Over the past 20 years The Peawees from La Spezia, Italy became a household name in the European rock ‘n’ roll scene, with 5 albums and multiple 45’s under their belt, and having shared the stage with bands like The Sonics, The Dictators, Radio Birdman, The Damned, The Dwarves, and many others. Started, back in 1995, as a straight forward punk rock band, over the years the sound of The Peawees got richer and richer, influenced by garage rock, rhythm ‘n’ blues and more, but always recognizable as The Peawees within seconds, not in the last place thanks to their singer Hervé’s warm, soulful voice. In 2001 the band released their third album, ‘Dead End City’, which is considered a classic by fans all over the world. The album includes their ‘underground hit’ ‘Cause You Don’t Know Me’, which was covered half a dozen times by bands like Califorian punk rockers the Groovie Ghoulies and Swiss country band The Hero Brothers.

Horror Vacui are back with a long awaited new release. Their unique blend of death rock and post punk needs no further introduction: with 4 records, countless releases and tours worldwide, the unstoppable 5 pieces painted the underground world in dark shadows during their decade of existence. A recent line up change (that now sees former guitar player Marzia on drums) and two brand new songs that will make you ask for more. A tasty prelude to the long awaited new full length due soon in 2024.

14 month after their debut album, the Berlin based horrorific stench core army is back with a new four tracks Mini LP. The songs are longer, heavier and gloomier than the ones on the previous release but they don't lose their violence, power and speed. Elements of black metal pop up between the heavier classic stenchy parts and the faster crustcore ones. Listening to this new songs makes me think these guys are definitely sitting on the throne of Olympus of crust! What a hell of a fucking release! I just can't wait to listen to the next one.

Step TO Freedom is a Russian band that began their difficult journey in a land that doesn't want them at the beginning of the last decade and that defines itself as Crust punk underground front! Against state control! They released their first self produced cassette "Social Zombies" in 2014, later reissued by Audacious Madness Records (U.S.A.) together with their second album called "Cemetery For The Humaniknd" (originally out in 2018 on Makima Records, also from Russia) in 2021. After one EP on tape and a 7", both respectively released in 2019 and 2023 by Blown Out Media Records (U.S.A.), they are back with what, in my opinion, is their best release so far. The monolithic sound of their new recordings suggests a maturation of the group both from a compositional point of view and from that of awareness of the use of effects and mastery of the instruments they play. I felt like a tank had rolled over my back after I first listened to this album. Granitic stench core meets crust core with a touch of death metal here and there all packed in a clear recording which allows us to imagine the difficult moment that the guys are going through, forced into the prison of the institutions that govern their state. Fans of Amebix, Axegrinder, Deviated Instinct, Hellshock and Instinct Of Survival will love this.

The Twerks started in Sesto San Giovanni, on the outskirts of Milan, in 2013, with members coming from previous bands of the same area. Largely influenced by the sound of 70’s and 90’s, they mix punk rock with power pop elements. Their first studio experience dates back to 2014, a six-song EP called “Rat Race”. Two years later they released their first full-length, “Kinky Boredom”, published by Rocketman Recordings on CD. After a two years hiatus and with a new line-up as a trio, they come back with a cassette-only release, “(No) Opinion”, full of guests from the Italian punk rock scene. On September 1st, 2024, they will make a full comeback with a single-sided white vinyl: “A Private Display of Trouble” will be the first release of the new label Venti3. A powerful mix of 90’s punk rock and power pop with both female and male vocals, infectious melodies, singalong choruses and insightful lyrics. (Set your) stereo on fire…

UxB is a new band formed by the members and driving force behind the influential punk band US Bombs. After parting ways with original vocalist over conflicting political views in 2015, Kerry Martinez (Shattered Faith, Bad Luck Charms) Wade Walston (Suburbia, DI, Agent Orange) Chip Hanna (One Man Army, Weirdos, Tsol) have teamed up with legendary front man and show stealing performer Jesse Wagner (The Aggrolites). The result is extraordinary. With their timeless old school song writing, blistering guitars, and vocals, UxB’s debut album West World Crisis is destined to be a classic. The album’s overall theme is about the world’s current climate and technology’s influence. Songs from the album’s title track “West World Crisis” to “Only Life” are lyrics that remind all of us to step back while songs like “Dance live Dance” and “Cosmic Reaction (She’s so Real”) tell us to enjoy life while we can and find love in the simple things around us. Overall UxB is a coming together of amazing songwriters, superb musicians and excellent vocals that is sure to excite punk fans for years to come.

