Unreleased junkshop glam! It’s been a long, long time since we’ve released a split 7”. There’s an extremely good reason for this being a split 7”. These are are the only known songs by each of these groups. Both are Junkshop Glam sourced straight from the only known acetates from circa '74. Restored and mastered by Danilo Silvestri (Giuda). Snooty sounds a bit like a mashup of Harpo's “Teenage Queen” and Muff's “Sexy Lady”, while the flip side reminds us a bit of Pantherman vocal-wise. Mega thanks to mega glam collectors Tim Orchard and Noah Wallace for their assistance on this project.

The Original UK Mono Single Mixes! Available for the first time since 1971. We like our Power Pop "original recipe" style from the late 60s/early 70s. Rockin’ Horse was an incredible mostly studio-only group, save for one UK tour they did backing Chuck Berry in '72. Rockin’ Horse was led by two Liverpudlians, Billy Kinsley (ex Merseybeats, Merseys, future Liverpool Express) & Jimmy Campbell (The Kirkbys, 23rd Turnoff) who were treading the boards of The Cavern Club with their earlier groups at the same time as The Beatles, whom they are often compared to.

Nemesis Lately is the second full-length album released by Somnus Throne. This LP is very much a continuation of their first album(Burning World Records 2020), but with much more attention to detail, a further exploration of the depths of each niche within 'doom,' and a greater variety of sounds. Think just as much heaviness as the first album with less drone and more action. Nemesis Lately goes everywhere across the landscape of doom, stoner, heavy psych, and grunge from a welcoming kick in the teeth by a Motorhead-esque first track, through shades of Acid King, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Black Angels, The Melvins, Dead Meadow, High on Fire, The Sword, Electric Wizard, Dopelord, Black Pyramid all the way to a concluding track that strives at echoes of Led Zeppelin's acoustic prowess. It goes without saying that the entire album, and the entire Somnus Throne catalogue in total, is never more than one decapitated bat away from Black Sabbath worship. In sum-total, this album is truly a smorgasbord of all things fuzzy, doomy, smokey, sleepy, and trippy while also managing to grasp the essence of each sound -- perfect for anyone ready to doom, space, fuzz, head bang, tune in, turn up, and trip out for the next 40+ minutes.

Here's a collection of rare psychedelic/freakbeat tracks from such bands like The Kinetic, The Factory, Steerpike, State of Micky & Tommy, Cain, Nimrod and more. This is for fans of these 80s and 90s cult psych comps like the ones on Tiny Alice Records, the Justafixation series, Voyage Through the Sugarcube etc.

The second and final installment in our Hector reissue campaign. After their stunning debut failed to chart, surely the public would picked up on the even catchier 1974 follow-up, "Bye Bye Bad Days," a song for the Covid era we now inhabit if ever there was one. Nope. Never fear, we're doing what we always do, shining a light on an overlooked gem that deserves heard again. Hector came and went and left us two utterly perfect singles, and for that, we forever grateful. Remastered with a huge sonic improvement over the original 1974 pressing which was very noisy."

It's a dream to release not one, but both iconic singles by Junkshop glam titans Hector. First up is their debut from '73, "Wired Up." In a perfect world, this would have topped the charts and The Osmonds would have struggling to make ends meet. Alas, it is a well known fact that quality cannot be shoved down the public's throat. In spite of loads of coverage in the teen mags and even TV appearances—fame and fortune were not in the cards for Hector. "Wired Up" goes for the jugular from the get-go with that throbbing single note riff pulverizing your senses. How can a song this incredibly catchy not be a smash? Politics, and the fickle whims of the BBC, who never gave the record a chance. See Trevor White's masterpiece "Crazy Kids" for another sterling example that the world isn't fair. Here it is available again for the first time since 1973 in it's original format, our fave, the almighty 7" 45 rpm single. Enjoy, true believers. During the early 1970s, Detroit rock band Howl The Good signed to Motown’s prog-rock offshoot, Rare Earth. Travelling to London to record their self-titled debut album at Olympic Studios, they were fortunate to work with engineer Chris Kimsey (best known for his later work with Peter Frampton and The Rolling Stones), with ex-Spooky Tooth keyboardist Gary Wright in the producer’s chair; Wright was a highly-rated session player that worked with George Harrison, Elton John, Joe Cocker and Steve Winwood, and he also enjoyed a successful solo career. The resultant album is a competent slice of semi-commercial prog rock with an undercurrent of blues and the odd pastoral number; despite the obviously American feel of the material, Billboard assumed the group was British, due to the location of the album’s recording. Despite the strength of “Just Pretend It’s Another Day” and “Long Way From Home,” both co-written by Wright, and a one-off rendition of Cat Stevens’ “The Joke,” the album flopped on release on both sides of the Atlantic, leading the band to remain in obscurity and ultimately break up.

