Memory Remains boss Kirik joins forces with Miami’s Imbue for their collaborative ‘On Distance’ EP. This time Kirik pairs up with the Miami-based trio Imbue who add their dynamic instrumentation to the project through guitars, piano, and synthesizer improvisation. Opening the release is the jazzy funk-infused ‘On Distance’, laid out across seven minutes with an amalgamation of guitar licks and looped hooks alongside plucked bass tones, strings and organic rhythms combined to create a psychedelia-tinged twist on House. ‘All Right’ follows next and shifts gear into a more classic house feel, employing Latin percussion and wandering keys alongside guitar melodies and soulful vocal chants. Science, Art And Ritual' is a story of 'process'. Growing up in Harrow (a then quiet suburb of London) in the 70's and 80's from the age of about 10, Kingsuk Biswas aka Bedouin Ascent's ears opened up to sound as he scanned the airwaves. The undeniable righteousness of 80's dub via David Rodigan's Roots Rockers shows was the first prominent influence he received, and with punk roots --and his burgeoning record collection-- became exposed to the breathless post punk experimentation that followed in the early 80's sweeping up free jazz, noise, dub and much more. Throughout though, he maintained his fascination with Indian Classical music which was a mainstay in his parent's house and spoke with the same infinite space as Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures', and King Tubby's Studio dispatches. Through those teens he assembled and de-assembled, knocking about with fellow travellers --punk bands, garage, space rock, noise. Something was happening. On-U Sound, ECM, Factory Records kept him plugged in and sane. At that time Kingsuk's core studio setup revolved around his vintage Gretsch, Fender Jazz, Moog, Tr-606 and rudimentary FX. He added congas, folk instruments, pipes, hand percussion, gongs, and jammed out shards of funk, noise, jazz fusion, electro and ambience into his hungry Tascam Portastudio. By 1987 these had morphed into what we'd now refer to broadly as techno, but the genre didn't exist beyond the reverberating walls of his bedsit, and he hadn't yet plugged into the global conversation. At that time Kingsuk's core studio setup revolved around his vintage Gretsch, Fender Jazz, Moog, Tr-606 and rudimentary FX. He added congas, folk instruments, pipes, hand percussion, gongs, and jammed out shards of funk, noise, jazz fusion, electro and ambience into his hungry Tascam Portastudio. 'Science, Art And Ritual' was released in 1994 by Rising High Records and was presented as Bedouin Ascent's debut album, although 'Music for Particles' (released in 1995, again on Rising High) was recorded even before --'sar' sessions span from 1992-1993, whereas 'Music for Particles' were earlier from 1989-1992, with some older 4-track references from about 1986 too. Weaved in throughout the album are subconscious references to music that Kingsuk heard in the past that still remained within sight as companions. The opening track "Ancient Ocean Iii", referencing the extinct ocean Tethis, unapologetically channels Tackhead, Colourbox, Mantronix and Lee Perry. The style was also deliberately juxtaposed to the prevailing sound in techno at the time, which had locked onto a rigid form of symmetrical kicks and light snare drums. Elsewhere 80's soul and funk are frozen and captured in fragile glass lattices. Electric pianos resound throughout, such as in "He Is She", probably a half-memory of 70's MOR radio from childhood sleepy night drives. A duel between kick drums from three generations of Roland drum machines --tr-808, Tr-707 and R-8-- is a central theme in "Transition-R", all in conversation, calling and responding. These were not just machines to Bedouin Ascent, but part of an extended family, with heart and soul. Three decades after seeing the light, Lapsus is proud to present a special 30th anniversary reissue of this left-field techno gem in a repackaged and redesigned edition. All pressed on a deluxe 3LP marbled vinyl and including a limited lithographic insert print of the original album cover. All tracks have been restored and remastered directly from the original DAT tapes, and the album also features previously unreleased tracks such as "In the Clouds" and "Thru Water" --regularly performed live at that time and produced in the same period as the album sessions in 1993. 'Science, Art And Ritual' may refer to esoteric traditions in Indian philosophy, but equally embodies the collision of the science, the art and the ritual that is at the core of being immersed in a deep musical journey.