You’ll find a new version of their hit « Shenanigans » along with 11 new bangers.

Classic Black vinyl, 1000 pressed. Arguably one of the best punk albums of the 70s, The Boys self-titled debut (produced by Dangerfield & Steel) is a cult UK classic. The album is filled with the pop punk gems, the kind of immediate salvos that would elevate Buzzcocks into the charts. In the intervening years, the history of punk rock has been written and re-written and a whole heap of bands have been sidelined. The Boys’ debut album, re-mastered here still sounds as fresh and immediate as it did back then and it also includes two classic punk rock singles in ‘I Don’t Care’ and ‘First Time’ (the latter, along with The Undertones "Teenage Kicks", the ultimate punk anthem of teenage romance and adolescent angst). Along with the Sex Pistols, Clash and the Damned, The Boys were part of the first wave of the mid-1970’s UK punk explosion. Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977 and subsequently released two albums, their self-titled debut and the follow-up “Alternative Chartbusters” in quick succession. Highly regarded by the music press and their contemporaries, yet somehow criminally ignored by a wider punk audience, unable to grasp their heritage of vintage rock ‘n’ roll that went back to Chuck Berry courtesy of The Beatles. Their well-crafted songs, together with Steel and Dangerfield’s layered harmonies, even led to them being described as ‘The Beatles of Punk’.

Classic Black vinyl, 1000 pressed. A punk classic, gloriously anthemic power pop from the cult UK outfit. On 17 March 1978, a mere six months after the release of their self-titled debut, The Boys second album “Alternative Chartbusters” was released (once again, produced by Dangerfield & Steel). As AllMusic recognises, “Alternative Chartbusters” was way ahead of its time, a buried treasure that only got dusted off much later: “Condemned at the time for offering up little more than a straight carbon copy of its predecessor, the second Boys’ album has since ascended to the pantheon of power pop greats, a combination of the band's own inestimable position at the forefront of what, by early 1978, was already a burgeoning movement, and their seemingly effortless grasp of the rudiments of, indeed, a great pop song.” Along with the Sex Pistols, Clash and the Damned, The Boys were part of the first wave of the mid-1970’s UK punk explosion. Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977 and subsequently released two albums, their self-titled debut and the follow-up “Alternative Chartbusters” in quick 7 succession. Pressed in an ultra limited number of 200 back in 1980. Ervin Berlin was the work of Ervin Shuemake (a late 20s acid rocker) and two young punks named Jeff and TOM THE Bomb. Ervin had cut his teeth playing guitar on the crazy Terry Brooks "strange" Translucent World LP back in 1973 and spent the remainder of the 70s in various acid, hard, and prog rock bands throughout Central Florida. He met the younger punk duo of Jeff and "The Bomb" at end of 79 beginning of 80 and decided to take a stab at the punk craze with his two new acquaintances. Soon the trio was at a country and western studio in Winter Haven recording the Ervin Berlin single between sessions for possible Bellamy Brothers tracks. The blending of Ervin's acid rock chops and Jeff and Tom's thuggish punk approach resulted in this KBD space punk stomper. Equal parts Blue Cheer, Debris, Sacramento's Ozzie, and late 70s Hawkind. The 7" was pressed, a few house parties were played, and all parties went separate ways. 42 years later we are kicking off Total Punk Archives with a reissue of this lost Orlando classic. 100% Total Punk!!

When The Steves' two extremely limited (maybe 100-200 of each?) EPs were released back in 1980 and '81 respectively, the squares around Harvard's newsroom were aghast at the audacity of this group. Having the stones to release such crudely-rhythmic, near mechanical and downright terse tunes in the day's often long winded prog rockin' ballad heavy radio reality that were too robotic to be “punk” and too unruly to be anything but was, to say the least, a bold move. Sure to cause an uproar in the halls, protests in the classroom and uninvited dancing in the streets! In the annals of New England's rock journalism, there is not a mountain of coverage on The Steves, certainly not as much as the Alan Parsons Project or Aerosmith, but the fact remains that they were a fully charged powder keg of raw energy and new musical direction that seemed to elude most of the world back then. Not to say they didn't get any light shone on them, they did get a fair amount of airplay on the college stations around Boston and even appeared on the cover of Boston Rock magazine. It is Iron Lung Records' distinct pleasure to offer the modern world a new chance to discover the ever vital and effervescent music of The Steves' initial EPs along with a third EP of songs never released on vinyl until now that were recorded at the time or shortly after the initial sessions. A true synth-punk/KBD treasure. Obscurity is for suckers. Let's get shakin'! 700 copies of each EP on black 70gr vinyl housed in a 12pt reverse board glue pocket sleeve with faithful reproductions of the original art. Originally produced by V. Ray, Darlene Wilson and The Steves. Remastered by John Golden in 2023. These reissues are dedicated to Steve Arey, a great drummer and the original steve.

