“There’s A Rhinoceros In The Mega Church” is their debut LP released on Sound Records. U.S.E. (also often expressed as Unicorn Ship Explosion, but feel free to interpret this yourself), are unfortunately two boys known to their mums as Rob & Sash. Since we last saw Rob he has been working really hard as a multi-instrumentalist. He’s almost mastered the drums (he’s even been to jazz school), and he’s near to the final chapter of piano lessons. He’s really talented. He has his own music studio where he produces & writes music for the likes of, The Staves, Holysseus Fly & other fantastic acts that are well worth a listen if you have the time. Sash (or Sasha) is a great guy. Everyone loves working with him. He’s an average musician with big ideas, which is why he uses modular synths. He has written much music for many artists you’ve probably not heard of and has collaborated with some musicians you’ve definitely heard of. He sometimes works as a sound designer for some fashion brands you can’t afford, but you wouldn’t want to wear them anyway (so don’t feel bad for not being successful enough to spend £400 on a t-shirt). Sometimes a really cool woman called, Agnieszka Szczotka, collaborates with these two loveable boys. She is a performance artist of great skill. She studied art at the Royal Academy and chose to abandon her supreme painting and sculpture skills to dedicate her life to confrontational live performance art. Big respect. Together they are Unicorn Ship Explosion (not yet known as U.S.E. as it hasn’t caught on yet). It’s a creative attempt to be in the present and not overwork music as is often the norm these days.As a result an exciting new genre is emerging from this album. The genre hasn’t a name yet, but what is certain is that A.I. can’t recreate it, and wouldn’t want to either. Let’s be human together and accept and appreciate we can’t always be great. Enjoy the good moments with the bad. And together, yes together, you the reader and us(e) your new best friends, shall show A.I. that humanity is beautiful.

The Trip is the first solo album by N'Zeng, better known as Sébastien Blanchon. It has to be said that he hid behind his (hollow) nose to sniff out the right projects (ex Le Peuple de l'Herbe, member of Entourloop). His nose is hollow, but not for the trumpet, and yet it's with this instrument that he started out. And he reinvents it, giving it a subtle place on this musical road trip we call The Trip. A journey open to all, with no tolls and no filters, apart from the cinematic filter of this lover of original soundtracks and trip hop. Beautiful images flash before our eyes, and in our ears, the smooth voice of Charlotte Savary (Wax Tailor). An album, a very good trip for lovers of Portishead, Gorillaz, and well-felt scratches in the form of controlled skids. He's making a name for himself as N'Zeng, with his smooth arrangements.

N'Zeng's father played trumpet with his grandfather in the Feurs brass band in the Loire department. When he arrived in Saint Etienne, young Sébastien started out with a cornet à pistons at the Conservatoire. His teacher at the time, Marcel Heyte, had won a prize in Paris at the same time as a certain Maurice André.

His father took lessons in orchestral conducting, accompanying the offspring's budding musical career, which included a course at the Festival de Cuivre in Monastier-sur-Gazeille, where he met the soloists of the Radio France orchestra. A new awareness, a new confidence: off to Lyon, not for a soccer derby, but to "beef up his game". In 1997, he was awarded a gold medal for trumpet by a unanimous jury at the Conservatoire National de Lyon.

Lyon, capital of the Gauls, was the starting point for N'Zeng, who went on to become a member of the group Le Peuple de l'Herbe. 15 years later, with several successful records to his credit, a concert in 2003 at the Transmusicales with Beth Gibbons (Portishead), and a Victoire de la Musique award, it was time for N'Zeng to move on to other things.

Arrival in the City of Light, the place where dreams come true. Nzeng's dreams are not only sonic, but also visual, for Sébastien is not only a friendly presence and a talented musician, but also a cinephile. His knowledge of music theory, acquired during his years at the conservatory, enables him to tackle music for pictures.

He created a soundtrack for the cult film Alien - The 8th Passenger, and worked with musician Rone (collaborating with Baxter Dury) and his bandmates from Le Peuple de l'Herbe, composing 2 tracks for the soundtrack of Virginie Despentes's hard-hitting film "Baise-moi". On the album "Hollywood Hustlers", with the group "Mustang Force", he pays tribute to the soundtracks of Lalo Shiffrin, Ennio Morricone... The album is also well received by the critics. He conducts the arrangements and orchestrations for the Degiheuga Orchestra, and composes the original music for the Hôtel Bellevue dance show, another success!

2019 sees the birth of "The Trip" project. On this record, no masks, but a female voice, that of Charlotte Savary (Wax Taylor), laid on a carpet of strings. With this musical voyage, trip hop takes pride of place, with a balance between the body of the instruments and the mechanics of beatmaking.