Artisjok Records is happy to present you the second EP on the label of 'Hyas' - a Lyon based DJ / Producer who knows no bounds in merging different influences. The release kicks off with "Level", a fusion of broken beat and dub techno that creates a deep, textured sound, setting the tone for the entire journey. "Yellow Zushi" follows with a jazzier approach, weaving broken beat drums with smooth, melodic elements. For footwork aficionados, "Dontgiveashit" delivers at 160 BPM, blending a funky, jazzy vibe that captures the producer's energetic yet laid-back style. "In Walked Dub" then introduces the bass-heavy wobble of dubstep, featuring a homemade bassline that will shake any sound system. Finally, "Exclusive" pays homage to the early days of Skream with raw, dubstep-inspired grooves that will resonate with fans of the genre.

Funkadelic were the most influential group to emerge from Detroit in the 1970s. Their early albums have cast a long shadow over everything that came afterwards in the city. It was music that understood the past but was firmly aiming towards the future and mixed soul, funk and rock into an almost unimaginable stew. Albums such as “Maggot Brain”, “Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow” and “Cosmic Slop” are regularly featured in all-time greatest lists.

From the techno pioneered by the likes of Carl Craig and Underground Resistance, to the garage rock revival spearheaded by the White Stripes and the Dirtbombs, all have paid homage to the Parliafunkadelicment Thang. This album is a tribute from some of the most important recording artists currently working in the city to these most influential of forefathers. The very finest talent now active in Detroit appear on the record, being given free rein to work on the multi-track tapes, to rework in any way they see fit. We have full-on remixes, futuristic creations using the original track as an inspiration, disco-fied re-edits and skeletal dubs.

Spearheaded by Brendan Gillen of Interdimensional Transmissions, the set features names working across the musical spectrum. There is an appearance by those most mysterious of techno pioneers Underground Resistance, and by Kenny Dixon Jr and his alter-ego Moodymann. The Dirtbombs throw down a frenetic take on ‘Super Stupid’, whilst disco re-edit expert Gaye Marvine adds his magic to ‘Undisco Kidd’. Other contributors include Funkadelic alumni Amp Fiddler, Marcellus Pittman and Anthony Shake Shakir.

This is a worthy celebration by New Detroit of its most twisted and illustrious forebears.

Al Wootton returns to his label Trule with his second album “We Have Come To Banish The Dark”. The record is a product of dystopic times, taut with energy and restrained violence, yet never oppressive or nihilistic. The theme is one of unity, liberation and resistance to a darkening world, against the rising tide of fascism, hypercapitalism, and right wing politics. Yet there remains a constant hope and light, most evident in the downtempo roller “Devarim” and the closing bars of “May Your Angels Of Light Accept Him”.

Wootton brings to the fore his youth experiences playing in post-punk bands and his longstanding appreciation of Metal to this swung, robust techno album. “We Have Come to Banish The Dark’’ recalls the industrialism of Chris and Cosey, Coil and Throbbing Gristle, while the ghosts of the UK Hardcore continuum through Jungle and UK Garage remain an ever haunting presence. The rhythms maintain a flexibility and lightness of touch that provide contrast to the monochrome industrial sound palette.

Over nine tracks Wootton explores a variety of rhythmic styles, from techno steppers such as “Descender” and “A Pox Cast”, to the 4x4 house of “A Cruel Sun Over Catalonia”, the minimal Drum and Bass-esque “Number, Weight , Division” and the loopy techno of “The Norman Yoke”, while eschewing typical genre tropes to maintain a cohesive sound over the whole album.

We Have Come To Banish The Dark is an album that rewards both ecstatic club moments and repeated deep listening with its high energy and detailed, textured sound design.

After an intriguing appearance on Lobster Theremin's PLUR compilation in 2020, New York's Talker prepares his debut on Cheeky Sneakers with four varying cuts of emotive breakbeat and squelchy electro NRG.