Jackpot Records is proud to reissue what many call arguably the greatest album of the punk rock era: The Flesh Eaters’ 1981 punk-noir masterpiece, ‘ A Minute To Pray A Second To Die.

Once referred to as an all-star roots/voodoo combo, The Flesh Eaters could only have crawled out of the myst of the late L.A. 70s punk scene. Fronted by punk poet/composer Chris D. (Desjardins), the band was a satellite for exquisite collaborators that allowed him to bring the full force of his dark, messed-up lyrical nightmares. Members of X, Wall Of Voodoo, Los Lobos, The Blasters, and The Plugz all hopped into his unmarked car to take a drive with Chris D.

Its grabbed-by-the-throat vocals are powerfully buoyed by the tight melodicism emanating from the players on this record (John Doe andDJ Bonebrake from X, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, Dave Alvin & Bill Bateman of The Blasters). Hell, we even get the perfectly executed John Doe original, “Cyrano de Berger’s Back,” which was re-recorded by X in 1987

The creators of this record made a pulp novel for your ears with an equal chance to scar your heart. Do not miss out—this is punk noir at its greatest. Artwork, One Sheet and Wholesale Catalog Attached

Limited 500, Comes With Full Reproduction Of The Three Original Inserts In A Poster Insert! Southern Los Angeles experimental punk band Mood of Defiance was formed in Hermosa Beach in 1981, spinning off from a short-lived synthesizer project called Kindled Imagination, formed in nearby San Pedro (home to The Minutemen) with drummer Richie Wilder of Saccharine Trust. Teenaged lead singer and band originator Rachel Morgan, who was known as “Screaming Bitch Rachel” and later, Hatha Watha, formed MOD with Wilder, recruiting initial guitarist TA Black and bassist Kevin Ball from a music press advertisement. Debut demo recordings (eventually issued as In A Box) featured this line-up but after Black and Ball quit the band, they were replaced by Danny Dean Philips and Gary Kail from the band Anti, moonlighting in this side project for debut album Now, released on Philips’ and Kail’s aptly-titled New Underground label in 1982; other band members featured on the disc include drummer Thaddeus. Opener “Divided States Of America” set the disc’s defiant punk tone, though “Sticky Lips” and “Girl In A Painting” are less caustic, with broader musical dexterity and post-punk rhythmic references. An important piece of southern Calfornia punk history back on vinyl after 38 years.

Formed in late 1977 in Darlington, UK, legendary punkers Major Accident were initially influenced by the Pistols and the Clash. A very sad fate befell their early studio activities: both their first recording sessions in 1980, which was supposed to be their debut single (Terrorist Gang/War Boots) and the following one, which produced a completely mucked-up, unusable first edition of this LP, remained unreleased for years. It took until late 1982 for their first proper release to see the light of day: produced by Donkeys guitarist Neil Ferguson, their debut album Massacred Melodies finally came out on Step Forward, supported by a full UK tour with label-mates Chelsea. The distinctive 'Clockwork Orange' image (they were the first punk band to adopt the look from Kubrick's famous movie, which was banned in the UK at the time and impossible to see anywhere) and their song writing, by far more peculiar than the average Uk82 punk band, allowed them to grow a sizable following, and their classic sleeve artwork by Paul Dillon started appearing on the back of more than a few black leather jackets.

In the late ’70s, The Avengers established themselves as one of the US’s preeminent punk bands. Fusing incisive guitar hooks, explosive rhythms and adolescent venom, the group forged some of the most in-your-face songs of the era. Their live shows were legendary, playing up and down the West Coast and even blowing Sex Pistols off the stage at the latter’s final performance.

As Byron Coley writes in the liner notes, “Of the best bands of San Francisco’s first wave in 1977, The Avengers were by far the coolest and youngest sounding. They roared without irony, as though this were indeed Year Zero (and, for a moment, it was), with history being overwritten by the new. The honesty of their belief was carried by their sound. And it was convincing!”

