Dod yn ôl at fy nghoed (which is Welsh for ‘to return to my trees’ meaning to return to balanced state of mind) sees Steevio experimenting with deep, broken-beat bass techno awash with polymetric rhythms and jazz infused chord structures. Steevio’s musical approach has in recent years become more free-form, with loose mathematical frameworks, evading clear generic boundaries, and this release continues and expands on that theme. Vol. 2 progresses into slightly darker territory than Vol.1 reflecting the times, but also takes on a more spacey feel. All tracks were recorded live and improvised from a blank canvas in real-time on an analogue modular synthesizer.

Switzerland’s Adam’s Bite welcomes Romanian artist Lumieux onto its roster this July with the ‘When I Think Of You’ EP. Hailing for the Romanian capital of Bucharest, Lumieux is one of many artists coming out of this region and defining a style that’s driven by stripped-back percussion, subtle nuance and detailed intricacies. Lumieux’s productions have found a home on the likes of Subtil Records, Antrakt, Dissonant and Uvar among others, while as a DJ he operates a core member of the prized Sunrise Agency out of Romania. Here though, we see Lumieux delivering his latest EP for Adam’s Bite, following recent material from IULY.B, Flabbergast and Audio Werner. ‘Psycho’ leads the EP, laid out across nine and a half minutes with murky dub chords, fluttering bass tones and choppy vocals intertwined with a swinging drum groove. ‘Tifosi’ follows and retains a similar aesthetic, bringing choppy stab sequences and wandering bass licks to the forefront, underpinned by shuffled modulating percussion and crisp drums. ‘What You Are To Me’ opens the B-side next, stripping things back to twitchy acid tinged synths, hypnotic vocal lines and vocoded voices while bumpy delayed tom toms, weighty kicks and congas subtly evolve and unfold throughout. Lastly ‘Nebula’ rounds out the EP, employing a plucked stab-led bass groove at its core alongside expansive delayed atmospherics and a crunchy saturated rhythm.

An exercise in control of auditory limitations and possibilities, GAEL redefines techno production with their comprehension of cold atmospherics and meticulous world building. Exemplified in their first solo EP ‘Frozen White Horse’ released on BITE Records, fervent, hurtling drums are underpinned by hopeful euphorics and circulating, breathy cybernetics. A culmination of sophisticated sonic dialects reared from the intersections of soundscaping and electronic music, the berlin-based DJ/Producer from Dagestan (by-way-of Kyiv and Odesa) commits their practice to the inclusivity of borderless, capricious and emotive dance- floor synergy. This energy was previously captured on BITE last year with their appearances on the Shedding Skin VA and The Soft Moon’s Exister Remixed. GAEL’s harmonic and organic approach to techno production echoes the heartbeat of dancefloor resistance,captivating audiences across venues from Berlin’s Berghain to Kyiv’s ∄ as a resident at the queer event series XITb. Delivering thunderous feeling through experimental sounds and masterful pacing, the 4-track-EP blurs the margins of moody techno exploration with remarkable attitude and a foreboding sense of uphill struggle. For the opening title track, a procession of stacked chords,synths and snares are met with a cyclone of galloping percussion building to maximum intensity until dispersing into echoey chimes. As the listener is able to catch their breath, the second track ‘prpttcxsstnc’ reignites - this time with trepidatious yet ethereal vibration, as the track continues to inject GAEL’s post-punk style of galvanised energy, rich layered drums maintain the undercurrent of resolute chaos into the following track ‘there is nothing left’. Sombre track titles are off-set by triumphant vigour for the third instalment, pushing through gale force drums and the clanging zaps and bleeps of electronic debris. Concluding with the final cacophony of collaged beats and drums, bellowing siren-like cold wails meld with GAEL’s calamity crescendo of crashing cymbals, the procession of rapturous drums slipping into a distant echo of warped hollow gleams.

The music coming from Vrsion & Nikol’s collaboration captured our attention from the very first listen. With this tenth O.C.D release, we strive to showcase timeless music that we feel will be appreciated as much now as well into the future.

Together they are ‘Body Copy’, a collaborative project between two artists which blossomed in Leeds. Gavin Herlihy (Vrsion), a name that won’t be new to those who were around the early 2000s when he was releasing his music with the most interesting labels of the time and lately on Craig Richard’s The Nothing Special label.

