Hot on the heels of five viral video singles, Tea Party Revenge Porn, the first full album since 2014 by Jello Biafra And The Guantanamo School Of Medicine, is finally here! This is very strong stuff. Hear the inimitable Mr. B skewer the place the country has put itself in like no one else would—or could—as he and The Guantanamo School Of Medicine capture the full power of their live shows on disc as never before. Only so many artists have a track record of lyrics this good, and back it up with music as good or better. It’s usually one of the other, but rarely this fierce, thanks to the wall of sound production of the mysterious Marshall Lawless, with Kurt Schlegel at the board this time. Co-conspirators now feature both string-titans of longtime AT mainstay Victims Family: guitarist Ralph Spight (also Freak Accident) and wonder bassist Larry Boothroyd (also Triclops, Brubaker); plus drummer / metal percussionist Jason Willer (UK Subs, Nik Turner, Charger, The Mob). So as germs and police riots rage, there’s no better primal scream therapy than a long-awaited new Jello Biafra album. From Dead Kennedys to Lard to the now-classic albums with the Melvins, DOA, NoMeansNo, Mojo Nixon; and of course, The Guantanamo School Of Medicine, Tea Party Revenge Porn is right up there with all of it.

Belgian punk innovators Raxola formed in 1977, the name denoting Revolution Axis Opens Lights Ahead, one of only three Belgian punk acts to record an album in the early days. Guitarist/vocalist Yves Kengen, alias Yke, launched the trio with bassist Louis Hubeau and drummer Guy Van Snick, overlapping with the time that Kengen played bass in Bastard with Brian James, who returned to the UK to join London SS and ultimately, The Damned. Raxola’s self-titled debut is a furious, melodic, and intelligent blast of first-waveEuro-punk, a long sought-after classic whose originals go for silly money, now fully ripe for rediscovery.

Formed in early stages of the British punk explosion by four high school mates in Finchley, north London, Eater quickly established themselves as one of the youngest and rawest bands on the scene. Inspired by a line in the T Rex song, “Suneye,” Eater was influenced by the classier side of glam rock but was very much a rapid-fire power-punk concern with their own output. Signing to Dave Goodman’s fledgling punk imprint, The Label, Eater issued three singles before their greatly anticipated debut album, which has since been hailed as an all-time classic; pointing their fingers at upper-class twits and taking the piss out of themselves and their fans on “No Brains,” the album also features two Velvet Underground covers and an unusual David Bowie adaptation, all delivered in no-holds-barred triple time. Poster included.

Rutto (T.H.E. Rutto) was a pioneering Finnish hardcore band that existed from 1981 to 1984 and released two highly sought-after 7"s EPs released by Ikbal Records in 1983 and 1984 respectively. One of the few Finnish hardcore bands to have a female singer, Rutto managed to record only 11 songs in their brief existence. Final Doomsday records are extremely proud to present official reissues of both Rutto 7"s complete with rare compilation only tracks, unreleased photos, Finnish zine interviews from the early 80s, and for the first time ever, printed labels. The records have been made in close cooperation with the band as well as Finnish punk and hardcore veterans Vote Vasko AND LA?JA? A?IJA?LA?.

The Hamburg-based label Last Exit Music continues the reissue series of the "German skatepunk pioneers", this time with the fourth NOT Available album Grandpunks from 2017. Founded in 1992, NOT Available are still active in 2022 and are often mentioned in the same breath as Venerea, Satanic Surfers or NO FUN AT ALL when it comes to the most popular bands of the genre in Europe. The guys from Baden-Württemberg have given themselves six years since the predecessor work "v8". Six years in which you can finally process what you have experienced on the numerous tours at home and abroad; six years to practice adult things. And six years to work on 5 Aces, which turns out to be a real stroke of luck after the first hearing. The songs have become more mature without despising the classic trademark sound. Seven years after that the band released record #5, NO Excuses! Three years later, Grandpunks, the band's sixth album, was released. The limited LP edition was sold out in no time at the time, which is why Last Exit Music has now re-pressed this gem again on blue vinyl. Limited to 200 pieces!

Garbage Punk From Bern/Switzerland, three Anti-chord chainsaw punk rockers that makes you wanna kick your boss in the balls and piss on a cop's car. Sounds like an disturbed Oi!-Band covering Blues and Garage Punk Nuggets from the mid 60's whilst looking like crap! - Three Chord Simple As Fuck Chainsaw Massacre Fast Teen Punk from Bern/CH, their second Voodoo Rhythm Album. After i Hope You OD in 2018, they went back to the Swamp Lands Studios with Lo Spider and this time as well to Shirts off Studios in Switzerland for a couple tracks, and we have 17!!!! songs on a long player .. absolutely short killers, for the most between 1 and 3 minutes. Switzerland's not a place for UNDERGROUND music you may think, but we'll show you differently. Switzerland had the most powerful banks in the world, inventors of the RED CROSS but export weapons to war zones, the richest people in the world live here .. so you can say that Switzerland is the only country in the world where it is legitimate to form a punk rock band to make up for it, from Bern and surrounding areas come the probably craziest and most underrated bands in Switzerland (Grauzone, The Monsters, Lightning Beat -Man, Glueams, Eigernordwand, Omni Selassi, Pig Sweat, Nasty Rumers etc) We are very proud to present to you the new generation in Swiss Underground Music and here we go with the one and only Bad Mojos 2nd full length album - LP + Free Download Card + Inlayposter Booklet + Free Brainfuck, CD comes in double gatefold jacket incl 12 side booklett (no plastic exept for the CD itself) - "Buzzsaw, three-chord punk rock that's highly reminiscent to what The Spits and The Ramones have cut a career doing.Basic. Raw. Unhinged. Mongoloid Rock." (New Noise USA) -"Fast paced, yet efficient, this is one of the best straight-forward punk records I've heard in a very, very long time. Riffs, riffs and more riffs." (Heatwave USA) -"Ultra tight and melodic 77' punk rock with lotsa feedback." (OX Germany)

After three highly praised 7-inch EPs, Rigorous Institution rises from the shadowy dripping streets of Portland, OR to deliver us their first full length album. Full of scathing vocals with smart, bleak lyrics (that border on poetry at times), axe grinding riffs, driving, dirty bass lines, hypnotic percussion, atmospheric synthesizer and a sense of droning paranoia scattered throughout its entirety. Yes, this is what one could call crust, but it feels too easy to use that word. These weirdos veer into seldom ventured territories that go from ripping to horrific soundscapes that make one's skin crawl as much as their fists pump. Picture John Carpenter joining forces with Amebix in 1982 and it will give you an idea of what this epic 12” will bring. This might just be the perfect soundtrack for the current state of the world.

Debut full length from the long standing PDX unit, Decomp. Bitter, Angry and Aggressive in every sense. Following a couple EP’s and a few line up changes, this LP gives you a vulgar display of tightness and brutality performed by a band in their prime. Condemned to Earth finds them crossing that line into metal even further than before (complete with sick guitar leads) but still a chalk load of stench here to keep the crusties drunkenly bobbing their heads. There are plenty of nods to the usual suspects (i.e., Sacrilege, Bolt Thrower, et al.) with hardcore punk hooks bringing to mind Framtid, Ent and the like. The result is an uncomfortable soundscape of chugging riffs, breakdowns, plenty of tempo changes, with a thick layer of guttural, spiteful vocals. There are only so many times you can get away with using the word “brutal” to describe certain records, but this one is Brutal in every sense of the word. End of times crust for the filthy black waxed jacket punks and flowing locked heshers alike.