Originally released in 1983, four years after the band’s dissolution, The Avengers’ self-titled LP is often referred to as “The Pink Album” for its magenta-hued cover design. Frontwoman Penelope Houston’s iconic voice and razor-sharp lyrics resonate on anthems “We Are The One” and “The American In Me,” while penetrating ballads like “Corpus Christi” reveal a truly out-of-body euphony.

The Pink Album remains The Avengers’ definitive statement—collecting their classic Dangerhouse EP, sessions recorded with the Pistols’ Steve Jones and a half-dozen revelatory demos. While much has been written about The Avengers in the past three decades, rock critic Greil Marcus puts it succinctly, “The word I always come back to is mystical, and that remains almost theirs alone.”

The Varukers were one of the first groups of the UK 82 movement - the second generation of punk rock that took the spirit of ’77 and merged it with the incessant beat of Nwobhm – responsible for creating UK hardcore. Heavily inspired by Discharge, The Varukers released three 7”s in the early ‘80s before this, their first and most definitive album, came out in 1983 on the legendary Riot City Records (Vice Squad, Abrasive Wheels, Chaos U.K.). Back in print on LP, thanks to Audioplatter, Bloodsuckers is one of the definitive pieces of early UK hardcore, full of Sabbath inspired guitar work, pounding rhythms and aggressive anarchistic lyrical content. “In November of 1982, I went into the studio with Government Issue to record what was to be their first full-length album. Up until that time, they had only released the Legless Bull 7-inch EP, and the tape they recorded early 1982 would take over a year and a half to be released as the Make An Effort 7-inch EP. The members of G.I. excelled at driving each other crazy and there was a lot of arguing, but still we had a great session at Inner Ear and we managed to track 20 songs in one day. From the beginning the band had been divided on what to record, and it was only after much debate that they decided to leave off the material they had recorded with the earlier line-ups and only put out 10 new songs. In early 1983 Dischord was strapped for cash, meaning that we could only work on one release at a time. Since all of our money was tied up with the manufacturing of Minor Threat’s Out of Step 12-inch EP, the G.I. record would have to wait. A new DC label, Fountain of Youth expressed an interest in releasing Boycott Stabb, so it was decided to do a ‘split-label’ record. In this case, Fountain of Youth put up the money and we let them use the Dischord Records name to help with context and distribution. It has since been reissued on a number of different labels and formats, but after coming across the master tapes and hearing the songs that had been left off, we thought it would be cool to release the complete session, and to fi nally release the record on Dischord proper. In going through the tapes, I discovered that most of the outtake songs were never mixed, so earlier this year I took the recordings back into the studio. Hearing the separated tracks amazed me. Such great playing and songs! With the technological advances in the recording world making multi-tracking and overdubbing so common, it’s easy to forget that studios could also be used as something more akin to a photo-booth, capturing what was happening at that very moment. Most of the early Dischord sessions were essentially ‘live’ recordings, so the bands had to be able to play, and because the budgets were minuscule, they had to get the songs down in short order. G.I. stepped up on both counts.”—Ian MacKaye, August 2010.

Some records so perfectly capture an artist at a critical point in their creativity, and make such an impact, that they become not just synonymous with the band, but an essential piece of music history. Such is the case with Shock Troops, the album that not only became Cock Sparrer’s most acclaimed record, but a defining moment for Oi!, punk rock, and underground music in general! Originally released by Razor Records in 1983, Shock Troops proved to consist of song after song which would each become anthems of the burgeoning Oi! scene and far beyond. From the opening of “Where Are They Now?” on through “Take ‘Em All,” “We’re Coming Back,” all the way to the closing chords of “Out On An Island,” there isn’t a song in the bunch that any self respecting punk rocker can’t shout along to. These working class anthems are just as vital today, as proven by the crowds of beloved fans worldwide that continue to go wild at Sparrer’s live shows, where Shock Troops tracks still make up the heart of their setlists. For nearly 15 years, Pirates Press Records has made certain this classic stayed in print, in an absolutely stunning assortment of coloured vinyl pressings. In celebration of the band’s 50th year, we were proud to present a remastered version of Shock Troops, from the original 1⁄4” tapes, sounding better than ever! Jesus Was Born in a Mobile Home, a cassette release from the fall of 1984, represents Spike in Vain's first attempt at a second album. Recorded shortly after the release of Disease Is Relative in January 1984, the original group returned to The Island and laid down tracks for nine songs, with a focus on the band's earliest material. Most of these songs were written before those that appeared on the debut album, so the tape functions as a prequel to the debut even though it was recorded afterwards. Some of the tracks have a more traditional hardcore approach than the first album, but there is still the trademark coloring outside the lines for which the group is known. And of course it's mostly quite dark, with the majority of songs addressing death or paralyzing fear. Not long after recording basic tracks, drummer Bruce Allen announced his plans to cut ties and focus on his own group. It was decided to quickly finish the recordings anyway, release them on cassette, and try again later when another drummer was found. Since one of the songs was rejected and the rest only added up to 20 minutes, it was decided to include additional random material to fill out the tape. But what glorious "filler" that turned out to be! There's the very first performance of "Ugly and Damaged" from the band's first gig in early 1983. And "Love Isn't Hollow" from a 1981 rehearsal tape featuring Bruce completely shredding on guitar, the only known recording of this embryonic version of the band. Rounded out with rousing live takes of the Stooges' "Real Cool Time" and a newer song, "Deathstyle," what seemed like random extras at the time of release now seem like prescient grave-robbing. They would've been lost by now had they not been issued back then.