Chris Nicholls (Nikol), resident of the Leeds-Barcelona project MASS has taken steps into his production career with promising results on their first record. For us, this EP has a very special flavour, expressing darker tones compared to the latest EPs on the label.

Bait is a label run by Beatrice M that has built up a fine following for its digital releases and has also now made the successful move to vinyl. Sub Basics is next up and is a key UK figure in the deep dubstep scene who has had big support for his tunes on the likes of Lion Charge, Foundation Audio and Juan Forte from Ben U.F.O. and Kia. First up he links with Toura for the liquid rhythms of 'Cause' while 'Effect' gets more prickly with a ticking lead synth and deep underwater dub vibes. 'Call' brings some deft melody and more trance-inducing grooves while closer 'Response' is a nice and punchy dub techno cut with ice-cold hi-hats.

Parti-Pillz is back as Anthea shares four commanding cuts from promising talent Paddy Lee. The UK-based producer is quickly cementing himself as one to watch and the “Four Sides” EP gives a certain nod of approval of exactly that. Fresh off the back of their 2022 debut album ‘Your Last Everything’, Soft Crash present their latest 4 track EP ‘nrg’, chronicling their synonymous surrealist visuals infused with the contagious punch of Italo and Synth-wave. Geared towards the dancefloor from a fresh perspective, Bozzi and Payne pull from their respective wheelhouses to curate a sound additionally influenced by Wave-Pop, Acid House and Post-Punk sensibilities.

Procuring their cerebral yet zealous indentation of dance music, the EP features sanguine vocals from Kyiv-based singer and musician Ready in LED on the first single ‘Free Yourself’. She comments about the track “I became captivated instantly with the idea of the track that Hayden and Pablo sent me. At that moment, I was a bit tired of carefree disco and wanted to reveal my dark side in music. The demo sounded very daring. This track demands attention to itself from the first seconds. My sources of inspiration were glam rock and grunge. I had a blast in the studio, and I hope the people on the dance floors will feel that energy too.”

While full throttle vitality and booming grooves on the title track ‘nrg’ showcase Soft Crash’s take on 90’s sample-filled techno. Closing the extended play with an updated cut of the bewitching ‘Your Last Everything’, featuring Canadian musician and producer Marie Davidson, Soft Crash breathe a new life into the namesake track from their preceding album, concluding with an additional remix of the track by cult favourite producer Alen Skanner. The intrinsic dance floor vigour emulated in NRG further fleshes-out the pair’s recognisable DNA of nurturing a revitalised techno sound, cementing them as pioneers of the Italo Body genre.

Nobu welcomes Japanese sound artist Doltz to his Bitta imprint for a full pack of hypnotic techno. Doltz started his musical career in 1998 as a drummer in a hardcore punk band, and had a fateful encounter with DJ Nobu, who shares the same musical roots, when they were billed alongside each other at a party called 'Broad' in Fukuoka-city in the winter of 2022. Impressed by Doltz's live performance, DJ Nobu immediately booked him for his residency party 'reprise' at Womb Tokyo. Set the stage for Doltz's sensational debut in Tokyo. The two hit it off and began exchanging tracks, with DJ Nobu actively playing out Doltz's tracks while touring across the world and receiving a good response. This first EP on Bitta consists of four of such tracks that were tested and proven. Doltz has already released several deeper techno and ambient works under the alias, but his encounter with DJ Nobu has allowed him to show his new potential on trippy and powerful tracks that are more dancefloor-oriented, and he has made rapid progress as an electronic music producer over the past year. We're always glad to hear new material from undisputed dub techno don Steve O'Sullivan. This new one on his own Mosiac label finds him facing off with Paul Simmons on a pair of deliciously deep cuts. 'Inner Glow' is given the whole of the A-side to make its mark and it does - with a slightly more soulful sound than you might expect. Rather than pure heads down underwater deepness, it's got a heart warming vocals hook and brighter chord vamps over the signature drum smoothness. 'Stilll Burnin''is a quicker cut with more radiant chords and a soulful spirit, then a Bluespirit dub of the a-side zones things out nicely.

