When speaking of Keinemusik as the performing unit featuring Rampa, &ME and Adam Port, one easily can assume the last months being quite momentous. Wherever you look on the globe, chances are one of their frenetically celebrated shows has been taking place there just recently. And the prospects of the upcoming months are looking even brighter. That’s where this highly anticipated new single comes in. Emotively reminiscing all the past touring memories and building up momentum for the ones to come, „Thandaza“ boils down the Keinemusik sentiment to the essence, shaping yet another one of those set-highlights that will turn heads and hips alike. And for this one, they brought in congenial assistance by South African producer Arabic Piano, gracing the tune with his heartwarming croon and old companion Alan Dixon providing one of his utmost catchy and touching piano lines.

Dance Generation from the prolific Parisian producer Vitess again affirms his place in leading France’s underground clubbing scene, and beyond. Four electronic tracks are entailed in this EP, spotlighting his distinctive twist on homogenising groovy synths and percussive layers.

Side A is home to “The Silver Lining”: A classic high tech string track with infectious bass and an 808909 drumline. Side B features a collaboration between Huey Mnemonic and Max Watts titled, “Echoes of Change”: a free jazz trip on wax, for Djing or home listening. Huey Mnemonic remixes their minimal techno jam on the B2, giving us his stripped down interpretation. Perfect for doubling up.

Portuguese techno figurehead Lewis Fautzi returns to Soma with the Properties Specifications EP. A mainstay on the Soma roster for 10 years, Fautzi has progressed through the global ranks to become one of techno's most recognisable acts. A consistent and competent producer, Fautzi's sound has evolved through the years yet remains modern and as on point as ever.

Density is a visceral yet hypnotic opener, its subtle drive is pushed via its instantly building, electric synth hook. Severity continues down a dark and hypnotic patch as polyrhythmic percussion guides a pulsating and incessant groove. Malleability once again displays Fautzi's control over specific elements, each grafting over the other to create new depths of rhythm throughout the track. Tension closes out the EP but does so in emphatic form. The most driving track on the release, thumping low end and crisp percussion are backed with twisted synths and dark atmospheres that swell throughout.

Bart Skils comes in strong with a career highlight offering, ‘Roll the Dice’.

We can always rely upon the Dutchman to craft a breath taking dancefloor heater. ‘Roll the Dice’ sees him level up again. The title track is driven by his sharp reverb-heavy bottom end that’s coloured by a brain spangling vocal sample that counts down in Arabic to thrilling effect. From a raucous tour of South America to Space Miami, it’s highlighted every gig he’s played.

Its accompaniment is ‘Into the Clouds’, a dreamy Balearic-tinged slice of techno that featured in all of Adam Beyer’s Ibiza sets last summer.

One of Drumcode’s most vital go-to artists Bart Skils returns.

‘Horsepower’ marks the Dutchman’s third credit on Drumcode this year, following a strong collaborative work with Weska ‘Shades of Summer’ and the new remixes of ‘Your Mind’ from Charles D, his classic with Adam Beyer from 2018. Bart’s also been busy throughout the summer season, a fixture at our Off Sonar, Drumcode Miami and the Drumcode Ibiza event

His latest two tracker continues this reach vein of form. The title track is vintage Bart Skils; a searing festival-ready bomb built around a dreamy vocal sequence and long mid-section break that drops back into stomping techno territory. ‘Sunshine in the Dust’ brings the party with lively percussion, flamboyant vocal samples and tough bottom end. A super fun track bursting with Latin flavours.

Eastenderz welcomes French party starters Oden & Fatzo and Thurman for a double dose of debuts on the label, with this funk-fuelled, punchy, summertime house four tracker. Part feel-good, part hazy deepness, part heads down heat, there’s a cut here for every occasion, giving a glimpse into why these two acts are on the trajectory they are. Essential business as always from Eastenderz.

