Nørus & Dj Whipr Snipr team up for the electro-tinged ‘Sporthsgoth’ this October on Nerang Recordings. Queensland based DJ/producer and label head Dj Whipr Snipr has been running Nerang Recordings since 2016, putting out music from the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Subjoi, DJ Swagger, DJ Bowlcut, J. Albert, Cassettes For Kids, and many more since its inception.

Collins Dictionary Example sentence: „Other ocular signs include involuntary rhythmic movement of the eyeball.“ Someone in the editorial department wasn‘t paying attention and involuntarily spoke a deeply buried truth: The movement from the eye to rhythm and from there to sound is sometimes a small, puny one. Now Infuso Giallo provides the proof at the same time and implements his live show for last year‘s debut album „Ocular Soda“ as an audio-visual show, as intertwined senses. Visible sound, audible images. Such ideas only last when they are put to the test and scrutinised by several experts.

The duo Globus, which consists of 2/5 of the post-hardcore band Pttrns, examines the synth hook of the second part of the double-opener „Every Waking Hour Pt.2“ by playing it, varying it, letting it sway.

In contrast, Anatolian Weapons from Athens can‘t help but immerse the ambient, Soft Machine-production-like first minutes of „Every Waking Hour Pt.1“ in a sinister black light. Staggering into a basement club filled with nocturnal shadow people and indulge in carousing. Cautiously at first, then more and more determinedly.

From Hamburg and Berlin, the „Mole Gaze“ gets a special treatment. The trio Love-Songs drags the number off to Hamburg harbour, packs it onto a steamer, deep into the bow and lets it operate the sonar there. Conrad Schnitzler would have been delighted. Infuso Giallo, meanwhile, realises that there is nothing more boring than standing still, so he revamps „Hello World“ and gives it a rear spoiler that keeps this number in lane even at club speed. Speaking of „keeping in lane“: Niklas Wandt, the magician, doesn‘t even try such tricks. He simply throws an acid bolt on the closer „Ocular Soda“ and waits to see what happens. Alongside breakbeats from nowhere, Albert Hoffmann himself appears on a bicycle. „Ocular Soda Remixes“ is the first tape on the Kame House label, so there‘s only one thing to do: open your eyes and listen!

Cody Chesnutt’s Headphone Masterpiece is a core work in the WotNot inspiration book. Put that release through Google Deep Dream and Isayahh Wuddha’s Urban Brew is what you end up with. Recorded in Kyoto to multitrack tape recorder with vintage drum machines, guitars and Casio keyboard, the result is an eddying blend of lo-fi soulful indie, funk, rock and psychedelia.
The release is led by Wuddha’s strange but alluring vocal delivery, moving between tender-to-the-point-of-breaking any-second, almost-apathetic-semi-rapping and friendly conversational with the occasional James Brown scream dotted around.
While the music ranges from lively to ballad-esque, there is a sense of fun and playfulness throughout, enhanced by the raw, slapped-together production style.
With roots in Taiwan and Japan, Kyoto’s Isayahh Wuddha counts avant garde saxophonists Albert Ayler and Kaoru Abe among his early influences, but attributes his decision to make and release music to reading Michael Jackson’s biography!

The Pulse Projects is the moniker of Albert van Abbe's electro-focused venture. His forthcoming release on Patron Records leans heavily on the gritty and murky sound that we know from the versed producer/DJ, who has been around for quite some time now. 'Soon To Be' is a forceful four-track EP that includes a lot of weighty patterns, compelling soundscapes and some wobbly acid-flecked grooves. Spiralling through the space-time continuum, Alberta Balsam's debut EP amalgamates clipped breakbeat with lithe IDM and sawtooth electro. Inspired by the visionary author Ursula K. Le Guin, the vinyl is presented by Dekmantel Records together with a transcendental sci-fi narrative. Printed on a poster-inlay designed by British artist Alex Morgan, the story tells of a quest for survival on a planet ravaged by ecological collapse.

In a bid to rescue all lifeforms from impending destruction, a lone holobot frantically consults her neurobiological interface. Humans can no longer subsist on Earth: waterways are contaminated, and the unbreathable atmosphere has taken on a toxic purple, almost holographic hue. Faced with environmental apocalypse, she turns skyward, to take root among the stars. With nods to the utopian futurism, attunement to nature and alien visions of pioneering electronic artists such as Drexciya and Delia Derbyshire, Alberta transmutes a synergy that's entirely her own. Higher Dreams journeys elsewhere on a passage that's equal parts intergalactic and introspective, questioning how, on the brink of the abyss, we can find hope.

