In close partnership with the film's composers Martin Cooper and David Hughes, we located the original 1984 master tapes, restored them, and mixed and mastered the complete film music to create the definitive and official C.H.U.D. soundtrack album release.

Released in 1984, C.H.U.D. has gained a devoted cult following amongst B-Movie Horror fans. The film is widely referenced in pop culture via The Simpsons, Archer, and most recently, Jordan Peele's Us. C.H.U.D. has also served as a launching pad for several actors such as John Goodman (Roseanne, The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona), Daniel Stern (Home Alone), and John Heard (Home Alone).

The primitive electronic score composed and performed by Martin Cooper and David Hughes captures the seedy, grim landscape that embodied early 1980s NYC via synth drones, sound design, loops, and arpeggiated notes.

Released in 1988 for the little-known NEC Pc-8801 gaming console, Last Armageddon is a Final Fantasy-esque post-apocalyptic game set on a world in which demons and mutants fight alien robots for dominion over the wasteland that Earth has become. The game was moderately popular in its native Japan, spawning a sequel in 1994, but never made it to the global market.

The soundtrack composed by the great Koji Hayama (who would later make his name with soundtracks for the Cho Aniki series, as well as his work on Nintendo’s Smash Brothers), is one of the finest examples of video game music from the 80’s. Particular praise should be awarded to the immediately recognizable “Battle Theme”, which has gathered millions of views on YouTube. One listen, and it’s clear why - the song combines invigorating electronic beats with earworm melodies, and with just a touch of nostalgia added in, it’s perfect for almost any situation. That’s not to say that the rest of the album is lacking in any way, with songs that range from spooky ambient (“Nighttime Movement Theme 2”) to full-on industrial dance numbers (“Spaceship Control Room”), spread across 13 tracks. Originally released on CD and cassette, P-vine is proud to be giving Last Armageddon’s soundtrack its long-deserved release on vinyl! With an obi-strip and modern remastering, this is the best this album has ever looked or sounded!

Waxwork Records is excited to release Curtains Original Motion Picture Score by Paul Zaza. Curtains is a 1983 Canadian slasher-horror movie that tells the story of six actors competing for a role to die for. They are lured to director Jonathan Stryker’s (John Vernon - Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Dirty Harry, Heavy Metal) home during a snowstorm to compete for the role of 'Audra' where they are met with manipulation, predacious men, and a murderous masked hag. Prepared to fight for the role, these women were not expecting to fight for their lives!

The score for Curtains threatens brutality with menacing strings following the women throughout the film, as they are stalked and preyed on by a masked murderer and their doll companion. Paul Zaza, who brought us fan favorites like My Bloody Valentine and Prom Night, delivers again with Curtains!

We proudly announce the first ever reissue of this quintessential, oustanding Italian Library grail, originally released on Sermi label in 1972. Highly-regarded album and considered a masterpiece of the genre, "Nel Mondo Del Lavoro" (also released at the time with the title "World At Work" on Conroy) is one of the most precious and beatiful works conceived by the Italian maestro Rino De Filippi, and originally used for the soundtrack of the Rai-TV documentary series "sapere: IL Petrolio". Music is written and composed by the maestro backed by the great I Marc 4 studio ensemble and accompained by I Cantori Moderni di A.Alessandroni with breathless scats, insane arrangements and unbelievable, unique and complex mood music from Jazz to Lounge, Bossa Nova and more. The son of the popular tenor Tito Schipa, the young Tito Jr. started his career in 1967 with a show based on Bob Dylan's songs, arranged like a sort of rock opera. Fascinated by this formula he repeated it many times in his later works. His recording debut came in 1972 for Fonit Cetra, with the single "Sono passati i giorni", but his first proper work was the ambitious opera "Orfeo 9", that he had concentrated on since 1969, and that was first represented in theatre in Rome in 1970. A TV film also came in 1973, and the double album was one of the first examples of pop operas in Italy. Influenced by classical music, Schipa released a beautiful work that can be hardly described as a proper rock album, but surely falls into the progressive music field. "Orfeo 9" included among the others, the first record appearance by two Italian artists soon to become very popular, Renato Zero and Loredana Bertè, but many important musicians are listed in the cast, including Brainticket's leader Joel Vandroogenbroeck and drummer Tullio De Piscopo. Rock opera style means multivocal parts and orchestral arrangements, and is an interesting early example of this kind. Finally, after 45 years, comes the soundtrack, from the original master tapes, of the truly mad and weird exploitation euro-erotic-horror cult movie filmed in 1971 (but released only in 1973) by Renato Polselli (Ralph Brown). Incomprehensible and inconceivable beyond the reach of the human intellect, Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel trecento... shows a cult of pseudo-Satanists in tight red jumpsuit and black cape requiring the blood and eyes of seven virgins in order to resurrect the corpse of the persecuted witch Isabella (Rita Calderoni), who was impaled and burned at the stake some 500 years ago. A precious nonsensical gem, with nervous zooming, nude women's breasts in a colorful scenery, and an overly cryptic storyline; loony.
The soundtrack encapsulates, in its fifteen total tracks (including the 2 released at the time on 45 RPM vinyl), all typical sound elements of the “scary music” ‘of the seventies but with a hard touch of madness, experimentation and psychedelia. Female vocals give out agonizing and distressing groans, tribal African rhythmic, turned over words, plucked stings of the piano, baroque elements and lot of effects makes this soundtrack a cult object, not even to mention the obsessive care of the packaging.