Möbius is an aerial ballet created by Cie XY in collaboration with the choreographer Rachid Ouramdane, and composers Jonathan Fitoussi & Clemens Hourrière. One of the most sensitive sets of ears in Paris, GRM affiliate Jonathan Fitoussi meets Clemens Hourrière for a beautiful 3rd album called "Möbius". After their acclaimed "Five Steps" [2015] & "Espace Timbrés" [2018] on Versatile records, Fitoussi & Hourrière tethered again to the classic Buchla modular synthesiser, but this time for composed the soundtrack of an amazing aerial ballet in collaboration with Cie XY and famous choregrapher Rachid Ouramdane; Widescreen results "For Möbius we have teamed up with two composers, Jonathan Fitoussi and Clemens Hourrière; for several years now they have shared a common passion for electronic instruments with their unique incredible sound. Bart Skils returns to Drumcode with a trio of dancefloor weapons. The artist has been one of the most consistent label contributors over the last 18 months, with two Truesoul EPs, a cut on A-Sides Vol.10 and now ‘New Era’, his second Drumcode EP in a year. ‘All Over My Body’ features a collaboration with well-regarded US producer/DJ/vocalist Superchumbo and is a ready-made festival track, propelled by a memorable vox hook, driving groove and thrilling effects. ‘Golden Temple’ is trademark Skils and builds to a hypnotic laser-kissed climax. ‘Dub Killer’ is punchy techno at its finest, capped off by a woozy vocal drop.

Returning after a six-month break, Truesoul delivers a pair of uplifting cuts from Bart Skils, marking his debut on Drumcode’s little brother imprint. One of Drumcode most consistent contributors, Bart Skils also knows his way around a melodic lead better than most. With this is in mind, it’s difficult to believe this is the first sighting we’ve had of the Dutchman’s productions on Truesoul. ‘My Rules’ was created during lockdown with the specific intent to brighten the lives of the techno faithful. Both compositions were inspired by the type of tracks Skils would typically use to build his sets during longer sessions, when tension-and-release dynamics are deployed with aplomb. The title track comprises a wiggly bassline running alongside a skilfully arranged vocal hook, while tiny flashes of melody amplify the atmosphere. ‘Cruising Waves’ is marked by a hypnotic groove and a meditative vocal loop before a ball-tearing industrial synth-line rips through the bottom end at regular intervals throughout the second half of the piece.

Masked Techno assassin Buried Secrets returns for his 2nd EP with Soma with the "Of Lost Things EP". Rave infused, hard hitting, face pounding techno is standard from Buried Secrets and this latest release is nothing less than that. The EP feature two stellar remixes from two of techno's most exciting acts in Obscure Shape & Shdw and Inhalt Der Nacht. Both of whom stamp their own unique style on the originals.

Fabio & Grooverider have been at the forefront of UK dance music for over 3 decades. This is the roots of their story told through music. The 2 London DJ's are part of the DNA of the global Jungle / D&B movement and they have remained relevant, cutting edge, authoritative and essential to this truly underground art-form since it's inception. RAGE could arguably be the ground zero of Jungle. The party was started at London's cavernous Heaven club by Fabio & Grooverider in 1988, at the height of Acid House fever that was making it's way up and down the motorways, slip-roads, fields and warehouses of the M25 and further beyond every weekend, troubling the nation, the police, your parents and the press as it went. RAGE was a different beast, it certainly channelled some of that Acid energy but pitted it against the new and exciting sounds emanating from Belgium, Amsterdam, Detroit, Sheffield, Essex and Hackney and in turn created a new style, a new sonic attitude and energy in the process. Rumbling bass-lines, narcotic synth rushes and roughly chopped and sped-up breakbeats all merged into a style that we now know as Jungle. Nothing like this had been heard before, this was a brand new style and it was coming out of London's West End and Fabio & Grooverider were the people firmly behind it.

Future Jazzers, notorious experimentalists and outfield eccentrics stumble onto the dancefloor. In the 90s. In the UK.

From an electronic music perspective, the period 1992 to 1996 in the UK that this compilation celebrates, was one of dizzying sonic diversification.

It was also a particularly turbulent time in the UK, not only politically and economically, but also culturally too. Economic catastrophe in ‘92 was followed by widespread poverty, a cost of living crisis and countless political scandals. Meanwhile, John Major’s Tory government pandered to its political base via unpleasant, authoritarian legislation that seemingly sought to crush rave culture, alternative lifestyles, and traveller communities. The UK was not so much a ‘Happy Land’ – to quote the name of this compilation – as an angry and divided one. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Throughout, the music created by producers based across these Isles remained uniquely British, speeding up a process begun in the late 1980s through the emergence of street soul, bleep & bass and breakbeat hardcore – musical styles whose roots in multicultural inner-city communities made them distinctly different from the Black American sounds that had inspired their creators. It was here, rather than in the indie pubs of Camden, that real musical revolutions were taking place.