"Information" takes the swaying aesthetics and waved basslines of contemporary breaks and wraps it in a digital ribbon; a periodic dip into a post-humanoid world where information is no longer something we consume, but something we have become. Delicate melodies swirl above the clouds leading the raver to their inevitable peak, before large kicks and percussive power sparks the fuse with a flurry of gun fingers and hands ascending towards new heights.

"Da Business" again wraps its electronic sequence in a modern blanket with elements of grime, garage and electro taking it in turns to wow and delight; a distinctive, lairy UK energy moulds together with ice-like synth work on an emotional trip that packs a punch, before the B-side is introduced on "X", a squelching cut of acid-electro made for late nights and strobe lights.

"Echolation" finishes things off the way it stated - cinematic breakbeat that invites the listener to take a moment for themselves on the dancefloor, looking inward for moments of private contemplation as the euphoria is pushed increasingly outward.

Ploy kicks off the year with the third release on his Deaf Test imprint with his own strain of club rattling 4/4 house music.

The A side - Vortex (stripped mix) - rolls out an infectious three note bassline, rumbling alongside seven minutes of cranky arps and sharp risers with a minute long breakdown providing the only respite amidst the unrelenting groove. Tech house through Ploy’s weirdo lens.

Vocal chops and slapping percussion feature on Vortex (busy mix), deftly layered over the pounding U.S garage drums and explosive hits. A main room roller for the peak hours.

In Your Head races along a galvanic bassline and guttural techno synths, complemented by an earworm vocal hook (a ploy signature). Rude UK tech house business.

Eyez On U is a ‘tough as nails’ progressive drum workout. Functional club gear with bags of groove and industrial strength breaks, slapping you around the dancefloor.

Sending winds down the 5 tracker with sultry r&b vocals floating over hazy synths, glossy strings and a dusty drum groove. A nod to Detroit and the house music that has informed his work for the past decade.

After an extensive catalog of digital deep, minimal and tech house releases, Mole Music makes its debut in the realm of vinyl with a fresh selection of dancefloor weapons from a fine array of artists, each offering their unique takes on deep house, tech, and minimal sounds.



The A-side kicks off with JHNS "Nevermind", a minimalistic, low-end heavyweight groove driven by rubbery drums and a tight bassline. Steve End & Colau follow with a silky late-night hypnotic track, while El Funkador closes the A-side with an uplifting, drum-shuffling deep house cut, complete with funky synths and chord progressions.



On the B-side, "Night Strobe", a collaboration between Alben, LAJE, and Erratic, brings a retro-futuristic feel with a fast-paced, garage-tinged vibe. This sets the stage for HOT DLVRY's "Friction", a thumping deep groove led by spacious chords and keys, all anchored by an analog bassline. To round off this well-balanced compilation, Craftsmanship delivers a warm, humid deep house sound featuring bold chords and punchy drums - one of the defining motifs of this standout EP.

Okain returns to Talman Records with a four-track EP, offering a glimpse into his two-decade journey as a producer. Continuing his legacy of providing DJs with robust dance floor material, this EP stays true to form. Opening the EP is "Wake Up," a tribute to early 2000s tech house, featuring crisp percussion, sharp stabs, and haunting vocals. Following is "Take Me Up," capturing the essence of UK garage with its thick Reese bassline and distinct vocal hooks. Turning to the flip side, the EP ventures into darker realms with "Secret Science," blending dub-inspired synths with a weighty sub bass, perfect for late-night atmospheres. Closing the journey is "Swing Theory," a groove-driven track fusing minimal house elements into its infectious rhythm.

