As AllMusic recognises, “Alternative Chartbusters” was way ahead of its time, a buried treasure that only got dusted off much later: “Condemned at the time for offering up little more than a straight carbon copy of its predecessor, the second Boys’ album has since ascended to the pantheon of power pop greats, a combination of the band's own inestimable position at the forefront of what, by early 1978, was already a burgeoning movement, and their seemingly effortless grasp of the rudiments of, indeed, a great pop song.” Along with the Sex Pistols, Clash and the Damned, The Boys were part of the first wave of the mid-1970’s UK punk explosion. Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977 and subsequently released two albums, their self-titled debut and the follow-up “Alternative Chartbusters” in quick 7 succession. San Francisco’s last and only rock and roll band THE Okmoniks has teamed up with Slovenly Recordings for Afterparty Fever!!! Here are nine new houserockin’ woman led punk rock’n’roll blasts that capture the essence of a party that just don’t stop. This particular all-nighter was recorded live in a small room, and you can tell from the screams, handclaps, and peals of laughter that this 17 minute end result was produced in a gloriously boisterous session. Afterparty Fever!!! captures the girls-to-the-front, make-room-for-dancing, leave-’em-wanting-more live show they’ve been dishing out for freaks world-wide for the past two decades. The OKs are fronted by Helene 33 on vox, simultaneously playing impossible sounding, finger stretching 60s Ace Tone Top 5 organ tones while tossing it around like a toy… It must be seen to be believed, and a believer you shall be!

The Okmoniks recorded and produced every song on this album, and wrote them all with the forgivable exception of one cover by Tucson 60s punk outfit The Grodes. “Afterparty Fever!!!” sounds like a band in 1977 doing their favorite 1966 stompers: devastating dancers like “Don’t Wanna See You No More” and “I’ll Let You In” could fit comfortably in a John Waters teen shimmy montage, giving way to rockers like “He Left the Party with Me” and “Summer Break Up” that could serve as the captions for a comic panel in “Punk” Magazine.

It was in 2006 that Detroit punks THE SUICIDE MACHINES called it a day after 15 years and six full-throttle, super-charged and confrontational albums. The break didn’t last too long—in 2009, the four-piece reconvened to play the occasional local shows and embarked on a handful of tours. Finally, the band is back with a brand-new album—the first since War Profiteering Is Killing Us 15 years ago! Revolution Spring, the band’s seventh album and Fat Wreck debut, picks up right where they left off—full of blistering, rousing songs finding the band in truly explosive and energetic form. Over the course of a couple of years, the band wrote a total of 30 songs. With the help of both LESS THAN JAKE's bassist ROGER LIMA, who produced Revolution Spring, and THE CODE's frontman MARC CODE, The Suicide Machines whittled those down to the 16 that make up this record. While on the one hand, these songs serve as an overview of the band’s career and the different permutations of punk they’ve dabbled in over the years, it also possess the energy, spontaneity and enthusiasm of a band many years their junior—albeit with the wisdom that comes from being alive for a few decades. Recorded in “about 12 days” at Rancho Recordo, Revolution Spring is a powerful and cohesive combination of hardcore, ska and anthemic punk rock.

These 10-songs were recorded and mixed by Craig Bowen at Baltimore's A.C.R. Studios but never released. After the session the band decided to continue writing new songs. Six of these songs were re-recorded at Inner Eat Studios and released on Necrophones, while four others remained unreleased, until now. Released in 2012.