This deep diving selection brings together some truly adventurous and original electronic music from this period, much of it very hard to find. Major label outings connect with white label oddities with ease. Perhaps it could even be argued that many of these unearthed gems fit more easily into DJ sets in 2023 than they ever did at the time. The off-kilter swing of Richard D James’ obscure and highly sought after Strider B outing, ‘Bradley’s Robot’ is joined by further rare cuts from Cabaret Voltaire and the Black Dog, and artists as diverse as Ultramarine, Herbert, Fretless AZM, and Radioactive Lamb, amongst others.

This collection has been lovingly selected, compiled and mastered for maximum sonic playback. This very special release boasts sublime pastoral themed artwork, as well as informative and passionate liner notes by celebrated music scribe Matt Anniss (‘Join The Future’).

Intease 003 is the result of the third Intease Contest. The idea is that a godfather imposes tracks/samples to the producers and that they do what they want with them and produce a track at the end. Then, the jury makes a pre-selection, and the community of producers votes for its favorites. So here we have the track of the godfather Vitess who produced the track DewDew. The winners of the contest are Doublure, Palorim, Jake Scully and Yahzi.

Steppin’Motion has established itself as a hugely cultured label and event series. Its motto is “Music with a Soul, Connections & Discoveries”. The art of DJing and a passion for the Vinyl medium are always the main focus and has helped earn Steppin’Motion a reputation as one of the most innovative brands in underground music. In the early beginnings of Oden & Fatzo, the crew spent countless hours crafting what will later become their unique touch in the small town of Magny, inhabited by a mere 100 souls. Bringing his signature heavy freak crunch to the label, Cocktail Party Effect's "Oscilloscope Detachments" is the latest addition to the Midnight Shift catalogue.

Headliner A1 '77' dazzles in melodic glory paired with glitchy underfoot and a high-voltage wire running hot. Next, '88' lets it all loose with classic breaks twisted on its head and with its core intestines spilling out. Unexpected turns in this effect-heavy club composition recalls the phrase that "you've gotta know the rules to break the rules" and CPE is undoubtedly a master of that. '99' takes it further down South London style for the heads, while ambient closer '111' visualises the previously underscored oscilloscope in full spectrum.

Techno Parade Vinyl is saddened and honored to release our beloved friend Tim Baker. Tim was this good-hearted and cheerful person who lighted our souls and this white vinyl, Last Dance, is meant to perpetuate his light. His music will be played for generations to come.

Tim was a friend and a mentor to Van. They created sounds and crafted ideas which will forever remain in their hearts and their timeless music.

It's all about the early 90s vibes on this 12" from Fauvre as four underground anthems from the era are revisited. Forty Wings Dynamo's 'Inversion' has a dubby, dreamy progressive house feel, its epic outlook and echoing percussion inevitably bringing Leftfield's first handful of 12"s to mind, before 'Raveolution' (Acid mix) brings a more jungle techno feel with sliced up breaks skittering around the four-to-the-floor kicks. Pedro Bertho's 'toitoi' starts side two, nodding to Jaydee's 'Plastic Dreams' with its soulful keys creating magic over a simple, banging techno framework before COEO's 'Vertigo' gets to work with its proto-breakbeat beats and one utterly orgasmic breakdown. Well worth a step back in time.

QphoriQ joins Fides Records with a 4 tracker Electro-Tinged EP named “Emerald Journeys”. Analogue synths, complex structures and pulsating drums are remarkable in QphoriQ style while a dj-friendly remix by label boss Z.I.P.P.O shows the eclectic nature of the label.

Bleep was the hype par excellence at the beginning of the techno movement in 1990/91. Bleep – inspired by the beeping sound of small toy robots – stood for a phase of good mood and sounds that had never existed before. LFO with their groundbreaking track of the same name and Tricky Disco were two protagonists of those happy days.

More than 30 years later, Jürgen Laarmann (editor of the legendary Frontpage Magazine 89-97, promoter of Love Parade and Mayday 91-97, Bash Rec. 91-94) had the thought that nothing is missing in current electronic dance music as much as bleep.

The idea came about when discussing how to create a soundtrack for the art and techno hype of the day and the crypto art moving currenting stirring up the art market. The comeback of bleeps in a new guise is surely a tried and true remedy: the Bleep Gigaverse makes the blockchain shake.

With his old friend and Bash Records buddy Mijk van Dijk, Laarmann developed the NFT anthem with the striking Fazer bullet intro and a fat 2022 bleep that has been extensively tested on post-Corona dancefloors. Club legend Justus Köhncke (Whirlpool Productions among others) himself a big Bleep fan and Laarmann’s neighbor, contributed a house mix. Most recently, they managed to bring the great Michael Wells – the Godfather of Bleep into the Bleep Gigaverse. He contributes as Tricky Disco with all new bleeps and also with a Hardstyle mix, so the EP offers a spectrum with really different mixes.

