Through these 11 new titles, Dropkick Murphys celebrates the simple pleasure of playing music, to sweep away our troubles, relieve us and try to free us from this feeling of worry that seems irremediably to punctuate our days for almost a year... With the volume pushed to the maximum, we feel them straighten their heads, display wide smiles, and bring their conquering glances as far as possible. True to his initial state of mind, Dropkick Murphys sounds the charge. Like an indestructible pack, the band performs each track of Turn Up That Dial with the determination and exuberance that have forged its stage reputation, and we will not complain, quite the contrary!

"Jolifanto" takes its name from the first verse of "Karawane", a seminal Dadaist phonetic poem by Hugo Ball. When Ball first recited it in 1916 at the Cabaret Voltaire, both the author and the audience embraced a trance that left Ball exhausted, requiring assistance off the stage as the audience claimed the spotlight.
Over a century later, by a series of fortuitous events, "Jolifanto" is also the title of an album featuring two powerful musical entities. Artists stemming from diverse backgrounds converge with a shared experimental spirit, curiosity and passion for exploration in their music.
"Jolifanto" is an unexpected explosion propelled by (poly)rhythm, expanding into seemingly distant territories under the influence of flamenco. The Dadaist spirit permeates the work, where a constant tension between the improvised and the meticulously planned is evident. ZA! and Perrate together form an organism traveling from the roots to the rave, with nothing sounding out of place because the place is yet to be defined.
Perrate witnessed ZA!'s concert in a festival he attended as part of the audience. The Catalans surprised him with a proposal that he found radical and unclassifiable. Later, after being invited to prepare a collaboration for the Música y Museos season in Seville, Perrate decided to move off the beaten path, approaching ZA!, who quickly embraced the proposal. Exchanges of ideas and audio tracks ensued in a short time and they quickly found out that they were in the same wavelength.A week before the concert, they met in the same physical space for the first time, dedicating a couple of days to composition and preparing the gig at La Mina Studios in Seville. The concert took place, hailed as "the best concert most attendees had experienced in a long time", as reported by the Diario de Sevilla. That energy needed to be captured, and so it was, at the Happy Place studio in Seville, where the album was recorded between March 6th and 9th, 2023.
The Catalan duo ZA!, "the duo that mash up terrace-chant mayhem with... everything else" (The Wire #384), has operated independently and self-managed since their inception in 2004. They overlap genres and amalgamate sounds that move, with intensity, between wild jazz, post-rock and avant-garde electronics, among other influences. In their acclaimed latest work, they have revived the Phoenician language, exploring Mediterranean sounds alongside MegaCobla and Tarta Relena.
Perrate, active since the late 90s, explores the outer edges of flamenco without forsaking its profound essence rooted in lineage and tradition, evident in every note of his voice. His latest work, "Tres golpes" (Lovemonk/El Volcán, 2022), named flamenco album of the year by Babelia/El País, and one of the albums of the year for BBC3's Late Junction, reflects an innate curiosity, possibly the seed of all the fortuitous events leading to this album.
The encounter between Perrate and ZA! is the result of serendipitous events interwoven with the narrative of artists dedicated to experimentation and radicalism in all its forms.

The uncompromising firecracker from 1982, the second OHL album back on vinyl! One of the German punk classics ever!The second LP by German punk veterans OHL has become much fatter than their immature debut. The production is much crisper, the vocals with their cynical bad news to political society fit. The songs are more catchy. Although OHL are not really a thrash band, they produced some very fast slabs of guitar-heavy power that will really strain the speakers at high volume (e.g. "Schrei, Schrei" "Warschauer Pakt" or "Belsen"). With "Nie wieder" they certainly have one of the most biting anti-Nazi songs I've ever come across. Recommended again and still!