Blasting off the A-side with 'Atuan Tombs' – a reference to Le Guin's masterful Tales From Earthsea series – a cyborg voice narrates plundering through the skeletal remains of an urban landscape. Hollowed out kick-drums thunder in 'Cascade;' glitched-out beats that shatter into incandescent, intricate melodies. On the B-side, the titular track crescendos, it’s biblical vocals conveying the gravitas of an approaching dystopia. Yet Higher Dreams is far from doom-inducing – the EP closes off with ‘Suspended in the Manifold,' the vibrant Roland Tr-808 rhythm fuelled by the colossal power of a solar flare.

Renowned for her live hardware-based sets, Alberta flexes her immeasurable skill as a tech-savvy producer adept at constructing danceable, yet simultaneously lush and expansive interludes. Having trained as an epidemiologist, the theme of care reverberates through her music. Crucially, she regards dance as medicine – a primordial remedy to sustain our interconnected existence.

Since its inception in 2019, Beartrax’s Melodize imprint has consistently pushed deep, musical house and techno with contributions from John Tejada, Fort Romeau, Carl Finlow, and many more standing alongside Beartrax’s original productions throughout the label’s back catalogue.

Leading the sixth release, ‘Phantom Night’ sees haunted atmospherics nestled amongst ethereal synth licks, before a cinematic violin takes centre stage. Johannes Albert’s remix peppers elements of the original with slick acid lines and punchy drums, re-imagining the dramatic violin for a fresh and highly entertaining take.

On the flip, the uplifting ‘Valor’ runs through a series of modulating basslines, glistening pads, and sizzling drums, topped off with a majestic cello performance throughout.

Rounding out the release, Lauer adds rubbery low end, floating keys, and hands-in-the air piano stabs to ‘Valor’ for a high-energy end to another stellar EP from Melodize.

Germany’s Tilman inaugurates his new imprint Pleasant Systems this June with the ‘Adventures’ EP, featuring collaborations with Will Buck and Rhode & Brown. Mainz, Germany based producer and DJ Tilman has been dropping his twist on contemporary house over the past decade on labels such as Shall Not Fade, Life Is For Living and Quality Vibes as well as his own Fine imprint, run in collaboration with Johannes Albert. Here though, Tilman marks a new beginning with the launch of Pleasant Systems, a new imprint designed to shine a light on vintage inspired house sounds from both himself and friends. Up first is ‘What’s Mine Is Mine’, a collaboration with Brooklyn’s Will Buck which lays down an amalgamation of airy synth pads, choppy bass stabs, bright piano lines and enchanting flute like melodies atop a swinging drum groove. ‘Strawberry Fields’ follows, stripping things back to shuffled percussion, billowing ethereal textures and wandering sub bass tones while fluttering brass tones and resonant leads ebb and flow within. ‘Velvet Park’ opens the flip side, this time joining forces with Rhode & Brown, embracing a classic sound with raw crunchy drums, delayed piano chords, bumpy bass stabs, cinematic strings and brass hooks throughout. ‘Lovin'’ then rounds out the release, dropping the tempo, featuring the voice of Tilman himself and laying focus on off-kilter organic percussion, twinkling resonant tones, eighties tinged synth chords and g funk moog style bass to perfectly conclude Pleasant System’s debut…

Copenhagen based Rune Bagge explores the universe of raw minimal Berlin soundscapes, harmonic Detroit strings and elements of dubtechno and combines it all in his own very unique way on his first release on Kontakt. Rune s talent is widely acknowledged which has already led to releases on respected labels such as Ownlife, Semantica and Northern Electronics. Albert van Abbe gives Structure 2 a unique dutch dub interpretation while Edit Select takes Friend Of Mine on a long and dreamy journey. Limited Colored Vinyl.

Intense minimalist industrial acid tekno mantra beats by Albert van Abbe as Datasmok. A 'mini-concept-album' full heavy-hitting, brutal mean-and-lean, 'dirty-brown-and-miserable' psychotic visions. The Datasmok project was kickstarted by default when Guy Tavares and Albert decided to release archived tracks from Van Abbe on Tavares' Bunker Records. All tracks of this second volume of back-catalog material got special treatment in Tavares' subterranean master studio... Datasmok is one half of Penik Ettek.