Tachyon Audio partner and artist Paradaux brings you the label’s eighth installment Tac008 the Fleeting Glory EP. The four-track release presents some hard-hitting functional and engaging beats with strong support from Los Angeles USA techno powerhouse Drumcell who contributes a scintillating remix of the records title track.

Side A begins with another of Paradaux’s gems in Fleeting Glory (a1). This title track is impeccably orchestrated and strikes a hard-to-find balance between being dancefloor-friendly driving and creative and heady with its synth work.

Drumcell brings his distinct sound and mesmerizing groove to the EP in Fleeting Glory (Drumcell Mutation) (a2). Engaging and unique drum patterns guide the listener through an expansive soundscape that tweaks the ears and pointedly reforms the core elements of the original retaining the strong mood.

Side B Mover (b1) continues the glory immediately with a strong trippy 303-oriented dive into the realm of drum-driven sci-fi techno. Leave no interstellar prisoners.

The last full track on the EP Pulsar (b2) finishes the record with Paradaux's strong and distinct desert techno acid vibe as it envelopes the listener with grimy and building synth work and broken and loopy percussive elements and noise manipulation.

The record is capped off with a vinyl locked groove from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (nasa) audio collection Haquindar (b3) capturing a mission control audio test countdown from the Apollo moon mission’s Capsule Communicator.

Spun Out is a London-based artist booking agency which has been run by Caroline Hayes for over 20 splendid years, that looked after the life and times of Andrew Weatherall alongside his partnership with Sean Johnston under their A Love From Outer Space moniker, and the likes of Optimo (Espacio), Ivan Smagghe, Josh Caffe, Man Power, Body Hammer, Kiara Scuro and many more artists, doing it differently.

Kicking off the A-side of the first record is Hardway Bros’ (aka Sean Johnston) previously unreleased remix of We Are The Axis by The Asphodells, the duo consisting of the Andrew Weatherall and former Battant member and Spun Out talent Timothy J. Fairplay. An energetic techno stomper with percussive rhythms, this exclusive remix offers the ideal tantalising dose to tease any dancefloor. The vocals and synth layers give it a punk rock approach, referencing the multi-genre essence of Weatherall’s taste in music.

Tel-Aviv-based Autarkic’s Sleepover closes the A-side with a chuggy lullaby, one that is certainly unsuitable for putting a baby to bed, given its intricate acid lines of total hypnosis. Following on the B-side is Manctalo Banger, a house bop by the Manchester-via-Ibiza computer game nerd and vinyl digger Ruf Dug, and Shizowaves, Turkish-born Basel-based Mehmet Aslan’s soulful touch to the compilation, bringing Middle-Eastern percussive melodies and catchy basslines.

The second record is introduced by Paranoid London, with a Spun Out dedicated acid techno banger appropriately titled Spinning Out and Fantastic Twins’ EBM track Kali’s Tongue Was A Weapon. On the B-side is Lithuanian chug legend Manfredas’ Hfuhruhurr, and Naum Gabo, who closes the compilation with the chaotic analogue-synth frenzy, Cold Sold. The name Naum Gabo may evoke the pioneer of Russian constructivism, who rose to fame thanks to his crazy kinetic sculptures. However, here it manifests as one half of Spun Out’s Optimo duo Jonnie Wilkes (JG Wikes) and James Savage. The duo’s impeccable manipulation of electronic hardware couldn’t give a better homage to him.

Bart Skils & Weska re-link for another spitfire two-tracker, following 2019’s popular ‘Polarize’ EP. The Dutch Drumcode veteran and rising Canadian artist share an effortless creative symmetry, both masters of powerful techno music with an impact-heavy melodic edge. Their debut collaboration ‘Polarize’ / ‘Lost on You’ was a notable summer highlight for the label in 2019, so a follow up was always on Adam Beyer’s mind. ‘Shades of Summer’ offers a needed respite to the cold and looks ahead to the warmer festival-ready months. The track is a transcendental slice of techno that plays skilfully with tension and release dynamics and is made for stadium-sized moments. ‘House of Lords’ is a vital dancefloor tool and rolls for days.

Electronic dreamer Mattia Prete opens 2022 with “Life Is Waiting” on the Faith Disciplines label. His six track offering lands this year and is another mesmerising trip to the outer edges of the techno world.