A steady and sure buzz has been building around Steve Young’s ‘Scarper’ project over the past few years, particularly since his acclaimed 2017 debut album ‘Warmer Squares’ and subsequent dancefloor favourite ‘E-Funk', which won over fans from Skream to Carl Craig with its genre-crossing appeal. Marking a noticeable shift in direction and a new sense of focus, Scarper returns with four tracks of varying styles and influences. Drawing from dub, techno, breakbeat and rave, he mainly shoots for the floor (with a clear emphasis on bass weight), although as always, there is ample headphone fodder. Opening with ambient intro 'Wavecrush,' Scarper moves through dub- infused downtempo with the Weatherall-esque chugger 'Metadub,' swiftly picks up the energy with the chunky beats and deep bass of ‘Metadome,’ and concludes with high-octane face melter 'Slab,' which throws tech-breaks, dark garage and jungle/hardcore vibes into the pot. A highly talented artist who has grown to make a notable impression amongst the scene’s most revered tastemakers, DJ/producer and label owner Jhobei is an individual who continues to blossom. His deep, expansive sound has already welcomed material on Up The Stuss, Limousine Dream, Mindhelmet and Picnic Records, amongst others, while featuring as a co-founder of London-based collective and label Bizarre Trax. In addition, his work as one-third of dynamic trio Felon5, coupled with his unique sound, has taken him from Albania’s ION Festival to Los Angeles, alongside making a handful of appearances for Fuse and its sister brands on home turf at fabric, The Cause and Village Underground - plus 2024’s Open Air event at Barking Park earlier this year. Building on that relationship, late September brings fresh music as Enzo Siragusa invites the exciting selector to make his label debut with an array of impressive productions across his ‘Age Of Virality’ EP. A-side opener ‘Swarming’ is all action and kicks things off with authority as a snaking bassline guides a garage-influenced trip through bumping low-ends and hooky vocal samples, while ‘Machine Language’ delivers a mix of playful tones amongst sweeping melodies while delivering a heavy dose of robot funk. On the flip, ‘Defusion Solution’ is a heady late-night excursion through skippy percussion and cosmic tones, with ‘Rising Sun’ stripping things back to deliver a classy, hazy journey as organic percussion grooves unravel effortlessly. deadbeat Records are back with an EP from Dawn Razor. Five tracks of varying styles, including a rare remix from the elusive Kovyazin D. EP title track Sixteen is an ethereal affair - designed to sweep you away on a wave of joyous confusion. One for the twilight hours. The A2 is a remix of Sixteen by veteran producer Kovyazin D - a chugging electro house banger which you can expect to be hearing lots over the coming months. Panomatic Mono is a rumbling breakbeat affair with bass that will knock your socks off, while Good Old Days chugs and sputters its way into the wee hours. Only 150 records were pressed - they'll go fast.

Objekt launches his new label, Kapsela, with a 10-year anniversary reissue of his lauded production ‘Ganzfeld’. An ambitious, evocative electro/IDM epic with cavernous drums and a riotously funky bass solo, Ganzfeld was initially released in 2014 on Leisure System as the B-side of Hypnagogia, a split EP with Detroit electro pioneers Dopplereffekt. It quickly garnered critical acclaim (including Track Of The Year by Resident Advisor) and amassed a cult following despite clocking in at 147bpm, a relatively unwieldy tempo for most DJs at the time. Given the seismic shifts in tempo and genre that have taken place in the 10 years since and the emergence of a new generation of producers with whom Ganzfeld’s influence has resonated, 2024 seemed like the perfect moment for a re-release. Commissioning remixes for the first time, Objekt enlists Djrum, who delivers a jaw-dropping 10-minute rendition which weaves through multiple genres and tempos with the cinematic flair of a short film score. Milan’s Piezo contributes a taut, prickly interpretation that builds tension at 80bpm before exploding into a cathartic double-time closer. Finally, US ambient artist Ulla fully deconstructs the original into a serene, undulating lullaby. The vinyl comes with a free lossless download. Rising Star Pach gets his first release on Darius Syrossian’s Moxy Muzik label. The 12 inch vinyl also has a tasty remix by the king of the original minimal sound, American born & Berlin based Jay Haze, who takes things as stripped back and raw as they come. Syrossian completes the package taking things on a more deep chunky vibe tinged with garage influences.

Garage Hermétique continues to explore the musical world of its esteemed producer Views, once again showcasing his unique oriental-influenced, punchy, melancholic vibe. The record also includes a remix of a still unreleased Views track by label owner Onirik.