Johnny Moped's "lost album" from 1990, finally gets a reissue! I like this album, Johnny hates it. But why? I think it's more "Johnny Moped" than any other album out there. What other album has entirely penned JM songs/ditties like 'Soldiers' and 'Moped crash' plus ad-libs and all the other little interludes in between the tracks that are pure "Moped". Johnny thinks it sounds like a "disco" album, which it does in places, but, hey-ho, it was 1989 and it was the age of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. At the time there had been no Moped band since 1985-ish and certainly Slimy hadn't been in the band since the early '80s. Also, there was only one album out there, Cycledelic so there was a lot of songs destined for a follow up album that never happened and it looked like we were going to be a one album band. So, with so much unreleased material and a chronic lack of "mopedisum" I decided to embark on a little project_ This album came out in 1990 on Deltic records but the deal was that I had to produce a finished master tape that could go straight to the cutting room and be pressed, so I borrowed a 4-track Teac and a Roland sampler and Roland drum machine and got to work. Some of the tracks sound like they were recorded in someone's bedroom, that's because they were, but Captain recorded some great stuff on his 8-track where I had recorded Johnny "live" and handed over a tape for him to work with ('I'm a Spasm', 'Soldiers', 'Cut across Shorty'). Also, he provided some decent backing vocals on other tracks ('Corpse Boogie', 'Hiawatha'). The album came out in 1990 and to promote it we put the band back together... in a different format. The Johnny Moped Big Band did a series of gigs where we started with two guitarists, bass drums and Johnny for three songs and then swapped to different musicians during 'Wild Breed' for another three songs. Then we'd bring the whole lot together for the rest of the set. The photos on the back cover are taken from the "live at the Cartoon" video. Notice Johnny's original Moped jacket ha...

Londoners Buster Shuffle are back with a brand-new studio album, announced for release 18th March 2022. The new 10 track album is called 'Go Steady'. After the devastating effects of the pandemic and other recent UK/Europe touring difficulties that have directly impacted UK artists, Buster Shuffle have decided to Crowd Fund the record, using fan power to help them spread the Shuffle gospel far and wide. Jet says 'its been such a tough few years with the pandemic and so we thought we'd ask our loyal fans that have grown with us over 10 years plus, to help us get the album out there. It's not something that we have ever done before but we have seen other bands successfully engage with their fans to release music and we think the time is now for us'. Jet reached out to fellow punk music aficionados in the height of lockdown to release a hard-hitting AA side 7 inch single "Unsung Heroes" for charity. Bands that jumped to Jet's aide to feature on the songs, which raised key funds for the World Health organisation included members of Die Toten Hosen, Flogging Molly, Donots, Hepcat, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Rhoda Dakar, Toy Dolls, Talco and more. After this massively successful campaign and a great response from the fanbase, Jet and the boys decided to get back in the studio to put together a new batch of songs that form the upcoming 5th studio album that promises to feature their biggest songs to date. Go Steady will feature 10 tracks of Ska Punk, Rockney tunes including current single "New Badge For My Uniform" and will also feature the highly successful 7"single 'Sucker Punch Blues' which was released back in May 2021. "We wanted to add Sucker Punch Blues as its been such a hit with the fans. We all thought it had to go to on the new album because it's such a banger and we know people will be happy about it" says Jet. Go Steady is set for release 18th March 2022 on 'Do Nothing Records' Buster Shuffle's own label and comes via Hfmn Crew

When Mark E Smith died in January 2018, an era ended with him. The Fall were an English post-punk band, formed in 1976 in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. They underwent many line-up changes, with vocalist and founder Smith as the only constant member. First associated with the late 1970s punk movement, the Fall's music underwent numerous stylistic changes, often concurrently with changes in the group's line-up. Nonetheless, their music has generally been characterised by an abrasive, repetitive guitar-driven sound, tense bass and drum rhythms, and Smith's caustic lyrics, described by critic Simon Reynolds as "a kind of Northern English magic realism that mixed industrial grime with the unearthly and uncanny, voiced through a unique, one-note delivery somewhere between amphetamine-spiked rant and alcohol-addled yarn." They were always at their best on stage, and this collection, recorded at the Assembly Rooms, Derby in 1994, captures them in full flow!

Also__It's Good.Esso: It had a definite identity maybe - it was amovement that attracted people who didn't feel part ofthe mainstream, and so once finding a home didn'twant to leave it, in fact remaining loyal to that thingthat they felt saved them. When you formed the band back in the `70s didyou expect you'd still be making records 40-oddyears later?Pete: no not at all, I think i imagined i would be retiredand living in a mansion by the age of 30.Nigel: No, I thought I'd be living on my country estatedeciding whether to drive the Aston or the Bentley andthrowing rocks at the neighbours.Esso: Not at all, twenty years old - 40 years was adifferent world.

Real high-energy rock'n'roll in its most potent form is best captured live and in the moment. Maximum thrills, minimum frills. In 1977, London's Warsaw Pakt took that premise one step further, recording their album live, straight through, direct to the cutting lathe. More than forty years later, "Needle Time" stands as one of the most authentic documents of the lean, visceral sound of London punk rock in its banner year. LP + 7" single pack reissued here on vinyl for the first time. Includes insert with extensive liner notes by Mike Stax (Ugly Things Magazine) and individually hand customized record cover. Confuse was a noise punk hardcore band that started in Kyushu, Japan. They released a few records ("Indignation", "Nuclear Addicts", "Contempt For The Authority And Take Off The Lie", "Atrocious madness", and "Stupid Life") throughout the time they were around. They started off with a really raw noise Discharge type style and then evolved into a bouncier, more melodic sound. Awesomely weirdly produced noise thrash that just tears out your eardrums. Definitely insane.

Guns Of Brixton reissues the 1991 album from Spanish punk band Eskorbuto. Demasiados Enemigos ("Too Many Enemies") is not just the title of another disc by the blazing band from Santurtzi but the album with the difficult duty of putting an end to a legendary combo as we knew it. Eskorbuto was a band of its time and that is shown in every chord and every chorus, branded in fire through the years by those who danced and vibrated around the flames of this cursed band. This is a unique album -- special due to its legacy and the circumstances under which it was recorded. Now it is reissued on vinyl. If you didn't get it at the time or you were too young to know, now you have the chance to request the max from your turntable, not giving a damn if volume affects the structure of the building.

Moustache could have only happened in Portland, Oregon. This young group of music lovers, trying to recreate that dangerous feeling that they got the first time they stuck their heads through the doors of that all ages punk rock show. You can’t fake this music. They were smart and had a plan. But Portland thought they were taking the piss. And the squares didn't understand. This wasn't a goddamn joke! If Moustache would have came out of New York or Chicago, they would have been welcomed like royalty. But unfortunately for them, Moustache could have only happened in Portland, Oregon". – Jerry A (Poison Idea)

Originally known as the singer, songwriter, and founder of both Lagwagon and BAD Astronaut, Joey Cape has established himself as a recognized solo artist over the past 15 years. His solo ventures have allowed him to stretch the bounds of his musical stylings, highlighting more diverse instrumentation, subdued pace, and experimental elements. The one constant, of course, is his unique ability to craft unforgettable songs. As with pretty much everyone on the planet, 2020 was a challenging year for Joey. At the onset he was going through difficult transitions on multiple fronts. Then the pandemic hits, and Joey finds himself dealing with things he had never experienced before all at once. The result is A Good Year to Forget, a record that encapsulates all the trials and tribulations of the 12 months that inspired it. Written entirely in isolation in a makeshift home recording studio at his mother’s house, Joey Cape was able to create a beautiful, warm record that captures the pure essence of its songs. Hushed and haunted, there’s an almost Nick Drakeian poignancy to these 12 songs, especially on the wistful “The Poetry in Our Mistakes” and the forlorn-yet-somehow-uplifting “Saturday Night Fever.” “Come Home,” a song inspired directly by words his mother had spoken to him on the phone, is a beautifully melancholy, slightly folky tune full of hurt and longing that also manages to be reassuring at the same time. Elsewhere, “Under the Doormat” is a harrowingly beautiful ode to a lost love of the past. “Check Your Ego at the Door” is a ballroom lament steeped in timelessness, while “Fictional” is a scornful take on the false images and lives that proliferate on social media. Despite Joey Cape’s isolation while writing A Good Year to Forget, his fans will hear much more than just a voice, guitar, and bass on this record. Indeed, he ended up playing a plethora of instruments when recording the album, including electric and lap steel guitars, piano, mandolin, and drums. Additional final flourishes were added at fellow Bad Astronaut band member Thom Flowers' studio and Sean MCCUE's Coyote Road Studios. A Good Year to Forget finds the positive in the negatives to become a record of pure triumphant beauty.

