Motor City Resurrection is a compilation of early material by the Finnish rock band The 69 Eyes. Originally released in 1994 by 1 + 2 Records, the compilation presents the band's glam metal and hard rock phase containing early 7" singles and EPs. Now mastered for vinyl by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios with close supervision by the band, Motor City Resurrection has never sounded this good before.

Psychedelic, progressive folk-rock masterpiece from 1971, recorded in London by John St. Field aka Jackie Leven (of Doll by Doll fame) but only released in Spain back at the time. Before becoming a cult singer/songwriter in the 90s, Scottish musician Jackie Leven debuted in the early 70s with “Control”, issued under the John St. Field pseudonym due to “problems with the forces of law and order”. Recorded in London and helped by musicians from MAN and other friends (Phil Ryan, Juliet Lawson, Jesse Ballard, Joe Kucera…), the album featured a collection of wonderful songs written by Jackie after his experiences wandering away and taking copious amounts of LSD. Unlike previous reissues, this one features the complete tracklist in original running order and also a new insert with previously unseen photos / memorabilia and recollections from some of the musicians involved.

Released in 1991, Angel’in Heavy Syrup’s self-titled debut LP ensured that they would be remembered as one of the greatest all-female Psych-prog-rock bands ever. With only one CD reissue to its name, this album has become one of the most sought after albums of Japan’s early-90’s underground rock scene. Have you ever been to Miyazaki? It’s a prefecture on Japan’s southern island of Kyushu, facing the Pacific. Palm trees. Humid subtropical climate. This is the home of Maple Fyshh, a musical artist whose late-80s/early-90s recordings have been collected and reissued here. Liberated by the advent of 4-track cassette home recording technology, inspired by a love of 60s pop oddball production mavens like Phil Spector and Joe Meek, as well as American hot rod and surf music, these Maple Fyssh songs glow with an outsider’s love of the transformative power of newly-available sound technology, allowing him to pull his inspirations across decades and oceans to his 1990s Miyazaki home studio. The tracks here are a d.i.y. dream-pop wonderland, compiling songs from his first LP “Mariko” and second LP “Dokitto Station!!”, both self-produced, both released in 1995. The A-side of this release features tracks from the concept album “Mariko”, a masterpiece of daydream pop introspection, recorded in 1994-95, inspired by a poem submitted to a manga magazine. The B-side features tracks from “Dokitto Station!!”, slightly earlier recordings that draw inspiration from a range of 60s pop including girl groups, surf music and acid folk. All the music here demonstrates Maple Fyshh’s deep understanding and appreciation 60s pop moves, and also his mastery of the limited technology at his disposal.

Remastered in 2024, the sound of Miyazaki has been reborn for a new audience. Available on Vinyl LP and download, with a DL card, English/Japanese lyrics and entertaining and informative English/Japanese liner notes by the artist.

1992’s ‘Untitled’ brought the band’s third album that re-cemented the duo once again as the progenitors of the “lo-fi” genre. This breakthrough set transitioned "The Trux" into a never ending all-inclusive rotating cast of musicians. Continuing Fire Records’ series of classic remastered albums from Royal Trux, ‘Untitled’ is released on white vinyl and features updated monochrome and silver artwork.

As unpredictable as ever, Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema shook off the next level layering and noise of ’Twin Infinitives’ to embrace the history of rock ‘n’ roll in all its deformed grandeur. Utilizing their ever present mind set of macro-inclusivity, they allowed the subconscious "radio stations" of their lives to infiltrate, lead, and dictate. Culling from their collective minds and memories twisted tunes that touched them. On ‘Untitled’ Hagerty uses his 5-string blues roots and hails rock’s twisted potential, while Herrema slurs and snarls in ecstasy. They sound like they’re locked in a fourth-floor boudoir at the Chelsea Hotel; bottles clink, an album clicks on its run-out groove, the band plays on. In the mix are the characters and casualties of the 90s, a roll call of swaggering misfits. These aren’t superficial sketches, the Trux cut much deeper than that…

