Each part will be released separately,starting with the second one. "A Distant (Dark) Source" continues to chase those demons and lost memories which the band has been chasing ever since their debut album "Des Deux L'Une Est L'Autre": the album is an inward journey to the land of the ghosts of the past. At the origin of this distant dark source lies Tauca, an old Paleolithic lake located in Bolivia, where singer and guitarist Emmanuel Jessua has grown up, and continues to find inspiration for his musical endeavors. Lake Tauca disappeared more than 15 000 years ago, leaving behind an arid land and salt lakes, like the Salt Desert of Uyuni or Coipasa, at 4.500m of altitude in the Andes mountain range. "A Distant (Dark) Source" is the musical imagination of a night in this desert, during which the old shores of the lake see the return of the shadows of the people who used to live in this area before its disappearance. A man comes back to the lake to look for the shadow of the woman he loved. The album tells the story of this ephemeral return."A Distant (Dark) Source" is the second part of this story and takes place during one single night...but don't be deterred by such conceptual enthusiasm, as HYPNO5E sound is powerful, visceral and immediate. While the pandemic paralyzed the entire world and prevented bands from touring, Latin America's biggest metal export SEPULTURA refused to sit back and act like an animal trapped in a cage. Like the flowers growing out of the deceased bird’s body depicted on the stunning, colourful cover artwork by Eduardo Recife, the thrash metal pioneers from Belo Horizonte made good use of their unexpected free time to start a project that kept them busy throughout the entirety of 2020.

„»SepulQuarta« was born at the very beginning of the pandemic when everything was halted”,guitarist Andreas Kisser remembers. “We had a new album out, but we couldn’t tour for it. Therefore, we created this recurring event where we could talk with our fans around the world, play our music and exchange ideas, it was a blast! »SepulQuarta« kept us alive and strong throughout one of the most difficult times in human history.” “Doing Sepulquarta during this period allowed me to stay in contact with music. Playing my instrument was the only thing left to do in this pandemic,”adds drummer Eloy Casagrande, and indeed, music seemed to be a good way of coping with the never-ending lockdown and fear of loss and isolation that haunted people worldwide.

Obviously, the Brazilian pioneers were not the only musicians feeling this way, so they started to connect with friends and colleagues worldwide and asked them to not only be part of their weekly podcast, but also join them in playing one of SEPULTURA’s classics tracks. From the safety of their homes, international stars like David Ellefson, Scott Ian, Danko Jones, Devin Townsend, Matt Heafy and many more recorded a SEPULTURA track together with the band, which have now been mixed and mastered by Conrado Ruther for release on CD, 2LP and all streaming platforms.“We invited our amazingly talented friends to be a part of our project, either jamming with us or as a guest in the many Q&A’s we promoted,” Andreas explains.“We talked about our history, politics, sports, philosophy, depression and the environment among other things. We learned a lot with specialist guests and many of the great minds of today. Here you will find unique performances of SEPULTURA’s music from the many phases of our career, with amazing guest musicians that lent us their talent and energy to record these historical versions!”

Configuracao Do Lamento is a sound riot, a trance-inducing cacophony, a body-shaking mix of percussive rhythms and bending guitars. The seventh album by São Paulo, Brazil’s Deaf Kids is harmful for the weak-minded. An experimental mile marker on the band’s journey, it is as treacherous on the ears as hypnotic to the mind. Expanding the band’s D-beat origins, these eight tracks vacillate between demonic fever dreams, orgies of acidic guitars and percussive taunting. Sometimes songs are not songs anymore, but assaults which clatter and hum like rough metallic windchimes in gale force winds.

The band was formed in 2010 in the industrial city of Volta Redonda / Rio de Janeiro as a solo fuzz-soaked blend of crust / D-beat before bass and drums were added. Seven years, seven releases, two European tours, gigs across Brazil and more than one hundred shows later, the band remains steadfast on a path of sonic mind control. Their releases explore different takes on the hypnotic rhythms that comprise D-beat. When the band moved together to São Paulo, they began to blend each member’s musical and aesthetic taste with a common interest in mesmerizing grooves and psychedelic rhythms from around the globe. They now produce overwhelming, sensory-driven dirges that carry a Brazilian (and Latin American) imprint. Deaf Kids is the legitimate bastard child of colonial chaos—trapped here and there, between both complementary and opposing worldviews, trying to balance the intensity and conflicted human condition.

In December 2016, the band was joined by Carlos Sánchez, the actual drummer of the band, in 2017. It is an experimental metal project influenced by math, breakcore and Latin music that mixes polyrhythmic structures with minimalist guitar riffs. Emilia and Amadeus initially created the band with the idea of making a thrash metal band, however, it evolved into a somewhat different style. Complicated grooves as well as aggressive and suddenly demented vocal lines resulted in an exposition of Latin American rhythms in their most brutal form. The pro-ject is essentially a mixture between thrash, djent and experimental metal. In 2017 the band signed with the record label Subsound Records and released their first album Imago.

Sicarius – whose moniker means contract killer or assassin in Latin – draw influence from and pay homage to classic black metal bands, yet the quintet also injects a modern, high-velocity sense of immediacy into their bludgeoning and bloodthirsty extreme metal assault. The group – whose sonic nihilism has been praised by Metal Hammer as “USBM with serious forward thrust” – was founded five years ago in Southern California, where they have since performed extensively alongside such genre heavyweights as Carach Angren, Master, Uada, 1349, Goatwhore and Vader.

All-killer-no-filler melodic & symphonic & bombastic power metal at its best: every song of the new Moonlight Haze album is a potential hit single, displaying at the same time a rich sonic texture, some incredibly uplifting/addicting hooks and a meaningful and heartful message. ‘Animus’ represents a huge step up for the band’s songwriting and sound and got the five musicians excited since the very first melodies and lines that had been written. Lyrically-wise it’s an introspective and intimate work, but at the same time it looks at the world outside – willing to bring a bright message of vitality and rebirth. Hence the title, ‘Animus’, a Latin word that has different meanings: vital force, conscience, soul, mind and courage as well.