The Intima led a chameleon-like existence from 1999 to 2004, confounding critics who struggled to describe their distinctive sound while sharing stages with everyone from The Rapture to The Mekons. Hailing from Olympia and Portland, the postpunk quartet utilized sharp rhythms, prescient lyrics, and a collaborative compositional approach to conjure forth a sound that manages to be explosive yet detailed, experimental yet propulsive and melodic. Featuring a classically-trained violinist, custom-tuned guitars that careen at odd angles, and an imaginative and powerful rhythm section, the band explored the intersection of art-punk and agitpop with a spirit and tenor uniquely their own. In 2017, the Polish website More Noise summed up their sound by saying that "the first association that comes to mind is The Ex and the Dutch avant punk scene of the 1980s, but fans of the bands Dirty Three, Godspeed You Black Emperor and Unwound may also be intrigued."The group toured the States extensively during the 4+ years that they were active, including one grueling six-week tour undertaken just after 9/11 and another one in 2003 during which the US began bombing Iraq. The group's live sets are remembered for their combination of unbridled intensity and tightly-coiled musicianship, as well as their chaos potential, whether that chaos was performing in the middle of an illegal street party or causing a PA to burst into flames immediately preceding a headlining set by Deerhoof. THE KARL HENDRICKS TRIO is a Pittsburgh rock institution. Having released nine full-lengths and six singles of uncompromising, emotionally charged, very loud rock over the course of twenty years, it's probably safe to call them an American rock institution as well. A former bedroom 4-track confessionalist, Karl Hendricks formed the Trio late in 1991. The band has undergone numerous line-up changes since, having had four different drummers, four different bass players, and during the two separate spans when the band augmented to a four-piece dubbed appropriately enough, the Karl Hendricks Rock Band, two different rhythm guitarists. The one constant has been, of course, Karl himself. The Trio debuted on record with 1992's Buick Electra, released on Karl's own Peas Kor label. From the mid '90s to the early 2000s the trio released several albums on Merge Records, and in 2007, Hendricks self-released the one and only Karl Hendricks Rock Band album, The World Says, on his Surplus Anxiety imprint. Comedy Minus One's release of The Adult Section in 2012 officially marks the end of the Karl Hendricks Rock Band Mark II and the return of the stripped-down Trio line-up. Karl's sound and his approach to songwriting have only gotten more nuanced and thoughtful with age. Musically, the Trio remains rooted in a muscular yet melodic sound built on a massive wall of guitars, and a bass and drum assault that powers things forward as much as it anchors them down. It's a straightforward aesthetic but it has allowed Karl's guitar playing to develop into a more sprawling and heroic version of the spirited six-string blasts of his youth. Some Nicholson is an ensemble created by artist David Nicholson. Their debut album is a collection of blues infused material presented in the form of a classic 70’s LP.” David Nicholson was born in Montreal in 1970. His career began at Artists Space in NYC in 2002 and he now lives and works in Berlin, where he is represented by Galerie Michael Haas. In 2018 Nicholson decided to state a musical position based on his lifelong love of the blues by producing a vinyl album, reminiscent of the LP records of the 1970s. Recording took place in his painting studio, summoning the minimalist spirit of field recordings, rendered with modern technology. This approach set the parameters for the project which later expanded to include a recording made on location at the Freiberg Cathedral, home of a baroque masterpiece, Gottfried Silbermann’s organ. To help him realise his vision, Nicholson gathered an ensemble of 12 musicians and singers, including renowned jazz organist Brian Charette, trumpet player Christoph Titz, and guitar maestro/sound-übernerd Thomas Büchel. The results speak for themselves. Sit back and immerse yourself in a musical adventure and note that the album’s creators advise that this LP record is best enjoyed with a bottle of 2018 Chinon.

Last House is the third album from Sacramento’s Th’ Losin Streaks. The album was recorded at Louder Studios in Grass Valley, California, with Tim Green behind the board. Green played piano on several tracks, and Anton Barbeau—a friend of the band since the beginning—plays organ on some cuts. All of the band members—Tim Foster, Stan Tindall, Mike Farrell and Brian Machado—contributed to the songwriting, and the album also features a cover of The Weeds classic “It’s Your Time.” The album cover and other photos were shot by their pal (and Bay Area punk legend) Al Sobrante. In 2006, THE Draft was formed by Hot Water Music members Jason Black, George Rebelo, and Chris Wollard shortly after singer/guitarist Chuck Ragan's departure. The three remaining members of the band wanted to continue making music together but chose not to continue under the Hot Water Music name, opting for a fresh start instead. The initial writing and demo sessions included the legendary punk rock guitarist Brian Baker (known for Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion). However, due to conflicting schedules, Baker couldn't commit as a full-time member, leading fellow Florida resident and former Discount member Todd Rockhill to join the band. After releasing their debut album "In a Million Pieces" (produced by the esteemed Brian McTernan) on Epitaph Records in 2006, the band embarked on extensive tours with acts like Samiam, The Gaslight Anthem, and Paint It Black. They also released several singles on the renowned No Idea Label before disbanding in 2008. With both "In a Million Pieces" and all 7" records being out of print for years, THE Draft has now teamed up with End Hits Records and Equal Vision Records to release a deluxe vinyl version on double vinyl. For the first time, you can find every track ever recorded by THE Draft: Included are the twelve album tracks, six songs featured on three 7" records, two unreleased demo versions, as well as four songs recorded during a radio session in the UK that have never been released before. Not only were all songs remastered specifically for vinyl by Brian McTernan, and detailed liner notes have been added to tell the band's history from beginning to end, but the packaging has also been completely overhauled. A special feature for collectors: the European and American versions come in different gatefold covers, which together form a complete work of art.