After grumbling for 30 years waiting for the first two albums from Atlanta’s Subsonics to appear on our preferred long playing format, we delinquents at Slovenly Recordings have taken the matter into our own leathery clutches and proudly present the first ever vinyl versions of Subsonics (1992) and Good Violence (1993). Criminally overlooked due to being CD only releases at the time—anyone who was anyone in those days was still stuck on *records* during the world’s biggest boom of slick digital coasters - these feculent works of pure derelict attitude are a sorely needed reminder of just how fucking Cool the rock still rolled at the dawn of its death, and prove that Subsonics—if you’ve been paying attention—remain consistent in their execution. A Subsonics mention in the same breath as the era’s most revered luminaries is crucial to the garage-rock conversation due to their unique take and attack on the teenbeat tongue, whether they consider themselves to be a component of the scene, or as outsiders making catchy and clever bang-shang-a-lang for their own inside kicks. Either way, our ATL heroes are playing the same stage, and they aren't particularly concerned if you missed the set… that’s our job. Here they are in 2023, exhumed at their most frantic, and they’ve never been more exalted.

This is Gianni and Erika third album, after two works released by Voodoo Rhythm Records and produced by Jim Diamond, musician and producer for two iconic bands from Detroit, The Dirtbombs and The White Stripes. The record features former Screaming Trees vocalist - and acclaimed solo artist - Mark Lanegan and Chilean multi-instrumentalist Alain Johannes (Queens Of The Stone Age, Spinnerette, Ten Commandos, The Desert Sessions). “The title track of the new album was born during our last day of re-cordings” - says Gianni Blacula and Switchblade Erika.. “Alain is an enthusiast of strings instruments, and on the last day he arrived at the studio with a Neapolitan mandola he bought in the historical centre of Naples. We were astonished about how a traditional instrument as the mandola can get a rock sound, so we followed up went to the recording room. Alain at the mandola and vocals and us on guitar and drums. There was suddenly the right atmosphere that to Alain reminded “ the Desert Sessions” , so much that the song came out at the first take. Then Alain wrote the lyrics and the last line “Beast Must Regret Nothing” affected us , we have chosen it as the title of the album because it totally reflects his mood, and it does taste of Devils!” Gianni and Erika got in touch with Alain for the first time in September 2019, during a Spanish tour, while they were looking for inspirations for their new record. In the same moment Alain was on a European tour which ended in Italy. The collaboration was born in a spontaneous way, for a mutual esteem between the Devils and the famous producer and musician. The album have been recorded in Naples, Italy, with a two weeks session in a historic studio equipped with a large tracking room with truly unique acoustics. Alain actively collaborated in the production of the album taking part to creative process and helping them with the arrangements. The Devils formed in Naples in 2015 and their first two albums “Sin,You Sinners!” in 2016 and “Iron Butt” in 2017 were produced by Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Sonics and the Dirtbombs), pub-lished by Voodoo Rhythm Records. From 2016 the duo constantly tour, and has played everywhere doing over 400 shows between Europe and Canada. The Devils are the sound of desolation and chaos; their style is primitive, filled with sex, sin and rock’n’roll. They are wild, loud and sexy. The name of the band was chosen has tribute to the movie “The Devils” by Ken Russell and they have been on tour with Jon Spencer, The Sonics, Boss Hog and The Monsters, and has open act around Europe for Mudhoney, Nashville Pussy, Guitar Wolf, Kid Congo and many more.

Hammered Hulls' debut LP, Careening, may very well be the last record to be recorded and mixed at the famed Washington, D.C. area recording studio, Inner Ear. Engineered by studio owner Don Zientara and produced by Ian MacKaye, Careening was started right before the pandemic lockdown and completed in summer/fall of 2021. A new band of long-time players, Hammered Hulls' music hews close to some of their early influences. Alec MacKaye is the voice, Mark Cisneros is the guitarist, Mary Timony takes a nimble and rarely-heard turn as bassist, and Chris Wilson commands the drums. Each of them bring their individual imprint to the total sound. This concussion of strength upon strength, unified by vulnerable songs, only barely contained, is the signature sound of Hammered Hulls.

Pioneering LA punk band Legal Weapon was formed in 1980 from the ashes of the Silencers, which Steve Reiner formed with guitarist Brian Hansen and vocalist Kat Arthur. By the time of this riveting 1982 debut LP, the band had Arthur, Hansen, future Adolescents/Agent Orange bassist Steve Soto, and drummer Charlie Vartanian. Just as Exene Cervenka was a primary draw in X and Penelope Houston in the Avengers, Kat Arthur is the major lure that kept this band outstanding, as Hansen and Soto vary the musical action, keeping their hardcore on the melodic side throughout. This two-volume set of records which represents the complete discography of State of Fear couldn’t have come at a better time with the current hardcore/crust scene in the U.S. on the rise once again. A new generation of punks have scoured the filthy depths of the genre to find the classics, and State of Fear ticks every box of a classic hardcore band. Formed from the ex-members of Disrupt and Deformed Conscious, State of Fear adopted a more streamlined hardcore attack than that of either of their former bands, but kept intact the political and dark themes of the crust bands they had come from. This was hardcore made by fans of Swedish bands like Skitlickers, MOB 47, Anti-cimex, and although they definitely wear their influences on their sleeve, they created a sound which was enigmatically their own. Entering the scene in the heyday of the Minneapolis crust explosion spearheaded by Profane Existence in 1994, they immediately made their mark with powerful live showings and a no-bullshit delivery. Volume 1 includes the self titled debut, and the infamous ‘Wallow in Squalor’ EP’s, State of Fear showcase a devastating combination of speed and memorable riffs not seen by another band in America since. Songs like ‘Blood Thirsty System’, ‘Violation’, ‘Consumption’ emboldened a generation of punks in the 90’s, while confirming their feelings of rage at the political system in place, which sadly still stands today. These songs aren’t going to lose appeal until the blood thirsty system falls. Sonarize Records has added a large format 12 page booklet that includes a biography, interviews, lyrics, and hard to find photos of the band.

Call me Terry! It’s been a hot minute since we last heard from Terry, what’s he been up to? Five years on from their last album, ‘I’m Terry’, the Australian post-punk quartet proudly present their new record, ‘Call Me Terry’, for release on April 14th 2023.

Terry is made up of pairs Amy Hill & Al Montfort, and Xanthe Waite & Zephyr Pavey who started playing together for the fun of it in 2016. Seven years, four albums and three EP’s later, Terry is ready to pick up the phone again. Over the past few years Terry have kept themselves busy - but not only with Terry things. On top of numerous releases with alternating side projects (Constant Mongrel, The UV Race, Primo!, Sleeper & Snake, Chateau, Rocky, the list goes on… ) members of Terry have moved interstate, undertaken studies, had children and started new fields of work.

Terry began sharing the demos for ‘Call Me Terry’ online with each other in 2020 - as we all did - before getting together in 2021 at their trusty rehearsal space to record the beds. Overdubs were completed at Terry’s homes over the following year. Lyrically, in true Terry fashion, the record wastes no time in scrutinising Australia’s corrupt, colonial history. They sing it loud and sprawl it across the jacket of this record, highlighting the greed, privilege and entitlement of white, wealthy “Australia” which they won’t stand a second for.

Musically, ‘Call Me Terry’ still has the classic Terry sound; the four vocals singing as one gang, sharp guitars and quirky, burbling synths, the rolling bass and drums, all amidst their clever, dancey pop songs. Since day dot it’s been hard to reference a band that really sounds like Terry, which is always amazing. Truly a sound of their own!

