Since the dawn of the trombone (Early 15th century or so according to a quick Google search), trombonists all over the world have been compelled to create a wide assortment of brass-powered notes, both sweet and sour.

Developer Holy Wow made it their divine mission to document this phenomenon through the medium of interactive electronic entertainment. Trombone Champ is a celebration of the beauty and power of music — not just well-crafted, technically proficient music, but passionate, messy, and goofy melodies, too. Music is about self expression, and self expression simply isn’t always tidy and neat.

This LP is iam8bit’s humble attempt to capture that wonderfully weird energy on wax. The Trombone Champ Vinyl Soundtrack is a 1xLP packed full of sweet, sweet brass-powered tunes, selected and performed (excellently, by the way — no flubbed notes here) by the Holy Wow team themselves. We’ve pressed it on perfectly imperfect Off-Key Orange and Blaring Blue vinyl.

To bring the whole thing together, we tapped artist extraordinaire Iri Chen to craft a visual smorgasbord that tells an epic story of the power of music — no matter how unprofessionally it’s played.

Ba Da Bing is releasing the soundtrack to 2022’s paeon to cuisine prep, Flux Gourmet. A vibrant, four-coursed, 23-track double album, Flux Gourmet includes contributions by Heather Trost, Jeremy Barnes, Marta Salogni, Cavern of Anti-Matter, and Roj (Broadcast), as well as Strickland’s own compositions as part of The Sonic Catering Band. British Director and sonic pioneer, Peter Strickland, known for The Duke of Burgundy (2014), Berberian Sound Studio (2012) and Björk: Biophilia Live (2014), has always pushed visuals and narrative to absurd heights. In Flux Gourmet, performance artists taking part in a residency dedicated to sonic catering combining cooking, sound and theater. Food is amplified, microphones are jammed against blenders, and the sizzling sound of the frier turns becomes an ominous rattle. The film’s soundtrack is equally as process oriented, experimental, and kaleidoscopic as its protagonists’ practice. Contributors are Cavern of Anti-Matter, Jeremy Barnes, Heather Trost, Roj (formerly of Broadcast), Tim Harrison, Dan Hayhurst and Nurse With Wound.

Final chapter of Jurassic saga
DESCRIPTION

Mondo, in conjunction with Back Lot Music, are proud to present the final chapter of the Jurassic saga: Michael Giacchino’s score to JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION.

Giacchino started his early career at Disney Interactive Division where he had the opportunity to write music for video games. After moving to DreamWorks Interactive, he was asked to score the temp track for the video game adaptation of The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Subsequently, franchise creator Steven Spielberg hired him as the game’s composer and it became the first PlayStation game to have a live orchestral score, recorded with members of the Seattle Symphony. Now, 25 years later, Giacchino comes full circle with this soundtrack to the epic conclusion of the Jurassic era, recorded with 87 orchestra members and 30 choir members at Abbey Road Studios in London. Fans can expect Giacchino’s usual tongue-in-cheek track titles that highlight the action of the score cues.

Mondo has released all Jurassic World franchise series albums on vinyl to date, so complete the trilogy with the Jurassic World Dominion release. Custom artwork was designed by artist Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative. The package will include liner notes from Jurassic World architect and director of Dominion, Colin Trevorrow, and pressed onto 180-gram webstore exclusive color vinyl.

The premise for Five Nights at Freddy’s is inspired by and tinged with familiar nostalgia from our collective childhoods — pizza parties at the family amusement center in Anytown, USA, presided over by archaic animatronic creatures who fancy themselves a rock band.

We always knew there was a darkness there, amongst the dusty game cabinets and wobbly tables — something lurking, something… off kilter. It’s a plot that jettisoned Freddy Fazbear and pals into the retrosphere of megastardom — a franchise of countless games, books, and merch drenched in depths of lore, with the feature film from director Emma Tammi (and our pals at Blumhouse and Universal) as the culmination of it all.

However, an effective horror experience is nothing without its accompanying sound, and The Newton Brothers certainly showed up for this score. From the opening title track, they hypnotize us with the haunting vocals of a children’s choir, cut with the melodies of nursery rhyme horrorshow. It’s a chilling hors d'oeuvre, leading into a pulsing, synthy moody main course that is both a 90s throwback and freshly sinister. How could we expect any less from the boys behind the maniacal music of Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep?

Like all iam8bit releases, the unboxing is part of the fun, too, with four collectible character jackets featuring everyone’s favorite funtime gang — Freddy, Chica, Foxy and Bonnie — adorned with glow-in-the-dark eyes, ensuring even while listening in total darkness, you’ll have company. Minted on delicious Pizza Party Red vinyl, it’s an absolute feast for fans.

