Formed in 2018, in Los Angeles, California, Section H8 creates gritty and callously honest hardcore punk. Beach Rats are five punk rock lifers in an Asbury Park, NJ basement making a riot of their own, with a membership that includes impossible-to-avoid New Jersey punk stalwarts. “We all live at the beach; we see each other all the time. Seaway formed in 2011 in Oakville, Ontario, consisting of Ryan Locke on vocals, Patrick Carleton on guitar and vocals, Andrew Eichinger on
guitar, Adam Shoji on bass, and Ken Taylor on drums.[1] All of the members have been friends since high school.[2] Seaway was originally a
side-project of hardcore band The Fellowship, which featured Locke on drums, Eichinger on guitar and Taylor on vocals.
The band released their debut full-length record in 2013 through Mutant League Records. They began to tour, supporting Major League in
February and March 2014. Seaway went on a co-headlining Summer 2014 tour with Stickup Kid, with support from Driver Friendly, from
early July to late August.[ Seaway signed to Pure Noise Records and released their debut EP "All In My Head" in November 2014. The band
went on The Intercontinental Championships Tour in the UK, supporting Neck Deep in January and February 2015. The band supported As
It Is and This Wild Life on their tour of the UK in May.

Mechan also engineered & produced the record at his 302 Sounds studio in Mt Juliet, TN.

You'd think Jake Robertson would already have his hands full playing in the likes of Ausmuteants, Leather Towel, School Damage, Drug Sweat et al. But no, evidently there's always time for one more thoroughly wracked project, and Alien Nose Job's focus is as kaleidoscopically scattershot as you'd expect from a man with such a short attention span. Just to confirm: yes, that's a good thing. From the off, we glide through the Coneheads-style Devocore of Television Sets before romping through the jangling lo-fi pop of Weight of the World, which skips and mopes while making like The Clean setting light to their parents' carpet with a magnifying glass. There's also charmingly scruffy soul-pop, chugging sci-fi slop-punk, straight-up college rock balladry and much, much more. But these aren't sketches or tossed-off genre exercises. They're bona fide works of consummate skill that resonate sincerely and effortlessly. Essentially, each song sounds like a challenge to the one that follows, a cry of 'step the fuck up'; Suddenly Everything is Twice as Loud is a treasure trove of mini-masterpieces. Rough as fuck mini-masterpieces, sure, recorded with a cheap drum machine and guitars that sound like rusty drills cutting through power cables, but mini-masterpieces nonetheless. When venerable doyens of the pop establishment make albums of such eclectic scope and genuine songwriting talent, they get called geniuses. When punk as fuck wiseguys like Robertson pull it off, words like 'maverick' get tossed around. Rest assured, his Alien Nose Job project covers both angles. This second album is an instant classic that deserves to be heard far beyond the underground - but if it isn't, who cares? He's probably playing in another seven bands already by the time you read this. I've not heard them yet either, but I can tell you they're all fucking amazing. Just buy this record and join the cult. “Prior to forming the Gun Club, Jeffrey Lee Pierce (1958-1996) fronted The Red Lights. While 1980 is viewed as ground zero for Pierce’s career—his autobiography Go Tell The Mountain starts with the founding of the Gun Club—Pierce was active as a rock critic for Slash magazine and had started songwriting years earlier. Throughout the late 1970s, Pierce’s primary musical interests were power pop and reggae. He was the president of the Blondie fan club and had interviewed Burning Spear. So when the Red Lights, Pierce’s first serious attempt at forming a band, started rehearsing it’s unsurprising that power pop (with a hint of reggae) was the group’s musical direction. “The Red Lights existed throughout 1978. The lineup for the band’s debut show on July 14, 1978—opening for The Germs and The Middle Class at the Whisky—was Jeffrey Lee Pierce (vocals and guitar), Anna Statman (bass), Vitus Mataré (keyboards) and Jack Reynolds (drums). Mataré and Reynolds were members of The Last; Anna Statman was a contributing writer to Pleasant Gehman’s Lobotomy fanzine. This lineup was short-lived. Mataré dropped out afterwards; Jack Reynolds stuck around a little longer. Thanks to Flipside’s gig reviews, it’s known that the Red Lights played at least two more shows: one at The Arena in Culver City and another one at The Rock Corporation in Van Nuys on August 9, 1978, opening up for The Weasels. By the end of 1978, Pierce had moved to New York City, effectively ending the Red Lights “At some point in the second half of 1978, The Red Lights recorded a demo. Little is known about the session. Mataré had already left the band, Statman vaguely remembers recording it. Unfortunately, Jack Reynolds passed away in 2009. The Red Lights were obscure; people familiar with the band were likely committed Gun Club fans. Few were aware that this demo tape existed; those who had a cassette copy likely received it from Pierce directly. “Fast forward four decades and what’s surprising about the Red Lights’ material is how advanced Pierce’s songwriting was at 19 years old—the songs’ dynamic range, that voice—this is clearly the Gun Club’s Jeffrey Lee Pierce. In one of the most powerful comeback stories in recent history, THE Ghost Inside make a triumphant return the stage in Los Ange?les at Shrine Expo, in 2019. With the 5000 capacity venue selling out in mere minutes, the show as moved to it's parking lot, and selling over 8000 tickets by the end of on sale day. THE Ghost Inside will release Rise From The Ashes: Live At The Shrine via Epitaph Records. This live concert recording is from the band's 2019 sold out comeback show in Los Angeles, CA in the parking lot of The Shrine. On an early morning in November 2015, THE Ghost Inside was involved in an accident that claimed the lives of their driver, the lives of everyone in the other vehicle, and resulted in multiple injuries for all of the band members. Jonathan Vigil (vocals) suffered from a fractured back, ligament damage, and two broken ankles. Zach Johnson (guitar) has since had 13 surgeries for a femur injury. Andrew Tkaczyk (drums) ultimately lost his leg. The future of the band was very much up in the air throughout 2016, as everyone struggled to recover. The road to recovery was both mentally and physically extensive but THE Ghost Inside were determined to get back to doing what they love. Nearly four years later, the band did just that, returning to the stage July 2019. Originally meant to take place at the historic Shrine Auditorium, tickets sold out so quick that the gig had to be moved to the parking lot, selling double the venues capacity. Over 8000 people witness this return to the stage. The accident will always be a defining moment for THE Ghost Inside, but never what defines them.