Unit Pride was a band from California’s Bay Area that was a part of the late-’80s “youth crew” hardcore scene. The singer, Eric Ozenne, went on to front THE Nerve Agents (Hellcat/Revelation), Redemption 87 (Blackout/ New Age), and Said Radio (Mankind). This collection includes the long-outof-print Unit Pride Then And Now 7”, originally released in 1988 on Step Forward Records, as well as their even rarer, self-released Holding On Strong demo from 1987. Originally reissued by Mankind Records in 2002.

Full Circle is the emotional and pivotal album that followed the tragic death of founding member and bassist Jason Mathew Thirsk. Dedicated to the memory of Thirsk, Full Circle is hard as nails, reflective and ultimately redemptive. Despite the somber task at hand, the record is exhilarating and uplifting . With the help of long time friend Randy Bradbury on bass, Pennywise was able to look inward and work through the issues that would have torn a lesser band apart. Full Circle also features a moving re-recording of "Bro Hymn" and a special hidden piano instrumental of Unknown Road.

What if the Velvet Underground had written ‘Wooly Bully’ and Sam The Sham ‘Sister Ray?' Gang activity started when moldy JOE (Celluloid Lunch, Itchy SELF...) enlisted fellow rhythm bro, TOM THA Moleanderthal (feeling Figures, Hélène Barbier band...) to make a perfect record in the Ides of corona March. A million Doll hairs and several rock bottoms later, the idea was to make something that would easily fall apart, this was executed with Montreal's best and brightest in the wings, lending a foot (all in the name of bogtime[sic] exposure). Bathroom-stall-wart and Barstool-smart Chrispy Burns (terminal Sunglasses, American Devices…) was brought in to add his patented 'racket roll' guit-o-rama. James "gogo" Goddard (skintone, Egyptian Cotton ARKESTRA...) skronked his reliable sax machine and the ticket was printed. Short on practice and high on ideas, thee Retail Simple Tones were born, well traveled and unraveled individuals, bound by a musical adventure. Now to show for it, Reverberant Scratch is a 9 track ruckus of tinny guitar sketching, horn-honking deliberations, keyboardarific doodles, and whatever else one can summon in a basement to bang on. It's a ramshackle party stabber. Loose, loud, and 100% Total Punk!!!

The Fits were a punk rock band from Blackpool, Lancashire, England. Originally released on Rondelet Music, this EP entered the UK Indie Chart in December 1982 and peaked at number 44.

Bertie Marshall is a writer/ performer. He is also an acclaimed memoirist, most well known for his book ‘Berlin Bromley’ (2006) about his transformation from Bertie, an anxious, androgynous, depressed teenager, into Berlin, a teenager who would reject suburban values and become a founding member of punk’s ‘Bromley Contingent’, alongside Siouxsie Sioux, Steven Severin and Billy Idol.

Svart Records presents the 40th anniversary reissue of Peilitalossa by Musta Paraati. The vinyl edition, limited to 500 copies, is wrapped in a replica of the original cover layout and contains a booklet with accompanying text and rare photos. The Svart Records store has an exclusive clear/purple/turquoise marble vinyl version, limited to 150 copies, that also comes with a repro of the original promo poster from 1983.

Peilitalossa is the most important classic gothic rock album to come out of Finland. Musta Paraati began in 1981 and were soon signed by Johanna Kustannus, who released the album, produced by Jimi Sumén and recorded by Risto Hemmi at Finnvox, in 1983. After Musta Paraati split up in 1984, Peilitalossa evolved into one of the most loved cult albums in Finland. It has been reissued on CD in 2001 and in an earlier vinyl edition by Svart in 2012.

Hubble Bubble is a Belgian punk band in which Plastic Bertrand started his career. Formed in 1973 by Alain Bureau and managed by Bernard Schol, the band released a self-titled album in 1977 on Barclay Records. Plastic Bertrand is listed as a songwriter, singer, and drummer under the name Roger Junior. Reissue of the first Hubble bubble album originally released on Warner Bros records in 1977.
