Recorded in 1976 by Invisible Girls’ Steve Hopkins and Martin Hannett for a truly
bizarre stop-motion animation called All Sorts OF Heroes, this hard edged funk
instrumental theme reveals another side to this versatile production team joining the
hidden dots between ESG, Gyro, A Certain Ratio and Afro Express.

Like much of the lost and unreleased projects that stalled on the peripheries of early
proto-Madchester, including the disco-pogo music of Spider King, Gerry And The
Holograms, The 48 Chairs, Naffi and The Mothmen, this record has been frozen in
time waiting for the wider marathon of independent pop to catch up!

'Waterpark' is a film score written for Director Evan Prosofsky's same titled film, and explores the neutral element of sound in a massive indoor water park located in west Edmonton Mall, in the province of Alberta. A vacation home to countless stranded Canadians with no vacation in sight.

The instrumentation of oscillators, heavily reverberated strings, mellotron/chamberlain, and experimental electric guitar sets the mood for this bizarre plastic tropical paradise thats within a shopping mall.

After their first Cineploit release, "Omaggio a Lucio Fulci and Fabio Frizzi“ (Exploit 02, 2012, Vinyl only) and the follow up, "Omaggio a Riz Ortolani“ (Exploit 06, 2015, Vinyl only) Lawa now takes a ride through the furthest reaches of '70s and '80s French and Italian cinema. From Michel Colombier, Michel Legrand and Jacques Revaux to Alessandro Alessandroni, Daniele Patucchi, Nico Catanese and G & M de Angelis, every base is covered. And, of course, not to forget the Master of them all: Ennio Morricone (rip).

These very special tracks have been renewed in Lawa's dark electronic style, proving without a doubt the high-level craft of the composers extraordinaire that created them. Some versions are close to the original, but others have acted as springboards for new ideas and creations. This release is probably Lawa's final reinterpretation of classic obscure film scores, as Messrs Leonard and Wank are creating more and more of their own atmospheric soundtrack music for documentaries, shorts and feature films - hopefully soon to be released via Cineploit as well. Stanley Kubrick has a troubled past with Deerhoof. An argument over whether Eyes Wide Shut was good almost broke up the band in 1999 and again in 2003. When Famous Class suggested a 7" of music from The Shining, the band waffled for three years about whether they thought they could do it justice. But once a Halloween release date was proposed, Deerhoof couldn't resist. They got the score to Bartok's "Music For Strings, Percussion and Celesta" out of the library, and transcribed one of the 20s songs straight from the closing credits. Music that in the movie echoed from some ghostly, gilded past takes on a more urgent character in Deerhoof's versions, as if to underscore that the horrors of white supremacy, oligarchy, and domestic abuse are alive and well in 2018 America.

John Carpenter's 1980 follow-up film to his smash hit Halloween featured ghost sailors terrorizing a Californian coastal community as a dense fog descends on their
homes. The multi-talented filmmaker's atmospheric synthesiser score has long been a soundtrack favourite and this 7" single features its two most recognisable themes.

The Nest is a 2020 thriller film written, directed, and produced by Sean Durkin. It tells the story of a family plunged into uncertainty upon relocation from America to England, as the tense isolation of their new home affects them differently. Its soundtrack was arranged by Richard Reed Parry, a Canadian multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, best known as a core member of the Grammy Award-winning indie rock band Arcade Fire, where he plays a wide variety of instruments. The Nest is available as a limited edition of 500 individually numbered copies on crystal clear vinyl. The package includes an insert with pictures from the movie.

Waxwork Records is excited to present the deluxe double LP film score release of The Eyes Of My Mother. Written and directed by Nicolas Pesce, The Eyes Of My Mother is a 2016 black and white horror film that focuses on a young woman, Francisca (Kika Magalhães) that grows up on the family farm where she has previously witnessed the murder of her mother during her adolescence. After keeping her mother’s murderer captive for years, and plagued by loneliness after the death of her father, Francisca begins a bizarre chain of actions that include luring victim’s back to the family farmhouse, dismemberment, kidnapping an infant to raise as her own son, and personally exhuming her mother.

Composed by Ariel Loh, the score to The Eyes Of My Mother is dark, haunting, and atmospheric. Composed entirely on vintage, modded analog synthesizers, the score effectively presents a tune drifting, ghostly, and often beautiful collection of compositions that captures the lead characters psychosis and devolvement.