The Polydor label released a few singles in the late 1960s that became very obscure and unknown, even to researchers. Most of these 7 inches are super psychedelic and very creative, but totally anti commercial. Own compositions, recordings and good productions, always with a top team. These works were not promoted or publicized by the label and very few copies circulated at the time. The impression is that the intention was to freeze or disappear with the artist in question. Vermelho is one of them, a work that is little talked about or known but that always attracts the attention of those who have access to these two tracks. Arrangement by Rogério Duprat, who was proud to have participated in these recordings, with Rafael Moreno on bass, Alberto Niccoli Junior on drums, Bolão on Sax and Marcos Ficarelli, the “Vermelho” on guitar and vocals.

Marcos already knew well the ways of recording and producing an album, having participated in historical groups of Brazilian rock in the 60's such as Top Sounds, Código 90 and Loupha, to name a few. At this stage, he had already acquired good knowledge of recording and studio management. Excerpts such as “And in the hole of the corners, to look for, is what I try in vain” presents the listener with the mood of the dark times of that time, and today seems a premonition about the difficulty of finding this single, even in private collections.

“Parabéns Meu Bem” and “Gira-Gira” are tracks with an advanced rhythm for the time. Drums very well marked, with an original take and very close to North American funk. The bass is consistent and strong and the guitar full of effects and very reminiscent of the sound and energy of Jimi Hendrix, Santana and Blood Sweat & Tears. There is yet another musical layer created by Duprat, who managed to insert a mini orchestra along with the sound mass created by “Banda do Vermelho”.

Jojo Hiroshige is probably best known as the main driving force behind Japanese noise band Hijokaidan and its numerous transformations. His group Slap Happy Humphrey - formed with fellow Alchemy Records noise maker and Angel’in Heavy Syrup singer Mineko Itakura - was in some ways a departure from Hiroshige’s typical noise undertakings. On their first and only LP, the self-titled record is immersed in opposites and contrasts that work in tandem - of folk and noise, of calm and rupture. P-vine is delighted to present the first ever vinyl reissue of the 1994 album with an iconic Japanese obi strip attached.

As a revival of Doji Morita’s hauntingly bleak folk swept across Japan in the early 90s, so too did Hiroshige wish to step into Morita’s dark fantastical world armed with his guitar. With cover songs selected from Morita’s first four albums, Itakura’s vocals bring out the ethereal charm of Morita's writing across these tracks with third member and Subvert Blaze frontman, Hiroaki Fujiwara, backing her on acoustic guitar and violin. Against this backdrop of the duo’s acid folk harmonies, Hiroshige finds opportune moments to thrust his most volatile concoctions of noise and blissful distortion.

Kinked is a compilation of Dave Davies' work from the late '90s and early 2000s, featuring selections from the 1998 collection Unfinished Business: Dave Davies Kronikles 1963-1998, which itself contained a bunch of re-recordings from the late '90s of classic Kinks tunes. That accounts for a little under half of this 15-track collection. The rest is made up of selections from the 2000 live album Rock Bottom: Live at the Bottom Line (four tracks) and 2002's studio album Bug (two cuts), plus a couple of relative rarities -- "When the Wind Blows (Emergency)," which was written for the End Hunger Network in 1997, and a cover of George Harrison's "Give Me Love, Give Me Peace on Earth," which was for a 2003 Harrison tribute album -- and a brand new tune, "God in My Brain," which was written and recorded in 2006, after Davies recovered from a serious stroke.