London group The Tubs return to Trouble In Mind with their hotly anticipated full-length album entitled "Dead Meat". The band were formed in 2018 from the ashes of beloved UK post-punk band Joanna Gruesome by former members Owen 'O' Williams and George 'GN' Nicholls. By incorporating elements of post-punk, traditional British folk, and guitar jangle seasoned by nonchalant Cleaners From Venus-influenced pop hooks and contemporary antipodean indie bands (Twerps/Goon Sax, et al)."Dead Meat" is resplendent in hi-fidelity strum & thrum, incorporating fleeting elements of post-punk and indie jangle, but the group's penchant for trad British folk & Canterbury folk-rock takes a noticeable, caffeinated step forward. Echoes of Fairport Convention's decidedly English chime cross swords with singer Owen Williams' lyrics directing Bryan Ferry's "thinking man's libertine" persona into a more dolorous outlook. Many songs (like "Round The Bend" and "Duped") soar with an urgent strum under Williams' acerbic lyrics, recalling a younger fiery Richard Thompson. They languish in an aching, bitter resignation (of both the situations described & the protagonist's place in it), particularly near the album's second half. Others like the previously released "I Don't Know How It Works", "Two Person Love" and "Illusion" (re-presented here as "Illusion Pt. II" and all rerecorded from their original 7-inch versions) up the urgency, implying that the journey for the person described in each tune is not over & may be even more desperate than before. The band has never been tighter & more dynamic, often imperceptibly ratcheting up the tension, an extra guitar strum overdubbed, a barely audible organ/synth cranking under a chorus or bridge, or unexpected backups from current Ex-Vöid (and ex-Joanna Gruesome) vocalist Lan McArdle. The Tubs are poised to take over your stereo - there's no point in resisting.

Formed in 1990 in New York City by Detroit-bred brothers Richard and Ed Baluyut and Texan Fontaine Toups, Versus named themselves after Mission Of Burma’s debut album. After recording a few singles on various labels, Let’s Electrify! was self-released by the band on CD and was out-of-print shortly thereafter. It was the first and last release on their Remora imprint. This is the first time it will be available on vinyl and the first time in 28 years that it will be available on any format.The six-song Let’s Electrify is their debut and was released September of 1993 just eight months before their stellar debut album, The Stars Are Insane. This is just as good and while it has six songs, it clocks in at a healthy 25 minutes. It was recorded by Adam Lasus (Yo La Tengo, Helium, Lilys). Remastered in 2021 by Scott Anthony of Storybook Sound. This marks a return to the Teen-Beat label for the band after stints with Merge and Caroline. The original line up is still together together and still based in New York. They released a new album in 2019 on the Ernest Jennings label. They will be playing live shows in the future when conditions allow.