Late last year, the world was introduced to DJ Wey via “Nosebleed,” a singularly jacking piece of house destruction on the Lovers Rock no. 6 compilation. Now the enigmatic producer returns to the LR fold with his debut EP “Introduccion.” Across four tracks, Wey maps a wild, tripped out terrain, both sinister and fun: “Anthem Para La Club,” recorded with J. Albert as Amigos DJs, bounces bitter tales of rejection against a twisting, unrelenting drum track. With Wey on the mic, jokes seethe and complaints dissolve into laughs, while the percolating drum pattern takes on a truly anthemic quality. Elsewhere, Wey indulges his dreamier side: “Emily’s” infectious, bouncing bassline and wandering leads are soaked in emotion, while “Tare Gent Us” builds on the sickeningly-sweet tension of “Nosebleed.” Finally, “Llanganatis” closes out the EP with a moment of breathtaking introspection. Unfinished melodies flicker across aquatic pads, while a distant electro beat betrays the producer’s Miami roots. Fresh, fun, out of control and yet surprisingly nuanced, Lovers Rock is proud to present DJ Wey’s “Introduccion.”

Hamburg’s Polycarp Records delivers the ‘Never Ever’ EP by Bonn this
January, backed with remixes from Johannes Albert and The Cruiser.
The Polycarp Records imprint was launched in 2016 by Simon Ferdinand and
across its past ten releases has unveiled an array of material from the
likes of Pleasant Systems boss Tilman, Frank Music founder Johannes
Albert and Simon Ferdinand and Basch both under their own artist names
and of course their collaborative project, Bonn. In 2019 Ferdinand and
Basch inaugurated their Bonn guise with a debut album entitled ‘Forget
Forgot Forgotten’, 2021 saw the release of a follow up EP entitled
‘Ravenous’ and here the story continues with the pair’s latest
collaborative works.
The original mix of title-track ‘Never Ever’ opens the EP and lays down
crunchy, off-kilter drums alongside mystical atmospherics, an unfurling
acid bass lead and loopy, fluttering stab sequences. Johannes Albert’s
twist on ‘Never Ever’ follows next, the fellow German producer takes
things down his signature cosmic, nu- disco path via bubbling arpeggio
lines and 80’s tinged resonant leads melded together with fragments from
the original composition.
‘Phero’ then opens the flip side and sees Bonn deliver a twitchy house
workout fuelled by fidgety synth bleeps, dubbed out chords and bumpy,
saturated drums. Last up to round things out, The Cruiser turns in a
high- octane interpretation of ‘Phero’, upping the tempo and reshaping
the original’s raw elements into a murky, dynamically unfolding thumper.

70s/80s influenced ambient mixed up with a healthy dose of UFO's, abduction, occultism, paranoia, astral flow, new age and long lost Atlantis. 2020 was the year when Albert Kuningas debut vinyl on Escape From Synthesis was released and now the second part of this ambient/ dark ambient masterpiece is available! Finally it's time to get physical vinyl copies of legendary Bandcamp-only release "Music for UFO document programs 2" with a never before heard bonus track called 'Sateenkaarisilta 2'! Don't sleep on this one as it's limited release of 200pcs only.

After Brexit, we thought it would be a brave attempt to snatch the Queen's interpretational sovereignty over the colour purple. So, we have named our new record just like that. Of course, this is only half the truth, as we named all six other UV050 compilation records after colours as well. The purple one, this one right here, is the second to last, completely with the wonderful artwork by Leipzig's Doppeldenk and four tracks to dance your ass off to. Krakow's Chino shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic FORBIDDEN VOICES sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Being a spiritual brother for a long time, it's actually the first time Berliner Johannes Albert releases on Uncanny Valley with his VISION UTOPIA, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with ROAMING THE STREETS: A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg's finest, blesses us with MOON OPERATOR, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries that no one has ever listened to before. Except of course for your expert friends, who claim to have heard even the most obscure dreamy Acid track.

