Franco Micalizzi wrote one of his best OSTs for the Poliziesco genre with this one (the main theme is one of Micalizzi’s favorites and he often performs it live in concert with his orchestra BIG Bubbling Band). The OST opens with the strong main score written for woodwinds and percussion, which is then reprised with different arrangements throughout the film. It is also alternated with moments of suspense. The violent urban jungle atmosphere is broken by "Sambamba", a sunny pop piece with a Latin sound written for choir and orchestra. For this LP, the master tapes of the recording session were used.

Digitmovies releases Guido & Maurizio De Angelis’ “Torso” (aka “I corpi presentano tracce di violenza carnale”) OST on LP. THE Soundtrack In 1973 a 26 minutes-long stereo LP was prepared for RCS’s promo SP series, but it got cancelled and the 45 rpm didn’t see the light, neither. In 1999 BMG printed out a CD (ost 145) with the editing found in RCA’s archives and paired it with a selection from Bruno Nicolai’s “Gatti rossi in un labirinto di vetro” OST. Back in 2008, when we printed the full 33 tracks-long CD version, we mistakenly wrote “stereo” on the cover, but the music actually came from the mono session recorded for the movie. When Dagored printed a double LP (red219c), in 2015, they used our mono CD as source. This LP version (running time 37:20 minutes), carries nine stereo tracks on side A and the first two stereo tracks and the following six mono track on side B. Guido & Maurizio De Angelis composed an OST which was perfect for the scenes but which also has its own life outside of the movie, where a quite cheerful and pop main theme alternates with mysterious and suspended ones, at times with dark and frightening voices. An OST for a cult movie, loved by fans all over the world.

Out of print for over 35 years, the official soundtrack to the cult 1984 film by Neil Jordan is finally available once again on vinyl format. The surreal and effective film - a true gem of British Gothic fantasy horror - has an equally atmospheric, breathtakingly beautiful, surreal and unsettling soundtrack, scored by George Fenton. The film itself, directed by Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Breakfast On Pluto), and based on the screenplay by Angela Carter and Neil Jordan, is a modern allegorical adaptation of the classic Grimm fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, symbolising sexual awakening, duality and liberation. The stellar cast features Sarah Patterson, Angela Lansbury, Stephen Rea, David Warner, and Danielle Dax. "There is a sense of awe and enchanted wonder captured in its fairy tale sound, swooping with cascading violins and dark mysterious undercurrents that bubble below the surface... It is a dystopic science fiction movie that details what happens after the climate crisis really takes hold. The music is an esoteric mix of free jazz, drones and bleeped-out ambient that is alive with busy, fizzing frequencies. It's a dense, textural brew that collides synth and sax sounds into a new sort of tribute to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner score.

The Firestarter soundtrack utilizes some of the best elements of Carpenter's famous musical repertoire and charts exciting new territory. The tracks range from fist pumping sci-fi anthems to slow reverb drenched piano ballads and each utilizes a variety of sonic applications. Lewis (sphinx, THE Madwoman OF Chaillot, THE Naked Face, THE Medusa Touch) composed a delightful score, with a catchy, charming main theme that is opposed to the brutality of the story. Contrasting strains of old-fashioned lyricism and modern soundscapes frame a score of great stylistic diversity. Even though Theatre OF Blood was a success—and has become even more widely admired over the last halfcentury—no commercial album of the full soundtrack existed until 2010, when the score made its debut on CD by La-La Land Records. The program has now been freshly mastered specially for vinyl and re-sequenced for a better listening experience, as it would have been had it been released in 1973. This limited edition of 500 units, pressed on audiophile 180 GM blood-red-and-black splatter, has been produced, restored and mastered by Chris Malone from the original stereo master tapes.

The soundtrack to Last Day Of June is based on existing music originally recorded and issued either on Steven Wilson’s albums under his own name or as his project Bass Communion between 2004-2016. Scottish synth pop sensations Chvrches have a history of commissioning remixes for each of their chart topping albums. Given the cinematic concept of their latest Screen Violence they wanted to get a composer involved who worked in that universe. Singer and percussionist Lauren Mayberry said that the master of horror John Carpenter was the top of their wish list elaborating that "His films and music have been so impactful on us over the years, and without the stories he created I am not sure that the concept of Screen Violence (and female narratives within the album) would exist in the way they do." They decided to reach for the stars and contact Carpenter's team and to their delight Carpenter was excited by the idea. Lauren continues "As horror fans, we know that John Carpenter is the godfather and the gold standard and we're so excited to get to work with him in any capacity... we never really thought he'd reply, let alone that he'd send back something better than the original." Carpenter's remix of the Chvrches song "Good Girls," created alongside his creative partners Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, enhances the depths of the song's already infectious synthesizer melodies and adds his signature slightly sinister swagger and groove.