But the sugar on top here may just be some of their finest horn, string and piano performances to

date - all of which never feel crowded, cluttered or over-involved. More just excellent, necessary melodies. Rest assured Al still gives his famed Fuzz Factory a workout - and throws his tremolo into the pedal chain. It goes off. Tremolo is the order of the day for Amy and Xanthe too who also embrace the wobble, whilst Zephyr keeps the pulse of their politico-pop anchored.

Terry isn’t afraid to call the shots and Terry isn’t afraid to point the finger. Listen to what Terry has to say.

By the time Sunderland’s punk humourists the Toy Dolls released 1989’s Wakey Wakey!, bassist John ‘K’Cee’ Casey had joined founding member Olga and longstanding drummer Martin Yule for another great episode of their musical madness. Now with a metal edge underpinning their punk/Oi! hybrid, their versions of ‘Armenian folk song ‘The Sabre Dance’ and Chuck Berry’s ‘No Particular Place To Go’ are riveting and ‘Cloughy Is A Bootboy’ and ‘Lester Fiddled The Tax Man’ leave Olga’s humour intact. Many hail this is among the best Toy Dolls albums of all time – get it and understand why! Best played loud and often!

How many hardcore, let alone metal, bands exceed all previous efforts on their third LP? Some might argue that 'Feel The Darkness' was Poison Idea's prime. You could present 'Master Of Puppets' and 'Reign In Blood', if you're so inclined. Let's face it, these are a dying breed of exceptions to the rule. And yet, like an icepick in the eye socket of logic, here stands Foreseen with 'Untamed Force'. In the landmine ridden field that is crossover, where bands can all too easily get it so wrong, Foreseen not only survive the death sentence of their sophomore record "Grave Danger" (2017), but head out on a blunt force killing spree. 'Untamed Force' indeed. Rarely has a record title been more fitting. Vocalist Mirko Nummelin sounds more pissed off than ever, 12 years on. Drummer Mårten Gustafsson's arms and feet generate enough power to make Finland energy self-sufficient. And finally, pushing the band over the edge, separating Foreseen from us feeble bastards, we have new member Ville Valavuo joining Jaakko Hietakangas to form what is arguably the scene's deadliest six string tag-team. Foreseen's power is untamed but at the same time borne from hard work, a love for the craft and their musical community, and absolutely no excuses. Dig in, endure, stomp out, shoot to kill. Foreseen are for headbangers who haven't been brainwashed by click tracks and digital recordings. Foreseen are for punks who can deal with a synth intro and harmonised solos. In 2022, 'Untamed Force' is the guiding principle that can inspire, but not be replicated, by the Kings of Hardcore Thrash.

Originally known as the singer, songwriter, and founder of both LAGWAGON and BAD ASTRONAUT, JOEY CAPE has established himself as a recognized solo artist over the past 13 years. His solo ventures have allowed him to stretch the bounds of his musical stylings, highlighting more diverse instrumentation, subdued pace, and experimental elements. The one constant, of course, is his unique ability to craft unforgettable songs. Joey doesn’t want to call it an epiphany, but in recent years he’s come to a realization about life—specifically, the best way to live it. It’s a simple philosophy: even though we’re living in very troubled times, it’s important to not get bogged down by it all. As he incorporates that mindset into his day-to-day life, it naturally gets absorbed into his music, and serves as the crux of Joey's new solo album Let Me Know When You Give Up.

In 1986 the Chems recorded 4 songs at Studio 9 located on Hollywood Blvd and Western. Two of these songs would become their first 7-inch. In 1996 the Chems recorded demos for what would be their last album, “Arpeggio Motorcade” for Cruz. These demos, along with some live recordings from the 90s, are featured together on this album for the first time ever. Double sided insert with exclusive liner notes from Dave Naz included.

2024 re-release of Marching Orders' second LP originally recorded between February and October 2012 and released in 2013. This re-release contains re-worked and updated artwork plus insert jacket with full lyrics/band pics and credits.Living Proof was branded 'The best Marching Orders release ever' by reviewers and featured songs that are still played regularly at live shows today. From 'Dog Eat Dog' to 'Spirit Of 84' to the drumless ballad 'Hand Of Fate' there was a wide range of song-writing on the album to appeal to all. Rooted firmly in their Australian environment, the influences are evident with nods to the likes of The Angels and Rose Tattoo. It was around this time that the band started to peak domestically with an appearance at the Pugs Day Out Festival in Sydney to rave reviews. There was talk of trying to go abroad and tour Europe and America again but unfortunately it wasn't to be. With members unable to travel and very little time to rehearse, the band instead ground to a halt unfortunately. After more than a decade since its release and long sold out, it is only now in 2024 that this album is getting the recognition it always deserved with some tracks pushing half a million plays on digital platforms. With Marching Orders back together again with a strong new line up and a successful European Tour in 2023, it is time for 'Living Proof' to be made available again on vinyl for all to hear. And with new songs recorded and plans for a new release in early 2025, Marching Orders is back! SIDE 1:1. Dog Eat Dog2. Guilty By Suspicion3. Living Proof4. Callous World5. Nothing To Lose6. "Opium för folket" [Opium for the People] is Varnagel's fifth full-length album. Varnagel was born out of the Swedish punk wave of the 90s and since the start in 1999 the band has developed an unmistakable own sound of energetic, edgy and melodic punk rock. In dark times like these, the album is even more political than its predecessors, lighting up the scene with many catchy sing-a-longs, bringing ska, metal and reggae into an explosive mix of rage and musical playfulness.

Third full-length album by La Inquisición, a record slowly gestated in the deepest and most veteran catacombs of Barcelona punk. This time, La Inquisición refines the formula that has brought them to this invisible world, where we find ten tracks of dark punk with melodic outbursts. The lyrics stand out from the typical genre themes, featuring solid bass lines, powerful guitars, and drumming that steps over everything like a steamroller. Everyone say the third album of any band is the hardest one. And this time, La Inquisición takes us by the hand to their particular universe, full of light and shadows, butalso honesty, redemption, and perseverance in a musical tradition on the verge of extinction.A bunch of friends with something to say in a noisy, beautiful, aggressive, and honest way.Because as they say, "Anger, noise, and blood...will save us."Vinyl as dark black or deep red and CD available!

How many bands can say they had multiple debut albums? For crustcore sound terrorists Extreme Noise Terror, Holocaust In Your Head - The Original Holocaust, first recording version, continues to excuse itself in being reissued for what must be the last time before the last time. It’s no wonder why. We The Helpless is every bit as hopeless as it sounds - a blitzkrieg of wails and nightmarish sonics that tighten themselves around the temples until the eyes turn white. Statement will always stand on its own two feet as a perfect set opener and Innocence to Ignorance’s unhinged atmospheric armageddon as well as Use Your Mind’s sample-sprung assault on the senses are possible indications of where the band could’ve wound up had their line-up not been walking such a shaky tightrope. Rough as hell? Sure. But if you want to know what it feels like to have the signal input of your skull reflect a separation in the grounding circuit of the flesh from the neck down, then carry on screaming.