ATT Series is proud to present Greenbeam & Leon's first album, The Haze Of Dust. The inspiration of this album comes from the experience of many years of work in their natural city, Tbilisi. Sadness, fear, hostility, happiness, gratitude, hope,are some feelings obtained that have fructified in an idea after a beloved long hard work in the studio. If one thing can be said, this work gives off essence, pure essence Greenbeam & Leon that bring you to another dimension. An extended variety of genres and references featured on this album, bringing a lot of influences and different compositions together, sometimes dark, sometimes deep, sometimes raw, sometimes melancholic, but all with essence. A complete soundtrack that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Kevin Over, Rindeau, Cuartero, Frazer Campbell. The collective Beste Modus Cinthie, Diego Krause, stevn.aint.leavn, Ed Herbst and Albert Vogt launched the label in 2012 as a platform for their own material, not long after came the realisation that many other artists around them were keen to be involved with the imprints burgeoning success and this led to the birth of Beste Fruende, a home for music from friends and affiliates of the label. Kevin Over’s ‘Butchers’ leads on the package with a swinging drum groove, emotive piano chords and a garage sub-tinged sub bass line alongside resonant synth licks and infectious vocals. Rindeau follows with ‘Wax On The Moon’, taking things deeper via twinkling Rhodes lines, dusty robust drums and modulating percussion. Cuartero’s ‘Floor Paca’ opens the flip side with choppy bass stabs, soft chord hits and a subtly nuanced rhythmic drive before ‘Slow Motion’ rounds out the package, employing classic deep house tropes with airy ethereal pads, vocal chops and shuffled, strippedback drums at its core.

Foul & Sunk is proud to present 'Morello', a cathartic EP from upcoming producer star D.Y.A. As an university educated jazz drummer the concept of improvisation and aspiration for that one special musical moment is surely no secret to D.Y.A. So both tracks 'Morello' and 'Cosy' are melodic groovers with the extra portion of soul. Beside this there are Johannes Albert and Shan on remixing duties. Albert is taking it to a deeper level, while Shan delivers a 9 min. monster remix with his emotional melodies and deep grooves.

Hamburg, Germany’s Polycarp is the brainchild of Simon Ferdinand and has been active
as a platform for the music of Simon under his own name, Basch and their music together
as Bonn, as well as further notable artists such as Tilman and Johannes Albert. Here,
Ferdinand returns to the imprint with another solo sonic adventure, traversing through a
range of emotions and influences with elements of glitch, ambient, electro, breaks, EBM
and more instilled within the project.

‘Broken’ leads the release and sets the tone through an amalgamation of hazy, glitched out
jazz loops obscured and processed throughout. Title-track ‘Six Months’ then shifts
towards a more ethereal deep house aesthetic with cossetting textures, stuttering synth
chords, elongated bass drones and jazzy organic drums. ‘In The Lab’ follows next and sees
Basch join forces with Simon to create a haunting slice of broken beat deepness fuelled by
murky low-end pulsations, saturated drums and gritty stab sequences.

First up on the flip-side is ‘The Beginning’, shifting gears towards classic electro tropes
with boomy 808’s, unfurling arpeggios and twitchy resonant synth bleeps before ‘Santa
Marina’ rounds out the release with a contemporary electronica feel, fusing fluttering
square wave bass lines, crisp amen breaks and intricately intertwined textural elements.

The A-side kicks off with JHNS "Nevermind", a minimalistic, low-end heavyweight groove driven by rubbery drums and a tight bassline. Steve End & Colau follow with a silky late-night hypnotic track, while El Funkador closes the A-side with an uplifting, drum-shuffling deep house cut, complete with funky synths and chord progressions.



On the B-side, "Night Strobe", a collaboration between Alben, LAJE, and Erratic, brings a retro-futuristic feel with a fast-paced, garage-tinged vibe. This sets the stage for HOT DLVRY's "Friction", a thumping deep groove led by spacious chords and keys, all anchored by an analog bassline. To round off this well-balanced compilation, Craftsmanship delivers a warm, humid deep house sound featuring bold chords and punchy drums - one of the defining motifs of this standout EP.