1971 soundtrack from Ennio Morricone Pressed on Transparent Clear Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano “Sacco e Vanzetti” is a 1971 dramatic movie directed by Giuliano Montaldo and masterfully starred by the two lead actors Gian Maria Volonté and Riccardo Cucciolla; the film deals with the everpopular topic of the death penalty by recounting a real event that caused quite a stir at the time: the sentencing to the electric chair of two Italian immigrants who were executed in 1927 after a sevenyear trial.

For “Sacco & Vanzetti” Ennio Morricone composed one of the most intense scores of his long and successful career, starting with the mostly romantic and extremely sad theme for oboe and orchestra “Speranze di libertà”. Joan Baez’s charming voice interprets “La ballata di Sacco e Vanzetti”, divided into three parts alternating with the macabre theme of “Nel carcere” provided by electronic effects and ripping strings that would fit well in a giallo movie. The ballad motif is then reprised and played by liturgical organ and orchestra in “Sacco e il figlio”, while “La sedia elettrica” is an experimental electronic music cut. The closing song “Here’s to You”, sung by Joan Baez, has become a sort of anthem worldwide.

On the occasion of Record Store Day 2024, this legendary soundtrack is exclusively reissued on clear vinyl, with new artwork and a 30x30cm insert. Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

The soundtrack album from the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta.

The instrumental soundtrack was recorded by the band Toto (minus lead singer Fergie Frederiksen), accompanied by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Volksoper Choir, conducted by Marty Paich, father of Toto keyboardist David Paich. "Prophecy Theme" was composed for the movie by Brian Eno, who is rumored to have composed an entire earlier Dune soundtrack, although only "Prophecy Theme" and some incidental background music survived in the final film version. The first release of the soundtrack contained select cues in their original film order, plus two pieces of dialogue from the movie that served as bookends for two tracks ("Prologue" and "The Floating Fat Man (The Baron)"). This first issue was released by Polydor Records. This is the masterful score that Italian composer Franco Micalizzi created for the 1979 Sci-fi horror film Stridulum (aka. The Visitor). The Giulio Paradisi film featured a star-studded cast including Mel Ferrer, John Huston, and Shelley Winters. Although it wasn’t as commercially successful as expected at the time, its unique subject matter and expressive style eventually attracted a cult following. While Micalizzi is better known for his ‘Poliziotteschi’ flic scores and collaborations with director Umberto Lenzi, his trademark sound is unmistakably present on Stridulum with its visually evocative, engaging, and spacey take on funk. The film’s commercial performance aside, all this is enough to make Stridulum one of Micalizzi’s most captivating, if eccentric, works. Packed with great tracks such as the film’s main theme, the multiple variations on the ‘Sadness Theme’, and the standout sci-fi disco-funk of ‘Jerzy Again’, the Stridulum score offers plenty in the way of listening enjoyment. The present re-issue features the original artwork from the 1979 first pressing, along with bonus tracks including 7 alternate tracks and outtakes.

This masterpiece of game music is finally reissued on vinyl! Kentaro Haneda, a composer/arranger and pianist who boasts Japan, overdubbed a synthesizer in 1987 by playing directly by hand instead of typing. An album that transcends the boundaries of video game music, composed of symphonic songs.

Clear Blue Vinyl Edition Gatefold Cover and Brand New Artwork! “Murderock - Uccide a passi di danza” (internationally released as “Murder Rock” is a thriller/horror 1984 film directed by legendary Lucio Fulci about a dance school in which a mysterious murderer kills female students with a long pin. Its soundtrack was entrusted by the producers to Keith Emerson, another incredible artist, a virtuoso keyboardist and composer. In those early 1980s, having temporarily shelved the prog-rock experience of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Keith Emerson launched a solo career that led him to compose a number of soundtracks, including “Inferno” (1980), “Nighthawks” (1981) and, then, “Murderock”: here we have an energetic mix of 80s pop/rock anthems, perfectly in line with the sounds of the time, dressed with baroque and magniloquent arrangements that make the whole result extravagant and eccentric, almost impossible to classify and consequently unique. The most ‘straightforward’ and least extravagant tracks are “Tonight Is The Night”, “Streets To Blame” and “Not So Innocent”, sung by special guests Doreen Chanter and Mike Sheppard. “Murderock” has become a cult title among genre film fans over the years, and is here reissued on the occasion of Black Friday 2023 in a new clear blue vinyl version with gatefold sleeve and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. Death Waltz Recording Company is proud to present the return of one of horror’s scariest boogeymen, as well as one of the genre’s most iconic theme tunes with John Carpenter and Alan Howarth’s score to HALLOWEEN II. Set directly after the events of the first film, Rick Rosenthal’s sequel sets itself up as the slasher equivalent of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, making a family connection between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers while getting some good kills in at the same time. Carpenter and Howarth’s score is beefier and more intense than before, using layers of electronics to drive the audience to madness.