Amsterdam based DJ and producer Perdu aka Alain van der Born returns to Live At Robert Johnson for his second release: On his Illusion Of Choice EP, Perdu drives his sound one notch harder, yet retains his trademark 1980s tinged vibe. Perdu has already secured releases on Dgtl Records, Heist and Let’s Play House amongst others, and surely is a keen producer to keep your eyes and ears on.

A1 Archi gets into gear with a straight and focused beat arrangement. It’s a trippy uptempo vibe, intertwined by a slightly modulated Arpeggio-Bassline and its transposed twin figure.

There are various reasons why it took so long to realize a record together… but here we are… and this is how I imagined it and what I had hoped for… Circles Bros is Wim Lecluyse. Originally from The Netherlands but living in Belgium now for many years. He has been making and releasing his music since 2002… amongst others on his excellent Morc Records label. With his music Circle Bros is submerging you with hypnotic lo-fi ambient and drone music with a folklorish feeling and a psychedelic touch… His work has been shifting from more song based to ambient like pieces… or a perfect blending of that… “Waves/Peaks” came into existence when Circles Bros sent me a proposal for an album… but instead of releasing the complete album I proposed to make a record out of the two long mersmerizing tracks which were part of the selection he sent me… when in the dialogue about this the working title of one of these tracks turned out to be “Vrystaete” I knew for sure this was the right way for a Circle Bros record on Vrystaete… These two long tracks with a minimal structure are created with minimal means and minimal post-production… the tracks evolved out of shorter pieces and are “stretched” creating this dreamy and otherworldly vibe… This is music to sit back to and get into and let it come over you and flow with it… Music to experience and not talk about to much…

Luxembourg based Persian producer Scarlit Port delivers a new EP of uncompromisingly violent power electronics techno titled Highness Homa for Megastructure_ Creating an aggressive counterpoint to his previous releases, “Highness Homa” features 4 racks of aggravated industrial body techno with massive sounds for listening both on and off the dance floor. The record starts with the 145 bpm pounder “Highness Homa”. The intensity continues melancholically with the transcending As it Shall, driving the beats and hypnosis further with heavy-hitting percussion of “Haevenbeas”. The record ends with the bludgeoning track Mina’s Doom, created together with Blush Response – a smasher that keeps you at the edge of your seat! The album features several guest vocalists, including the stadiumpacking phenomenon Liberato hailing from Napoli, the Moroccan-born Paris-based DJ and singer Glitter, the catchy ItaloPop artist Cosmo as well as Chico Blanco, a young singer and producer at the forefront of Spain’s new generation of independent pop music artists. the Middle ’is a reflection on recent years. A story about movement and migration around the Mediterranean but also the notion of a moving identity. It’s about the luck of the drawer, finding yourself born in the middle of the ‘West’, whilst others strive to get here with the hope of a better life. It’s about being in the middle of music and cultures and the beautiful accidents that this movement has produced over the years. Above all, it’s a celebration of the beauty of the movement to a better life, to create something new, with hope and optimism whatever the circumstances. It’s a celebration of diversity and inclusivity.

Portuguese sci-fi maker Lewis Fautzi is here again with his very own recipe about how the music of the future should sound like.

His style has evolved to harsher territories lately, with distortion appearing as one of the main components here.

First cut "Induced Pulse" is a broken groove exercise, with pounding kicks and vocal samples providing the introduction while obscure components join the march as the minutes go.

"Undirected Differential" goes straight to the point from the beginning, with obsessive sequences running across a solid paced rhythm. The synth line evolves continuously, changing the filter frequency, mutating and constantly changing.

The B-side opens with "Intense Mechanism", in a galactic mood with one bar arpeggiated sounds, modulated wisely running over a blurred and distorted drum line.

Last slice is "Stimulated Desorption", again hypnosis and repetition as leitmotiv with similar sound components as the previous one but with a more shuffled drum approach.