Original film soundtrack For the first time ever, here is the soundtrack from the 1983 post-apocalyptic flick directed by Joe D’Amato, Endgame - Bronx Lotta Finale. A compelling Carlo Maria Cordio’s mighty Vangelis-meets-John Carpenter score. With hangovers from previous Giallo-based outings, Endgame’s themes are more gentle and introspective than, say, Claudio Simonetti’s muscular work for The New Barbarians and Hands of Steel but also, arguably, musically more diverse. In particular, the opening title track ‘Atomic Contamination” is genuinely chilling when set against the stock footage of a nuclear bomb going off. While liberally pinching the vibe of Blade Runner’s more symphonic textures, Cordio’s synthesizers also do bombast, melancholy and menace when required, whilst the pretty pieces for Lilith are like semi precious jewels shining out of the murk and machismo.

Transversales Disques presents for the first time on LP, François de Roubaix’s full score for the French TV series Les Secrets de la Mer Rouge, an adaptation of the epic travel, through the Middle East, of the famous writer and explorer Henri de Monfreid. This album is a collection of the original (1967) themes and those recorded later in 1975 when the TV series was continued. In the 1967 soundtrack, de Roubaix uses various flutes, marine conches, and for underwater views, unexpected instruments such as a celesta or a crystal xylophone. By 1975, electronic technology had dramatically developed and this evolution is clearly apparent when one listens to the recordings of the two seasons. For the later 1975 series, de Roubaix composed a new music score, mixing old and new sounds, a great combination of EMS Vcs3 synthesizer subtly mixed with acoustic instruments. For François de Roubaix, there was never a border between fiction, life and music, and writing music for Les secrets de la Mer Rouge was an extension of his love of the open sea.

Unfortunately it was not possible to cancel some magnetic flaws. We brought to life an OST that contains all the popular and well respected music elements of Maestro Nicolai: dissonant strings segments, experimental effects of an evocative classical main theme, ambiguous and mysterious, accompanied by pop rithms. Direction AND Cast Directed by Peter Collinson in 1974 and starring: Oliver Reed, Elke Sommer, Richard Attenborough, Gert Fröbe, Herbert Lom, Charles Aznavour, Maria Rohm, Adolfo Celi, Stéphane Audran, Alberto de Mendoza, Orson Welles (just voice). Plot A stranger that calls himself U.N. Owen invites ten people to stay at an isolated house in the Iran desert, drawning them with weird excuses. The nearest town is twohundred miles away and there are no phone in the house. Once arrived, they don’t meet the house owner but they hear his voice recorded while he accuses them of several homicides still unpunished, for which they would pay with their lives. From this moment on, they will start to get killed one by one. Only two of them will save themselves: Vera Clyde and Hugh Lombard, who didn’t commit the crime Owen accused them of, since they were mistakenly called to the house.

Robby Poitevin (24-10-1926 / 3-10-2003) represents the Italian Film Music school, very close, for its lounge sounds, to that of his American colleagues, such as Lalo Schifrin, Henry Mancini, Quincy Jones and Hugo Montenegro. Other than being an extremely valid arranger and orchestra leader, Maestro Poitevin composed jazz, blues and swing themes, like those for “The hired killer”, which is part of the police and spy current. For this genre, the composer also created other remarkable soundtracks, like “Assassination”, “L’uomo del colpo perfetto”, “Quella carogna dell’ispettore Sterling”, “A.D.3 Operazione squalo bianco”. In 1966 RCA published an LP for the promo series SP (SP 8017), which had nine selections for a total running time of 19:06 minutes. In 2009 GDM Music printed out this OST, for the very first time on CD (gdm 4018), with three extra tracks, pairing it with “Quella carogna dell’ispettore Sterling”. We are reprinting the nine tracks of the original promo LP and, along with the three bonus tracks of the previous GDM’s CD, we are adding four more unpublished tracks, discovered in the original recording session’s mono masters, which bring the total running time of the LP up to 37:04 minutes. Robby Poitevin composed an elegant music, inspired by jazz, blues and American swing, creating calm and mysterious athmospheres as well as pure action ones. Among hired assassins, bullets and homicides there is also a love theme, arranged in different versions such as Bossa and sung by female voice.