The score to The Eyes Of My Mother has been pressed to two 180 gram colored vinyl records and housed in a deluxe, heavyweight old-style gatefold jacket with satin coating. Features include composer liner notes by Ariel Loh, new artwork by illustrator Nikita Kaun, and an 11”x11” art print.

Pre-Cert, short for pre-certi?cation video, is a UK phrase that refers to a VHS tape released prior to the introduction of the 1984 Video Recordings Act. As the then new VHS market was completely unregulated, these editions were not required to be submitted to the BBFC, meaning the releases were completely uncensored - soon leading to the "video nasties" outrage. Today these tapes are sought after items on the collector's market. With his Cineploit debut, Magnus Sellergren set out to further and improve on the concept of Videogram's previous "S/T" 2014 album. Inspiration was drawn from the same sources as the previous full length effort, with the key words being bigger, better, and more produced. The result is an album created during a six-month period, between January and June 2015, starting with a total of thirty-some tracks that were written, then re-written - in some cases even completely rearranged - polished, and ?nally whittled down to a thirteen-track, 40+ minute full length LP/CD. Starting off with the now-familiar Videogram idents, Pre-Cert covers an assortment of classic genre-in?uenced sounds; from occult horror, 1980s Cannon action, thrillers and post-apocalyptics to "cannibal freakouts" (as he affectionately calls them), Italian-produced erotica, 1970s Spanish horror, the iconic Friday the 13th series and climaxing with a mammoth ?ve-part, 13-minute tribute to John Carpenter's sci-? horror classic "The Thing". The journey Videogram started in 2014 is now taking a huge step forward, offering the same amount of affection for the VHS format and genres as his previous efforts, but more focused, polished and well executed!

The original Soundtrack to Greek-German director Nikias Chrssos’ new feature, ‘A Pure Place’, scored by John Gürtler (Eigenlicht, Counter019), with his studio partner Jan Miserre, and featuring a track by chameleonic British artist Shackleton. Full Info: The script for A Pure Place had a dizzying effect on John Gürtler & Jan Miserre; their minds reeling with the possibilities. From Persian sheep bells, Chinese sheng, prepared trombone, quarter-tone piano, a beaten-up cembalo, hand percussion, and a room full of synthesizers, embryonic compositions and experiments came to life early on in the project. An electro-acoustic extravaganza, the soundtrack for A Pure Place takes a deep bow towards the many magnificent composers and scores from the late 60s and 70s where orchestral arrangements met with tape loops, psychedelia, and instruments from across the globe. Listening to that era of film music, anything seems possible. The minimalist tones of ‘Ritual Bells’ set the dial to weird in the opening sequence of the movie, whilst ‘The Island’ makes use of ambient vocals recorded through an oil drum, gently introducing one of the score’s main themes with a distant quarter-tone cembalo. Acclaimed British artist Shackleton’s eerie original version of ‘Fust’s Song’ (also included) was a tonal keystone for the entire soundtrack. Gürtler and Miserre translated his psychedelic electronic blueprint, layering acoustic instruments and bottom-heavy percussion in their ‘Paradox Paradise’ production style.

Cave Interactive CO., LTD., in collaboration with Limited Run Games and Brave Wave Productions, is proud to unveil the 19th entry in the Generation Series of video game soundtracks, DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou The Definitive Soundtrack for CD and vinyl. Originally released for Arcade (2012) and on Xbox 360 (2013) in Japan, DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou is the latest arcade release in the DoDonPachi series in the legendary hardcore bullet-hell shoot-’em-up franchise, long respected by dedicated players for its frantic action and rewarding gameplay. The soundtrack features 13 memorable songs by acclaimed Japanese game composer Manabu Namiki. Whether players are scrolling through a relatively simple section or fighting for survival as they’re assaulted by enemies on all sides, this gem of a soundtrack is seeing its first release outside of Japan for the first time on physical formats.

