With the Modelo '89 Vegan, SAYE managed to recreate an authentic look of an 80s tennis shoe blended with a contemporary attitude, thanks to the vegan construction with lots of recycled fibers. SAYE's goal is to be a zero-waste brand, using as much as recycled materials as possible, fight for fair worker conditions, producing SAYE sneakers in the EU, and to fight against deforestation, planting two trees for each sold unit.

Modelo '89 Vegan is the SAYE design that visually takes its cue from the sporty footwear of the seventies and combines it with a contemporary mindset. The SAYE Modelo '70 trainers are the most iconic and classic silhouette rethought and improved, built from vegan, organic and recycled materials. The outsole of the SAYE Modelo '70 is made from a 70% recycled rubber blend, while the upper is made of vegan corn nappa, which has a 68% bio-based mass content. The SAYE Modelo '70's lining is made from the brand's ever-loved bamboo fabric, and the laces consist of 100% certified organic cotton.

The goal that SAYE has set itself is to produce smart retro sneakers from as many recycled materials as possible, so that no harm is done to the environment; at the same time, SAYE is committed to fighting for fair working conditions, with production taking place in the EU. And then there's the story with the trees: to counteract deforestation, two trees are now planted for every pair of shoes sold.

VEJA's Venturi VC sneakers are not your ordinary kicks, as the C.W.L. upper is made from organic cotton with corn starch, resin plus ricinus oil coating for a leather-style look, the tech mesh lining is made from recycled PET bottles, plus all other parts of the shoe have been made to a considerable extent from recycled products, sugar cane or rice waste. These VEJA shoes are produced in a high standard International Labour Organization factory in Brazil. In addition, to make VEJA Venturi look and feel different, the design smoothly blends minimalist aesthetics with innovative technologies.