Punk only hit Italy in 1980, and the hardcore scene followed straight after confirming itself as one of the most active and interesting scenes in the world. Back in the day most of the bands came from the north of the country, among them: Negazione, a Turin based band which soon became one of the crucial Punk-Hardcore realities in Europe. Originally released by German label We Bite Records in 1988, "Little Dreamer" was Negazione's second album. Compared to their debut release this second effort shows a first step towards a more eclectic sound approach where thanks also to an evident growth in terms of technical skills the band's original inflamed energy opens up to a wider expressive variety of speeds and dynamics.

Founded in 1982, the CRACK didn't release their debut album until 1989. These British punkers were often tied into the Oi! scene of the mid-80s along with Cockney Rejects, and The Business, they had more in common with the melodic punk stylings of 999 and mod groups like The Jam or Secret Affair. Featuring a blistering wall of guitars and biting melodies, from the classic album opener "My World" to the raw closer "The Giddy House" The Crack deliver ten fantastic original tunes that, while firmly rooted in 1980s UK anthemic punk, also features a pop sensibility that presages the oncoming Brit-pop scene that would absolutely dominate the '90s. Seriously, we'd bet the farm that the young Gallagher brothers were blasting this back in 1989. Absolutely essential 1980s UK punk that bridges the gap between 80s OI! and the Brit-pop/power-pop revival. Killer.

Simply put, this is one of the key releases of both the crust-punk and grindcore genres, redefining British music's known limits of sonic extremity with its remorseless aggression, blinding speed, and none-more-raw recording.

Proud to present you the extended edition of the classic and cult Intimidation EP on 12” vinyl including 3 bonus tracks that were recorded in that very same studio session back in June 1989 at the Bunkhouse Studio in Portsmouth. Lots of pictures straight out of the band members archive and some liner notes are included in the refreshed and updated artwork. To top it off, the whole session is carefully remastered for vinyl. The staccato beats, thriving bass, low crackling guitars and vocals skipping with youthful energy and aggression can not be imitated and can only sound the way they do like they did right then and right there. An anchor and milestone of US Oi! glory. We make sure this gem is preserved for the new generation as well as offering a fresh updated version for the old guard as a nice collectable piece of wax. Licensed directly from The Bruisers.

Originally released on Toxic Shock records in 1989, this is the debut album of junk rockers Sloppy Seconds. It makes you want to jump around, dance, party and roll through town with the windows down and the volume up to eleven. Shirtless, sweaty and unleashed, not for the faint of heart. The junk-rock classic is back!

The debut, self-titled release from New York City’s Quicksand came out in 1990 and is the 18th release from Revelation Records. It includes four songs including an instrumental entitled “Hypno Jam With Dan”. Frontman/ guitarist Walter Schreifels, the main creative force behind Gorilla Biscuits and bassist for Youth OF Today, assembled the band’s lineup from his dissolved project called Moondog. Guitarist Tom Capone had founded Long Island’s Beyond, and had previously played in Bold, writing their album Looking Back. Drummer Alan Cage had been in Burn and played with Capone in Beyond. Bassist Sergio Vega arrived from the short-lived Collapse and a later incarnation of Absolution. This release ignited the post-hardcore movement and sparked a new scene with new sounds.