A more mature sounding G.I. on this one that still pleases the diehard fan as well as those leaning toward Fugazi or later Dischord label releases. “Excellent production and melodic punk tunes are the hallmark here, and while you can still pick out that DC sound, they’ve broadened to reach back to punk roots, as well as even earlier, all without losing that oomph or character of their presentation.” – Tim Yohannan, MAXIMUM ROCKANDROLL

Remastered with bonus tracks. While all Hangmen albums sound unmistakably like The Hangmen, each are distinguishable from the rest. Recorded and mixed over a couple of days on a tiny budget ‘Last Train To Purgatory’ is characterised by its warped rockabilly leanings and unsettling ‘gallows’ humour. It invited and defied listeners to enjoy unsavoury visions set to a crude and trashy soundtrack at a time when such things were never more alien in the world of music. It still received favourable reviews in unexpected places, glossy horror mag Samhain and metalhead weekly Kerrrang! (giving it a high ‘K’ rating) complimented accolades and bemusement in the more musically aligned press. The album also wraps up the bands formative period, gathering up the last of their fledgling works in all their unrefined charm to sit alongside those that followed. Whether you got on board ‘The Last Train To Purgatory’ or not, everything about it was off the rails.

e-editor and label-manager whose role in the skinhead scene over the past 25 years has been somewhat crucial. Influenced by early reggae and '82-era UK Oi! and punk, but following in the tracks of Italian skinhead pioneers Nabat and Rough (90% of their songs are typically sung in Italian), Klasse Kriminale's career has been long and scattered with success. Originally released on the New Rose sublabel "Division Nada" (run by Berurier Noir's singer Francois), and long out of print, it was about time that their classic 'Faccia A Faccia' from 1991 was available on vinyl again, with its original and extremely distinctive Alteau artwork and 3 bonus tracks!

UK rockin psychobilly from the late 80's /early 90's, holding together nearly all they put on record, that is the cold cold sunday single, the caught in a dream EP and the rest of the sessions that conformed the CD version Mental Disorder records put out in the 90's, only recording to stay out due to time limitations has been the Psycho vision 12" EP. This brilliant band could be compared at some points with The long tall texans adding on the rockin psycho sound influences of ska and garage punk. Raucous Records put out in the day their original vinyl recordings and they have become very collectable despite their poor package, The artwork has been newly done and also includes an inlay with a good fistful of never seen before pics , all from the bands private collection, aswell an extensive and very interesting interview done this year with the members, audio has been fully remastered to get the best possible sound out of it.

Technopunks 'Last Mensch Standing' with his darkest and well-conceived album ever. Including guest appearances by Julian of 'Scheissediebullen', Luna Nogood and Frittenbude.

Dark Rave is a document of time, Dark Rave is 1994, Dark Rave is 2006, Dark Rave is 2024, Dark Rave is 2034. Somehow, it's simply the place where past and future inevitably merge. For a brief moment. Somewhere between dancing, dreading and rejoicing, because it goes on and on and on...

Björn Peng liebt Metall. Metall, Blut und Knicklichter. In seinem Keller lagern 1000 VHS Kassetten.

We recorded this at Westbeach recorders in "89 once again with Brett Gurewitz. This record took 6 days to record and mix. We had a blast recording this time cuz we had 6 whole days. We didn"t know how to sing harmonies yet, so Greg Graffin of Bad Religion came in and sang the back-ups on 3 or 4 songs. That was ultra cool. Too bad we couldn"t pull them off live. This was our first record to come out after Suffer (the record that changed everything) and the first record to come out on Epitaph. It sold 3500 copies the first year and that was a lot more than our previous one. Flipside fanzine called us metal and that was a total bummer. I think it was because Steve had long hair and a metal guitar. Oh well they"re forgiven.

The first solo recordings from infamous/notorious Rancid frontman Lars Frederiksen. Overflowing with the passion he’s so well known for, these six songs are belted out with the authenticity and power that only Lars could bring to the table! The song selection holds deep personal meeting for Lars, as he writes in an inspired and detailed explanation within the packaging. Bringing together and reinventing songs from his other bands, and even including a few covers, it’s quite clear to see how Important this release is for him. Many may remember that the pandemic sidetracked an endeavour to take this gig on the road. While there was one show at Eli‘s Mile High Club in Oakland just before the pandemic, the rest of the concert-going world has been waiting quite some time to see and hear Lars perform in this Billy Bragg inspired fashion. With this album in hand, it’s safe to say you can expect to see Lars take this to fans across the globe… And as fans, we can all hope that this is just the start of more to come!

One year after the release of its debut album "Confessions Of An Unrest Drama Queen", Meanbirds presents its latest work with the EP "Champagne For The Poor". The name of the EP is more of a political slogan than just another record title. Quite in the style of the "Life Deluxe For All" calls in the mid 00s. And it was around that time when the idea for the title track was born, which songwriter Magenta Caulfield has now realized with the Meanbirds. 15 years later the result can finally be heard. All the songs on the EP have their own special character, just like on the debut "Confessions Of An Unrest Drama Queen" - sounding rough, straight-forward and, above all, energetic. Mario Rivière drew the artwork once again - basically a persiflage of the Misfits classic "Die, Die My Darling". Meanbirds pays homage to the Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata, whose ideas of a fair distribution of wealth still have a strong appeal around the world today. A perfect epitome of "Champagne For The Poor."

Clear Vinyl. The clearing ashes of a pandemic will surely bring light and inspiration, hope and so much more to the world. For the rock n roll world, the flaming emotional roller coaster we’ve all endured will surely yield epic and legendary anthems to carry our burning souls through the next few generations. This is an album defining that sentiment in an enormous way. Not just an anthem or two, but an entire full length chock-full of them! Picking a favorite off this album is near impossible. There’s a song to fit every mood, every emotion, and a few that can carry you through those times when you just don’t know what the fuck is going on… This album, just like this band, feels like it’s decades old when only still emerging from infancy. The first 13 songs poured out of these seasoned veterans with speed and abundance, they are nothing short of inspirational. These songs are raw, and real, and a reflection of life in a way most songs can’t capture. These words, and this record will endure; with a new song taking (or retaking!) its place as your favorite - multiple times. Pure rock n roll ear candy, with passionate political and social intent, hellbent on changing the status quo!! If you buy a record on someone else’s recommendation this summer, buy this one!

Brilliant second album from the wholly original cult Sheffield post punk band. Released in 1983 on Red Flame ‘One Afternoon In A Hot Air Balloon’ is an adventure on its own. Artery somehow replaced the somber post-punk of the debut with a stream of melancholic pop paeans influenced by british folk and certain ballroom dances, with a spectral keyboard sound worth killing for. The secret weapon - when compared to the rest of their discography - is largely explained by the presence of keyboard player and (by now) main composer Christopher Hendrick. The band was in fact reduced to a trio with former members Mark Gouldthorpe (guitar) and Garry Wilson (drums) now supported by the singular effort of Hendrick (also on bass and xylophone). At the same time Garry Wilson was playing in an early incarnation of Pulp. Despite the early Joy Division influence - which the band firmly dismissed – Artery is moving forward into the so-called new romantic era. A vaudeville scenario light years ahead from the streets and the aggro-culture, a way to some pleasant and revealing experience.

Arriving to the world for the first time, really—beyond the ears of the deep-digging few—Dale Jenkins’ Undesirable Elements, issued privately in the Washington, D.C. area circa 1985, is a homespun effort deserving of the audience and attention it never received upon initial release. Undesirable Elements—here expanded as Undesirable Element with appended bonus tracks—is a desolate and deconstructed album which touches on the subtleties and extremes of the human condition, and the nuances in between, across gnarled bits of proto-punk via abrasive, fuzzed guitars, and refracted mutant strains of British post-punk through a distinctly American underbelly sensibility. Drum-led and in-the-red, Undesirable Elements is a loose concept album of sorts, from the sympathetic pen of an innately skilled commentator. The album displays polemical disdain for the behavior of humans, insular views, and blindly moving forward on simple suggestion, while carrying a keen eye into the many textures of the mindscape of man. While you may hear occasional tears at aiming at the trends of the times, Jenkins’ direct, intensely personal and lyrically sophisticated material, combined with his charged attack, is in a realm all its own. Jenkins’ lyrics are nearly cinematic, like bite-sized scripts, or character vignettes, filled with wizened, introspective and radicalized perspective. The self-contained home-recording maverick was searching, sensitive, subversive, topical, yet several steps from the soapbox. Got Kinda Lost Records is over the moon to allow this unique, outsider singer-songwriter/psych-punk album another turn at its time in the shine…

Freak Genes continue their descent into angular electronics with Power Station. Musicians are replaced by machines, natural sounds are swapped for noises. The result is synthetic pop for problem times.