Warning! was the only studio recorded document from the amazing hardcore band, The Latin Dogs, from Battle Creek, Michigan. This EP was released in 1982 and has never had a legitimate reissue until now. This remastered record is a perfect time capsule of punk becoming hardcore and original copies sell for several hundred dollars. This self-produced effort easily compares to the early hardcore punk released on Dischord Records or Touch and Go Records. From the ashes of some very seminal undiscovered punk bands such as the Brain Police, The Lips are Back, and The Itch, came The Latin Dogs. The band’s sole record was a DIY project paid for by the earnings of live performances. In those days it took many shows to get enough cash to pay for a pressing of a 7" record. It was recorded on a 4 track reel to reel and the sleeves were printed by a shady print shop that went out of business during the pressing, and the band had to break into the building to pick up the half-finished printed sleeves. This record put their early Political stance at attention. The power of a Marshall stack and Gibson SG backed by a Fender P bass with Ampegs at full volume, driven by a thin, wiry straight ahead drummer, fueled by a Jack Daniels drenched rebellious singer, gave this band a unique hardcore sound that was still reminiscent of an earlier punk sound. This powerful band, with two 6-foot guitarists, sandwiched a cocky, political, savvy singer who was not afraid of bold and precise statements. The Latin Dogs were deflected and rejected from popular punk circles, yet remained influential enough to carve out their own fan base in Grand Rapids, Detroit, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and east Lansing. They played on shows with bands like: Big Boys, Die Kreuzen, Negative Approach, Tar Babies, Channel 3, Violent Apathy, Destroy All Monsters, and others. If you’re looking for a band that embody everything hardcore punk should be, then you’re looking for Birds in Row. Sonically, they’re fearless. Lyrically, they’re as poetic as they are recusant. And live, they’re a ruthless force, matching the power of their music with boundless, must-see energy. After debut album You, Me & the Violence sparked listeners’ imaginations, 2018 follow-up We Already Lost the World was an unyielding inferno of brazen ideas. Metal Hammer UK called it “intelligent, poignant art,” writing that “this downward spiral changes pace and weight at every turn.” It screamed for mutual respect in a world of increasingly extreme political divides, and used the vehicles of punk, post-hardcore and post-metal to carry its cries. Now comes Gris Klein. Gris Klein’s lyrics were sculpted by the Covid-19 pandemic, eloquently summarizing the cruel and sometimes nonsensical nature of mental illness. “Trompe l’oeil”, for example, sings, “Most of the times I feel lonely are when my friends are around.” “This is the exact moment where you should feel like you’re surrounded by people you love and you’re not alone,” the band add. “It asks, ‘If I can’t feel loved in this specific moment, then when can I feel that?’” Gris Klein is a portrait of a world enduring its most chaotic era in a generation. Yet throughout, the Birds in Row manifesto is the same as it’s always been: love each other. “We really want people to know that they’re not alone, and that they can count on each other,” they say. “The way we treat each other is political. It’s OK to trust each other. All the movies about catastrophes show people turning against each other, but that’s not what would happen. When people are in the shit, they help each other. That’s what we’re trying to transmit with this record: hold each other’s hands.” Not even a world-shaking pandemic could damage Birds in Row’s invention, compassion and brutality. During the late 1970s, hardcore punk hit the surfer town of Huntington Beach, southeast of Los Angeles, like a gnarly wave. Spectre comes from Como, a small town in the north of Italy, just a few inches away from Switzerland. Heavily influenced by bands like Adolescents, T.S.O.L. and early Dead Kennedys, they recently changed their name in Spectre, adding a dark tone to their songs and a Christian Death (Rozz Williams era) feel, as stated by their promo tape “Love is Dead”, released in a small amount of copies last year. “Slow Emotional Death”, available on dark vinyl on September 1st 2024, will be the second release of the newborn Venti3 label. The Twerks started in Sesto San Giovanni, on the outskirts of Milan, in 2013, with members coming from previous bands of the same area. The Hamburg-based label Last Exit Music continues the reissue series of the "German skatepunk pioneers", this time with the fourth NOT Available album Grandpunks from 2017. Founded in 1992, NOT Available are still active in 2022 and are often mentioned in the same breath as Venerea, Satanic Surfers or NO FUN AT ALL when it comes to the most popular bands of the genre in Europe. The guys from Baden-Württemberg have given themselves six years since the predecessor work "v8". Six years in which you can finally process what you have experienced on the numerous tours at home and abroad; six years to practice adult things. And six years to work on 5 Aces, which turns out to be a real stroke of luck after the first hearing. The songs have become more mature without despising the classic trademark sound. Seven years after that the band released record #5, NO Excuses! Three years later, Grandpunks, the band's sixth album, was released. The limited LP edition was sold out in no time at the time, which is why Last Exit Music has now re-pressed this gem again on blue vinyl. Limited to 200 pieces!

Lick is the third full-length album by the Lemonheads, and the last to feature founding member Ben Deily. It was the group's last independent label-released album before signing to major label Atlantic. An odd mixture of brand-new, and considerably older, sounds, 1989’s Lick brings together the output of several distinct recording sources: six brand new songs recorded with Minneapolis-based band friend and producer Terry Katzman, and a collection of older, B-side and never-released material originally overseen by producer and engineer Tom Hamilton.