There's no getting off track on this well-balanced record, with its silky orchestrations. N'Zeng accompanies us elegantly, with his trusty trumpet as GPS, here used subtly. The album cover is a photograph taken by Sébastien Blanchon's mother, in 1973, a year when Saint Etienne was about to become French champion for the 7th time.

The Wynder K. Frog story evolves around Mick Weaver. After he switched from piano to organ he joined a band named The Chapters that would soon be renamed Wynder K. Frog and perform material from James Brown's Flames, Booker T. and The MGs or even songs learned through Georgie Fame's recordings and Graham Bond's repertoire. Wynder K. Frog moved to London and became regulars in the city's R&B scene playing at Swingin' London's clubs like the Tiles or The Marquee. A contract with Island Records was secured and -under the wings of producers like Chris Blackwell, Guy Stevens, Jimmy Miller or Gus Dudgeon- Wynder K Frog, a name that would eventually be used as a pseudonym for Weaver more than a proper band name, did some some amazing Hammond organ-ized recordings and issued in three LPs and a bunch of cool 45s.

At the end of the 1960s, Weaver would quit the "band scene" to become one of the most in demand session musicians and throughout his career he'd be heard backing names such as Eric Burdon, Roger Chapman, Dave Gilmour, Keef Hartley, Alexis Korner, Ralph McTell, Taj Mahal or Otis Rush a.o, but his LPs as Wynder K Frog are classic Hammond sound from the 1960s UK and will appeal to those into Brian Auger, Graham Bond, The Artwoods, Zoot Money, Jimmy McGriff, Booker T. & The MGs and the likes.

OUT OF THE FRYING PAN
Released at the end of the summer of 1968, and with a host of session musicians that included the brass section of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, producer Gus Dudgeon helped Weaver / Wynder K Frog to improve the results obtained on the debut LP and get one step closer to the live action. Zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum erstmals auf Vinyl Irgendwann vielleicht 2010 sind sich Moritz Krämer und Francesco Wilking zum ersten Mal in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg über den Weg gelaufen, nachdem sie einen (weiten) Steinwurf voneinander aufgewachsen waren und ein paar Jahre in Freiburg nebeneinander hergelebt hatten. Wahrscheinlich machte es sowas wie Zoom, Klick oder Klonk, denn es genügte ein sanfter Schubs von ihren Konzertagenturen und die beiden standen gemeinsam auf der Bühne, begleiteten sich gegenseitig und sangen zweistimmig. Das war 2011 im Societaetstheater Dresden und Francesco und Moritz fassten auf der Rückfahrt von dort schon viele zukünftige Auftritte und eine dystopische Rockoper ins Auge. Die Konzerte wollten sie mit Freund*innen spielen, das erste mit Gisbert zu Knyphausen in Halle, das zweite mit Judith Holofernes in Berlin. Danach ließen sie die Gastsänger*innen weg, spielten aber weitere Shows mit den anderen Livemusikern der ersten Shows: Max Schröder am Schlagzeug, der damals noch mit einem Bein bei Tomte war und Felix Weigt am Bass, der für Spaceman Spiff alle Instrumente spielte und bei den tollen Kid Kopphausen mitmachte. Wir wissen nicht mehr wann die Frage fiel: "Sind wir jetzt eine Band?", aber es muss irgendwann im Prozess der Aufnahmen zur EP "Unzufrieden" gewesen sein. Dort hört man zwar noch den Feature-Ansatz - Gisbert und Judith singen auf "Vergangenheit" - aber vor allem hört man zum ersten Mal den Sound der Höchsten Eisenbahn: Ein-Finger-Casio, Chorus Gitarren, Pluckerbass, Rasseln und Handtuch auf der Snare. Dazu Geschichten von Losern namens Jan und anderen Leuten die zwischen jung und alt und Nacht und Tag ihre Anschlusszüge verpassten. Es ist 10 Jahre her, aber ein paar Sachen vergisst man nicht. Wie, dass sie eine ganze Nacht Chöre aufgenommen haben für "Die Uhren am Hauptbahnhof", nur um sie morgens aus Versehen zu löschen. Oder dass Felix einige signature Keyboard-Lines im Liegen eingespielt hat. Das Schreiben der Songs und Aufnehmen ging ziemlich schnell, wie das Coverfoto mit dem Handy im Hof vom Proberaum. Die vier wussten, dass sie auf jeden Fall mehr Platten machen und Konzerte spielen wollten. Es folgten drei bunte Alben mit großen kleinen Songs und award winning live-Shows, aber so leicht ging ihnen nie wieder etwas von der Hand wie diese erste EP.