Legendary German techno duo Pan-Pot announce the brand new project "forte", a collection of ten singles. Each track tells its own unique story, influenced by the duo's ever-evolving sound over the years - something that has always kept Pan-Pot relevant. This highlight also marks a milestone 20th anniversary for the duo and serves as a resounding reminder of why they have been at the forefront of the scene for over two decades.

Building on their shared exploration of forward-leaning UK club sounds, EM + Stav herald the arrival of their new label JoyLift with the Endless EP. Having entrenched themselves within the free-spirited landscape of Bristol’s music community, the pair home in on a focused sound which draws on the city’s storied bass mutations as a springboard for their own take on modernist dance music.

There’s a tough, brooding quality to Endless EP which speaks to the meditative pressure of soundsystem immersion, but equally EM + Stav build out evocative, shifting narratives within that club-ready framework. From dubwise processing to deft sound design, a broad church of processes are wielded to shape out these pieces, and physicality comes in many forms whether in weightless sub lines or pointed, angular drum programming. Given their long-standing connection to developments within the underground music scene, there’s a keen instinct for the dynamic shifts which can set a dance alight, while the ill- defined shape of the wider genre-not-genre allows plenty of space for movement and experimentation.

Alongside the three original productions from EM + Stav, kindred spirit Forest Drive West steps up for a remix of ‘Odd' which aligns with the aesthetic intentions of JoyLift while demonstrating the idiosyncratic qualities associated with the scene’s most vital artists. The cohesive feel of Endless EP extends to Luke Griffin’s artwork, in which natural source material undergoes heavy processing to wind up in a striking new form, shot through with colour but ultimately shrouded in a moodiness that harks back through the lineage of hardcore-rooted UK dance music.

By its very nature the future is unwritten for JoyLift, but EM + Stav’s new project commits itself to an ever-evolving palette of sound, rendered as music with a strong sense of identity - tracks to shake the dance without resorting to obvious tropes, responding to and feeding into the inspiring tides of ideas emanating from the environment around them.

Forging acclaim for their fiercely unrelenting sound production, New Frames are no stranger to shattering the parameters and caveats within electronic music with their masterfully curated approach to chaos. The collaborative project of Berlin-based David Frisch and Mathis Mootz (aka The Panacea) sees the duo engineer their hybridised palette of maximalist yet modular techno music in both their DJ and live sets. Pulling influence directly from dance floors both contemporary and from raving's genesis, New Frames' all encompassing signature of ferociously layered sonic weaponry promises to leave no stragglers in their wake. Presenting their debut double long player 'Scherben' - the body of work demonstrates the pair's eclectic merging of cataclysmic pure and raw techno, ominous vocals and distorted sound design across the eight track LP. Nimble mixing interbreeds New Frames' quintessential cacophony of instrumentation, laminated with bombastic drum-beats and carnal vigour. Additionally with appearances from Eva Vuillemin, fellow BITE Records protagonist Omon Breaker as well as label co-founder Phase Fatale, the album comes as a natural progression following two previous EP releases on BITE as well as featuring on the labels fifth anniversary compilation record 'Shedding Skin' .

After a few months break from releases to focus on building the Family at Suena Agency, Suena Hermosa is back with all the force. With a fierce list of immense releases to come this year and next from the likes of some of the worlds most sought after and respected, exciting creators. First up is this beauty from one of the label’s dearest friends and truly gifted producers, the one and only Steve Hammer (Italy) ... This debut solo EP is a glowing example of this artist's immense talent. 'Song of the Sirens' EP is an impeccable collection of the artist’s works, featuring three classic original grooves which take the listener on an irresistible journey through an array of minimal / house with seriously classy touch of our label's trademark splash of acid… The Artist has created a collection of grooves worthy of a place in every record bag for every occasion. This impeccable EP includes a fourth track blessed by the label/agency’s very own Nicola Brusegan (Italy), on a stunner of an energetic, melodic and groove driven remix.

We are proud to receive sci fi techno maestro Orbe onboard with this limited edition four cut vinyl.

This sublime space travel begins with Nanometre, starting in an opaque mood, with all the components filtered and growing from below during the hypnotic arrangement.