From the very beginning, Turning Point was unique and not what you’d expect from a hardcore band. They expanded on the sounds of bands like Youth OF Today and Chain OF Strength, and brought in more melody while taking inspiration from 7 Seconds to push more emotion in their lyrics. Their impact was immediate. Originally released in 1990 on hardcore powerhouse NEW AGE Records, It’s Always Darkest… Before The Dawn, would be Turning Point’s only full-length. While the band only existed for a very short time, over 30 years later, its influence is still being felt. Revelation Records is proud to bring back It’s Always Darkest… in its original, stand-alone form as the third installment of reissuing the band’s out-of-print catalog

Born in the Basement, the 1994 second LP from horror-pop-punk mainstays the Groovie Ghoulies, in many ways marked a pivotal transition point for the band that would set the course for the rest of their career. After the first LP, the band had moved from Los Angeles to Sacramento, the city that would remain their home base for the duration of the band. The title of the record is more factual than one might assume: at the time, the Ghoulies' lineup of Kepi (bass/vocals), Roach (guitar), and Wendy (drums) were all co-habitating in a house by the city cemetery, practicing in the basement, where the record was indeed "born"! This lineup would remain together for the follow-up World Contact Day, which became the best-selling Ghoulies record! They also found themselves working with a prestigious new producer, recording at Seattle's Egg Studios with Conrad Uno (Mudhoney, The Presidents of the United States of America, The Ergs!). This relationship, too, would continue for World Contact Day. Fuelled by fan-favourite Ghoulies staples such as "The Beast with Five Hands," "I Wanna Have Fun," and "Back to the, Garage," the album was a self-released sell-out through two pressings, attracting the attention of legendary Bay Area punk label Lookout Records, who would work with the band through the year 2000, releasing 4 LPs and re-releasing 2, including Born in the Basement. Having already re-released the best-selling classic World Contact Day, Pirates Press Records is proud to present the album that paved the way for it and the long & storied career of the Groovie Ghoulies, Born in the Basement!

Brutal Panda is honoured to join the likes of legendary labels, Trance Syndicate and Amphetamine Reptile, in bringing one of noise-rock's gnarliest albums ever recorded back into print."Heroin Man stands as both the chronological centre of the Cherubs catalogue, and its defining moment. As one of noise rock's finest moments, Heroin Man is both a delicate, tragic statement and send-off to a friend who had OD'd, and a bellowing, roaring, over-amped screwball masterpiece of Butthole Surfers mayhem and Husker Du pop structures. It's sometimes difficult to distinguish between Kevin Whitley's guitar and Owen McMahon's bass, and that's precisely the point -- this is noise rock; and still at others, Whitley's guitar is a washing, white-noise counterpoint to the pummelling rhythm section. This is a dense, sprawling, spiralling work showing a band peaking aesthetically, with perhaps an even more ambitious album to follow. Unfortunately, due to the usual host of reasons, that never occurred. This was the Cherubs final studio album until their reformation 20+ years later." - words by Patrick Kennedy SIDE A:1. Back in print for the first time this century, first time for color and tip-on jacket, the definitive edition remastered from the original tapes.Meeting at the halfway point between Bleach and Damaged, Unwound's 1995 self-titled album arrived years after the original trio of Vern Rumsey, Justin Trosper, and Brandt Sandeno made their Avast Studios debut. Compiling their EPs for Kill Rock Stars and Gravity Records with five more session outtakes, Unwound was released on Rumsey's Punk In My Vitamins as the band began flirting with the mainstream. Witness a band's prehistory as it plays out in a feral maelstrom of screaming, distortion, feedback, and abrasive promise.

In 1995, struggling to recover from the tragic death of their original drummer, Southern California's Gameface created their most beloved album, solidifying a place in the underground music scene. With heart-on-sleeve lyrics and infectious melodies, "Three To Get Ready" connected with fans on an emotional level, crossing genres from pop punk to emo to rock, and remains a mid-'90s classic. This long out-of-print full-length is back as a remastered, expanded, 25th-anniversary edition - including the B-sides from their "A Day In June" 7" plus an alternate recording of "Time After Time" featuring a very young and less famous Gwen Stefani on backing vocals - all in newly updated gatefold packaging.