Jakob Mäder is a DJ and producer based in Stuttgart. Very close to Johannes Albert (Frank Music). He has been multiplying his releases in the last years. His universe is a subtle mix of house, italo and even trance. And its some good house music with some slightly trancy touches which are in the spotlight on the first track of this EP for our beloved label Skylax Records: The fabulous Chord Anthem. ??This excellent opener reminds us the mid 90s finest hours when there were no genre barriers. A title designed to last! To be played without moderation as well as in a house, italo or trance DJ set. The Essence, a solid and smooth title, receives the Shan (from Running Back) treatment. Magic Pitch is eyeing the side of Chicago with always this hovering and acid side. And to close this EP, the uptempo There Is Hope because yes there is indeed a lot of hope for this young producer full of future. Dynamic Dublin-duo Boots & Kats get given the keys to the House of Disco channelling an Italo Disco rave of interplanetary proportions for Hod028. Three pure peak-time pumping Italo warpers, complete with an exquisite Johannes Albert’s Party Talk remix to round off the package. Fists in the air business in a far-away planet, one where synthesisers rule the lands using colossal kicks and huge snares to enhance the power of their all-encompassing arps that range from rapid fire bass to gargantuan top lines. Johannes Albert then throws in some party chatter and deft sampling to his reworking of ‘Party Talk’ completing this futuristic capsule of interstellar goodness. It’s the best of that ‘80s Italo sound given a modern take that harnesses Boots & Kats’ unbridled Irish energy.

he Trilogy Tapes get the best out of J. Albert in the Envy Turned Curiosity EP with four deadly cuts of coiled, Afro-cubed breaks and gloomy synth pads.

Picks of the bunch are the beautifully brooding hybrids of B-More, Dark Garage and UK Broken Beats with cinematic strings on Money Between Friends and the haunted swang of Envy Turned Curiosity, while Deepstate Riddim goes rude and rugged on a dubbed out breakbeat flex and Designer Life recalls the meditative blue pressure of Parris.

Chromium Dioxide brought Leitstrahl’s sound to world. The three man group of Stoff, Paul Raal and Boogaloo Steve return alongside Alberto Melloni with Azimuth. Bordello A Parigi’s own Furór Exotica are drafted in to help with the Dee D. Jackson inspired “Automaton Lover”. Disco infused and bombastic, this powerful piece employs bold synthlines and breathy vocals to devastating effect. The title work follows. An addictive melody is cut by a crisp beat in this bright and inviting instrumental. Thick basslines and a mirrorball groove introduce “Spectral Fantasy”. Featuring the smoky lyrics of Vongold, a tale of unexpected encounters and possibilities unfurl amidst warbling analogue strings. Slung back basslines and a low throb are central in “Light Years”, a smooth longue affair to finish this diverse 12”.

With his new album, Year Of The Living Dead, Vienna-born and LA-based producer John Tejada finds a blissful extended moment of balance between the new and the familiar. Anyone who’s followed his career to date, which has included four previous albums for Kompakt, outings for storied labels like Plug Research, Playhouse and Cocoon, and numerous remixes and collaborations – most recently, his Wajatta duo with actor and musician Reggie Watts – will immediately sense the warmth and eloquence that Tejada brings to his gilded, pliant techno and electro hybrids. But there’s more here, too; an explorer’s glimmer in the producer’s eye, as he gets to grips with new ways of working and being, while offering a reflective opening for the listener, something echoed in artwork by graphic designer and ‘contemplative artist’ David Grey. “The album was started using tools I was unfamiliar with, which became an interesting exploratory process,” Tejada says. “Staying away from the obvious and having to re-learn simple things was a fun challenge.” You can hear these new creative pulsions pushing the eight tracks on Year Of The Living Dead ever-forward; the album has an unique cast, and though there are trace elements of the genres Tejada has indulged previously, he’s never quite put them together this way before. There’s the dubwise glitter sprinkled across the moody opener “The Haunting Of Earth”, the kind caresses found amongst the deftly woven textures of “Sheltered”, and the churchy melancholy, all hymnal and golden, of “Echoes Of Life”. Year Of The Living Dead also speaks obliquely to its moment, though Tejada works this implicitly, allowing the strange circumstances of 2020 to cast their inevitable shadow without being obvious or didactic. “The production process began right before lockdown and continued through what felt like a very serious time for all of us,” he recalls. “Not being able to see or touch our loved ones made me feel we are all like ghosts. We can observe from a distance but cannot really be there. We are isolated and alone.” And yet, Year Of The Living Dead’s tenderness offers an out for that anxiety and loneliness, its intimate immensities gifting the album a redemptive and compassionate core. Compact and glistening, Year Of The Living Dead sculpts unassuming beauty.

Closing the EP, J. Mono returns to Undersound after three years with “Love2.” This track is an ode to resilience, reminding us to stay strong in our darkest moments and that we can overcome anything, no matter what.