Just in time to kick off summer, Helsinki, Finland's daydreaming pop tunesmiths, Teini-pää, return with a four-track EP that's on assignment to swallow your insecurities and your anxieties, and spit them back to the world in bubbles of carefree elation and effervescent romantic charm. At the end of the day, the reason we are drawn to the music that sticks with us, is because it moves us and strikes an emotional response that tickles our chemicals in a way that we want to keep coming back over, and over, and over, chasing the initial high. The way that "Mietin Minne Meet" washes along the break between tight and clean, upbeat indiepop melancholia and a nostalgic power-pop-punk sound—that is specifically Scandinavian in its nuance here—brings me back to that heart-in-throat wonderment I felt the first time I heard (and fell in love with) Teini-pää's tunes. Lyrically the record spends most of its time in its own head, trying to work through some shit—which makes a whole lot of sense when you learn that the band name translates to "Teen Head"—and Renata Rojo's artwork reflects this theme flawlessly.

This is the first single from the new album 'Triple Distilled' and it's already getting played on BBC 6Music, 'Begging You' was recorded at Ranscombe Studios in Grahams hometown Rochester and it's backed with an exclusive b-side a great instrumental called 'Sitar Spangled Banner'. After a year of touring and the release of their 'Travelled And Unravelled' EP earlier this year, the Gaolers returned to the studio in July 2008 to record their follow up to the critically acclaimed debut album 'Soundtrack To The Daily Grind' with their second album 'Triple Distilled' at Ranscombe Studios in Rochester, Kent which is due for release in October 2008. 'Triple Distilled' is made up of 12 blistering new tracks with fairly autobiographical lyrics telling tales of their life on the road, drinking and smoking. This second full-length outing (due for Oct 20th release via Don Giovanni) finds the band, which operated as a ‘rotating cast’ in it’s early years, now firmly entrenched as an essential four-piece comprised of Henderiks alongside Eli Frank (guitar, vocals), Tricia Marshall (bass, vocals) and Peter Gargano (drums). The quartet maintains the vital energy of their previous incarnations but brings an even more focused punch to the arrangements that leaves greater room for Henderiks’ lyrics. Fans of the band will also have noticed the creative assent of Marshall who takes the vocal lead on multiple songs that have become defining features of the band’s recent live shows and which bring a fresh new viewpoint to the band’s ongoing sonic mission for a more equal and just world.