It’s a killer soundtrack, but be careful. You never know what other surprises could be waiting inside…

Vermintide 2 is a critically lauded first-person co-op action game that sees players smash, bash, and slice their way through the Chaos army and Skaven rat-men. Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed, Borderlands, Hitman) amassed a broad palette of violent percussive sounds in creating his propulsive score. Waxwork Records is proud to present the Us Original Motion Picture Soundtrack featuring a score by composer Michael Abels. Us, released in March 2019, is an original nightmare written, directed and produced by Academy Award®-winning visionary Jordan Peele (Get Out). Set in present-day Santa Cruz on the iconic Northern California coastline, the film, starring Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o and Black Panther’s Winston Duke, pits an ordinary American family against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves.

Abels featured a 30 person choir, a third of them children, in the “Anthem,” and implemented Eastern European instruments, violins, percussion, and a virtual instrument called a Propanium drum. “It makes this trashy metal sound, but you can also play melodies on it,” Abels said. “The Propanium drum has a sound that’s both otherworldly but not electronic or like science fiction. It’s a sound you can’t quite put your finger on, which is why it works well in this film.”

Also included on the soundtrack is the 1995 hip-hop hit “I Got 5 On It” by Luniz and the stand-out track “I Like That” by Janelle Monáe. Abels also helped with a new arrangement of the Luniz hit, which is featured on the soundtrack as the ‘Tethered Mix from Us’.

Waxwork is thrilled to present the soundtrack and score as a deluxe double LP featuring 180 gram "The Untethering" Red, Brass, and White split colored vinyl. The album artwork was created by illustrator Edward Kinsella. The interactive packaging includes die-cut inner gatefold jackets that require customers to use scissors to cut through family-member portraits to reveal their tethered doppelgängers lurking in the shadows on the printed inner sleeves housed within. More deluxe items include a die-cut mirror board back cover, a heavyweight 11”x11” art print, and an exclusive essay by UCLA Professor, scholar, and activist Shana L. This is the soundtrack to Get Carter (1971), the all-time classic British gangster flick starring Michael Caine and directed by Mike Hodges. It became the bridge by which jazz musician Roy Budd successfully expanded his horizons to film music, with a score brimming with moments of his genius. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the film's opening, we drew on the original Japanese (1971) and British (1998) OST releases to put together an expanded edition of the OST - including a bonus disc featuring various different outtakes and bits of dialogue. This is the 3rd installment in Beatball's series of Roy Budd Classic Soundtrack Scores, packed with a jazzy (and groovy) score done in Budd's signature style, as well as key lines of dialogue for you to relive the scenes from the film!

Impressively orchestrated and lyrically playful, music was a part of Animaniacs’ core identity from the show’s very beginning. Original songs were built into the show’s DNA and set the series’ signature tone — sometimes educational, oftentimes irreverent, and always, always gut-bustingly hilarious.

Surprisingly, this classic music has never before been collected on vinyl. We at iam8bit are teaming up with our friends at WaterTower Music to correct that.

Meme-spawning classics like “Yakko’s World” and silly send-ups like “I Am the Very Model of A Cartoon Individual” are all represented here, performed by The Animaniacs themselves and presented in their full glory on classic black vinyl.

But what would Animaniacs be without golden-age-inspired cel-tacular cartoon art? We tapped an absolutely prolific cabal of iconic Animaniacs alumni, new and old: Original character artist Dan Haskett, who has touched classics like Scooby-Doo!, and Looney Tunes, storyboard artist Tony Craig, whose expansive credits include Ben 10 and House of Mouse, and Roman Laney, who helped build El Tigre, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, and so much more. These are giants of American animation, and we are humbled to help bring their creations to you. To ensure absolute historic perfection, the whole project was also creatively directed by cartoony expert Gabe Swarr, executive producer of the Animaniacs show revival.

Based on David Nicholls’ globally best-selling book, the TV serialisation of One Day has already proved hugely popular with audiences and critics alike. Multi award-winning screenwriter Nicole Taylor (Wild Rose, 3 Girls, The Nest) adapted the novel for Drama Republic and Netflix. Based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, the first series of Good Omens was released in 2019 and became a worldwide hit. Good Omens 2 explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the ineffable friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley (David Tennant).

