Galcher Lustwerk has put together a collection of 10 ambient cuts here that he wrote to score a film by Josh Kline, a fine artist whose solo exhibition "Project for a New American Century" recently opened at the Whitey Museum of American Art in New York. It is a dystopic science fiction movie that details what happens after the climate crisis really takes hold. The music is an esoteric mix of free jazz, drones and bleeped-out ambient that is alive with busy, fizzing frequencies. It's a dense, textural brew that collides synth and sax sounds into a new sort of tribute to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner score.

Directed by Douglas Hickox and starring Vincent Price and Diana Rigg, with guest victims Ian Hendry, Harry Andrews, Robert Morley, Michael Hordern and Jack Hawkins, among others, the film is a macabre British black comedy about a Shakespearean actor who is systematically humiliated by critics who consider him hammy and old-fashioned. The actor becomes a serial killer and murders every critic by emulating the sadistic crimes in Shakespeare’s plays. Michael J. Lewis (sphinx, THE Madwoman OF Chaillot, THE Naked Face, THE Medusa Touch) composed a delightful score, with a catchy, charming main theme that is opposed to the brutality of the story. Contrasting strains of old-fashioned lyricism and modern soundscapes frame a score of great stylistic diversity. Even though Theatre OF Blood was a success—and has become even more widely admired over the last halfcentury—no commercial album of the full soundtrack existed until 2010, when the score made its debut on CD by La-La Land Records. The program has now been freshly mastered specially for vinyl and re-sequenced for a better listening experience, as it would have been had it been released in 1973. This limited edition of 500 units, pressed on audiophile 180 GM blood-red-and-black splatter, has been produced, restored and mastered by Chris Malone from the original stereo master tapes.

WRWTFWW Records is happy to announce the first-ever physical release of Louisiana-based composer and producer Jammin’ Sam Miller’s full HD re-creation/restoration of the beloved Super Metroid video game soundtrack. The limited biovinyl double LP is packed with 27 tracks and features an exclusive artwork by French illustrator Pierre Thyss, as well as an obi strip.

Composed by Kenji Yamamoto and Minako Hamano, the soundtrack for 1994 SNES exploration / action-adventure / sci-fi / alien video game Super Metroid has always been a fan-favorite. A true masterclass in music storytelling, it beautifully evokes the epic and eerie adventure of the game’s protagonist Samus Aran with superb use of atmospheric sounds, space-operatic arrangements, rumbling bass, oppressive techno-futurist moods, tribal drums, and airy synth themes, admirably balancing the ominous feel of a dark menace and contemplative, even soothing, ambient soundscapes.

Jammin' Sam Miller assiduously recreated the soundtrack note by note, by finding the original equipment used to create it, translating the MIDI into a modern studio context, adding in keyboard samples, and re-mixing and re-mastering the whole score. He explains: "This was made possible by locating the original instrument samples from workstation keyboards and drum machines before they were put into the game and rebuilding the soundtrack from the ground up, applying some modern mixing techniques along the way to lift the veil of 16bit compression and create an updated listening experience."

Super Metroid is pressed on biovinyl, a sustainable alternative to traditional vinyl. Biovinyl replaces petroleum in S-PVC by recycling used cooking oil or industrial waste gases, resulting in 100% CO2 savings in bio-based S-PVC production. Furthermore, it is 100% recyclable and reusable, embracing the circular economy ideology.

Moving Music are proud to present next instalment in vintage Norwegian Soundtrack music. The youth movie “Operasjon Cobra” from
1978 is about a group of local terrorists trying to assassinate the US foreign minister on his visit Norway. The plans go wrong however as the plot is sabotaged by a group of youngsters living in Snarøya on the outskirts of Oslo.
The variety of Pete Knutsen’s music is funky jazz with the occasional dramatic mood and hint of disco, to coincide with the popular music of the times. Soundtrack feature and all-star cast of top Norwegian session players from the late seventies: Knut Riisnæs, Henry Lysiak, Thor Andreassen and Terje Methi. Played with strong array of musicianship and impressive use of instrumentation: moog, percussion, strings, breakbeats makes it a joyful listen throughout.
Soundtrack has never been released before and has undergone a new multitrack remaster by Timmion Records Finland.

