This is another, after "Ultraviolet" collaboration project of the AXN Polska, U Know Me Records and the artist - Wojtek UrbaÅ„ski. The soundtrack for the Rysa series with Wojtek's original music will premiere on the 9th April. "The music for the Rysa series is a combination of the world of electronics, modernity with traditional instruments and folk accents. On one side we have synthesizers, deep bass and wide spaces, characteristic of electronic music and close to my musical style. In opposition to these elements, however, I used traditional instruments such as hurdy-gurdy, pipes, flutes and strings" says Wojtek UrbaÅ„ski. "I wanted the duality of this music to reflect the struggles and double life of the main character of the series. She lives in a certain suspension, between the 'day' world which she knows and remembers, but also the 'night' world which happens beyond her consciousness. Previous collaborations between the composer and director include Cabin Fever, Hostel, and Hostel: Part II. The thematic, haunting score features a 34 piece string ensemble, an 11 piece brass ensemble, and features a newly restored Wurlitzer pipe organ which was previously housed at the 20th Century Fox scoring stage from the 1920’s until the mid-1990’s.

“Walk the Line: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” is the soundtrack album to the 2005 biographical drama film of the same name released November, 2005. There are nine songs performed by Joaquin Phoenix (as Johnny Cash), four songs by Reese Witherspoon (as June Carter Cash), one song by Waylon Payne (as Jerry Lee Lewis), one song by Johnathan Rice (as Roy Orbison), two songs by Tyler Hilton (as Elvis Presley), and one song by Shooter Jennings (as Waylon Jennings).

At the Golden Globe Awards Joaquin Phoenix was awarded the Best Actor - Musical or Comedy and Reese Witherspoon was awarded the Best Actress - Musical or Comedy, as well as the film won the Best Picture - Musical or Comedy. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and Best Actress, which Witherspoon won.

The cover features the two stars in an early publicity still, several of which were included as bonus postcards in the Collector's Edition DVD.

As of May 17, 2006 the soundtrack was certified platinum by the RIAA with over 1,000,000 copies sold.

On February 11, 2007 this album won a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

Lesbo" is a 1969 erotic film directed by Edoardo Mulargia, his only experiment in this genre within a filmography mostly focused on Western films and sentimental/romantic comedies. Calling "Lesbo" an underground film is practically an understatement, as no official home video releases of this movie seem to exist; its soundtrack instead has luckily survived to the present day and, given the caliber of its two composers, it could only be a terrific work.

The friendship between Francesco De Masi and Alessandro Alessandroni is even more dated than the artistic partnership that was later born between the most famous spaghetti western whistle and Morricone, and "Lesbo" is 'only' one of the various collaborations between these two composers. Introduced as usual by a sensual theme sung by a seducing female voice, this warm and Mediterranean-flavoured soundtrack has numerous variations with a romantic/symphonic, lounge, even jazz taste, with some typically 'Morriconian' moments of tension too.

An extremely varied work, therefore, of which in 1969 - the year the film was released in theaters - only eight tracks were published on the single side of an LP containing, in addition to the soundtrack of "Lesbo", also that of "L'amore questo sconosciuto" on side B. Recently reissued with the addition of numerous bonus tracks, it is here in its full version - 24 tracks! - on vinyl for the first time ever.

Quartet Records was proud to celebrate the tenth anniversary of J.A. Bayona’s horror cult-classic The Orphanage in 2017 with a newly recorded, complete edition of the score composed by Fernando Velázquez , The Orphanage was the first collaboration between director and composer, a partnership that has continued in such modern classics as The Impossible and A Monster Calls. Now this new recording is available in an exclusive, limited and numbered collectors’ vinyl release.

It may seem unusual that a barely ten-year-old score is being re-recorded, but giving The Orphanage a second chance to shine is an undertaking of which Quartet Records is especially proud. This tenth-anniversary edition includes every note Fernando Velázquez wrote for the film in its original conception to give fans a bold, new take on a modern classic. The original soundtrack album was negotiated and signed off before the recordings were made, and while Fernando wasn’t quite satisfied with the performance, the album had to be released nonetheless. It was a problematic recording, without much possibility of correcting mistakes (do not forget that The Orphanage was a low-budget film). When the possibility of expanding the original 47-minute-long program was being discussed in early 2017, a review of the original multi-track recordings revealed that time hasn’t been kind to Velázquez’s first major score, so a new plan was formulated. The composer took it upon himself to revisit the project by doing a brand-new recording with The Basque National Orchestra, the same ensemble he used for A Monster Calls, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Submergence and his “Concert Suites” album. By using one of his favorite orchestras and his usual recording engineer, Marc Blanes, whom he couldn’t use on his seminal score, Quartet Records and Fernando Velazquez present the same music he wrote a decade ago (including previously unrecorded alternates), using the know-how and skills he has gained in the past 10 years to bring fans a new recording of which we can all be proud.

