The film was scored by a great name of the Italian film music scene, Fiorenzo Carpi, whose music was superbly arranged and conducted with his own and unique great style by Bruno Nicolai. Originally released on vinyl by Gemelli in 1975, three years after the release of the movie, this score is dominated by the Mariale' theme both with Piano and orchestra and Edda Dell'Orso's voice and orchestra versions, and also features several lounge and tensive themes. Long out of print, we are proud to bring this beautiful soundtrack back on vinyl as a limited edition of 500 copies, including the instrumental version of "Mariale'" and an alternative arrangement of "Garden Party", available on vinyl for the first time

For the first time ever, Zoo Folle in its full, extended glory. Back in 2016 Four Flies Records put out the first official reissue of Zoo Folle. It sold out in a matter of months, leaving many vinyl collectors hungry for more. Curtains is a 1983 Canadian slasher-horror movie that tells the story of six actors competing for a role to die for. They are lured to director Jonathan Stryker’s (John Vernon - Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Dirty Harry, Heavy Metal) home during a snowstorm to compete for the role of 'Audra' where they are met with manipulation, predacious men, and a murderous masked hag. Prepared to fight for the role, these women were not expecting to fight for their lives!

The score for Curtains threatens brutality with menacing strings following the women throughout the film, as they are stalked and preyed on by a masked murderer and their doll companion. Paul Zaza, who brought us fan favorites like My Bloody Valentine and Prom Night, delivers again with Curtains!

More than 40 years since it’s original release in 1979, we’ve rummaged backstage at The Muppet Theatre to dust off timeless recordings like the Oscar-nominated “Rainbow Connection” and the road trip ditty, “Movin’ Right Along,” sparing no executional detail to give this album the treatment it deserves. The music by legends, Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher, is undisputedly excellent, charming in its love of lyricism, with perfectly-honed harmonies and arrangements. These are the songs that rocketed The Muppets from mere TV stardom to the realm of rockstars, featuring outstanding performances by Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (with Animal on wicked drums), and so many more. Born in 1936 in New York City, David Hess began his career recording million-dollar chart toppers for the likes of Elvis Presley, Sal Mineo & Andy Williams in the 50ies & 60ies. His biggest hit is probably ‘Speedy Gonzales’ which ended up selling more than eight million copies worldwide. After a career as a record company executive the 1970s, Hess took on the role of actor, writer, director and producer in the movie industry. Writing and working with directors as Rainer Werner Fassbinder and directing the 1980 slasher “To All A Good Night” were only a few of his many accomplishments.

Most of us will remember him as Krug Stillo, the leader of a gang in Wes Craven’s classic 1972 cult shocker “The Last House On The Left” as well as portraying the villains in Ruggero Deodato’s “House on the Edge of the Park” (1980) and Wes Craven’s “Swamp Thing” (1982). Other movie roles include ’21 Hours At Munich’, ‘Hitch-Hike’, ‘Body Count’ and ‘Zodiac Killer’. David Hess also appeared regularly on the TV screen with appearances in shows such as ‘Knight Rider’, ‘The A-Team’, ‘The Fall Guy’ & ‘Royal Pains’.

Throughout his film career Hess’ love for music never waned. He continued to produce music, including several albums (“Caught Up In The Moment” and “Live & Unplugged in Hollywood, 2002.”). Some of his music can also be heard on more recent soundtracks, such as ‘Cabin Fever’ (2002) and ‘Manhunt’ (2008). On October 7, 2004 just two years after his role in the 2009 horror epic “Smash Cut” starring Sasha Grey, David Hess sadly passed away at the age of 75. He will forever be in our hearts.

David Hess composed the soundtrack for ‘Last House on the Left’ & his work here contains some truly beautiful songs, the discovery of which, for some, may be in stark contrast to the brutal displays of sadism and violence for which he was known to purvey onscreen. The fact that Hess could perform as both the poet, and the monster, is a testament to his skill as an artist. The soundtrack to Last House On The Left is a brilliantly unique and diverse mixture of farcical comedy, poignant, reflective folk music and instrumental experimentalism. Hess constructed a wonderful counterbalancing entity, which serves only to accentuate the impact of the movie.
