A mainstay of the UK's reggae, soul, funk & rock circuits since the early 1970s, Eddie Capone has played with a diverse and revered collection of acts; Chairmen of the Board, The Foundations, Black Velvet, The Elgins, Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come, Arthur Lee's Love, Billy Preston and Edwin Starr to name but a few. Eddie was also part of short-lived group Casablanca, with David Costa & Barry Clarke of early 70's folk-rockers Trees, signed to Elton John's Rocket Record Company.
Eddie founded the Treatment band in the early 1980s bringing in a revolving cast of singers and players, and created the Treatment Records imprint out of his own Black Rock studio in South East London in 1982. Releasing a string of singles - with efforts from Eddie Capone's Treatment, a side-project with singer Beryl Marsden as Salt & Pepper, and a single from Norwegian group Wave - Treatment Records then followed this up in 1985 with the 12" release of "I Won't Give You Up" with Diane Jones brought in on vocal duties. This received solid support amongst DJs and radio at the time, and was quickly followed with this solid slice of white label-only UK boogie-funk that has since become a favoured deep cut on the selectors circuit.
Treatment Records continued through the 1980s through to early 1990s releasing Eddie's music, both as a solo artist and as part of collaborative side-projects, and Eddie has continued to write, perform and produce music from his home studio right through to the present day. As a committed community figure & activist in South East London, Eddie has since 2014 re-started Treatment Records under the name of 3G Treatment - bringing together three generations of people from the local area to ensure young artists & musicians have access to the expertise and experience of their elders for support and encourage successful careers in the industry.

London based label Natural Selection present their forthcoming release in the form of a 4-track 12" EP, courtesy of Annie Hall, entitled "Atomic 20", ft. remixes from label affiliates Plant43 & Kodah. Mastered by Dadub Studios, Berlin and cut by Simon at The Exchange Vinyl.

Born in Madrid, Annie Hall has been heavily active on the Electronica, IDM and Detroit circuits since 2007 and has seen her music released by the most highly esteemed of Electro labels such as Central Processing Unit, Delsin Records, 20/20 Vision, Detroit Underground, Semantica & more. She returns to Natural Selection, after releasing on 3 previous occasions since the label's inaugural release in 2021. Her track 'Panax Ginseng' (ns001) gained support from some of the most respected DJ's and producers worldwide, inc. Dave Clarke, The Advent, Nullptr & more.

Atomic 20 is a beautifully crafted Electro release that maintains venomous aggression, amidst breathtaking textures and ambience. Hypnotic pads spiral into the ether, contrasted alongside heavy kicks, deep bass and meticulously programmed percussion patterns. Byo-Jo Recordings presents "The Way Back Forward (Volume 2)" the final record by Caution!Horses, slated for release on Monday, September 16, 2024. The brainchild of Andrew Odia, also known as Caution!Horses, this album marks a pivotal moment in the artist's eclectic journey through electronic music. It seamlessly blends Detroit electronic sounds with the unique cultural flair of Manchester’s Shudehill.

This release follows the critically acclaimed first volume and delves deeper into the intersection of classical music influences and modern electronic experimentation. With a track list that includes the juxta positioned Funk of "Angelfun(k)" and "Renewal", and the contradictory "Summer Holiday", each piece is a testament to Odia’s unique take on Detroit's synthetic roots.

Caution!Horses, raised on classical music and Radio 3, has honed a unique sound through years of diverse musical influences. Early indie favourites like New Order and The Fall, and electronic pioneers such as Propaganda and Cabaret Voltaire, have all played a part in shaping his musical ethos. Of course pop that bad boy in a working machine and see what's on it! Enlightened by tracks that he hadn't heard in over 20-25 years, he's excited to share these once forgotten tracks with the world! Label boss Ste Roberts makes his debut on his imprint Private Parts, and he has invited his favorite Dutch duo the Young Adults along for the ride. X-Change Of Parts Vol 1 brings one original track from each artist, and then remixed by each other. Kicking off the EP with the quirky and twisted minimal throbber of Brain Freeze. Fun and ideal to wig out any dancefloor in those early hours. Young Adults with a perfect remix, maintaining all the fun for a heads down shuffle. A cheeky toast-apella to round of the A. On The flip, you have Young Adults ramping up the tempo, and delivering some incredibly funky tech. This sounds like it could be 20 years old, timeless stuff. Rounding off the EP Ste Roberts twists things up with a pulsating bass heavy Electro remix.