This exclusive, 2-lp edition has been remastered for vinyl by Chris Malone, and includes newly commissioned artwork by PosterSpy & Karl Fitzgerald. The record comes in a deluxe gatefold package that includes statements from Fernando Velázquez and director J.A. Bayona. This is a collectable, must-have edition for all Velázquez, Bayona or horror movies fans!

The Dead Don't Die is writer/director Jim Jarmusch's unique, semi-comic take on the zombie apocalypse genre. As with his recent efforts Only Lovers Left Alive and Paterson, the film's score was composed and performed by SQÜRL, the band Jarmusch and producer Carter Logan founded in 2009. Sacred Bones Records, the same label that released the band's EP #260 in 2017, is releasing the LP edition of the score.The score to the The Dead Don't Die is a true expression of where SQÜRL stand at the center of a decade of sonic exploration. It is the culmination of their passion for analog synths, with guitar violence reverberating from the darker corners of Americana. It is at once a tribute to the classic sounds of horror and sci-fi, as well as a decapitation of traditional film scores. It is naturally supernatural.From their arsenal of tools, Jarmusch and Logan pulled electric guitars and basses made by Rick Kelly and Cindy Hulej at Carmine Street Guitars, an acoustic resonator, Moog Minitaur and Theremini synthesizers, Fender Rhodes electric piano, an old Ludwig drum kit, cheap vintage Casio and Yamaha keyboards and new synths from Critter and Guitari _ all sculpted through a collection of effects pedals, notably from Earthquaker Devices.The inspiration for SQÜRL's score for The Dead Don't Die came from some of the most iconic soundtracks of the past half-century of genre cinema _ Tangerine Dream's Sorcerer, Bebe and Louis Barron's Forbidden Planet, Ennio Morricone's The Thing and Once Upon a Time in the West, Goblin's Dawn of the Dead, and all things John Carpenter. The singular Theremin work of Samuel J. Hoffman on films like Spellbound and The Day the Earth Stood Still also made its way into Jarmusch and Logan's consciousness. The result is a new horror soundtrack that stands shoulder to shoulder with the great works of its genre.

As one of the most triumphant and beguiling directorial debut features to emerge from the fruitful Polish New Wave, Andrzej Żuławski’s 1971 film Third Part Of The Night not only earned the thirtyyear- old filmmaker a place next to other radical Polish directors such as Polanski, Skolimowski and Has, but also galvanised a creative bond with long running collaborator and composer Andrzej Korzyński, providing fans of foreign abstract/suspense cinema with a potent creative fusion to match those of Polanski/Komeda, Fellini/Rota, Argento/Goblin…

Featuring one of the heaviest psych rock movie theme tunes of all time, Andrzej Korzyński’s short and unreleased score matched the blueprint that adorned the drawing boards of conceptual French jazz orch rock composers like Jean-Claude Vannier, François de Roubaix and Alain Goraguer, creating a soundtrack that unknowingly begs comparison to Masahiko Satô’s Belladonna of Sadness and Billy Green’s Stone. As one of the first progressive pop writers to come out of the vibrant (but carefully scrutinised) Polish beat scene with his bands Ricecar 64 and later Arp Life (and composing for national heroes such as Czesław Niemen, Niebiesko-Czarni and Test) Korzyński’s growing passion for conceptual rock and jazz music soon led to instrumental composition and soundtrack scores. His cinematic debuts scoring two consecutive transitional new wave films for Andrzej Wajda (in collaboration with the radical Polski pop groups Trubadurzy and Grupa Abc) also provided Korzyński with another significant cinematic muse in that of the stunning actress Małgorzata Braunek, with whom they would both eventually achieve their finest performances under the direction of the ravenous first timer Żuławski. Third Part Of The Night (1971) perhaps epitomises that triangular on-screen unison in its vibrant youth and feeds it through a hallucinogenic mangle finding astonishing beauty (within a repulsive synopsis) against a bleak and shattered backdrop and accompanied by progressive, psychedelic orchestral rock music – elements which would intensify for all three creatives with the next film Diabeł, which was banned by the Polish government the following year until 1988. Third Part Of The Night also marks the public unison of Żuławski and Braunek whose later private romantic relationship is said to form the basis for another defining Żuławski/Korzyński endeavour with the 1981 film Possession exactly a decade later, encapsulating a period that bequeaths a previously unopened vault of some of the the composers finest and most inspired sonic adventures.