Back in print for the first time in 50 years! This studio creation Junk Shop Glam grail was produced by Miki Dallon (The Sorrows, Boys Blue, Shakane, New York Dolls) for his Young Blood International label in 1974. This is Obviously not the later more famous UK punk group of the same name. This was a one-off studio project. We first heard this on our good friend Phil King's superb Velvet Tinmine comp yonks ago. Made to be played in the discotheques back before disco ruined said discotheques." 300 pressed.

First issued by our all-time favorite label, President Records in 1972, this was Things Fall APART's one and only release. Contrary to speculation, The Equals nor Eddy Grant had anything to do with this record despite it sounding very much like The Equals circa "Stand Up And Be Counted." Both songs were written and sang by Ralph ADU. Mind the fuzz! Remastered by Sean M. LENNONstraight from the original master tapes from the President Records archive. The ecology and the urgency to revert the human practices that generate all the evils that devastate nature is the war cry that resounds in every echo of this concept album that bears the title: ‘Planeta Náhuatl’. The quintet returns to the stage with an ambitious album, changing the sound style, as composition and orientation, the new work of Los Malinches has a certain aspect of a rock opera, which distils naturalistic mysticism and a vintage aspect updated by everyone and each one of their pores. ‘Planeta Náhualt’ is precisely that, a mix of different styles and very different sounds, but with the strength of the songs, all the pieces fit together in a brilliant set. The album is the perfect union between psychedelia and pop. “The record is a conceptual work that puts a soundtrack to different possible phases and scenarios, which could take place after the catastrophe that comes to us above data and signals that, both science and fiction, suggested us last years. It is a project of a new society after the destruction of the planet we live. A new opportunity to start from zero, which is finally truncated by the intrinsic defects in the human being, so that history finally repeats itself again in a disheartening way, just as it always repeats the same conflicts and the same wars together again”.