Following a string of releases on a who’s who of top labels such as Planet Euphorique, Salt Mines, Haws and Craigie Knowes, prog-trance pioneer Lisene drops a full-length LP on his On Rotation imprint. With 8 hyper-detailed tracks ranging from club-focused techno, progressive and electro to slo-mo downtempo, Lisene brings his A-game to an album sure to cement his place as one of the most exciting producers and DJs in the UK’s underground music scene.

Italian producer Heinrich Dressel is off to a strong start in 2024, with a first release on Italian label Bordelo A Parigi, and now on Paris sublabel Distrikt, Serenity In Keos, with a more electro-club-oriented ep.

Following in the form of his last outing on Baroque Sunburst, the Italian percussive virtuoso delivers three wholly uncategorizable, tripped out drum workouts. Both frentic and hypnotic, these rhythms roll and snap into jagged grooves that leave dark basement dance-floor walls imprinted with the stains of psychic and somatic revelry.

Much time has passed since the Queer Australian/Italian-Armenian, multifaceted artist, Kristian Bahoudian aka Kris Baha, swapped the parched red earth and searing midday sun of the Australian landscape for the brutalist communist-era apartment blocks and slate-grey skies of former East Berlin. Kris is now a fixture in Berlin’s club scene and has toured most of the world as a DJ & live artist with his own unique production style of cyber industrial, EBM, wave, post punk, and early ‘90s IDM mutations. Remixing some of the scene’s most notable artists such as Boy Harsher and techno pop lord Boys Noize, Kris has garnered respect and trust in the electronic music scene for the last 13 years. Zillas on Acid don’t hold back on their Neubau debut release, offering four brute tracks that could easily also work for soundtracking a dystopian science fiction movie.

The prolific and versatile Ian Martin arrives on Shipwrec with four tracks that make up Future Dawn. Cosmic Garden opens. A piece that blurs genre lines; soft synth-lines are coupled with ruffled rhythms that immerse the listener in gentle orchestral ebbs and flows. Sounds of isolation introduce Future Dawn, modulations reaching over an ever-widening expanse before strings descend. Drums arrive late in this atmospheric journey, one that pulses with a primal energy while conjuring vivid images. The ominously titled Dead Calm opens the flip. Soundtracks have always been an inspiration for Martin and the scores of the silver screen are at the forefront of this work. Brittle beat patterns are the bedrock on which melodies whirl - a bitter acid bass bubbling as tension builds to paranoic peaks. Darker skies loom with the marine chop of Phantom Machine finishing. A flotsam and jetsam of hi hats swirl in the liquid undulations of distorted bass and aquatic echoes, rougher rusted rhythms providing ballast to the eddies and maelstrom of Martin's machines.

« Curiositi » is the work of Nicolas Cueille, French composer and multi-instrumentalist. Over the last fifteen years, he has been very active dabbler in music notably as a musician: Pyjamarama, La Colonie De Vacances to name very few and as the co-founder of Presque Tout, an ongoing net archive of sonic landscapes from all around the world. As for as name-dropping goes, “Curiositi” is Brian Eno and Moondog getting together to write the soundtrack to a new season of “Scavengers Reign”. Some will find nods to Laurie Spiegel or Haruomi Hosono, will probably want to watch scenes from « 2001 A Space Odyssey» and cuddle up with « Keyboard Fantasies » by Beverly Glen Copeland. Minimal in the making yet massively thought provoking in its impact, a mirror effect as playful and demanding, as synthetic and poetic. This is such a cozy place. Why would you leave?

Cultivated Electronics starts off its 2024 release schedule with an all electro family affair from father and son duo The Advent and Zein Ferreira. "Elektronically Minded EP" is the first of two releases scheduled on the label from them this year. For this first instalment the pair turn in two tracks of expertly crafted production that pays homage to the history of the genre with their own modern twist. The A side's "Basic Channeling" is given remix treatment from Robert Witchoski a.k.a. The Exaltics who steps up the gears with a 4/4-esqe rework in his signature style. Cyphon Recordings continue their remarkable run of form with a brand new six track mini LP from Aussie powerhouse Ewan Jansen. With three decades of experience permeating his productions, Chroma Sea is a signature Jansen voyage - crisp, colourful, groove-heavy house and techno anchored by an analog weight.