Charlie Murphy (Internal Credit / Isolation) and Andrew Anderson (Proto Idiot / KAKE?) orchestrate affairs, wrangling synths, drum machines, guitars and found sounds. Think 154-era Wire but with a reduced budget, or DAF minus the disco. The album was recorded in bedrooms and borrowed spaces from 2018 to 2020. It was mixed and mastered by Mikey Young.

Formed in 2016, Freak Genes previous albums are Playtime, Qwak Qwak and III. They’ve performed in both shitty and swanky venues across Europe. They’ll be on stage again in 2021, pandemics and other global catastrophes depending.

You'd think Jake Robertson would already have his hands full playing in the likes of Ausmuteants, Leather Towel, School Damage, Drug Sweat et al. But no, evidently there's always time for one more thoroughly wracked project, and Alien Nose Job's focus is as kaleidoscopically scattershot as you'd expect from a man with such a short attention span. Just to confirm: yes, that's a good thing. From the off, we glide through the Coneheads-style Devocore of Television Sets before romping through the jangling lo-fi pop of Weight of the World, which skips and mopes while making like The Clean setting light to their parents' carpet with a magnifying glass. There's also charmingly scruffy soul-pop, chugging sci-fi slop-punk, straight-up college rock balladry and much, much more. But these aren't sketches or tossed-off genre exercises. They're bona fide works of consummate skill that resonate sincerely and effortlessly. Essentially, each song sounds like a challenge to the one that follows, a cry of 'step the fuck up'; Suddenly Everything is Twice as Loud is a treasure trove of mini-masterpieces. Rough as fuck mini-masterpieces, sure, recorded with a cheap drum machine and guitars that sound like rusty drills cutting through power cables, but mini-masterpieces nonetheless. When venerable doyens of the pop establishment make albums of such eclectic scope and genuine songwriting talent, they get called geniuses. When punk as fuck wiseguys like Robertson pull it off, words like 'maverick' get tossed around. Rest assured, his Alien Nose Job project covers both angles. This second album is an instant classic that deserves to be heard far beyond the underground - but if it isn't, who cares? He's probably playing in another seven bands already by the time you read this. I've not heard them yet either, but I can tell you they're all fucking amazing. Just buy this record and join the cult. Will Fitzpatrick.

Hailing from Florida, The Tropics were one of the finest 60s garage bands. Their memorable concerts are still remembered today by the lucky ones who saw them at the time. Between 1965 and 1969, they recorded some explosive and now legendary 45s which are prime examples of garage-rock, teen-beat, folk-rock and proto-psych sounds. Here you’ll find most of those 45 sides along with some rare, previously unreleased on vinyl tracks. Including the classic “As time’s gone” (covered by The Fuzztones) and many more.
Remastered sound in mono, insert with detailed liner notes by Jeremy Cargill (Ugly Things) and rare photos.
“In 1965 The Tropics were the biggest band in Florida…simple as that. I watched them in awe” Tom Petty

Heavyflow is the debut album by Skinny Girl Diet, released in Sept 2016 by two sisters from North London who play raw, abrasive, in your face guitar music.

Formed in 2011 when still young teenagers, their first gig was with the Slits' Viv Albertine and the TV personalities. While a three piece with their cousin Amelia on bass they played around the London area initially, earning touring stripes with their own generation's breakthrough bands such as The Fat White Family and Slaves. Last year they appeared alongside legends John Cooper Clarke and The Raincoats, played dates in Europe and were interviewed by Arte for German TV.

Iggy Pop recently said “Here are some people who just want to reach out and grab your ears” when he played them three times on his Iggy Pop Confidential BBC Radio 6 music shows and everyone from XFM’s Jon Kennedy, BBC Radio 6’s Marc Riley, Gideon Coe and Steve Lamaq, and BBC Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank have put them on the airwaves.

They have graced the cover of Beat, can be spotted online and in magazines like Dazed and Confused, Vice, Vogue, Crack and The Guardian. Not to mention the stacks of underground zines.

Kaleidoscope are a rare group, having continually evolved and expanded in form since their inception. Volume 3 marks the first Kaleidoscope release of 2017, a masterfully crafted follow-up to several cassette releases on their own D4MT Labs imprint and a 7” EP on Katorga Works. Since then, the three members of Kaleidoscope have taken up residency in a shared Brooklyn apartment and basement studio. In doing so, their collective spirit of creativity and resourcefulness has risen to an all-time high. The six tracks on Volume 3 serve as a testament to the group's unique and unwavering commitment to an original sound—one that is undoubtedly crafted with a well-refined taste for international punk and hardcore, but also embraces experimentation. Engineered entirely in the group's home studio and layered with original samples, overdubs, and guest instrumentation from an ensemble of friends. The end result is simple—a highly impressive production that commands repeat listening. Volume 3 is presented with the recognizable aesthetic of previous Kaleidoscope releases, directed by guitarist/vocalist INFORMATION MAN [SHDK], though truly a cohesive group effort. Packaged with a Risographed lyric booklet that serves as a proper companion piece to each transmission.

Indignation Meeting are punky rail fans from Leeds. 15-year-old Peter is the driver - he's the drummer and lead singer, writes most of the songs, and also plays bass and trumpet on the album. The rest of the crew is his dad Michael on guitar, Hugo on bass, and with Keith, Heather and Sally often along for the ride when they play out. Here at DGHQ we loved listening to their self-released debut album Trouble In The Shed so much we eventually released it on vinyl for the first time. They now have a second album! Vocalist/drummer Peter very kindly talks us through the (train) tracks_* "The Trainspotting Song" - Now, as a train geek, I go out filming trains an awful lot, and one thing you can't help noticing whilst out in the wilds of Staffordshire or the moors of Lancashire are a whole load of unnecessary 'Private Land' signs. This song is my response_* "The Talyllyn Railway" - The history of the Talyllyn Railway is a fascinating one that I've long since wanted to explore, due to its unique nature as the first railway to ever be taken over by volunteers. This is the result! * "The Middleton Railway" - As a volunteer at the Middleton Railway, I had felt that a song needed to be written for quite a while. However, our guitarist Michael, ended up beating me to it! * "A Model World" - It was late one night, and I was lying on my sofa, trying my hardest to gain an ounce of enjoyment from 'Hornby; A Model World.' It was proving quite hard, due to the alarming lack of substance in the programme, so instead I decided that its name was rather good, and could be the basis of a song explaining my 'model world.' And, well, here it is! * "The Fifth Black Five" - This song is dedicated to the railway preservationists of old, who spent countless hours in cold, damp, dreary sidings, all to make sure us future generations would be able to enjoy the smell of a steam train. Thanks guys! * "Case Study" - This song is a commentary on the sensationalisation of disasters, when there's a massive tragedy and peopl...

It's not like with some people who had a family connection or watched Thomas the Tank Engine; I've just always loved them. I guess it's just a childhood obsession that never went away!" Q: "'Trouble In The Shed' is quickly becoming a firm office favourite here at DG. There's a touch of punk, indie and new wave about it. What would you say are the key influences that make up your musical DNA?"A: "My main influence when this album was released was Blyth Power. They'd been my favourite band for years when this was recorded, so everything on it was influenced by them in some way. They've had so many different musical styles over the years that they kind of conglomerated into this album, to create yet another eclectic mix of songs. The only real exception to that on this album is Electrification - no prizes for guessing the influence there! If you see us live, however, you may notice another influence pervading through our songs. That influence is the anarcho-hippy band 'The Astronauts,' whom I discovered midway through the recording process,...

The Bratislava-based band 52 Hertz Whale release their new album Present Sense Impression in a collaboration of the labels Weltschmerzen and Full Moon Forum.