To a large extent the scoring in this area is conventional, perhaps a little impressionistic and hopefully reflects a curious but endearing world. This left me free to invent sounds for the stories within the dream world. I wanted to use a mixture of electronics and 'live' instruments, and after some experimenting, arrived at a line-up of three bass flutes, Pan Pipes, violins, one, two or three solo double basses, percussion and Synclavier II synthesizer" (George Fenton, 1984). Waxwork Records is proud to present Doctor Sleep Original Motion Picture Score Music by The Newton Brothers. Doctor Sleep is a 2019 supernatural horror film written and directed by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass). It is based on the 2013 Stephen King novel of the same name, and it serves as a sequel to Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 Horror film, THE Shining. Starring Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson as Rose The Hat, and Kyliegh Curran, the story follows a now adult Danny Torrance (McGregor) who possesses psychic abilities and is struggling with addiction. Still traumatized from his family’s horrific 1980 ordeal at the Overlook Hotel, Danny Torrance is guided by the ghost of Dick Hollorann to capture the ghosts of The Overlook in lockboxes. Meanwhile, a traveling cult of psychics called The True Knot led by Rose The Hat (Ferguson) extend their lifespans by consuming “steam”, a psychic essence released by torturing and killing those who have “the shining”.

The score by The Newton Brothers pays homage to the music heard in 1980’s THE Shining composed by Wendy Carlos (A Clockwork Orange, Tron) with tracks such as “Dies Irae / Violet” and “The Overlook”. Effectively capturing the feeling from parts of THE Shining, the score to Doctor Sleep also creates a new, unique world for the characters and story. To create the score of Doctor Sleep, The Newton Brothers used experimental recording methods and instrumentation to sculpt an original and terrifying new sonic landscape.

In addition to a large scale orchestra and choir, the composing duo used instruments such as a 90 ft. high Aeolian Wind Harp, The Hurdy Gurdy Grandé, chimes, various modular synthesizers, and a range of percussion. By usage of inventive and unorthodox instruments, The Newton Brothers effectively created a distinctive sound for Danny’s trauma, for the brutal and murderous traveling gypsies known as The True Knot, for Danny’s psychic connection to characters within the story, and for the Overlook Hotel itself.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to release the original score to Doctor Sleep by The Newton Brothers as a deluxe double LP featuring 180 gram “Psychic Essence Steam” colored vinyl (foggy clear with white smoke), high quality packaging with new artwork by Max Löffler, liner notes by the composers, a 12”x12” booklet with behind the scenes scoring photography, and old style gatefold jackets with matte satin coating.

As C418, composer and producer Daniel Rosenfeld designs sounds to resonate in both physical and pixelated realms. Augustus Muller and Jae Matthews’ fifth release entitled ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ is not a traditional album. Rather, it is the soundtrack to a short film, also entitled ‘The Runner’. The film, written, produced, and directed by the duo, is a searching horror film, attached to a meta-style “documentary” about Boy Harsher’s recording process. The album includes several distinct components: cinematic arrangements, vocal features, and of course classic Boy Harsher dark pop. Both the album and short film will be released in January 2022.

The album opens with “Tower”. The only track on ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ that Boy Harsher has previously played live, but never recorded. The song is an incantation, with its pulsing synth and Jae’s begging vocals. A spell about desire and impending destruction. Jae asks 'But are you honest? Do you trust? You trust in me?' Questions answered by her desperate yells. It starts both the film and the soundtrack with a heavy presence.

Two songs on ‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ feature vocalists other than Jae Matthews. He allows a distinct sound for both vocalists and really leans into the possibility of divergent genres. “Machina”, is a Hi-nrg homage, performed by Mariana Saldaña of Boan, and “Autonomy” a new wave tribute, performed by Cooper B. Handy of Lucy. Augustus Muller fully embraces the soundtrack ethos, by creating fictional ‘bands’ to generate additional content.

‘The Runner (Original Soundtrack)’ is exactly what’s in the name: a soundtrack. At first the shape of the release was nebulous - yet once realized the album is dynamic. It serves as the story of the running figure and her musical accompaniment. Those expecting a traditional release will be surprised, but not disappointed.