The soundtrack – a mix of their classic tracks, rarities and a sprinkling of diverse artists from the Bay City Rollers and Sailor to Tappa Zukie and The Who – was only ever available on CD, making this its vinyl debut. Uncluttered by the other artists tracks, the OST spread across 2 slices of red and white vinyl includes sing along family favourites Liar, Anarchy In The UK and No Fun alongside lesser known but no less essential cuts Don’t Give Me No Lip, Road Runner and What’cha Gonna Do About It. Less than twelve months on from the triumphant rock ’n’ roll record that was Stained Glass, Australia’s most tasteful sonic culinary artiste Jake Robertson serves up The Derivative Sounds Of, another platter in his never-ending, ever-extending Alien Nosejob banquet.

Since initially firing out similar flavors on his first offering, Alien Nosejob has conquered the challenges of disco, hardcore, new wave, rock and roll (all drowned in his characteristically sweet sense of humor) before finally returning back to his musical roots: the jangly, adolescent feel of 1960s garage.

After one of Robertson’s first bands, The Frowning Clouds, reunited for a few shows in September 2022, he found himself digging up old songs and riffs from the period, some spanning back to as early as 2006 and up until around 2012. This record features many of those song ideas—some reworked, some rewritten, some exactly the same. All together now as one hot package.

Leaning into his musical tastes from the Clouds’ period of existence, Robertson digs up inspiration in some teenage staples: The Troggs, Mike Furber, the under-appreciated bands that make up the Shutdown ’66 / Back From The Grave compilations, without overdoing the sugar, salt, MSG, whatever one wants to call it. This record was recorded by Robertson all by his lonesome over a weekend in his garage. There’s no paisley shirts, no skinny-ties, no winkle-pickers, no slim-fit suits and no haircuts—just Robertson and his 1964 MacBook Pro.

Garage rock revival is a sound that’s often overdone, drenched in nostalgia and small-minded attitudes, but this album is not just a throwback to the sounds of yesterday. It doesn’t belong with the golden oldies or the usual garage resuscitations. Los Angeles, California—DIVINE Horsemen, the fiery, eclectic ’80s group that rode the unique vocal chemistry of Chris Desjardins (aka Chris D.) and Julie ChrisTENSEN, return to the musical stage with Hot Rise Of An Ice Cream Phoenix, a collection of all-new recordings. Co-produced by Desjardins and Craig Parker Adams (who engineered I Used To Be Pretty, the 2019 release by Chris D.’s groundbreaking ’70s punk band the Flesh Eaters), this new 13-track album comprises the first new music by the Horsemen in thirty-three years. Founded after the dissolution of the Flesh Eaters and launched with the 1984 Enigma Records album Time Stands Still, billed as Chris D./Divine Horseman, the band released three albums and an EP on SST Records, all of which featured the searing harmonies of Desjardins and Christensen, who were married at the time. The couple split professionally and personally just prior to the release of their January 1988 EP A Handful of Sand. However, the two musicians remained in touch over the years, and Christensen contributed vocals to five tracks on I Used To Be Pretty, which reunited the 1980 “all-star” edition of the Flesh Eaters heard on the Ruby/Slash classic A Minute To Pray, A Second To Die. By then, the idea of reviving Divine Horsemen was already percolating. Featuring onetime Divine Horsemen guitarist Peter Andrus, who had appeared on A Handful Of Sand and the 1987 album Snake Handler, and Bobby Permanent, the 2021 Divine Horsemen lineup is completed by drummer DJ Bonebrake of the incomparable L.A. band X. Hot Rise Of An Ice Cream Phoenix stands as a bracing new achievement by a distinctive musical partnership that has always marched to the beat of its own drum. Like the Flesh Eaters’ recent reunion, it’s a welcome return that plays to the group’s historic strengths.