After a decade of creating pioneering puppet series made for children, Gerry & Sylvia Anderson took their first steps into live-action, with the 1969 feature film Doppelgänger (re-titled outside Britain as Journey To The Far Side Of The Sun). This science-fiction film approached its outer space subject matter with a gritty realism, and would set the tone for what was to be their first live-action television series: UFO. This new series took as a starting point the pioneering work of Dr Christiaan N. Barnard, the surgeon who performed the world’s first heart transplant operation. In UFO a dying race of aliens travel across vast distances of space to harvest organs from human beings to help ensure their own survival. To combat this threat the United Nations created SHADO, a top-secret organisation utilising the latest technology available to defend the Earth. To complement the series, the Andersons frequent musical collaborator Barry Gray created a multifaceted score that gave the programme its own musical identity. Elegantly crafted and a firm favourite with Barry Gray fans, the sound of UFO, particularly its ethereal “World Music” closing credits is, quite simply, a joy. Includes a bonus track, Trampoline performed by The Spencer Davis Group from the episode Ordeal.

Last year, we got together with The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision’s RE:VIVE initiative for the second time, inviting four local artists to breathe new life into four archival films from the Sound and Vision and EYE Filmmuseum archives. Jordan GCZ, Suzanne Kraft, Parrish Smith and Upsammy were all assigned short animated films dating back to 1921. The films and their new scores debuted at EYE on August 2nd as part of Dekmantel Festival 2018. Unsurprisingly, each artist imparted their unique styles onto the films that they previously had no relation with. From Suzanne Kraft's sparse atmospherics that have become more apparent in his new SK U KNO project to Jordan GCZ’s free flowing hardware jams. Parrish Smith showed his contemplative side and sparse orchestrations that he demonstrated on his RE:VIVE release, Genesis Black, a sonic departure from his bombastic releases and DJ-sets while upsammy showed yet again her deft hand for melody and texture, a style that dominates all her releases to date.
These four scores can live apart from their films, fitting seamlessly into each artists' growing catalogs of work. But when combined, it’s as if the films and music were made simultaneously with the artist and filmmaker together in the same room. Dekmantel and RE:VIVE are proud to present these new works as the electronic music scene in The Netherlands continues to show its multifaceted talent that continues to expand far beyond the dance floor.

Plot A stranger that calls himself U.N. Owen invites ten people to stay at an isolated house in the Iran desert, drawning them with weird excuses. The nearest town is twohundred miles away and there are no phone in the house. Once arrived, they don’t meet the house owner but they hear his voice recorded while he accuses them of several homicides still unpunished, for which they would pay with their lives. From this moment on, they will start to get killed one by one. Only two of them will save themselves: Vera Clyde and Hugh Lombard, who didn’t commit the crime Owen accused them of, since they were mistakenly called to the house.

All of which has been cautiously laid in preparation to the grand finale. The iconic and instantly recognizable "Laurie's Theme" from the original Halloween. Robby Poitevin (24-10-1926 / 3-10-2003) represents the Italian Film Music school, very close, for its lounge sounds, to that of his American colleagues, such as Lalo Schifrin, Henry Mancini, Quincy Jones and Hugo Montenegro. Other than being an extremely valid arranger and orchestra leader, Maestro Poitevin composed jazz, blues and swing themes, like those for “The hired killer”, which is part of the police and spy current. For this genre, the composer also created other remarkable soundtracks, like “Assassination”, “L’uomo del colpo perfetto”, “Quella carogna dell’ispettore Sterling”, “A.D.3 Operazione squalo bianco”. In 1966 RCA published an LP for the promo series SP (SP 8017), which had nine selections for a total running time of 19:06 minutes. In 2009 GDM Music printed out this OST, for the very first time on CD (gdm 4018), with three extra tracks, pairing it with “Quella carogna dell’ispettore Sterling”. We are reprinting the nine tracks of the original promo LP and, along with the three bonus tracks of the previous GDM’s CD, we are adding four more unpublished tracks, discovered in the original recording session’s mono masters, which bring the total running time of the LP up to 37:04 minutes. Robby Poitevin composed an elegant music, inspired by jazz, blues and American swing, creating calm and mysterious athmospheres as well as pure action ones. Among hired assassins, bullets and homicides there is also a love theme, arranged in different versions such as Bossa and sung by female voice.