A veteran of the scene, Jansen cut his teeth in the early '90s producing hardware-saturated house music drenched in depth and feeling. Having released on the likes of Moods & Grooves, Going Good, Freerange and Butter Sessions across the years, he’s also been captaining his own label Red Ember Records since 1997.

Leading the Chorma Sea odyssey is 'Salt Circuit', a squelching '90s tech house leaning track with a Detroit influenced touch, where bounce and power balance expertly with intricate synthwork and synapse-firing breakdowns.

'Brinewave' and 'Cybercanisco' follow, the former a head pickling, bass heavy, atmospheric electro joint. The latter a blinding yet blissful, Motor City channelling techno creation, that burrows deep down into your soul.

On the flip, 'Hydronexus' swallows you up in with a hit of absorbing space-age techno that envelopes your brain in layer upon layer of tactile sounds, before 'Faulty Gelfling' fires you out the other side into a twisted, robo electro hyperspace.

Closing out the release and bringing you back down to earth, 'Surabaya', where soft pads swell and oscillating synths wash over you, as that grooving low-end just keeps on rolling. The Chroma Sea release expertly illustrates Ewan Jansen's ability to craft a vibrant blend of house and techno that nods across the ocean to the US and Europe, yet grounds itself down under. “Illegal Rave Tapes” is the first ever wax treatment for Acrelid, courtesy of Dance Data Records. Originally comprised of 134 tracks, this distilled selection by label head Dreams is a snapshot of John Lee Richardson’s archive of music from between 1999-2012. Since the ripe age of 12, he’s been drawing inspiration from the UK rave scene in the 90’s that he found himself in. That spark was the beginning of a lifelong obsession. He set out to capture the essence of what he felt and saw surrounding him during that time; whether it was via recording loops out of a playstation 1 to cassette / CD or borrowing any other gear he could get his hands on / that people would lend him. Moxie’s On Loop imprint proudly presents ‘Manifold’, the highly anticipated debut solo EP from Amaliah. The rising Londoner delivers on her burgeoning ravey promise, unleashing a remarkable trio of percussive club tracks that link UK house aesthetics with global soundsystem influences, and comes with a wonderfully knotty remix from celebrated producer Call Super.

Borne Fruits founder Amaliah has rightfully ascended through the musical ranks of her native city to emerge as one of its most exciting voices. As a DJ and producer, she intersects at the exhilarating crossroads of contemporary house sounds, soundsystem culture and UK club influences to packed dancefloors weekly across the UK and EU. Opening track “Helix” curls a percussive membrane around its funky core, pumping along with nocturnal rave menace punctured by sirens and grotty synths. Waajeed’s 2022 long player, Memoirs of Hi-Tech Jazz, was an aural love letter to his hometown of Detroit; an amalgam of the city’s history, coalescing the personal, political and, of course, musical past.

From the Motown soul assembly line to J Dilla’s musically dense Hip-Hop to The Stooges’ proto-Punk to the birth of Techno, the music of the Motor City has spread across the globe inspiring countless artists who in turn went on to create their own forms and genres.

Emulating this movement and transmutation, the Memoirs of Hi-Tech Jazz Remixes 12” sees artists from three continents repurpose elements from across the LP, transforming them into productions stamped with their own trademark styles whilst retaining the spirit of each original:

the UK’s Mark Broom loops sections of Right Now while speeding up the BPM for a classic UK-style techno remix; Ghana-born Yazzus takes on The Ballad of Robert O’Bryant adding a surprising number of twists and turns for a five-and-a-half-minute piece; Australians Jensen Interceptor and Assembler Code close the 12” out with their take on the album’s title and opening track neatly closing the loop, bringing us full circle to the start of the LP.

Dead Fader returns with new EP ‘Sun Copter’, which precedes a forthcoming full length album. ‘Sun Copter’ introduces a new sound as Dead Fader’s pallet gains new range and depths; using analogue technologies in conjunction with the digital techniques he is well known for. Dead Fader is the alter ego of John Cohen, former Brighton resident, now in Berlin, who has worked relentlessly since 2007 to realise his vision of electronic music. His tracks are characterised by pioneering sound explorations, which on one hand oscillate between sonic extremities and on the other hand carefully craft cinema-scope sound worlds.