Multi-faceted composer David Arnold returns having received two Primetime Emmy nominations for the first series. His many awards include a Grammy (Independence Day) and a Primetime Emmy (Sherlock). Taking over the mantle from John Barry as the Bond composer he scored five in total ranging from Tomorrow Never Dies through to Quantum of Solace. First appearing on TV screens in September 1968, Joe 90 was a unique nine year old boy with the ability to absorb the brain patterns of top experts enabling him to become the most special agent of W.I.N. (World Intelligence Network). Whilst there are arguably better-known scores amongst Barry Gray's sublime catalogue of work with the Andersons, the composer's work for Joe 90 is in many ways the most consistent and inventive selection he ever wrote. Developing a theme for the new series was always the musician's starting point, and for Joe 90, the pop charts breezed into Gray's studio, with an opening tune featuring a genuine groove. Mixing Gray's inventive electronics with 60s "surf rock" guitars was an inspired decision. It is no wonder that this piece has gone on to enjoy a second life as a Northern Soul disco floor-filler. For episodic incidentals, Gray was freed from the detached unearthly premise of Captain Scarlet and able to bring back a playful sensibility and a more mature musical palette which are amply illustrated in this 24 track collection.

This is a record of rare beauty that collects the soundtrack of a 1975 film called "Drugged Rome: the Police Can't Intervene" (in English "Hallucination Strip") directed by Lucio Marcaccini. The soundtrack was written by Alber Verrecchia, a French composer (but I presume originally from Italy) who came to Italy in the 1960s and formed the group I Pyranas, with whom he recorded two albums released by Arc. In the 1970s Verrecchia devoted himself mainly to making soundtracks, including the one presented here. Unlike other soundtrack composers, Verrecchia preferred electric sounds to orchestral arrangements. This disc contains interesting tracks in rock and blues styles, with some psychedelic influences. Musicians featured on the record include Cyan, Baba Yaga, Toni Esposito, and singer Sammy Barbot (whom we may remember best as the host of two 1980s TV shows, Piccolo Slam and Popcorn). The Cyans are an old acquaintance of ours, who are credited with a 33 rpm in 1972 and a handful of singles; Le Baba Yaga were a female trio who made a single in 1972; and finally Toni Esposito who needs no introduction. Singer Edda Dell'Orso, with her soprano voice, also appears on two tracks. In short, a unique record in the panorama of soundtracks

Quartet Records and Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection proudly present the world premiere vinyl release of both the used and unused scores for Alfred Hitchcock’s Frenzy, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the film.

Frenzy marked the director’s triumphant return to London in 1972. With an excellent script by Anthony Shaffer, the film was immediately considered one of Hitchcok’s best and has since become a classic.

After the parting of ways with Bernard Herrmann, Hitchcock changed composers in each of his last four films, choosing from those who were popular at the time. For Frenzy, his first choice was Henry Mancini (breakfast AT Tiffany’s, THE Pink Panther, Hatari!, Charade), who wrote a sumptuous, gothic-hued score featuring an unusual orchestral palette. The main theme uses the dolorous tones and sepulchral pedals of a mighty organ, and the tension-filled score that follows is grim and at times almost brutal. Hitchcock, feeling it was too “dark and cruel,” turned it down and hired celebrated British composer Ron Goodwin (murder, SHE Said, Battle OF Britain, Where Eagles Dare, Squadron 633) to compose a lighter, yet still suspenseful, score. For the main title, a panoramic shot over the Thames, Goodwin wrote a majestic melody ornamented with trumpets and timpani, in the best English tradition of pomp and circumstance.

Frenzy was the only completely rejected score in Henry Mancini’s long career, and also one of the most famous and requested Goodwin scores over the ensuing decades. Neither of them, however, have previously been officially released in any form until today.

This 2-lp collection has been painstakingly produced, restored and mastered by Mike Matessino from stereo and mono elements vaulted at Universal Pictures, with the collaboration of both the Ron Goodwin and Henry Mancini estates.

This special edition features an exclusive, in-depth essay by writer and composer Deniz Cordell packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold and pressed in audiophile 180 GM black vinyl.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 was composed by John Powell, who has created the archetype for modern animation scoring. This soundtrack has never had a standard vinyl release, much less this deluxe edition which will be presented across two LP’s in a gatefold jacket and pressed on red mult-color splatter vinyl, in keeping with the theme of the green multi-color splatter on the How To Train Your Dragon 1 LP release, which was also produced exclusively for RSD in 2021. As with the first soundtrack, the theme song of the second film is done by Jonsi from the Icelandic band, Sigur Ros, and is unavailable anywhere else.