Youth Brigade is an American hardcore punk band formed in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, in 1980 by the brothers Mark, Adam, and Shawn Stern. The band subsequently founded BYO (Better Youth Organization) as well. The band’s first year of existence was as a six-piece, but they played their first gig as a three-piece on New Year’s Eve 1981 at Godzilla’s nightclub. They were also part of the big BYO extravaganza “Youth Movement ’82” at the Hollywood Palladium, where 3,500 people showed up for an all-Los Angeles bill. In the summer of 1982, after recording three tracks for the first BYO record release, Someone Got Their Head Kicked In compilation, Youth Brigade set out in a big yellow school bus on an ambitious 30-city North American tour with fellow punk band Social Distortion. The now classic 1984 film Another State Of Mind chronicled the event. A premature version of Sound & Fury had been rushed together before the Another State Of Mind tour, but pressing was stopped at 800 copies as the band was not satisfied with the quality of the material and production. After about 30 shows and several breakdowns, they returned home to re-record their debut LP, Sound & Fury, with the legendary record producer Thom Wilson, keeping only four tracks from the original. Sound & Fury, the follow-up version, is now considered one of the greatest punk records of all time not just because of the songs and cultural context, but because it features the hit songs “Sink With California,” “Blown Away,” “Men In Blue (Part 1),” and “What Will The Revolution Change.” Sound & Fury has been remastered from the original analog tapes by Dave Gardner.

That true beauty lies in the essentiality and meticulous combination of a few elements is sometimes not just a cliché. The delicate blend of Roland Cr-78, acoustic guitar and dissonant organs that intertwine in Open Windows is a vivid demonstration of this. In the 8 canvases of Open Windows the folk tradition is repainted in a more contemporary guise: the sweet and sad litanies are alternated with fast and frenetic stornelli in which the combination of tradition and experimentation constitutes the stylistic signature. The open window through which the listener has the opportunity to look out in this album does not, however, give onto a natural external panorama. How many hardcore, let alone metal, bands exceed all previous efforts on their third LP? Some might argue that 'Feel The Darkness' was Poison Idea's prime. You could present 'Master Of Puppets' and 'Reign In Blood', if you're so inclined. Let's face it, these are a dying breed of exceptions to the rule. And yet, like an icepick in the eye socket of logic, here stands Foreseen with 'Untamed Force'. In the landmine ridden field that is crossover, where bands can all too easily get it so wrong, Foreseen not only survive the death sentence of their sophomore record "Grave Danger" (2017), but head out on a blunt force killing spree. Originally released on cd only on the glorious Lookout! label in 1998, this six tracker shook the punk rock world. Kronstadt Uprising took their name from the uprising at the Kronstadt Naval Base in 1921. Lenin referred to the incident as “the flash that lit up reality better than anything else”.

Formed in Southend-On Sea, Essex in 1981, Kronstadt Uprising survived six turbulent years with many members coming and going. However, far from being a negative factor, it produced a very stimulating and creative environment that lead to an ever evolving musical style that can be heard on this CD.

Founder member Steve Pegrum was encouraged by the self-empowerment message and ethos of punk rock. In 1979 he acquired a drum kit and formed several punk bands. By 1981 the scene was starting to fragment. The area of punk that now interested Steve was that which stayed true to the original DIY ethic and this developing scene encouraged Steve to form Kronstadt Uprising.

By November 1981 the band were ready to record. They recorded nine tracks and sent the tape to Crass who decided to use ‘Receiver Deceiver’ on Bullshit Detector Vol. 2, released in September 1982. Also in 1982 the band recorded ‘The Unknown Revolution’ EP under the production of John Loder and Derek Birkett at Southern Studios for Spiderleg Records. The record was eventually released a year later.

Late 1983/1984 saw the band move away from the confines of the current punk scene and concentrate on writing new material. However, after three years various members felt they had progressed as far as they could and in March 1984 they played their final concert in London.

In the Summer of 1984 Steve decided he wanted to continue playing, so a new Kronstadt Uprising emerged with a totally new line-up. In April 1985 they recorded the ‘Part Of The Game’ EP for local Dog Rock Records. The band continued to gig and increased their fan base, but diversifying music tastes within the band took their toll and they eventually decided to call it a day in 1987.

Always true to punk, but never happy being genericised or put into any kind of musical straightjacket, this CD shows the ever-evolving Kronstadt sound.