Synchburst is the second cut on the main side, with shuffled rhythms surrounded by microscopic percussive details and microdrones. The sequences are spiced with laser beams from time to time interrupting the mantra and bringing dynamics to the dance floor.

B side starts with Capacitance, going gummy and elastic, keeping the elements minimal and playing intelligently with the groove and his usual alien sound palette.

Final cut is Eeprom, an electric soundtrack to non gravity: repetitive, mental and as always full of sonic details that add spice to the illusion of staticity.

Fernando Sanz, also known as Orbe is one of the key producers in the sci-fi techno realm, respected worldwide due to his very personal sound cooked with his incredible modular arsenal.

Omon Breaker aka Maksym Nazarov is a DJ and musician who grew up in Kyiv, Ukraine originally from Dnipro. Now he presents his first ever full EP, Compromat, that traverses from cyberpunk dancefloor techno to trance-like work outs and wave inflected anthems including a special appearance from labelhead Phase Fatale. In his early works, he delved into questions of electronic culture and its impact on his life. As a result of his musical development and his quest for forging his own sound image defined by breakbeats and grooves reminiscent of early 90s electronica combined with the edge of modern techno, he released his first vinyl split 12" with D.Dan on Standard Deviation - the label from the ? club in 2021. Meanwhile, he quickly established his DJ path in Ukraine as a skilled performer, even becoming a resident at Kyiv's first Lgbtq+ friendly club Crest. Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Nazarov was forced to leave his home and relocate to Berlin. In this new city, he came under the wing of Bite where he debuted with his track 'Stinger' from their recent VA and played the label showcase at Berghain in April 2023. While acclimatising and reflecting on his intense life experiences, Omon Breaker began work on his EP in which he seeks to express his emotions brought on by the tragic situations in his life: the loss of home, loved ones, and love itself. Compromat is Nazarov's first solo vinyl release where he attempts to musically depict his inner world shaped by the tragedies in his life.

In its first release on vinyl, Art Imagination brings this 180-gram disc in transparent blue with four new tracks, three of them signed by the Brazilian Fabiano Pit and an incredible remix by the German Beatamines. The tracks have an organic sound and beautiful melodies. The cover art is signed by the artist, Luis de Souza, in a painting in oil and acrylic on canvas

From Martyn and Steffi: "A common thread in our friendship and collaborations is that we’ve always been enthusiastic about discovering new and old music and sharing our findings with each other. In our approach for Air Texture the aim was to reflect that joy, and compile a set of tracks by both established producers and new talent, each with their own unique interpretations of a leftfield, non linear aesthetic."

Hypnotic sunrise starts as it means to go on with a debut outing from the noisy neighbors, Bad Flatmates (Tzena & Dea). Three originals from the dynamic duo, and a remix from Bizarre Trax beatmaker oliver.r. Mysterious tales of curiosity, maneuvering between stripped back sounds, and otherworldly textures. Sitting firmly as the A1 is “Major Minor”, bubbling synths teasing you towards the chugging drive of the track, meticulously arranged to create a well rounded trip. Felon5 member oliver.r addresses a more housey direction with his remix, cruising on an elastic groove implementing the blissful pads from the original. Shuffling drums lead the way in “Chemicals Between Us” conversing with the shimmering elements, rounding off the EP is further mind stretching material in the form of “Lepa Igra”. It is a project borne out of a personal history with electronic music spanning over two decades long, melting his influences and ambitions into a single piece. Throughout the albums runtime, we are invited to rediscover trace memories of starry-eyed nights of yore. We find nods to big beat and electropop, acid, breaks and trance. All over, big basslines recall the sweaty basement jams Martinesque grew to love. Everything tied up and strapped down tight by the slamming house derivates the man has built his name on. This is a set of transcendent tools dreamt up the morning after. This is packaged and presented to invite receptors to rearrange, reshape, recompile. This is the sum of its parts, and parts might differ.

Following up on his much acclaimed debut album ‘Opal’ released in 2022, Batu heads into a new year introducing A Long Strange Dream : a new imprint dedicated to his spontaneous musical explorations, conceived with the aim to follow curiosities and share his own music in a back-to-basics and spontaneous fashion. The inaugural release « For Spirits » is packed with some of the Bristol based producer’s most psychedelic dancefloor studies to date.