We recorded this at Westbeach recorders in "89 once again with Brett Gurewitz. This record took 6 days to record and mix. We had a blast recording this time cuz we had 6 whole days. We didn"t know how to sing harmonies yet, so Greg Graffin of Bad Religion came in and sang the back-ups on 3 or 4 songs. That was ultra cool. Too bad we couldn"t pull them off live. This was our first record to come out after Suffer (the record that changed everything) and the first record to come out on Epitaph. It sold 3500 copies the first year and that was a lot more than our previous one. Flipside fanzine called us metal and that was a total bummer. I think it was because Steve had long hair and a metal guitar. Oh well they"re forgiven.

Rocket 455 is a Flamin' Groovies-loving garage rock band formed in Detroit in 1992 after the breakup of local scene essentials The Nervo Beats. Although this was Rocket 455's third single, it was the first that featured the new, longest and current line up, including founding member Marco Delicato back in the fold as well as Steve ''Disco'' Nawara from the Electric Six. This 7'' was released on Devil's Night in 1997 and is notable as the first record ever produced and released by Italy Records.

In its most basic form, hardcore is the focal point of the energy, recklessness, and frustration of youth. No band from New York embodied this raw emotion so much as Side BY Side, vocalizing their disenfranchisement like none who came before them and none who have come since. Though short lived, the desperation and immediate impact of Side BY Side was deeply felt. Coming across not as a preaching, we’re-better-than-you band, and with the gruff realness that many felt was absent in some of their peers, Side BY Side tore through the boundaries that were growing in the punk and hardcore scene. They stand today as one of the lasting images of the birth of a new sound, a new scene—taking the sound of early NY punk and hardcore bands like Urban Waste and fusing it with a positive message not unlike 7 Seconds, but with the anger and intensity of Minor Threat. You’re Only Young Once... is a documentation of nearly all the captured studio output of this infamous band, including their highly sought after 7” EP plus three compilation tracks. You’re Only Young Once... is newly remastered and packaged for the first time as an LP with original artwork—including a full-color, fold-out poster with a reproduction of the original, paste-up lyric sheet insert and a large color version of the back cover photo of this decades out-of-print EP. Playing a mere 12 shows, their legacy is as strong as their “youth-crew” brethren like Youth OF Today, Bold, and Judge. A moment in time preserved by these recordings, the energy and aggression still sounds as urgent as the day it was recorded.

Re-release of John Joseph's (ex-Cro Mags) Both Worlds “Memory Rendered Visible”. Originally released on Roadrunner in 1998, this releases includes the “Beyond Zero Gravity” EP and is lovingly remastered at Maverick Studios.

By combining the Mags' unrefined, pissed-off sound with a state-of-the-art production on "Memory Rendered Visible", and the time may just be right for this new band. The songs have an energized, raucous sound throughout, often fooling the listener into believing that the band is about to veer off course, which surprisingly never happens. Kicking things off with the Quicksand-sounding 'Cornered', Both Worlds pummels the listener with a barrage of heavy, discordant guitar riffs (courtesy of guitarist A.J. Novello), but then take an unexpected melodic turn on 'Hate Mantra'. The band keeps indulgence to an absolute minimum, as they bash and grind through such highlights as 'Space Junkies', 'Mode of Ignorance', 'Karma Inc.', and 'Inner Outlet'. Joseph has said that Both Worlds' material requires more thought for the listener, while the Cro-Mags were more about straightforward bashing. After hearing "Memory Rendered Visible", chances are you'll undoubtedly agree.

Influencial cult classic reissued plus new Botch song! Legendary Tacoma, Washington mathcore/hardcore/metal band Botch's second and final full-length album We Are the Romans was originally released in 1999, eventually becoming one of the most ground-breaking records during a pivotal shift in heavy music. Now, the band's seminal album is set to be re-issued and will include Botch's first new song in over 20 years, "One Twenty Two". There was never any intention for the band to release anything else, but when guitarist David Knudson went to write his debut solo LP, it made sense. He explains: "During Covid, I was writing my debut solo LP, and mentally, I was sick of everything in quarantine. Lots of frustration had set in at home, and I figured the best way to deal with it was to write something heavy. I had no intention of writing anything for Botch, but when I was thinking of a singer to collaborate with, I thought, "Hey, I know the best hardcore singer ever to do it," so I hit up Dave V. He was super excited and so it just kind of snowballed from there. There was never any intent or conversation about getting back together or writing. It just happened so naturally and was a great release for all of us to make it happen without any of the traditional pressure an "active" band faces." Bassist Brian Cook, guitarist David Knudson, drummer Tim Latona, and vocalist Dave Verellen formed Botch in 1993, eventually becoming one of the most significant bands of their time. Their final show was June 15, 2002, the same day as the release of their final EP, An Anthology of Dead Ends. The members would go on to play in These Arms Are Snakes, Minus the Bear, and Russian Circles, among others, with acclaim for the band coming mostly post-breakup. We Are the Romans went on to become one of the most influential albums ever for the genre garnering posthumous acclaim across the board.