Herdís interned for the Oscar nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannssonin Berlin while he was working on the film Arrival (2016) and she has scored numerous short films that have premiered at top-tier festivals around the world like Berlinale, Tiff, Sundance and Palm Springs International Film Festival. Herdís releases and produces her solo work under artist name Kongulo, she is currently working on her first record. Previous art projects include electro-pop duo East of My Youth. East of My Youth’s music has been described as sensual and addictive as getting your tongue frozen to a glacier of pure honey (jajajamusic). Popular gaming site Kotaku listed the soundtrack among its "Best Game Music" of 2011, calling the music "impressively soothing," while The Guardian compared Rosenfeld's fragile pieces of piano and minimalist ambient to legendary artists Erik Satie and Brian ENO. In an interview, Polygon distilled "Volume Alpha" down to its essence: "The soundtrack is not tied to the retro aesthetic of Minecraft graphics. The soundtrack overrides them. The album is an attempt to translate the combined game/music experience into something heavenly."

One of the most notorious hatemongers in movie history is Captain Ahab from John Huston’s 1956 classic Moby Dick. His manic monologues cast a spell on generations of viewers. Berlin based musician and sound artist Jan Jelinek has now turned the voice of Ahab into a musical instrument. Faitiche presents Jan Jelinek's soundtrack for Seascape – polyptych, an audio-visual software developed in collaboration with Canadian new media artist Clive Holden in 2022. Seascape – polyptych is based on image and acoustic source material from Moby Dick. While Holden works on manipulating film sequences, the voice of Ahab plays a central role in Jan Jelinek’s soundtrack. The dynamic volume and tone of the captain's speech control a synthesizer system that turns Ahabs voice into ten abstract soundscapes. In this production the voice gives the impulse and controls things but is not the sound of spoken word itself that we hear. Only occasionally can snippets of speech be heard so that syllables or sounds are recognisable. Instead we hear compositions made of hissing, soundscapes and eruptive sounds. The atmosphere is dark and sinister. Still every piece has a clear sonic structure and follows an understandable dramatic composition. This music is abstract but not overwhelming. Quite the opposite, Seascape – polyptych is an invitation to listeners to let themselves be carried by the stream of sonic events. Although part of a media art work, the soundtrack can be enjoyed without any of this connecting superstructure. It works with no previous knowledge. But what happens when one does know that it’s the sonic waves of a human voice that is controlling a network of synthesizers? If you want to hear Ahab, you will hear a choir of Ahabs in every piece of sound. The subliminal threatening as well as the conjuring Ahab. Finally the Ahab who whips up his crew and tears them with him into their downfall. The majestic „on the quay now, waiting and watching“, the oppressive “drawn towards the whirlpools center” - they are all music as well as sonic discourse.

We are thrilled to be releasing the score to A Quiet Place in conjunction with our friends over at Milan Records. The film has been one of the breakout hits of 2018. This is only the second directorial feature for John Krasinski and is an absolutely incredibly tense monster movie, that is as original as it is scary.

The score by Marco Beltrami is an absolute tour de force, it's basically another character in the film, it can be forceful and bludgeoning one minute and quiet and reflective the next. His players twist their instruments to generate tones and textures not usually associated with them, the layers of sound and percussion on display are incredible, the opening track 'It Hears You' reminds me of a classic Planet Of The Apes cue it's disquieting and slightly wonky but has an incredible hook that immediately lets you know you are in horror territory whereas say 'A Quiet Family' is a beautiful piano track that reminds you of the life the family lived before a world of monsters took over. Pianos are detuned, Electronics are layered over traditional instruments to create something truly unsettling

Fire Walk With Me is an altogether more brooding affair than the Twin Peaks series soundtrack. Badalamenti won a grammy for the title track of this LP and it's not hard to see why- it's dangerous, and bursting with smokey jazz thanks to Jimmy Scott. We went back to the master tapes in the Warner Archives and had this recut to fit across two LPs as the score clocks in at 51 minutes. It sounds incredible and punchy, but super nuanced too.

From the brooding opening bars of the main Fire Walk With Me Theme, Angelo Badalamenti's gorgeous, eerie score introduces us to a cinematic experience which significantly begins with the smashing of a television screen. Just as the Main Title from Blue Velvet echoed the Hitchcockian hues of Bernard Herrmann, so here we have just the slightest touch of Taxi Driver, as Jim Hynes' plaintive, keening trumpet soars above a landscape of melancholy keyboards, drawing us into a world which is at once alien and familiar.

This release is housed in a 425-gsm gatefold sleeve inside a bespoke black die cut outer jacket with black spot varnish finish, complete with obi strip and sleeve notes by film critic Mark Kermode (approved by David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti The artwork got fully approved by the director as the audio got approved by the composer
The 180-gram „Cherry Pie“ vinyl 2LP got remastered by Tal Miller at Warner Archives, while laquers were cut by David Cheppa at Plush Vinyl.
