To celebrate Christmas Eve’s 40th years anniversary, originally released in 1984, it will be released on 12-inch analog record. On side B, the different version of White Christmas will be recorded.

Touring: Over the Rhine will be supporting the vinyl release of The Darkest Night of the Year with 2023 Christmas concerts currently booked in Chicago, Boston, DC, Philadelphia, Cincinnati (three shows), Ann Arbor, Pittsburgh, Grand Rapids and Kent, Ohio.

The 1980 release The Yobs Christmas Album finds the Yobs at their most puerile and profane, a collection of deliciously vile Xmas-themed singalongs, offering rude alternate renditions of holiday favourites such as ‘Twelve Days Of Christmas’ and a druggy take of ‘Auld Lang Syne,’ alongside equally shocking originals such as ‘Ballad Of The Warrington.’ Make sure the kids & granny are out of earshot – this is the Yobs at their sickest!

Arising in the mid-1980s during the second wave of British psychobilly, the Frantic Flintstones was formed in Didcot, outside Oxford, by singer Chuck Harvey and former Meteors drummer Toby Griffin, who soon left. Following a debut EP on Raucous and the chart-topping A Nightmare On Nervous, with drummer Andy Celbo, the group signed to Links just as guitarist Pug Pete joined the fold. Not Christmas, their fourth for Links, is one of their most popular LPs, and rightly so, with ‘Frantic’ mutating Prince Buster’s ‘Madness’ and ‘Blue Christmas’ one of several Xmas-themed numbers. British psychobilly at its best!

Waxwork Records is thrilled to release Monster House Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Douglas Pipes. This special double LP marks Waxwork's third soundtrack album release with composer Douglas Pipes following 2014's Trick 'r Treat and 2016's Krampus. Monster House is a 2006 animated Horror film directed by Gil Kenan (Scream, Ghostbusters: Afterlife). The plot tells the story of a neighborhood that is terrorized by a haunted house during Halloween. The movie features the voices of Steve Buscemi (Reservoir Dogs), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko, The Secretary), Mitchell Musso (Hannah Montana), Sam Lerner, Spencer Locke, Kevin James (The King of Queens), Nick Cannon, Jason Lee, Fred Willard (Spinal Tap), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Catherine O-Hara (Beetlejuice), and Kathleen Turner (Jessica Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit).

Monster House marks Sony's first computer animated film produced by Sony Pictures Imageworks. Produced by Roger Zemeckis (Back to the Future Trilogy) and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, the film was released in 2006 and was met with praise from fans and critics for its blending of horror and accessibility to a broad audience as a feature animated film.

Roger Ebert gave the film his highest ranking of four stars calling it "one of the most original and exciting animated movies I've seen in a long time" and compared it to the work of Tim Burton.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to release THE FUNHOUSE Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by John Beal! THE FUNHOUSE is a 1981 American slasher film directed by Tobe Hooper. The plot follows four teenagers who become trapped in a dark, horror-themed ride at a local carnival in Iowa and are stalked by a mentally disabled, murderous carnie. The film was Tobe Hooper's first major studio production after Eaten Alive (1976) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974).

John Everett Beal is an internationally recognized American music composer, military veteran, classical musician and musical conductor. He has conducted for major recording artists, movies in concert such as Star Wars, Toy Story, Home Alone, and the Harry Potter series, and he is the principal conductor of the Hollywood Symphonic Orchestra. French Jazz sextet Asynchrone reimagine legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto"s repertoireAs fans of the maestro"s work, French free jazz/electro collective Asynchrone began to interrogate his oeuvre in 2020, aiming to get inside his music, taking it to unexplored new dimensions. On their debut album "Plastic Bamboo", they achieve that and more. With a wildly eclectic approach in mind, there will be songs that most will be familiar with: "Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence" and Yellow Magic Orchestra"s "Behind The Mask", in particular. And then there are the deeper cuts from Sakamoto"s solo albums from the early eighties that are less famous but that nevertheless helped to expand and augment the genre. With a wildly eclectic approach in mins, they take a varied selection of his music in a direction where free jazz meets electronics, with the sense of liberty and freedom. Asynchrone"s personnel is a link-up between founders cellist Clément Petit, producer and musician Frédéric Soulard (behind Jeanne Added"s Victoires De La Musique-winning album), alongside clarinet/saxophone player Hugues Mayot, flautist Delphine Joussein, pianist Manuel Peskine, and Vincent Taeger (Oumou Sangaré, Tony Allen) on drums. Plastic Bamboo teems with vivacity and possibility, and it"s a record that is future-facing rather than any kind of sombre eulogy. It seeks to continue the musical conversation now that the architect is no longer with us. Asynchrone plays Sakamoto.

Catatonic Suns is Patrick Shields (guitar, vocals) , Jakob Christman (bass) and Caleb Strobl (drums) Catatonic Suns new album sees them blend the underground psychedelia of the late 80s / early 90s Pacific Northwest with the shimmering shoegazery of Britain from the same time. Heavy and soft guitars, songs that soar, these new recordings verge on the epic. For fans of The Verve (early), Screaming Trees, Truly, Ride, Slowdive, Alice In Chains. Pennsylvanian threepiece Catatonic Suns release their brand new album via Agitated records this autumn (Fall if you reside in the US), Patrick and Jake have known each other since birth, obsessing on punk rock, but the band actually formed in 2019. Vocalist / guitarist Patrick and fellow guitarist Llambro Llaguri began creating homemade psychedelic psychedelic 4 track cassette demos during the Winter of 2015, taking heavy inspiration from an eclectic mix of acts ranging from Ween to R.E.M. As these early songs were created, the duo sought other like minded individuals in their hometown of Allentown, PA to take these primitive demos to the next level. It was then that Patrick recruited another childhood friend, Jakob Christman, to fill the role of bass along with another mutual friend Caleb Strobl completing the rhythm section of Catatonic Suns. In 2019, the group put out their first release, the Catatonic Suns demo, a collection of lo-fi recordings made by Patrick over the years. During this period, the band began to make a name for itself by playing shows across eastern Pennsylvania including the Lehigh Valley where local garage rock heroes Original Sins hailed from. During the months of August and September of the same year, Catatonic Sun's reputation for wall of sound psych-grunge was really brought to life when the group teamed up with local record producer guru Matt Molchany of Shards Recording Studio to track their debut studio venture “Aphelion” (more an extended EP). Self -Released in the December, the album found an audience beyond the local music circuit of Pennsylvania, even reaching countries such as the U.K.,Germany and Japan. The band continued to play shows growing their fanbase and honing their skills as a cohesive unit resulting in radio airplay across the country and a feature on the compilation “Pedal Worship” by Bummer Recordings. During this same period, Matt Molchany once again helped the band carve their next album (a full length) “Saudade” along with mastering engineer Matt Poirier (War On Drugs), which was also self released, in February 2022. They played plenty more gigs, and ventured to the west coast for some shows in LA with local friends Laurel Canyon, one especially wild night was with both bands supporting Strawberry Alarm Clock at the Whiskey A Go Go. Now a three piece and into 2023 the band record the 7 original songs and one Original Sins cover for this new release.. Recorded early 2023 at Shards Recording Studio, Bethelem, PA with tracking and mixing once again by Matt Molchany. Mastered by Mikey Young. Agitated/ Catatonic Suns intend to remaster/ reissue Saudade on LP / CD formats in 2024, to coincide with debut UK shows.