Legendary Finnish hardcore punk band Bastards’ discography to be released in a glorious box set in December

Bastards was one of the first Finnish hardcore punk bands coming from Finland in the early 80’s. The band released three albums between 1982-1983: Harhaa (1982, originally only on cassette tape), Järjetön maailma (1983) and Siberian Hardcore (1983). Propaganda Records, the oracle of its time, released the Maailma palaa ja kuolee EP when the band was still active, and some single tracks also appeared on Finnish and international compilations.

Bastards gained international attention and were the first Finnish hardcore band to tour Europe, yet they still ended up quitting the band in December 1983 after just a few active years. Svart Records have now put together all the recorded material by Bastards. Arctic Hardcore – Complete Studio Recordings & Rare Rehearsal Tapes -box set was done as a tight co-operation between the record company and members of the band. The nearly four-hour long compilation contains 136 songs, of which fifty are never released versions or completely unheard material, until now. The box set also contains a thick booklet with the band’s history, lyrics, complete song information and a lot of photos from the band’s active years.

With One Day, Fucked Up have delivered one of the most energizing and intricate albums of their entire career, a massive-sounding record that arrives in deceptively small confines. Dehumanization is the only full length album from the band Crucifix. Recorded in 1983, it is considered a classic American hardcore album and a landmark of anarcho-punk. Dehumanization delivers a raging critique of war, violence, displacement, and the decimation of human rights and human dignity—themes at once global in scope and also completely endemic to Reagan-era America. The intensity of this message is matched only by the intensity of the sound: a heavy minimalist construction built on brutal guitar riffs, low-end distortion, hardcore fury and teenage speed. It is an album of pure raw power, a hot blast of personal and political outrage and musical adrenaline. Fusing California hardcore with metal and second wave British anarcho-punk, Crucifix carved out their own highly distinctive wall of sound on this release. Ignoring the rules of punk purism in favor of a well produced huge guitar sound, the album preceded much of the hardcore metal crossover of the mid-80s and played an influential but often unacknowledged role in the punk and metal subgenres that followed. “Annihilation,” the album’s opening track, has become iconic. Quoted often, it’s been sampled by Orbital and covered by A Perfect Circle and Sepultura. The original vinyl version of Dehumanization was released on the Crass Records offshoot label Corpus Christi in the UK, and has been out of print since the 1980s. This new Kustomized rerelease has been carefully remastered from an original vinyl source and adheres closely to the audio quality of the original. In addition, the six-panel foldout poster sleeve has been reproduced in its entirety. Taken together, the words, music and graphics of Dehumanization form a complete work and a resonant and enduring document of the period.

Sorry State is excited to bring you a repress of one of the best hardcore records ever, Koro's 1983 7" EP. Originally released in a small, self-released pressing, over the decades this monster's reputation has continued to grow, and collectors now have to fork over well over a grand for an original pressing. This one is too good for the scum to keep to themselves, though, a hyper-compact explosion of energy that can hold its own next to any landmark early 80s hardcore punk record you want to compare it to. Sorry State's 2023 pressing aims to replicate the original look and feel of the original as closely as possible, with an offset-printed sleeve on legal size paper. It's as close as you can get to the original without missing a mortgage payment.

In January 1983, Minor Threat went into Inner Ear Studio for the first time as a five-piece (Brian Baker had moved from bass to second guitar and Steve Hansgen was now playing bass). They had six new songs that would end up being the center piece of what became the Out of Step 12" EP. The band had also decided to re-record the song "Out of Step" with some extra language to try to clarify the lyrics, as well as "Cashing In", a tongue-in-cheek song about the DC punk scene which they had only played live once. After much debate, "Cashing In" was added as a hidden track on the original vinyl release though not listed on the cover or label. There was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with the working title, "Addams Family" and then recorded new versions of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a coda to "Cashing In", but the other two songs were never mixed and largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken into the studio to be digitized in 2021. Surprised by the discovery, Ian and Don Zientara mixed the two songs along with the complete take of "Addams Family". These outtakes are now being released on a 7" to mark the 40th anniversary of the release of Out of Step.