Originally issued in 2011, Ashcan Copy is the third instalment in Rashomon's Film Music series of LPs. Cineploit Records is proud to present this re-release, and to introduce the record to a wider audience than the 150 lucky souls who snagged a copy of the ultra-limited initial release on Hlava Records.
Active since 2009, Rashomon is the solo project of Matt Thompson, also of Cineploit mainstays Zoltan. This is his second release on the label under the Rashomon name, following 2014's LP/DVD extravaganza The Cameraman's Revenge: Film Music Vol. 4 – the final release in the Film Music series to date.
The previous edition to this, 2009's The Finishing Line: Film Music Vol. 2, had focused on re-creating the psychological mind-state of the wilder end of 1970s British public information films. By way of change Ashcan Copy is presented as an album of soundtrack cues from films that were, for one reason or another, never released. The films, hailing from Italy, Japan and the USA (among others) supposedly date from the 1950s to the 1970s, and were (according to the extensive sleeve notes) exactingly sourced from film archives across Europe.
In reality, all the music is self-composed. The eight tracks include elements of noise, folk, psychedelia, prog and noir-jazz within their elaborate constructions, created with a panoply of instrumentation including Mellotron, zither, home-made percussion, Fender Rhodes, harmonium, MiniMoog and more. Delicate and sensuous, heavy and oppressive – the record negotiates these musical contradictions while retaining a single-minded pursuit of strangeness and surprise.
Having finally found its spiritual home on soundtrack specialist label Cineploit, Ashcan Copy can at last be heard by all.

Since its creation in 2007, Hifiklub has led more than 150 collaborations which have allowed the Toulon trio to open its music to multiple artistic experiences revealing a constant desire for research and novelty. From unprecedented encounters to unique projects, Hifiklub has developed over the years a now substantial discography whose musical proposals range from pop to jazz through the most experimental sounds and even traditional music. One path, however, remained unexplored: contemporary music."Last Party On Earth" is organized around the association of three energies: contemporary composer Jean-Michel Bossini, singer Duke Garwood and the instrumental ensemble Hifiklub. Surrounded by mysticism and darkness, the creation has cinematographic dimensions. In the cinema, the composer must go to meet the filmmakers, enter their world, but without giving up his own. This is the difficulty or the paradox of music for the image. By collaborating with directors from a wide variety of backgrounds, I think I have indirectly discovered a lot about myself. It helped me to progress, to explore territories that were not naturally mine. Cinema is a laboratory where I have sought to construct original orchestral formulas combining Corsican polyphonies, musicians from jazz, variety, classical, or even rappers. Like the world today, a fragmented world where all cultures mingle. So said Bruno Coulais, one of the most innovative composers of contemporary cinema, during the tribute paid to him in 2011 at the Cinémathèque de Paris

In 1978, Bruno Coulais, a young composer of concert works, discovered in film music a new means of expression, a way of bringing the demands of his writing to the masses. François Reichenbach, then Josée Dayan, Jacques Davila, Souleymane Cissé or Laurent Heynemann, first on television and then in the cinema, lead him of his own accord in the discovery of this new world.

In 1995, he composed the music for Microcosmos. This centimeter-scale initiatory journey offers him the opportunity to reveal the full dimension of his writing. He injects into his score a strange lyricism, between wonder and fantasy, confirming the lesson learned from François Reichenbach: "to any documentary image, music brings a part of fiction".

The success of Microcosmos established the musician and made him the indispensable composer of other natural tales, notably alongside Jacques Perrin (Le Peuple migrateur, Oceans, Les Saisons, etc.). Other long-term relationships will be forged, in particular with Benoît Jacquot, with whom he has worked for more than a decade, not to mention Frédéric Schoendoerffer, James Huth or Jean-Paul Salomé.

In addition to great popular successes such as Les Choristes, Brice de Nice or Sur La Piste Du Marsipulami, it is hardly surprising that this insatiable curiosity has found in the animated cinema the most inspiring playgrounds, in particular through his collaboration with two exceptional designers, Henry Selick and Tomm Moore.

The first, American director of The Nightmare Before Christmas produced by Tim Burton, invites Bruno Coulais to sign in 2009 the magnificent score of Coraline (film nominated for the Oscars). 10 years later, he is about to find him for a new and beautiful Wendell & Wild adventure. For Irishman Tomm Moore, Bruno Coulais has already composed the music for two Oscar-nominated films, The Secret of Kells (2009) and Song Of the Sea (2014), and in 2020 he will sign the score for Wolfwalkers.

Whether it is about author's films or more mainstream films, Bruno Coulais maintains the same standards, always considering his art as a window open to the world. Much less wise than it seems, he reveals in it a gift of a modern alchemist and a very personal way of mixing the most diverse cultures in universal harmony at work.