Under his stage name C418, Rosenfeld created the sweeping soundtrack and vibrant sound design that brought the voxel-based universe of "Minecraft" to life. Fans and critics alike were blown away by his beatless, balanced electro pieces across the board. Popular gaming site Kotaku listed the soundtrack among its "Best Game Music" of 2011, calling the music "impressively soothing," while The Guardian compared Rosenfeld's fragile pieces of piano and minimalist ambient to legendary artists Erik Satie and Brian ENO. One of the most notorious hatemongers in movie history is Captain Ahab from John Huston’s 1956 classic Moby Dick. His manic monologues cast a spell on generations of viewers. Berlin based musician and sound artist Jan Jelinek has now turned the voice of Ahab into a musical instrument. Faitiche presents Jan Jelinek's soundtrack for Seascape – polyptych, an audio-visual software developed in collaboration with Canadian new media artist Clive Holden in 2022. Seascape – polyptych is based on image and acoustic source material from Moby Dick. While Holden works on manipulating film sequences, the voice of Ahab plays a central role in Jan Jelinek’s soundtrack. The dynamic volume and tone of the captain's speech control a synthesizer system that turns Ahabs voice into ten abstract soundscapes. In this production the voice gives the impulse and controls things but is not the sound of spoken word itself that we hear. Only occasionally can snippets of speech be heard so that syllables or sounds are recognisable. Instead we hear compositions made of hissing, soundscapes and eruptive sounds. The atmosphere is dark and sinister. Still every piece has a clear sonic structure and follows an understandable dramatic composition. This music is abstract but not overwhelming. Quite the opposite, Seascape – polyptych is an invitation to listeners to let themselves be carried by the stream of sonic events. Although part of a media art work, the soundtrack can be enjoyed without any of this connecting superstructure. It works with no previous knowledge. But what happens when one does know that it’s the sonic waves of a human voice that is controlling a network of synthesizers? If you want to hear Ahab, you will hear a choir of Ahabs in every piece of sound. The subliminal threatening as well as the conjuring Ahab. Finally the Ahab who whips up his crew and tears them with him into their downfall. The majestic „on the quay now, waiting and watching“, the oppressive “drawn towards the whirlpools center” - they are all music as well as sonic discourse.

We are thrilled to be releasing the score to A Quiet Place in conjunction with our friends over at Milan Records. The film has been one of the breakout hits of 2018. This is only the second directorial feature for John Krasinski and is an absolutely incredibly tense monster movie, that is as original as it is scary.

The score by Marco Beltrami is an absolute tour de force, it's basically another character in the film, it can be forceful and bludgeoning one minute and quiet and reflective the next. His players twist their instruments to generate tones and textures not usually associated with them, the layers of sound and percussion on display are incredible, the opening track 'It Hears You' reminds me of a classic Planet Of The Apes cue it's disquieting and slightly wonky but has an incredible hook that immediately lets you know you are in horror territory whereas say 'A Quiet Family' is a beautiful piano track that reminds you of the life the family lived before a world of monsters took over. Pianos are detuned, Electronics are layered over traditional instruments to create something truly unsettling

First time on vinyl for this utterly top level score composed by Luciano Michelini for the slasher/crime flick directed by Sergio Margino, "The Suspicious Death of a Minor" (Morte sospetta di una minorenne), and recorded in 1975 at Ortophonic Studio in Rome. The main theme echoes certain passages from Goblin’s “Deep Red” - recognizable by the use of the same church organ played a few months earlier by Claudio Simonetti’s hands for Dario Argento’s masterpiece, whilst the entire soundtrack sounds somehow “Goblinesque”, thanks to the prog-rock & funk action themes used for chases, murders, and suspense scenes. Remastered from the original reels preserved in the C.A.M. archives, this vinyl edition features new LP editing, and is housed in a hard tip-on sleeve with a stunning artwork designed by Luke Insect.