Lithuania’s Ponty Mython brings his signature style of dubbed out cosmic breaks to Not An Animal Records. Twinkly title track 'Onimano X991' leads in with a heavy four to the floor bass kick laced with an eerie interstellar melody and signature broken beat drum pattern. Deliciously squelchy interludes and breakdowns are the cherry on the space cake here. Music rearrangement aficionado DJ Fett Burger gives 'Onimano X991' an atmospheric massage. Launching with the eerie melody recognisable from the original mix but minus the squelch, Fett Burger transcends the track from a 2am floor killer to a 6am floor chiller via a cleverly reprogrammed drum pattern, drawing the stress right out of your deltoids with his beautifully formed fingers. 'Walkie Talkie' is a delicious late night squelch-a-thon from the get go, oozing Not An Animal style with its vocoder arps and space didgeridoos all over its four to the floor kick. Finally, 'We Expect A Soft' Landing nails its orbital re-entry calculations, touching down squarely on the realms of ambient dub techno. A tasteful composition reminiscent of something from The Higher Intelligence Agency’s ‘Colourform’, and that’s a huge compliment. A perfectly paced build that culminates in chesty bass swells and bleepy arps.

Welcome to Dublin's Woozy! Dublin’s Woozy label premieres on wax with Radial, the debut EP from newcomer Coe. 3 dubstep-informed club weapons b/w a percussive rework from Or:la. The title track recalibrates mid-noughties Fwd> pressure, suspending us in an E-licked smog before puncturing the rave-lry with thrusting bass stomps and fervorous IDM-adjacent drums for an electro-id crazed stomper. Say (KL Tribute) flexes Coe’s wub mechanics, presenting computerised sound chaos before dropping a half-step hungry wobble fest, mounting the pressure on the ‘floor to a near combustible, skanking peak. On the flip, 403 slightens the pace for a chugging techno/electro zinger with a faint dembow shell, sounding like the soundtrack to a sinister salsa dance. Or:la’s drum-tastic Radial rework sees us out, conducting an orchestra of percussive pistons akin to a ravey engine room for a mid-tempo grooving killer.

REPITCH Recordings welcomes VTSS to its ranks. The Polish DJ and producer (real name Martyna Maja) being a proud alumni of Warsaw’s Brutaz club night and Jasna1 club (as well as one of Discwoman’s most recent acquisitions), it is no wonder her style overflows with dark energy and tenacious ravey vibes. Her REPITCH debut channels this same ardor into four heavy-hitting bangers that serve as sonic power conductors and ecstatic stamina enhancers. The industrialized pounding of her drum sounds is always accompanied by a taste for reimagining the classic vestiges of techno, rave, and even hardcore: from hoover sounds and sampled vocal refrains to classic Berlin style staccato synth pulses. Her approach is though far from just piling a set of tokenized references, and the raw urgency that fuels her creative energy keeps her production as fresh as her behind-the-decks manifestations.

As one half of Red Axes, Dori Sadovnik could perhaps already stake a claim as one of the most prolific men in electronic music. A natural artist, Sadovnik is the sort of musician who never stops recording, a creator ahead of a consumer, well-adapted to a frenetic lifestyle. This particular impulse has been funneled into a project known as Kapitan, an already expansive collection of tracks clocking in anywhere between 130 and 150 beats-per-minute. As for a home, it just so happened that DJ Tennis, friend, collaborator and founder of Life and Death, was processing similar instincts, borne out of his love and association with the nineties heyday of IDM, pioneered by labels such as Warp and Rephlex. “I don’t really know what led me there but I had a feeling that I needed to be in the mountains”, explains Sadnovik. “I’m not a nature guy, nor do I feel particularly spiritual, but I was always struck by the harmony of it all. Everything is in the mix.” This all-encompassing, blissful philosophy is deeply felt throughout this journey, a fluid blend of analogue and digital sounds rendered as organic as the landscape that inspires the album. Interlocking rhythms evolve into unexpected chamber pieces and bubbling acid lines blossom into rave psychedelia on opening tracks such as ‘Weird Day’ and ‘Flowers’, progressing to the sound of ‘Takak’, which inspires meditations on enormous bass weight, as mantras creep in from the surrounding forest of sound. In the album’s second-half, this sincere sense of awe expands further still. Centrepiece tracks ‘In The Valley’ inspires a true sense of wonder and transcendence, complex rhythms blending with wide-eyed reverence. ‘Smile’ is trippy and innocent while ‘Elleven’ crackles with whispering energy over whiplash breakbeats.

On Board Music kicks off 2021 with Point C, the third in a series of Various Artist 12-inches. It continues Laura BCR’s exploration of the heady atmospheres between techno, dub and ambient, where the boundaries between the dancefloor and headphone introspection are blurred. Foreign Material’s opens Point C with a depth charge bassline and cavernous swells. It sets up the ethereal, light-footed skip of Hiver’s “Time Lapse” and Sylve’s dreamy “Cloudless Raindrops”.