This is a release known mostly by Italian progressive rock lovers, since its sound can be easily associated to the jazz-rock delivered by the way more popular Napoli Centrale and Perigeo - but also to the ‘fundamentals’ Dedalus, Arti & Mestieri, Uno, if not Maad, Nadma or Aktuala, or even the lesser known Bauhaus for instance. But playing this kind of music and trying to release an album in the first half of the ’70s in Italy was also incredibly hard and courageous: Spirale, in fact, was one of the many bands that lived a very short life, before splitting up and disappear forever.
Spirale were an Italian quintet from Rome, consisting of Gaetano Delfini (wind instruments, vocals, percussion), Giancarlo Maurino (saxophone, ute, percussion), Corrado Nofri (piano, marimba, mbira, siren, Jew’s harp), Giuseppe Caporello (contrabass, guitar, percussion) and Giampaolo Ascolese (drums) who released a single eponymous album in 1974.
Spirale was originally released on the International King record label, thanks to Mario Schiano, a free-jazz saxophonist who discovered the band, and producer Toni Cosenza, who included the album in the ‘King Jazz-Line’ series. Consisting of just four tracks, most of which taken by the 13-minute long “Cabral, Anno 1” and the marvellous 17-minute “Peperoncino (Cose vecchie, cose nuove)”, Spirale is an incredibly balanced and owing record that sounds still fresh and inspired even today, and it’s a shame that it has remained hidden and overlooked for such a long time. Moreover, it is characterized by that undescribable and particular Mediterranean avour that only Italian musicians were able to obtain.
This beautiful album is of course immensely rare in its original edition, and is now nally reissued on Dialogo record label in a faithful restored version that will finally satisfy any collectors who have waited for years for this beauty to see the light again!
Italy has proven to be a treasure trove of obscure, archival sounds. For decades, the products of its free-wheeling sonic countercultures - spanning numerous musical genres - remained as overlooked from within as without, until being uncovered by diggers searching for treasures in the shadows of time. Thankfully, those efforts have morphed into countless revelations via the reissue market. Leading the way is the Milan based imprint Dialogo, who have made their name by diving far from the predictable path. Their latest, the first ever vinyl reissued of the lone, self-titled LP produced by the Rome based quintet, Spirale, in 1974, stands among their most exciting offerings to date. A visionary hybrid at the juncture of rock and jazz, it was so ahead of its time that it remained almost entirely overlooked for decades, before ultimately ascending to holy grail status among lovers of Italian prog. Creatively thrilling - filled with emotive highs and lows - it’s a crucial piece in the puzzle of Italy’s wild and wonderful history of radical sound.

Members turn up on recordings by Gaetano Liguori Collective Orchestra, Folk Magic Band, and numerous other projects over the years, but in this incarnation the music on Spirale seems to be all we have.
Spirale’s fate seems to have rested with the simple fact that they were too ahead of their time, producing a music that would subsequently come to find broad favour among audiences of popular music only a year or two down the road. Their lone, self-titled LP, carving out uncharted territory between Bitches Brew era Miles Davis and mid-70s Soft Machine, pushed progressive rock into a near undefinable realm; not rock enough to be called rock, not jazz enough to be called jazz.
Across the two sides of Spirale, comprising four works, a band of uncompromising talent stretches out, laying down cycling rhythms and bass lines that channel the modalism of John Coltrane, the funkiness of Donald Byrd, and hypnotic psychedelia, before embarking upon melodic excursions - peppered with Mediterranean sensibilities - into the outer realms.
Joyous, engrossing, and the product of exacting musicianship, how Spirale remained overlooked for all these years is one of the great mysteries of Italian music. An absolute revelation of the highest order brought to us by the capable hands of Dialogo, the first time ever reissue of this 1974, obscure masterstroke is an absolute must for any fan of prog, jazz, or Italian music at large. Beautifully pressed with fully restored and remastered audio and issued in a facsimile gatefold sleeve, reproducing the stunning original design, Spirale is just about as good as reissues get.

After playing in Bodcast with future Yes guitarist Steve Howe, Dave Curtiss and Clive Maldoon formed blues-rock duo Curtiss Maldoon, their self-titled debut released on Deep Purple’s label, Purple Records, in 1971. For the LP, the pair was backed by top session players including Mighty Baby’s drummer, Roger Powell, as well as Howe on the final track; contemplative folk-rock track “Sepheryn” would later be immortalized in altered form by Madonna as techno classic “Ray Of Light,” but is included here in all its original glory, along with four rare bonus tracks from the same sessions, left off the original release, making this expanded reissue the best way to experience the band at their finest. Limited vinyl reissue on 180gr vinyl, featuring 4 bonus tracks.

