Orange 9mm was formed by vocalist Chaka Malik (burn) in 1992 with Chris Traynor on guitar, Eric Rice on bass, and Larry Gorman on drums. The hardcore rhythm outfit are self-described as a result of being “happy and pissed off at the same time and playing at the moment.” Orange 9mm went on to release two full-lengths on major labels East West and Atlantic, releasing videos, and touring with bands such as Quicksand, Biohazard, Deftones, and more.

"Old City, New Ruins" takes its title from Rome, the city where the band is based. It depicts the contemporary ruins of the capital, yet it's merely a pretext to expose the complexities of everyday life common to Western societies and their major cities, foremost among them. The album unfolds episode by episode, driven by the need to express anger and frustration, but also the antidotes to them. Social references abound, as well as intimate reflections and even profound investigations into the psychoses of the marginalized and abandoned. It tells the story of collective strength, musically expressed through a choral quality that runs deep in the band."Old City, New Ruins" is a unique hardcore album, inspired both by emerging currents of the genre - such as Comeback Kid, Turnstile, Trapped Under Ice - and by the European and Northern European heavy tradition - like Kvelertak, Turbonegro - to the pantheon of influences of Feldspar: Nirvana, Motorhead, Gorilla Biscuits, Slayer and everything in between. The album consists of ten songs, with bellicose episodes alternating with cathartic moments, explosions of energy accompanied by timeless slogans, songs for celebration and songs for war, moments for reflection, and others for denunciation. All of this alternates within the ten tracks preceding the instrumental that gives the album its title, also the final track of the record, a sort of Carpenteresque ballad that serves as the soundtrack to visualize the marvelous and creepy ruins Feldspar speaks of. Production note: for the album, Feldspar worked alongside Nick Terry, a legendary figure in the English music scene, known for his productions with Ian Brown/Stone Roses, The Libertines, Turbonegro, Simian Mobile Disco, Kvelertak, Peaches, and more. His involvement adds international depth to the project. The artwork was entrusted to Chris Wilson, an American illustrator renowned for his work on covers for bands like MindForce, Scowl, Combust, and Gel, essentially the cream of the crop of contemporary American hardcore.

Last of the Orange 9mm reissue series. First time on vinyl for the bands EP originally released on NG Records in 1998. 180 gram Colored Vinyl with etched b-side, remastered with two inserts.

The punk movement also came fully clothed. Mal-One’s new single talks about the fashion side of Punk that ran parallel to the music. These clothes were supplied from Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwoods emporium situated at 430 King’s Road, the epicentre of the Punk Movement itself. The clothes were not cheap and you needed deep pockets to buy them. But you also needed an attitude to wear them, as many factions were not so appreciative of them, especially the ‘Teddy Boys’. You had to run the gauntlet of the King’s Road on a Saturday from Sloane Square to the Worlds End. A tricky mile, in which you always had to keep your eyes open from enemy attack.

The clothes were pieces of art and deserve their time in the spotlight and perhaps even in song. Hope you appreciate the gesture.

OMGay, Team Dresch is releasing an actual NEW Song! It's been 19 years since the band has released new material - 25 years since the making of Personal Best, when this particular configuration of players (Jody Bleyle, Donna Dresch, Kaia Wilson and Marcéo Martinez) recorded together. Your Hands My Pockets: Donna Dresch, in her typical Team Captain spirit, busts out riffs that are rife with her awesome signature grunge/punk/melodic catchiness, Jody and Kaia trade off on vocal duties like they're in some frantic singing relay race, and Marcéo slams the toms around like he learned to drum from both Mel Brown and bam-bam (please note, Marcéo actually took drum lessons from Mel Brown in the 80"s). While 'Your Hands' is an undeniable pop/punk song, it is also brimming with bristle and depth, conjuring feelings of longing, angst, desire. When Jody sings 'Oh I wanna want to be wrapped around, to wrap around' there is NO ONE who can't relate to this feeling of reaching out to one another for connection, touch, and love. Team Dresch Keeps IT Real (gay) with their harmonious musical chemistry, queercore spirit, and attention to detail in their musicianship - the alchemy of these humans is clearly still alive and dancing, you know it baby. NEW Re-issue OF THE SKA Meets Pop-punk Classic That Kicked OFF THE Modern SKA Resurgence ON Retail Exclusive Blue Vinyl W/ Marketing Sticker Whatever arguable resurgence that ska punk seems to be having, you can’t attempt to explain it or pinpoint it without referencing We Are The Union or their 2018 masterpiece “Self Care”. Initially a crowd-funded venture that raised over $60,000 worth of support, the record’s release was met with critical success and an instantly sold out modest initial pressing of 600 units. Now for the first time since it’s release the record is available again from the ska-punk focused Bad Time Records (who released the band’s 2021 album “Ordinary Life”), ready to meet the since dramatically expanded ska fan base. The record focuses on mental health in a way that hadn’t been addressed especially by a ska band. Singer Reade Wolcott addressed it in an article for Spin: “At that point, my focus was very pro-normalizing talking about mental health,” Wolcott says of 2018’s Self Care, the band’s first post-hiatus record.