Three years since their album I've Met a Lot of People, the band brings forth a lot of new ideas, finding a new resonant space, and utilising the fierceness // savageness of their live shows, in an intimate stare at contemporary guitar music.

52 Hertz Whale is a band well known in the Central European music context. Their ferocious sound, mixing the intensity of post-punk, heavy guitar wails, and melancholic // stark vocals of Dominik Prok has been tearing down the fixtures of many festivals and venues, all the while being a great example of a band driving at 200mph nonstop. On Present Sense Impression, the band, composed of Dominik Prok, Dominik Fabian, Patrik Nagy, Tomáš Tabiš and Adrián Krišák, have arrived at a record full of manifold manifestations of their live sound, but at times recalling the more marginal waves of 80s pop // rock sound. Resolute drums, heavyweight guitar and bass riffs now deem closer to the lightness of early ethereal darkwave, just to indulge in the classic melancholic heaviness they are known for only seconds after.

Some of the songs have been produced by "Prague's favorite rock'n'roll enfant terrible" Lazer Viking as well as Pulp Studio's Jakub Hríbik, and one features a special guest - the cemballo virtuoso Marcel Comendant. The traditionally stunning artwork was created by the accomplished Martin Mesaroš.

Present Sense Impression is the 20th album released under the Slovak romantic // experimental label Weltschmerzen focused on emotionally hypercharged, humanely intertwined, and acutely sounding contemporary music. This time in collaboration with the czech label Full Moon Forum. It releases August 26th on limited edition baby pink, standard edition black vinyl and on all streaming platforms.

The creation and release of this record have been supported using public funding by the Slovak Arts Council, and Soza. Fullmoon Forum project was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

By the time Toy Doys issued Bare Faced Cheek as the inaugural LP of their own Nit Records label, bassist Flip had been replaced by Dean Robson and drummer Happy Bob by Martin Yule, with Olga still the vocal focal point. “Yul Brynner Was A Skinhead” is the best of the bunch, “Neville Is A Nerd” and “Quick To Quit The Quentin” are typical Toy Dolls punk piss-takes, and there are digs at a hotel and a local launderette too. Everything is delivered in lightning-fast bursts of energy, poking fun at all and sundry, the Toy Dolls punk way.

There really isn’t much you can do to prepare yourself for something as profound as Burnt Envelope. Punk this “pure” has to be fake these days, or does it? We stumbled upon this band (or is it high concept performance art?) the old fashioned way, on a podcast while being quarantined for a global pandemic, and its charm and impressively brazen lack of luster wiggled its way deep inside the Hozac brain trust, big time. Starring the eternally optimistic Anthony Pasquarosa (formerly of Weeping Bong Band, Frozen Corn, Gluebag, etc), the Burnt Envelope concept is very easy to swallow, and impossible not to immediately heave back up. If there was a “ballet” for sloptastic stoner-sweat exercise routines, this would be the Swan Lake. And Burnt Envelope would probably end up drowning in that lake, because you, my dear, are indeed “Stuck in this World.” If you’ve been curious about Ancestry.com and the like, “23 and Me” will be the song that gets you through the rest of 2023 with a spring in your step, a smile on your face, and a shot in your eye. “I’m A Chameleon Parts 1&2” are some of the most ambitious tracks ever released on this label, a seriously hypnotic soured mash of “Sister Ray” and Randy Savage/Mean Gene Okerlundisms that will cast a heavy spell, only to crack your wits out with a Maggots-esque “Nothing To Do” that will leave you dizzy and drooling. Set up as singles across the dehumanizing entire LP, every two tracks is in essence a “single” and quickly sears your fingers/toes and brain/ass simultaneously. Burnt Envelope is the modern national treasure you never knew we had, a brilliant barrage of slop punk perfection and black humor that shows we’ve still got a long way to go with “evolution,” and a nasty reminder of the beauty of a perfectly fried guitar solo. Will this immaturity get old any time soon? Not as long as baby shit stinks it won’t, and this incredible LP will give you the courage you need to tackle tomorrow’s hurdles, at least in your brain. Don’t worry, we won’t let many people get copies of this, we promise. People in stone houses shouldn’t thrown glass as it just gets everywhere, and it’s a huge mess to clean up….

After cutting a couple of demos soon after their formation, in time the band’s reputation was such that they were playing the Roxy in London and during their rapid ascent, the quartet managed to score a contract with major label Pye for their self-titled debut album, recorded in December 1976 and produced by Ron O’Shea, who ironically got his start with orchestral easy listening. LONG AWAITED FOURTH LONG PLAYER BY LEEDS PUNK BAND CYANIDE PILLS!FIRST PRESSING ON LIMITED EDITION YELLOW/RED SPLATTER VINYL!We catch up with lead singer Phil to discuss where the band is at man_ Q: What inspired you to make this concept album, time was right?A: I had to look up what a concept album was, it means an album where the songs all relate to each other? It must have been an accident due to memory loss, "Phil, haven't we already done a song about war?" "Phil, haven't we already done a song about corruption?"We live in dark times, the stupid ones are in charge, the evil ones are at the controls. It's hard to write songs about kittens and flowers at the moment.Q: It's been six years since your last album, why so long?A: It's taken a while! At first due to laziness, everyday life gets in the way, we have to pay the rent and eat so tyres have to be changed, holes have to be dug, floors have to be swept, then there was a pandemic! but it's mostly laziness, we are lazy cunts.Q: The album was produced by Carl Rosamond at the Billiard Room in Leeds. What's it like working with him?A: Everything we have ever recorded is with Mr Rosamond, he's the extra member of the band. Who needs George Martin or Phil Spector when you have the 'razor blade' Rosamond living down the street.Q: Love the cover art for the new album. Who's the talented artist?A: The cover was drawn by 'The head honcho' 'Numero uno' 'The big cheese' 'Our glorious leader' 'Das Kapitan' 'The chosen one' 'The golden goose' 'The idiot Savant' 'The one that walks among us' otherwise known as Phil Privilege, he didn't credit himself as he is very humble and shy.Q: 'Low Budget Rock 'n' Roll' - Love it! If you were making a mixtape of low budget rock 'n' roll, which bands would be on it?A: Low budget rock n roll, the mix tape would include anyone who hasn't got a pot to piss in but knows three chords and just wants to play rock n roll, you know who you are.Q: How do you think the government are doing,...

In a time where it’s become increasingly difficult to find the motivation to head out my front door, CUT Piece has become one of the few exceptions, and in their brief year of existence my favorite local band. Featuring a lineup of Portland scene stalwarts from RED Dons, Piss Test, ERA Bleak, Dials, Petite... every time they hit the stage with power, ferocity, and a purpose, commanding the audience and never out staying their welcome. On their debut LP Your Own Good they stick to that formula. Combining elements of post-punk, hardcore, and the early 80s UK anarcho scene, Cut Piece turn in a 23 minute album of driving anthems that demand your attention and drill their way into your brain. Songs about the fucked-up state of our world, the overwhelming apathy of the population at large, self-empowerment, and the creeps who lurk the neighborhood. With one of the hardest badgers in the game, a constant barrage of hook exchanges between the wiry guitars and rumbling bass, and a vocalist shouting arithmetic calls to protests, Your Own Good makes for a captivating debut, and if album closer Gugi is any indication of what’s to come sign me up now. Dark, powerful, and 100% Total Punk!

Formed on a grim council estate in Edinburgh in l979 by singer Terry Buchan and guitarist Stevie Ross with bassist Alan Paget and drummer Andy McNiven, The Exploited became one of the most popular and notorious of all hardcore punk bands. When they signed to Secret Records in l98l for debut LP Punks Not Dead, Terry had been replaced by his ex-soldier brother Wattie, with guitarist Big John Duncan, drummer Drum Stix, and bassist Gary McCormack; by the time “Let’s Start A War…” was released, the group featured Wattie’s brother Willie on drums and Billy Dunn on bass, while “Horror Epics” had Wayne Tyas on bass and Karl ‘Egghead’ Morris on guitar. That same line-up is featured on “Live At The Whitehouse”, a riveting and lengthy performance recorded in Washington DC in April l985; highlights include the opening “Let’s Start A War,” a take of “Rival Leaders” aimed at Reagan and Thatcher, “I Hate You” (with a reverse Jello Biafra reference), a castigating “Daily News” aimed at Maximum Rock n Roll, and a rousing “Punks Not Dead” encore.