The respected Japanese jazz drummer Akira Ishikawa was not messing around when he recorded the 'Uganda (Dawn of Rock)' album with his band the Count Buffaloes. For this offering, originally released in 1972 on Toshiba Records, Akira Ishikawa takes us on a deep tripped-out journey. 'Uganda (Dawn of Rock)' is a fusion of progressive and psych rock with African percussion workouts, dergy-wah wah blues-funk, and jazzy sensibilities; with different genres morphing and uniting as they progress. A long way from his funk and afrobeat album 'Back To Rhythm’, re-issued on Mr Bongo in 2019, this record has a darker, deeper, abstract and experimental stoned tone with the listener being pulled into its vortex for the ride. This record doesn’t pull any punches. For this album, Akira is joined by Hideaki Chihara on bass, guitarist Kimio Mizutani, sounding at times like an early 70s Peter Green, percussionist Larry Sunaga and composer Takeru Muraoka. The album has become highly sought-after amongst psych, prog and acid rock collectors and due to the rare nature of original copies they come at a hefty price tag. We are delighted to present an officially licensed re-issue of this underground Japanese rock rarity.

Good things come to those who wait. The album 'The Children of Scorpio' by Project Gemini aka Paul Osborne is a result of his steeped 30-year musical journey that’s seen him dig deep, study his record collection and re-emerge to fine-tune his craft.

A cinematic musical journey that plays out like a long-lost soundtrack (think cult B-movies of the 60s and 70s); 'The Children of Scorpio’ was formed from Paul's love of a myriad of genres; from European library music, acid folk, psych-funk, vintage soundtracks and the contemporary breaks scene. The album draws on iconic classics such as the masterful cinematic funk of Lalo Schifrin's 'Dirty Harry', Ennio Morricone's 'Vergogna Schifosi’ and Luis Bacalov’s 'The Summertime Killer’, to name but a few. You can also hear the folk sounds of Mark Fry's iconic 'Dreaming With Alice', the Britsh folk-jazz of The Pentangle and the David Axelrod-produced 'Release Of An Oath' by The Electric Prunes, woven into the cultural tapestry of this gem. The influence of these vintage productions of the 60s and 70s is evident; however, it could be argued that there’s also echoes of the funkier psychedelic moments of bands such as The Stones Roses and The Charlatans, alongside contemporaries such as The Heliocentrics and Little Barrie, thus giving the album a broader crossover potential beyond the world of crate digging and vintage soundtracks.

A bass player and musician since the age of 16, the arrival of his first child in 2010 saw Paul move away from live performance and retreat to his home studio, recording a wealth of music that was destined to never be heard. One of the first tunes to be made was a demo entitled ‘The Children Of Scorpio’, inspired by his long-time obsession with Lalo Schifrin’s soundtrack to violent Clint Eastwood cop classic 'Dirty Harry'. Recorded for fun, the track was fated to sit in the archives untouched. However, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, connections to a wealth of inspirational musicians and labels would re-ignite Paul's musical fire and give him the impetus to develop his slept-on ideas into something more concrete. Firstly resulting in releasing two limited 7'' records on Delights Records and now the long-player for Mr Bongo.

Assisting in the recording of the record were several close friends that have helped spark Paul's musical creativity along the way, including well-renowned guitarist and Little Barrie frontman Barrie Cadogan (who contributes killer six-string guitar to four tracks), Delights Records head-honcho Markey Funk (who adds spooked out keyboards to ‘Path Through The Forest’), Kid Victrola, the chief songwriter and guitarist with French psych girl group Gloria who added wild 12-string to ‘Scorpio’s Garden’, Haifa-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Shuzin who brings the heat behind the drum kit, and Paul Isherwood, co-founder of Nottingham’s The Soundcarriers, who mixed the album on his wealth of vintage gear.

We are delighted to be releasing this slowly-brewed timeless classic that manages to achieve that rare feat of keeping one foot firmly in the past whilst still sounding totally contemporary.

Formed in 1972, Ace released three albums on the Anchor label between 1974 and 1977, but will always be remembered for one song from their Number 11 album ‘Five-A-Side’. That song, ‘How Long’, made Number 20 in their native United Kingdom but went all the way to Number 3 in the States in 1975 – quite an achievement for a band that unashamedly took its musical inspiration from that side of the Atlantic. Enjoy their best as originally delivered, on vinyl.