This new double-album by legendary Norwegian progressive rock outfit Tangle Edge, titled ‘Cispirius’, contains studio recordings from the last half of the 1990s. Some of it has never been released before, while some has been re-mixed and is released here for the very first time on vinyl ! The key track is the full length 58min journey entitled ‘Beyond The Hills Of Inhibition’, which first appeared on the ‘Entangled Scorpio Entrance’ live album 1992. Some might argue that the gem of all gems here, is the seventeen minute long studio version of ”Cañcalam”, one of the band`s most well received stage-numbers throughout the 90s, a recording from the band`s uncompleted 1999-album

Buon Vecchio Charlie's self-titled record is one of many others who were never released at the time they were made (1972, in this case) but remained hidden in some obscure closet, until a late publication in the '90s.

This is a real gem that we dare to name among the 'fundamentals' of Italian Prog; once released the first time, it soon went out of stock until AMS Records produced a CD version in 2011. A fantastic album, made of pure and complex symphonic prog music, with a beautiful mix of flute, guitar and organ, with strong classical influences; the musicians involved were very skilled, such as the other ones playing in bigger and more famous bands: PFM, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Le Orme and Quella Vecchia Locanda, just to name a few.

Today "Buon Vecchio Charlie" is released once again by AMS Records in its 'definitive' edition, on black vinyl, with a cover artwork that reflects the CD's one, including the liner notes written by guitarist and singer Luigi Calabrò. A must-have for any Italian Progressive Rock lovers!

As we continue our half-joke-verbal agreement of "one album per year" with Taner Öngür, here we go with "Water Cycle". Like many musician in the world, lock down home, early 2020 Taner Öngür got back to his own song books and merge them with some new ideas and brought us this exceptional instrumental album. It's quite hard to classify it within one genre but we can say it takes off from progressive sounds and explore around Öngür's latest band 43,75's own swing-surf-rock style (of course with some little psychedelic touches). These 14 tracks consist 3 special covers such as the Beatles' "I am the Walrus", Bollywood's famous "Mera Joota Hai Japani" and "Ya Mustafa" which featured in various works of middle eastern cinema. Taner Öngür, the legendary bass player of Moğollar (the iconic group of 1970’s Anadolu Pop movement), is producing solo projects since 90's. "Water Cycle" is his 4th opus of his collaboration with his latest band 43,75 and Tantana Records. During lockdown days of 2020, Öngür got back to his own song books and surfed between UK and India -and of course over fly central Asia- got together this very special instrumental guitar trip. Considering he is the "baptist" of the "anatolian rock" movement of 70's, his beyond-genres-eclectic view to the music fits perfectly to the swinging guitars, progressive touches, tribal beats, melancholic moments of “Water Cycle"... It's also a great "introduction to Taner Öngür's universe". Back in 2016 he formed this project: 43,75. Their first album “Elektrik Gramofon” (2017) was a beautiful selection of 20's - 50's Istanbul songs, distilled by Öngür's surf-swing-rocknroll appoach (it's LP's sold out within 48 hours!). Nowadays, most of the vinyl collectors knows about Anatolian Rock; but not many knows that Taner Öngür was on many cult records of the era and the definition of "anatolian pop" and "anatolian rock" are actually Taner Öngür's own wording, that became the name for it - since 70's. So, on "Sayko Ana” (2018) Öngür did not hesitate to have fun with it; browsing between forgotten Turkish folk songs and psych them. In 2019, he got back into archives, to dig "strange stories" from newspapers and vintage novels of 1930's-1960's, which gave birth to "Asrî Sadâ" album, that its LP consisting a superb - rich contented 16 pages tabloid newspaper; with "news" and "articles" related to the songs... and many other bizarre details of our "dusty days”. So, please welcome to Taner Öngür's own psych-surf-swing flavored universe!