Kaleidoscope are a rare group, having continually evolved and expanded in form since their inception. Volume 3 marks the first Kaleidoscope release of 2017, a masterfully crafted follow-up to several cassette releases on their own D4MT Labs imprint and a 7” EP on Katorga Works. Since then, the three members of Kaleidoscope have taken up residency in a shared Brooklyn apartment and basement studio. In doing so, their collective spirit of creativity and resourcefulness has risen to an all-time high. The six tracks on Volume 3 serve as a testament to the group's unique and unwavering commitment to an original sound—one that is undoubtedly crafted with a well-refined taste for international punk and hardcore, but also embraces experimentation. Engineered entirely in the group's home studio and layered with original samples, overdubs, and guest instrumentation from an ensemble of friends. The end result is simple—a highly impressive production that commands repeat listening. Volume 3 is presented with the recognizable aesthetic of previous Kaleidoscope releases, directed by guitarist/vocalist INFORMATION MAN [SHDK], though truly a cohesive group effort. Packaged with a Risographed lyric booklet that serves as a proper companion piece to each transmission.

THE Welders were an all-female Punk Pop band from St. Louis, MO. Formed by four young, teenage women in 1975; they started playing shows in 1976, in one of the toughest climates to get booked for bands playing original material. The Welders bonded over their love of The Monkees, The Beatles and early glam rock. The comedy of the National Lampoon Radio Hour and the Marx Brothers were just as big of an influence. The band played several shows in the St. Louis metro area and eventually caught the attention of a local photographer and newspaper owner. He financed a recording session in 1979, with plans to release a four song EP. The newspaper folded before the release could happen, and all that survived was a cassette copy of the recordings. The Welders continued for a couple more years after recording the EP. They had brief line up changes, and added an organ which shifted their sound more towards a '60s garage pop sound. They were ahead of their time again, pre-dating most of the neo-garage explosion of the '80s. By 1981, the band had moved on to other interests. In 2010 BDR Records (a sub-label of Rerun, designated for St. Louis area artists) issued that previously unreleased EP. The EP was well received worldwide and has been sold out for several years. This new collection includes a newly remastered and improved version of the 1979 EP tracks, along with other studio, rehearsal and live recordings. The LP includes a large, six panel insert filled with amazing photos of the band.

The six new songs on Sanitary Situations continue where Gym Tonic started their way to the top with the 2019 full length Good Job. Like their long-time touring siblings Lassie, they know, that it is indeed a long way. But the proof, that they're on the right track is right here. Drawing inspiration from their everyday lives or the world around, the new record is their usual merging of post-punk with new wave and 80’s synth music, worshipping their masterminds Devo. It includes themes such as addiction, contagious diseases, sexual harassment and the relations between human mind and technology. At times comical, satirical or tragic their songs are always very lively and absolutely floorfillers. Gym Tonic: now more than ever.

Reno, NV, hardcore legends Fall Silent return with the full-length You Knew I Was Poison. Founding members Danny Galecki, Damon Watson, and Levi Watson join bass player Joe Foley to bring you more aggressive “fastcore” that you have come to expect from this outfit. From 1994–2017, Fall Silent released three full-lengths; No Strength To Suffer (1996), Superstructure (1999), and Drunken Violence (2002), three EPs; Never Forget... (1995), Nineteenhundredninetyseven (1997), Life: Beautiful, But Heartless (2000), a split with Wellington (1995) and Six Years In The Desert (2001), which was a re-mastered collection of No Strength To Suffer, Nineteenhundredninetyseven and Life: Beautiful, But Heartless all on one CD. Most recently, their Cart Return 7” EP was released in 2017. Their not-so-subtle brand of metal tinged hardcore is what put them on the aggressive music map. Compiling all EPs by Bootlicker, Lick The Boot, Lose Your Teeth presents 24 tracks originally released over four 7"s dating back to 2017. From the earliest incarnation of the band and the start of their signature production and sound to where they are now. With the overblown martial drumming, completely pinned clean guitar attack, Bootlicker has been a fresh take on D-Beat tradition with a handful of Oi/UK82 and American Hardcore influence on the side. Each 7" is compiled here and represents a different phase of the band. The completely broken speaker aggression of "Who Do You Serve", the slight Rock 'n' Roll influenced "Nuclear Family" and bare bones approach of the "Six Track E.P." all paved the way to a more realized sound in "How To Live Life". Instead of tracking down each out of print, individual E.P. Here they are for the taking.

Death Sentence was certainly a band of its time as the looks of the boys suggest with their boots, studded jackets and spiky hair. The four songs on this Ep epitomize everything to love about that genre. It is fast and basic, it is sloppy, it is snottier than a six-year old on a rainy day, it is pissed, spontaneous and distorted.