The Ruins' eponymous EP (also known as the “gray record”) was originally released in the late spring of 1984 and in fact represents a significant moment in the Italian independent music scene of the early 1980s. The then contemporary burgeoning wave of entertainment music contaminated by experimental accents and conveyed essentially by electronic instruments saw the Ruins at the forefront. The band, essentially a duo, formed in Mestre (Venice) in 1978, had already carved out a window of national attention within the Italian new wave in 1981 with their first single “Short wave” and their participation in one of the very first (if not the very first) Italian new wave compilations entitled “Samples Only.” Following this, between 1982 and 1983, there had been an important interlude in the evolution of the Ruins sound with the foundation of the quintet project (of which SPITTLE/DepenDance recently published an essential anthology titled “brain Flakes”). At the end of 1983, having concluded the group experience with the consequent and inevitable return to the original duo dimension the musical style further evolved putting even more emphasis on the unique blend of electronic sounds and almost black /soul influences of the new compositions that would later be collected in 1984 in the original version of E.P. The duo's sound at that particular time was characterized by the innovative use of synthesizers and drum machines for unconventional song structures, which at the same time also encapsulated Ciranna and Pizzin's experimental ethos, thus allowing them to follow a parallel trajectory capable of maintaining a certain distance - while remaining somewhat related to - from the contemporary mainstream pop and the so-called Italo disco strand. Ultimately, this 1984 EP by the Ruins - of which Spittle DepenDance now offers a valuable reissue enriched with additional material from the period that has remained completely unreleased until now - is a testament to the band's innovative spirit and its role in shaping the Italian new wave scene, landing moreover to international acclaim and acclaim even over the following decades. With its mix of electronic experimentation and dark pop sensibility, it remains essential listening for fans of avant-garde pop music.

Consumption is key. War crimes in real time an arms length away, mandatory connectivity to hive mind. The common human experience is experiencing the shift. The 1000 Yard Stare is commonplace, no longer experienced only by soldiers and victims at the front. The front is everywhere. Colonial legacies, genocide, poisoned drug supplies and failed policy, killer cops, global warming, Neo-Liberal fallout, rising Fascism. The Information Age in its current state is one that sees the mask of the emperor starting to slip, a power struggle with the worst pla...

Originally released to a fan base and music press that were unprepared for the band to move on from the punk fury of “Crossing The Red Sea”, The Adverts “Cast Of Thousands” has since been recognized as a lost classic of the time. TV Smith’s cutting observational lyrics and sharp musical instincts saw his song writing grow and move in unexpected directions. The primal thumping was replaced by dynamic and driving drumming, acoustic guitars and probing solos emerged, and Tim Cross joined to add keyboards and fill out the overall sound. The one constant was the pounding throb of Gaye Advert’s bass. Encouraged to experiment by surprise producer Tom Newman (Mike Oldfield “Tubular Bells”) the band found themselves stretching creatively, both in song writing and recording techniques. They might agonize over the sound of recording a match being lit in the middle of one song, while doing a single take of a vocal via a microphone hung in the bathroom for another. Giant choirs were built meticulously over multiple tracks, while the sound of a rat running through the reverb room would be captured forever. The results wrapped some of TV’s best songs in strange and inventive sounds to compliment his anti-pop smarts and rock and roll heart. They did not know it at the time, but the band was falling apart. Tensions would soon rise to the level that replacement players were called in to finish their final tour. Punk fans left them in droves. Critics skewered the singles from the album. Their record label had moved on to the next big thing. Feeling that they had reached a creative peak made the tumble even harder to swallow. Time has been very kind though, and fans discovering punk after the first wave have been able to hear “Cast” for what it is - a brilliant and biting collection of rock and roll. Still full of stomp and swagger even when stripped down on “My Place” or via the anthemic surge of “Television’s Over”, with TV’s hook factory on full display on the anti-love song “Love Songs”, and the band closing the album with the creeping ballad “I Will Walk You Home”; The Adverts had grown from a great punk rock band to a great rock band.

Classic Black vinyl, 1000 pressed. A punk classic, gloriously anthemic power pop from the cult UK outfit. On 17 March 1978, a mere six months after the release of their self-titled debut, The Boys second album “Alternative Chartbusters” was released (once again, produced by Dangerfield & Steel). As AllMusic recognises, “Alternative Chartbusters” was way ahead of its time, a buried treasure that only got dusted off much later: “Condemned at the time for offering up little more than a straight carbon copy of its predecessor, the second Boys’ album has since ascended to the pantheon of power pop greats, a combination of the band's own inestimable position at the forefront of what, by early 1978, was already a burgeoning movement, and their seemingly effortless grasp of the rudiments of, indeed, a great pop song.” Along with the Sex Pistols, Clash and the Damned, The Boys were part of the first wave of the mid-1970’s UK punk explosion. Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977 and subsequently released two albums, their self-titled debut and the follow-up “Alternative Chartbusters” in quick 7 succession. Highly regarded by the music press and their contemporaries, yet somehow criminally ignored by a wider punk audience, unable to grasp their heritage of vintage rock ‘n’ roll that went back to Chuck Berry courtesy of The Beatles. Their well-crafted songs, together with Steel and Dangerfield’s layered harmonies, even led to them being described as ‘The Beatles of Punk’

Starting out as pub rock band the Marauders, shifting to the Subversives after getting hip to punk at the Roxy and finally settling on UK Subs, the revered band were part of the initial London punk scene and one of the first to go hardcore, despite frontman Charlie Harper’s blues roots. Live At The Roxy Club captures the group on the rise in 1977, delivering an intoxicating set of full-throttle winners, with ‘Illegal 15’ and ‘Lady Esquire’ sounding better than their subsequent studio recordings. This in-demand first live offering has stood the test of time – a definite must-have for all fans of the band and for lovers of original British punk.

In the spirit of Dead Moon before them, Green/blue have wrangled the simplicity of 'Worry' and 'Gimme Hell' to write some of their best songs to date, punk anthems that’ll have you shouting in no time. While they’ve upped the jangle and loosened the density, the duel vocal approach on 'Worry' is plenty epic, a big nasty punk song with pop splendor and self-awareness. The vocals pair Sparrows and Blaha together for a riotous gang effect, giving it a sort of last-call at the seedy bar kind of energy. Which is to say, it’s pretty much perfect, a song about the struggle that feels downright triumphant. 'Gimme Hell' follows suit, a down but never out call to rise up and fight. The skeletal guitars and punchy rhythm keep it firmly in the garage spit-and-jangle mode with vocals that pretty much demand to be shouted en masse. Whether it’s a new direction for the band or just a fun one-off from the studio sessions, Green/Blue sound absolutely super-charged."—Dan Goldin, Post-Trash. Edition of 300 copies with riso sleeve.

Neo-Mod act the Carpettes began as a Stones-influenced school band, formed in the small northeast Norman town of Houghton-le-Spring in the mid-l97Os, the trio of frontman Neil Thompson, bassist George Maddison, and drummer Kevin Heard shifting to punk before signing to Small Wonder as a Mod revival act. By the time they joined the Beggar’s Banquet roster in 1978, Heard was replaced by Tim Wilder (with Simon Smith of the Merton Parkas briefly in the fold). Sophomore album Fight Amongst Yourselves is arguably their best, the appealing material ranging from the socially-relevant power-pop of the title track and the pop-punk of ‘The Reason I’m Lonely’ to the reggae cadences of ‘The Last Lone Ranger’.