Their fourth studio double album, originally released in 2000, hasn’t been available since 2013, and is an essential component to any Slackers collection! It showcases The Slackers' innovative incorporation of diverse influences to create a sound that is truly their own - from ska, reggae, rocksteady, and dub to soul, R&B, calypso, jazz, and rock ’n roll. Led by Vic Ruggerio's unmistakably Bronx accented vocal stylings, the band never lose touch with the scrappy energy of where they call home, New York City. With The Slackers continuing to tour the world throughout the end of 2022 and early 2023 in support of their recent full length “Don’t Let The Sunlight Fool Ya” it seems only right to get their back catalog back in press for the new fans they never fail to make at every single show. Be sure to catch them in a town near you!

Back in the year 2000, Julien Temple directed this account of Punk pioneers the Sex Pistols short but hugely influential initial career. The soundtrack – a mix of their classic tracks, rarities and a sprinkling of diverse artists from the Bay City Rollers and Sailor to Tappa Zukie and The Who – was only ever available on CD, making this its vinyl debut. Uncluttered by the other artists tracks, the OST spread across 2 slices of red and white vinyl includes sing along family favourites Liar, Anarchy In The UK and No Fun alongside lesser known but no less essential cuts Don’t Give Me No Lip, Road Runner and What’cha Gonna Do About It. The latter cover of The Small Faces classic comes complete with amended lyrics reflecting the spirit of the times. Ltd edition and numbered to 3k units.

After 1993’s How To Clean Everything and 1996’s Less Talk, More Rock, Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes was PROPAGANDHI’s third and penultimate album on FAT. It marked a transition period for the band. Not only was it their first record after the departure of bassist/vocalist John K. SAMPSON—who was replaced by Todd KOWALSKI—but it also saw the start in the shift towards the sound that has now come to define them. The result was an album that, despite singer Chris HANNAH’s reservations, truly set the benchmark back then, and does so even more in its new sonic form. But the band was never quite happy with how the album turned out. It was betterthan it was given credit for. While the pieces were all there, the album lacked sonically in a way the band was never satisfied with. Fast forward almost two decades, when Propagandhi was in the studio with Jason Livermore mixing Victory Lap, and Hannah brought up the issues with Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes. Right there they decided that with a remix the album could be shaped into the masterpiece they intended way back in 2001. Finally, 20 years later, Propagandhi can say they are happy with how Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes (Reissue) turned out. CD features bonus tracks.

Ill Blood, the first studio album by Canadian hardcore band NO Warning, is now back on vinyl and Bridge Nine has given it the silver edition treatment as part of their silver edition series. This album was originally released in November 2002 and quickly became a beloved hardcore record. AllMusic wrote, “NO Warning’s sound is far from melodic—singer Ben Cook is a vitriolic, atonal screamer in the grand tradition—but it’s more complex and nuanced than that of many of the group’s contemporaries.” 10th album in Bridge Nine Records’ special silver anniversary series which was started as a way to celebrate the label’s 25th anniversary. Now in its 28th year, the label has continued to give the silver edition treatment to the most foundational records for the label.

Madrid-based 90’s punk rock nostalgics “weak” is back to the fray with their second album “A Guide for Adult Despair”. You can tell they grew up with Nofx, Lagwagon and No Use for A Name tapes blaring on their Walkmans as their sound could be defined as a passionate homage to the Californian punk rock bands of the nineties. On this new album the band decides to go one step further in terms of composition and recording quality and hits Ultramarinos Costabrava Studio with the mighty Santi García in charge. The result is a much more elaborate and consistent album, combining the speed and rage of punk rock with slower and super melodic pop style cuts. Although it is not a concept album, everything is wrapped in an atmosphere of sadness and despair in which many of us have been trapped in these past years. A Guide for Adult Despair is a deeply personal album, which revolves around the ups and downs that each member of the band has experienced during these last turbulent years. Nevertheless, the album also leaves room for some fast and direct songs loaded with social and political criticism. Recorded between the past months of December/January at Ultramarinos Costabrava by Santi García, this album is definitely much more consistent and emotionally engaging than the previous one.