As before, Myers aka “The Shape” is propelled by that theme, souped up with a new and more powerful arrangement from Carpenter and Howarth. HALLOWEEN II is more overtly synth and is perhaps less focused than the original score, although that certainly means it’s nastier and more schizophrenic. The score also brings back the evocative ’Laurie’s Theme’, incorporating into a score full of harrowing musical effect, its synthesised howls and wails piercing your ears so that by the time ‘Mr. Sandman’ comes around, you’ll feel just like the final girl, delirious at having survived the aural ordeal. And that’s just when The Shape wakes up.

Death Waltz Recording Co. is delighted to revisit not only one of our favorite HALLOWEEN sequels, but one of our favorite sequels period. It’s been a long, hard road for HALLOWEEN III: THE SEASON OF THE WITCH to be accepted within the HALLOWEEN franchise, but it is now widely considered to be one of the best horror movies of the ‘80s.

The packaging for this release is also completely singular and jaw-dropping; designed by Alan Hynes (the wizard behind our FIGHT CLUB and ANOMALISA releases) it’s unlike all of our other re-issues in this series. It’s still designed to fit in the collectors box and really helps solidify what an outlier HALLOWEEN III is in the overall series.

The film is unique not only due to it lacking Michael Myers (save for a brief appearance on a TV screen) but also for its score. John Carpenter and Alan Howarth completely jettisoned their previous work and deliver nothing short of an electronic masterpiece. The lead track ‘Chariots Of Pumpkins’ is an epic 4/4 beat-driven synth-banger that has regularly been played by DJs over the last 10 years. The rest of the score features lush pads, Linn drums aplenty and veers from beautiful blissed-out ambient drones to sinister stinger-driven mood pieces. Absolutely outstanding stuff.

From the film freaks at Varèse Sarabande comes Reel Cult, a sensational new reissue series for B-movie soundtrack aficionados. One of the two titles kicking the series off for Record Store Day is the cult-classic, soul-jazz soundtrack for Ossie Davis' seminal cinematic social commentary, 1972's Black Girl. This LP features (AAA) lacquers cut by Jeff Powell from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram clear/black swirl vinyl in a tip-on jacket. Groovy!

The "Galaxy Express 999" Theme Songs and Insert Songs Collection to be Released on Analog Vinyl! * Pressed on Silver and Red Double Vinyl * Music to the animated series based on George Morikawa's famous manga * Composed by Tsuneo Imahori, Hideki Taniuchi, and Naoya Mori / Published in 1989 in the 'Weekly Shônen Magazine', 'Hajime no Ippo' by George Morikawa has become over the years a cult sports manga, and remains to this day one of the longest river series, still being published, counting more than 130 volumes. It is only natural that an animated version was born in 2000, produced by Madhouse, under the name of “Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting! of 76 episodes (covering the first thirty volumes of the series). This narrates the beginnings and the rise of a high school student, Ippo Makunouchi, in the world of professional boxing. Find now a selection of the best anime music with rock and jazz accents with the final destination: The ring! Three composers worked for this selection: Tsuneo Imahori (trigun and Gungrave), Hideki Taniuchi (in collaboration with Yoshihisa Hirano on Death Note) and Naoya Mori.

In the future, the world's oil supply has finally been exhausted, causing a massive energy crisis. In a search for alternative sources of energy, a scientist invents a machine that can harness the energy expended during sexual intercourse and transfer it into electrical power. Conviene Far Bene L’Amore is a 1975 film written and directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile, a film adaptation of his novel of the same name. It is an erotic comedy with science-fiction elements that is debilitating the theories of Wilhelm Reich (the author of The Function of the Orgasm) in which satire and fantapolitic are mixed.
The original LP with the music of Fred Bongusto, arranged and directed masterfully by Josè Mascolo, is now a cult object for the lovers of Italian melodic soundtracks with bossa nova and jazz and for the samples used by many rappers. Bongusto often combines the synth for the melody with the orchestral ground; an unmistakable and very personal solution also used the year before for the Malizia soundtrack which was a great success.
