It has been repackaged as a gatefold featuring a beautiful, 20-page, full-color book on the oral history of the band from inception through the making of The Crew. 7ebra is the project of 25-year-old twin sisters Inez and Ella from Malmö, who grew up playing music together. Inez plays electric guitar and sings, Ella plays a keyboard, organ and Mellotron - whilst manually playing drum samples with her feet - as they both sing haunting harmonies in a way that only twins can. With an adventurous and daring take on instrumental afrobeat, Super Yamba Band’s Last Leap EP takes listeners back to 2014, the band’s formative year. “We had just moved to Brooklyn—Walter, Sean, Evan, and I,” said Daniel Yount, the band’s founder and drummer, “and our only plan for ‘making it’ was to just play as much music together as possible.”

Finally released from the Yamba archives, the Last Leap EP is a sonic timestamp of the band’s creative energy during those very special first days in New York City. “We were excited, inspired—and probably a little overwhelmed. We wanted to record a few of our tunes so that we could have something for the clubs to listen to as we were trying to book gigs,” Yount explained. “From there, we immediately fell into playing shows at Harlem’s African music clubs—places like Silvana and Shrine—as well as DIY dance parties in Brooklyn.” The result of all of this, Yount said, was “a sound that we intentionally designed to keep people dancing for as long as possible.”

From the early days of the Last Leap sessions, Super Yamba Band never relented. Today the group has gained notoriety in the global afrobeat and afrofunk scenes largely through its extensive touring and Ubiquity Records releases with singer, composer, and guitarist, Leon Ligan-Majek, aka Kaleta, a veteran of the genre. “Our project with Kaleta gained traction so fast, we basically put these masters on the shelves and forgot about them,” Yount explained. “Years later we went back to listen—with fresh ears—and it was reinvigorating. We’re going to keep exploring these sounds and pushing the limits of what an instrumental, afrobeat-centric band can be, even as we continue to double-down on our work with Kaleta.”

Brand new album from Medway's finest psych-beat combo! Heritage can be a harsh mistress. Ex-This, formerly of That. Past acclaim - particularly when it's attached to some of the most visceral and elemental rock 'n' roll of one's generation - can become both a help and a hindrance; impossible to shake off but crucial to continued acceptance in the fickle world of pop music. Not that this is any concern of The Galileo 7 of course. As the title of their sixth album proudly proclaims, There Is Only Now, and this record is nothing if not Now! From humble beginnings 10 years ago as a DIY outlet for Allan Crockford's songwriting ambitions (he was rarely afforded such luxuries as bass-wielding anchorman of The Prisoners, JTQ, Prime Movers, Solarflares et al) The Galileo 7 has evolved into a powerhouse live act delivering the kind of lysergically-inclined technicolour garage-rock rarely witnessed these days; one born of experience, exploration and an enjoyment of one's own craft. Following a period of fluctuation, the present line-up stabilised around Crockford (vocals, guitar), Paul Moss (bass, vocals), Viv Bonsels (keyboard, vocals) and the busiest man in garage, Matthew 'Mole' Lambert (drums, vocals) - yep, there are a lot of vocals in the mix here and the record is all the brighter for it. The G7's long-players since 2016's storming "live in the studio" set Live-O-Graphic have carried way more clout as a result of this newfound energy, breathing fresh life into Crockford's songs as the songs themselves delve ever more skilfully into a pool populated with Dandyish psychedelic pop, British Invasion muscle, new-wave sparkle and that ever-present Medway magic. "I wanted to make an album a lot quicker this time," Allan explains. "The last one took nearly two and a half years. This one has been written and recorded in less than a year, which is pretty good going for us. This time we were rehearsing and recording the songs pretty much as soon as I'd written and demoed them, and I think it has a unified feel that I really like." The approach to capturing the group's hot sound on tape remains the same. "The tracks would go down on 8-track tape then be transferred onto my digital multi-track, then put on the computer at home for all the overdubs and mixing. I'd like to record in a 'proper' studio for a month with an engineer, lovely 2-inch tape and vintage compressors, but this is a budget operation!" Ah, the tracks - a more panoramic, dare we say eclectic selection than we've heard before from the G7. The pastoral psych-pop moments are more colourful, the crash-bang-wallop gear more dynamic, the riffs sharp enough to take your eye out. "I don't know if 'challenging' is the right word," he continues, "but in the context of this kind of 'garage' sub-genre we all get lumped into, it's almost like we're taking a risk by doing something a little different, quiet, slow, odd, proggy, whatever. We're just a pop group, in the original sense of the word, so if I accidentally write something a bit different we'll have a go at it." For the first time all four members are featured as lead singers. "I wanted everyone to sing at least one song on this album, mainly because I get sick of hearing my own voice for 40 minutes. I'm probably the least accomplished vocalist in the band. I think having different vocalists and some 'different' songs on the album makes this album a better listen as a whole - it was definitely easier to come up with a decent track listing that varied the pace and feel." "Improvising on a theme of doubt," Crockford sings on 'The World Looks Different Today', yet There Is Only Now is possibly The Galileo 7's most satisfyingly determined record yet; its sonic peaks and troughs bound together by four people singing and playing in unison, and from the heart. Deviation Records is pleased to present you their latest and exiting collaboration with the Mieruba Label Team. The Super Biton has existed since the 60s, like Ségou, its orchestra, the Super Biton has always remained behind what was done in Bamako and in the big cities of Africa. The Ségou orchestra developed and incorporated amplified instruments that mingle with brass, in particular electric guitars, symbols of modernity at the time. It opens up to Cuban music, and congas and bongos complement the sound of the orchestra. The group drew a unique sound from it, a perfect balance between tradition and the modern. There are about fifteen artits on stage, singers, guitarists, drummer and percussionists. The Super Biton has for years been the best known and most sought-after orchestra of Mali outside the country's borders, the Super Biton transcends the only Bambara heritage with its repertoire. Ségou is a crossroads between Bambara, Fulani, Mandingo and Somono cultures and Biton has drawn on all these traditions to create a repertoire extremely rich in rhythms and words. Some musicians completed their training in Cuba. They play "bambara jazz", incorporating a lot of brass instruments such as saxophone, trumpet, clarinet. The compositions are modern and sophisticated. Mieruba Art Center is a place dedicated to the transmission and safeguarding of Malian musical heritage through musical exchange between the older and newer generation - Artist residences, music lessons, rehearsals, Workshops, Masterclasses - and so on. Just as happy former musicians of Mali, the members of Super Biton give lessons on site. It is also the office of the Mieruba-ML label in the same place where Deviation Records is collaborating for the second time on the album - After the « Lost Maestros Collection » - with the support of La Manufacture de Vinyles. Phil of Deviation Records tells: "I am very enthusiastic at the idea of offering you these two volumes of the History of the Super Biton of Ségou, Clique of Super Heroes of sound, a source of inspiration for generations of musicians, DJs and also griots and storytellers of great renown! This double LP compiles the first Chapter of the rich Afro-Jazz-Folk Collection whose tapes have been remastered by Monsieur Jonin and cut at the MB Mastering Studio in Aubervilliers .The gatefold artwork is conceived by Ewwanuelle Collage and formatted by Bertrand Tondeur, Graphic designer of Les Mouches. Sault - 7 is the second album by the enigmatic collective Sault, released in September 2019, just a few months after their debut 5. Like its predecessor, 7 builds on the group's distinctive fusion of funk, soul, Afrobeat, R&B, post-punk, and electronic music. The album continues to explore socially conscious themes, especially around the Black experience, empowerment, and resilience, all while maintaining a danceable and groove-driven sound.

