In 2013, Finnish melancholic dark rock/metal masters AMORPHIS gave birth to their eleventh mind-child named “Circle” that instantly hit #1 in Finland’s album charts. The total of 9 tracks and 2 bonus tracks that are contained on “Circle” once more prove the musicians’ ability to intertwine new and established ingredients. “To put it in a few words, it’s compact, brilliant, fresh and still has all the elements you expect from AMORPHIS”, as guitarist Esa Holopainen points out. Lyricist Pekka Kainulainen, who has also worked for the band on previous albums, tells the story of an unfortunate man, who is invited to a circle and receives strength from the old Finnish gods. As the plot is set completely between dusk and dawn, “Circle” gains a dark yet yearning atmosphere. Produced by Swedish all-rounder Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN), AMORPHIS went to the Finnish countryside at Petrax Studio to work on “Circle”. The cover artwork was done by British artist Tom Bates who seems to share a common love for Alphonse Mucha with Esa Holopainen. Founded 1990 in Helsinki, AMORPHIS have become a globally successful act with 6 number 1 albums in their home country Finland and countless top 10 positions all over the world. DE 2013 brachten die finnischen melancholischen Dark-Rock/Metal-Meister AMORPHIS ihr elftes Album namens „Circle“ auf den Markt, das sofort auf Platz 1 der finnischen Album-Charts landete. The wait is over... Finally, classic heavy metal merchants Alien Force will break the 35-year silence and release a new collection of songs! “We Meet Again” is the eagerly awaited new Alien Force studio album, and it doesn’t disappoint: it’s melodic, it’s tight and it bears that classical sound that made the Danes a band to be reckoned in the international scene. Few bands could hold the pressure of three decades and a half of accumulated expectations, but Alien Force do it in spades! In 1982, the band known as Alien Force started playing music under the name Zeyking. Started by two brothers Henrik Rasmussen (guitar) and Michael Rasmussen (drums) the style was classic heavy metal. Together with Peter Svale Andersen (vocals) and Michael Østerfelt, (bass) Zeyking released the single “Get It Out”. In 1985, the band changed its name to Alien Force and released their first LP “Hell And High Water”. Up through the 90’s it was difficult for the band to survive. Band members were replaced, the name and style changed, but it was all in all a difficult period and the band decided to stop after playing at many festivals and club gigs. In 2008, the band was invited to play a reunion concert in the famous rock club The Rock. The concert was a great success and Alien Force once again got the desire for metal back. Shortly after, the band entered their home studio with new energy and new ideas for songs and got more invitations to play festivals again, but unfortunately their guitarist Michael Wenzel lost his life to cancer and it was a great blow for the band again. After a long break, in 2018, Alien Force was invited to play Keep It True, one of Germany’s largest underground metal festivals. Alien Force presented themselves with the original line-up from the “Hell And High Water” album and the concert served as a turning point. In 2020, Alien Force hit the studio again, inspired by the many concerts in Europe after the Keep it True experience. Together with Peter Brander in Media Sound Studio, they have recorded ten new with an A&R team composed by Michael Stützer (Artillery), Tom Noble (Tygers Of Pan Tang manager) and Kim Vestergaard (Artillery manager). Ad Patres, the French death metal band hailing from Bordeaux, has marked nearly two decades of existence. Born in 1866 BC, Abraham lived a peaceful life near the town of Sodome, NC. He married his half-sister who gave birth to some 14 kids while already aged far over a hundred years. those golden days are gone, but the virile power of Abraham's beard survived and he was reborn in 2007 as a rock band near Lausanne, Switzerland. Committed rehearsals and songwriting eventually led the band to record their first full-length, 'An Eye on the Universe', which was released in early 2011 on Pelagic Records. The critically acclaimed album was presented live all over Europe, with the likes of bands like Red Fang, Intronaut, Khoma, EF, Celan, Birds In Row, Mumakil or Kruger. Abraham's second album "The Prophet, The Serpent and The Whore" was inspired by a novel by J.G. Rawls. In case you're not familiar with this writer, well, shame on you! A bit of Wikipedia research will tell you that Rawls lived at the beginning of the 20th century and died in an motel room somewhere on the East Coast. It is not exactly clear whether his works are authentic or not; they might have been written by college students trying to pull a prank. The title of his most well-known book is The Chronoception. Abraham found this book on a flee market and used it as an inspiration for their second album. The lyrics were freely adaptated from the story, not wanting the record to become a literary illustration of the book. The story of an unnamed man falling from the sky to crawl through this world's lowest spheres; and the prevalent themes of falling from grace, primal fear, physical pain, loneliness and mystical visions resonated perfectly within Abraham's continuous state of mind. The music to this exploration of the human soul and consciousness was composed with these themes in mind and thus emerged darker and more tortured than what the band had done before. Magnus Lindberg from Cult Of Luna mixed the album and drove the contemplative aspects of their sound to even bleaker aural landscapes, while pushing its violent side further towards armageddon... Expect to see the band live on stage in France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy soon.

The Rifts is the 3rd album of Swedish duo A Swarm of the Sun and was originally released in 2015. The Rifts is sombre and brooding, heavy and melancholic, crushing and fragile in equal measure: a bleak and beautiful journey through the battered inner landscapes of the heart and soul: a dolorous tale of lost hopes, dreams falling apart, final moments of clarity and redemption... and appositely reflecting the current state of the world 5, years after its release – isolation. The Rifts is the sonic manifestation of a heavy black cloud of abstract yet overwhelming feelings, thoughts, hopes and fears-- a collection of intimate reflections on a very specific, profound and personal struggle which needs to stay somewhat untouchable and diffuse, as further verbal explanations would be divesting this immense work of art of its sheer and raw emotional impact. What initially was a handful of piano sketches, nine song titles, a few lines of lyrics and a notebook full of script-like visual references slowly evolved into something much more dense and layered. Karl Daniel Lidén (The Old Wind, ex- Terra Tenebrosa) was added to the lineup on drums, and he also recorded the album. The sessions culminated with the recording of the pipe organ. The result is absolutely massive, overwhelming, cinematic and pummeling; a sinister foreboding of the emotional truths at the core of this tremendous album. A Swarm Of the Sun is Erik Nilsson and Jakob Berglund. In 2007 the debut EP The King of Everything was released, followed by the critically acclaimed full-length album Zenith in 2010. The Rifts was written and produced by the band and recorded by Erik Nilsson, drums performed and recorded by Karl Daniel Lidén at Studio Gröndahl, mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Refused, Pg.lost). Further contributing musicians are Anders Carlström (The Isolation Process) on bass, Anna Carlsson on vocals, Minna Heimo on pipe organ and Robin Bergh (Aoria) on vibraphone. All artwork and videos directed and produced by the band's own Jakob. Why are we releasing this, 5 years later? Because everyone here at Pelagic agrees that in the nebulous world of post-metal, The Rifts is one of the 5 best albums ever made. We're honored to add this masterpiece to our catalogue.