Perry Dear & THE DearSTALKERS have become one of the most "in demand" groups on the big beat scene, with one of the most distinctive sounds in Europe today. After several singles and a fantastic debut LP "Six-String Holiday", the talented Norwegian quartet spent two days at London's famed Toe Rag Studio recording their second LP, Oh Dear! Its jaw-dropping sound will capture your heart in an instant.

While the average person might think of Buffalo, NY, for its frigid winters and its contributions to the world of professional football, the initiated know Buffalo best for its outsized role in hardcore’s history. The city has produced more than its fair share of genre-defining acts, not least of which was the criminally short-lived, under-documented, and wildly innovative Cinderblock, whose members would go on to such legendary bands as Snapcase, Buried Alive, Earth Crisis, Terror, and more. Thirty years after their initial existence, Cinderblock has reconvened in order to commit their music to vinyl for the first time. Breathe The Fire is a collection of six songs originally conceived in the early ’90s, re-recorded by the band with accomplished producer Jay Zubricky at the helm. With tight grooves, adept melodic sensibilities, and a pummeling heaviness that presaged nearly the entire breadth of ’90s hardcore, the record is a critical document of one of hardcore’s most exciting and transitional periods. It’s not often that a band is afforded the opportunity to retroactively cement their legacy as pioneers, but Cinderblock has more than earned that right, and Breathe The Fire firmly cements their long overdue place in the hardcore canon.

Outerwear were a more primitive, less ambitious offshoot of Cleveland's Spike in Vain, which means the rhythm section was so crappy that simple songs were a necessity and they took an inordinate amount of pride in just badly they sucked. In fact, sucking was so much the point that once the band had become "kind of good," they mummified themselves in gauze at their final shows so their hands couldn't function nor could they see their instruments. This, along with painfully long versions of their slowest songs were enough to drive more than 200+ audience members from a hall show when opening for Social Unrest. Perhaps Outerwear's finest moment, aside from the day they were somehow allowed into a recording studio to record their 1983 cassette album, The Outerwear Limits, which against all odds, is fairly compelling. Given that Chris Marec of Spike in Vain sang, played guitar, and wrote all the songs, there's six string insanity in spades, and the morbid tales of amateur coroners and being buried alive somehow contain genuine hooks. Yes, you will find yourself singing along to "Bloody Toilet Paper," banging your head to "Fountain of Scuz," and then scratching it as you puzzle through the backwards guitar and trombone of "Piss II." But wait, there's more! Power tools! Tuba! Cello solos! Or how about the absolute worst version of the Ohio Players' "Fire" ever recorded by man? Amateur home lobotomy may become an attractive new hobby, because you'll want to remove the parts of your brain that might remember this track. That, or listen to their cover of the Doors' "The End," which could do the job on its own (and doesn't include any of the actual music from the song). These are just a few among the many torturous pleasures the listener will "enjoy" on a great aural adventure, as they experience the awe and mystery of The Outerwear Limits.

Rocket 455 is a Flamin' Groovies-loving garage rock band formed in Detroit in 1992 after the breakup of local scene essentials The Nervo Beats. Although this was Rocket 455's third single, it was the first that featured the new, longest and current line up, including founding member Marco Delicato back in the fold as well as Steve ''Disco'' Nawara from the Electric Six. This 7'' was released on Devil's Night in 1997 and is notable as the first record ever produced and released by Italy Records.

Prior to his release this record was simply ‘labeled’ as Punk-Rock but this one comes from the New York Dolls side of Glam Punk. Storm the Gates of Heaven reveals unusual aspects of County's work: serious, reflective and profound. The monologue introducing the title track is the only part that may be considered offensive. The sound is a blend of bass, lead & rhythm guitar, drums & percussion by the versatile Electric Chairs. Embellished by Hammond organ, the title track rages against and laments the suffering caused by religious wars. Cry Of Angels is an eloquent, even anthemic defense of Enlightenment values on which the guitar textures and the hook around the chorus superbly complement one another. An artful blend of County's characteristic outrage and the pure pop genius that lay behind the garish accoutrements, Storm the Gates of Heaven jams its eight tracks between two undisguised classics, the anthemic title track and a so-optimistic reading of "Tomorrow Is Another Day, not to mention a stunning cover-version of the Electric Prune´s "I had too much to dream last Night"

Over the years Self Defense Family's revolving lineup and improvisational writing process has led to the band often recording new music while on tour, putting the focus on capturing a specific moment between the current collaborators.