Fuelled by two gifted songwriters (Ray Glynn & David Hynes), they were soon recruited by Dick James (music publisher of the Beatles and the Hollies) as session musicians. Allan Clarke and Graham Nash from the Hollies were so impressed with them, that they took them under their wings, helping them to get a deal with CBS. Between 1965 and 1968, the Mirage released and self-produced seven singles for different labels (cbs, Phillips, Page One…), including titles like “The Wedding of Ramona Blair” (pure psych-pop perfection, included on Rubble in the 80s), “Hold On” (a mod-psych classic), “Tomorrow Never Knows” (a surprising cover released at the same time as Revolver, thanks to their Dick James connection), “You Can’t Be Serious” and more. But they also recorded lot of stuff that never saw the light of day at the time. These unissued songs run the gamut from magical Hollies inspired harmony pop (“Gone To Your Head”, “What Do I Care”, “I Want Love”…) to pure psychedelic pop, highly influenced by early Pink Floyd and Revolver era Beatles: “Lazy Man”, “Ebaneezer Beaver”, “Mrs Busby”…some of these tracks were included in the 90s on famous bootlegs like “Artifacts From The Psychedelic Dungeon” but now it’s the first time they’re all collected on a legit vinyl compilation, making “You Can’t Be Serious: 1966-1968”, the missing album The Mirage could have released at the time and a must for any UK psych aficionado. It comes with detailed notes by Stefan Granados (author of The Beatles and Apple Records: Those Were The Days 2.0 book, telling the interesting Mirage story, including their connections to Dick James, the Hollies, Spencer Davis Group, Caleb (of “Baby, Your Phrasing Is Bad” fame), Plastic Penny, Portebello Explosion…

Legendary garage punk recorded in the mid '80s and pressed in the mid '90s. A true classic that finally gets released after more than 30 years. A handful of promo copies got into circulation at the time and are considered a holy grail to collectors. The flipside 'Rainy Days' is a previously unheard track which could easily be mistaken for The Seeds. Real '60s style garage punk at its very best.

A master of the mixing board, from the late '60s until the '90s Bernard Estardy was the wizard of French musical recordings. As head of CBE studios, he shaped everything from Gérard Manset's concept albums to Claude François' hit singles, Françoise Hardy's delicate tear-jerkers and Michel Sardou's soul-stirrers. This "giant" had his hand in the whole range of mainstream French music by making his studio a veritable playground for experimentation. His legendary album 'La Formule Du Baron,' released in 1969, and the eight LPs of production music he made between 1974 and 1978 for Tele Music are vivid proof.

A glorious blend of Space-Rock, Kraut and Psychedelia courtesy of the mysterious Golem. Plenty of Hammond organ, analogue synths, ripping guitar, effects, trippy jams…“Orion Awakes” was recorded and produced circa 1976 by Toby Robinson a.k.a. Genius P. Orridge, while he worked as second engineer at the famous Dierks Studio in Cologne. Memories from those hazy times are sketchy but all leads to believe that the musicians featured here were well-known names from the Kraut scene under pseudonyms, recording 100% underground, non-commercial music under Toby’s guidance, just for fun.

Apparently, “Orion Awakes” was released as a very limited hand-made pressing housed in a silver foil sleeve on the Pyramid label, which was ran by Toby and his friend Robin Page, the Fluxus artist. No original copies have ever been found. The fascinating liner notes by Kraut expert Alan Freeman talk about seeing an original copy of Golem at a record shop in Germany many years ago and he also sheds some light on who could be the real musicians involved, as well as discussing the controversial story of the Pyramid label and the accusations of Golem being a manufactured 90s “fake” instead of a real vintage 70s recording.

Baa Records’ first ever limited remaster and reissue of PHAENDIN วงแผ่นดิน “Five Precepts” in 7” single. Phaendin (“Land”) was a coming-together of musicians from other prominent bands in the Thai phuea chiwit (“songs for life”) folk-song scene. Phaendin “Five Precepts” album was first made & recorded in 1994. In this 7” reissued, we have “Five Precepts ศีลห้า“ — an early 90s Thai funk-rock Pali Chant recorded in 1994 on side 1, and a handpicked blues rock track “Accident อุบัติเหตุ“ on side 2. Both reproduced and remastered first quarter of 2024.