Despite presumably being insanely busy A&Ring for all his many labels, which put out music at a high rate of release, Burnski does also still find time to make his own music. And it's top tackle too, whatever he tries, from garage to ambient. To kick off with here the Northern rock cooks up a super breezy and Balearic-tinged house tune that you can imagine playing at some vibey Ibiza sunset party. That's probably why he called it 'Summer 23' to be honest. On the flip, 'Afters' gets more chunky and tribal, with tight and pinging drums and that sort of wide-eyed, tongues-out energy that gets the freaks going.

Four new tracks from Eb Flow mark the latest release from the ever prolific Constant Sound label, as ever providing solid and dependable dancefloor gear that boasts a myriad of different flavours. 'Sunshine' wastes no time setting up a strutting, Van Helden-esque groove and lets it roll, adding a few vaguely nostalgic samples on top. 'Running' has more of a breaks feel, harking back to the days of rave's roots when breaks and acid could sit together naturally rather than in different genre pigeonholes. 'Before' is the most minimal of the four, peppered with frisky garage snares and a subtle but ultimately devastating filter breakdown, while a feelgood gospel-style vocal gives the closer, 'Searching', a lovely optimistic tint. Constant Sound continue to deliver.

Following up on his much acclaimed debut album ‘Opal’ released in 2022, Batu heads into a new year introducing A Long Strange Dream : a new imprint dedicated to his spontaneous musical explorations, conceived with the aim to follow curiosities and share his own music in a back-to-basics and spontaneous fashion. Carl Craig will present an album adaptation of his widely acclaimed "Versus" live performance.

"Versus" originally premiered in 2008, with a live debut at La Cité de La Musique, Paris, where Carl Craig was joined by Les Siècles orchestra conducted by François-Xavier Roth, Moritz von Oswald, and Francesco Tristano, who arranged and orchestrated all the tracks. The performance, one of the first of its kind to combine electronic and classical composition, received five standing ovations and had over one million views online of the original filmed recording. Produced by Carl Craig, the Versus album mixes both orchestral and electronically enhanced versions of Carl Craig’s music in a techno collection of eight tracks adapted for orchestra.

Canadian born, Berlin based producer Aquarian debuts on Dekmantel Records’ UFO imprint with Mutations I & II, a series of two EPs following his debut album The Snake That Eats Itself and his collaborative records as Aqxdm. The original version of this gorgeous schlager techno track, released in august 2001 on Kompakt's Total 3, would put a smile on a lot of people's faces. Apart from the reworked original version, you'll get two sensational remixes: The one from Frankfurt's high-aesthete, super hipster, club- and label-owner with a three-letter name: Ata. Since the very beginning, his Playhouse label has always been a guarantee for finest German House music. It's his first (!) remix ever and his first studio work since the legendary first Playhouse release 'Holy Garage' in 1993. The 'Playhouse Mix' turns the original version into a mega-hip, late-night monster and reminds a bit of the great Larry Levan and Metro Area's congenious adaption of early-80s disco music. The 'Robert Johnson' club is going down on its knees. Wonderful. The other remix comes from one of Kompakt's in-house pioneers of pop ambient: it's Olaf Dettinger. Who didn't want to miss this chance and has interrupted his creative pause only for doing this wonderful 'Moonlight Mix'. Dettinger's cosy hi-tech sounds and Sonja Luebke's seraphic voice, both singing a duet to the moon. Very, very beautiful, indeed.

Carl Cox & Commix remix Radio Slave’s ‘Stay Out All Night’. Initially released in 2020 via his own Rekids, ‘Stay Out All Night’ is one of Radio Slave’s biggest tracks todate, alongside timeless cuts such as ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, and ‘Another Club’. Recruiting Carl Cox & Commix for remix duties, ‘Stay Out All Night (Remixes)’ sees two varied dancefloor-focused revisions drop this February on 12”. Leading the pack, Carl Cox steps up to the plate fresh from the release of his ‘Oh yes, oh yes!’ book. The People’s Choice delivers a lively 4/4 interpretation, flipping the syncopated breaks of the original into astomping blend of house and techno destined for dancefloor decimation. Following on is Metalheadz affiliate Commix, taking a break from his usual brand of flawless Drum & Bass to flip the original into a fresh UK Garage cut.