Sault - 7 has a slightly darker and more introspective tone than 5, though it retains the infectious rhythms and minimalist production that define the group's sound. The album feels more cohesive, with stronger thematic continuity across the tracks. It deals with themes of love, loss, self-empowerment, and societal struggles. The music is often underpinned by hypnotic basslines, percussion-heavy grooves, and layered vocals, combining the experimental with the accessible.

Key Tracks:
"Over" – A standout track with a raw, pulsating rhythm and a sense of emotional urgency. The vocals convey a sense of heartbreak and frustration, paired with a minimal but powerful instrumental.
"No Bullshit" – This song blends funk and soul with a defiant message, urging listeners to cut through dishonesty and focus on truth and realness.
"Friends" – A soulful, almost melancholic reflection on relationships, with stripped-down instrumentation that lets the emotive vocals shine.
"Living in America" – One of the more overtly political tracks, it addresses racial injustice and the realities of systemic oppression, a theme that becomes more pronounced in Sault's later work.
"Feel So Good" – With its infectious groove and danceable rhythm, this track channels optimism and joy, bringing a sense of release and celebration despite the heavier topics covered in other songs.
Mystery and Collective Approach: Much like with their debut 5, Sault continued to maintain a low profile with 7, avoiding typical promotional strategies or revealing much about their identities. Inflo is believed to be the primary producer, with artists like Cleo Sol and Kid Sister likely contributing vocals, though the group's collaborative nature makes it difficult to pin down exact credits. This mystery only adds to their allure, allowing the music to stand front and center.

The release of 7 so soon after 5 demonstrated the collective's prolific creativity, establishing a pattern of frequent and impactful releases that challenge genre conventions while maintaining a strong social and cultural consciousness.

Sault - 7 was well-received by critics, who praised the album for its innovative sound, emotional depth, and powerful messages. It solidified Sault as a major force in contemporary music, blending the political with the personal in a way that feels both timeless and urgent.

Wild Carnation was formed in 1992 by vocalist/bassist Brenda Sauter (The Feelies, Speed the Plough, The Trypes) following the breakup and subsequent 16-year hiatus of The Feelies. Joined by Richard Barnes (electric and acoustic guitars), Christopher O'Donovan (drums, percussion, backing vocals) the trio put out their debut album Tricycle in 1994. It wasn’t until 12 years later and the addition of Anne Hopkins (Farfisa Mini-Compact Organ) that the band released their follow-up album Superbus in 2006. Pine Hill Records is proud to present the first ever vinyl issue of Superbus. A limited number of just 197 records were pressed (100 black, 97 purple/green splatter).
